Dashcode Webapp: browser.goForward method in multiple Plattforms

Hello everybody,
I'm trying to view a Dashcode created WebApp in another Plattform, for example the Browser of the Android OS.
The Problem is, that the links of the listelements in the stacklayout aren't working. They are represented by a js Method called "browser.goForward". Why does this one only work in the iPhone OS and the Safari Browser? Is there any way to do this cross-plattform?

I figured it out
The generator uses a wrong id for the label. The id of the label generated on list 2 is called label1 :-S
changing this in the view2Controller fixes the problem

Find(String pkey) method returns multiple object of the same row

I'm not quite sure what i've done or havent done, but I've implemented updating a row using the em.persist(Object) method.....works great, but after i did that a few times the find(String pkey) method returns multiple copies of 1 row in the db
here are two rows in the db
personid(PK) firstName lastName
1234 joe jones
2345 rachel jones
when i execute any query looking for people with the last name jones, ie
select object(p) from Person p where p.lastName='jones'
it returns multiple objects of each row ie
1234 joe jones
1234 joe jones
1234 joe jones
1234 joe jones
2345 rachel jones
2345 rachel jones
2345 rachel jones
2345 rachel jones
There is only one row for both rachel and joe in the db, but why is the entity manager returning multiple objects of each, and how do i prevent that without using DISTINCT?

Dashcode iPhone Webapp - Adding url links to multiple list item

I was wondering if anyone knew how to add a url link to multiple list items without the use of a button part.
Say For Instance i Have
Item 1 > I want to go to www.mysite.com/index.html
Item 2 > I want to go to www.mysite.com/help/index.html
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I had to do two things:
1. Declare the array 'events' outside the function.
2. Reload the list data (thanks to http://osdir.com/ml/safari-iphone-web-dev/2009-05/msg00013.html )
Now I've got to figure out how to pull in different data for different list levels!

Running Browser calling method'CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES' in the background.

Hello SAP Gurus
My intention is to shutdown and restart communication channels on PI side. To do this externally, we can send a URL with right parameters.
I have written a simple ABAP code to do this by calling the method 'CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES 'with the URL. Since I have several channels, I am calling this method in a loop. It is doing the job well.
However, for each channel an IE browser screen pops up with the XML data for that particular URL. It is kind of annoying to see so many popups.
Is there a way in ABAP to supress this multiple browser pop ups? Is there a way to make this method run in the background?
I know that this method is meant to call a browser screen with the URL, however I want to suppress this Browser POP up and use the remaining function.
Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

You cannot use a frontend (GUI) service when a program is running in the background.
You'll have to call the URL in a different way... something that doesn't create a popup window. Or execute the command that is invoked when accessing that URL.

Servlet init() method called multiple times

We have a Servlet-based application which does lengthy initialization.
We've noticed that when multiple requests arrive,
but the Servlet's init() method has not returned yet
for the first request, the application server calls init() multiple times.
You can even see this with the Fortune sample
Servlet. Starting the app server and sending 20 or 30
simultaneous requests causes multiple Fortune Servlet init messages to appear in the kjs log.
Why is this? We do not implement SingleThreadModel.
Doesn't the J2EE 1.2 spec say init will be called
only once?
How do we prevent it?
A Startup class which inits our
Servlet?
Or a synchronized block within our init method, with some checks of static member variables
so that the initialization work only happens once?
Or is there some kregedit magic or deployment descriptor change I could make?
Again, it's not a SingleThreadModel issue, so don't
point me there.
This is iAS 6.0 SP4, on Solaris, by the way.

Yes,you are right. In iAS6.0 SP4 When multiple requests arrive,and the Servlet's init() method has not returned yet for the first request, the application server calls init()multiple times. This problem is resolved in iAS 6.5.
There is no kregedit magic that will solve this problem.
Right now the workaround is any of the solution you proposed. Or use iAS6.5. I have tested it with fortune.

Action Listener Method called multiple times

I have a page (fragment .jsff), containing a simple input text and a button called "search". When I click on "Search" the action listener is triggered multiple times. (The results are displayed in a table inside a panel collection).
The results are actually coming back ok.
When I debug the code, I can see the action listener method called twice.
Do you know why is that?
What should I be taking care of?

What is the best method for multiple language interface?

Hi,
I need to adapt my CVI application to multiple languages. But I have to be able to do this on the fly. The Localizer is great for all the panel objects and this works great. But I was wondering what the best method is for all the dialog box text? Right now I'm using const char defines for the text. For exampl:

Is there a simple method, or best practice method, to load different language dialog text at run time or on the fly?

Not sure if Andy's original concern was settled... but let's try and button this up:
- The UI Localizer does use a text file with manually-written translated strings for each supported language
- From the Localizer help: this will only aid in translating the panel labels.
Use this instrument driver to easily display user interfaces in different languages. When loading a panel or menu bar, you can specify a language file that contains translations for all the labels on the panel and all the menu items. You can create different language files for the user interfaces by translating them with the User Interface Localizer utility (localui.exe).
- If you have additional content to be translated (like the text inside a drop down box), manually loading from .lwl, or similar, files and programmatically setting those dialog box entries would be the solution. - Looks like CVI should handle multibyte languages just fine (see below), though I have never used them.

hi,
PR() will be called whenever your page will load, so the number of times you will load your page all the time your PR will be called and it will call the AM method.
otherwise put some condition and call the insert method from your PR.

Why PageController method invoked multiple times per request

I have a page with a customized PageController to override the "prepareModel(LifecycleContext)" method to create bindings dynamically for the page.
I expected the overridden method only invoked once per loading/refresh of the page.
From debugging, I found the overridden method actually invoked 3 times before the page was loaded.
When I put some logic so that bindings only created the 1st time the overridden method invoked, then the page failed to show the data properly as if the binding was missing.
With some debugging, I noticed the PageController invoked multiple times when I added the af:table to the page.
Any idea why prepareModel() got invoked multiple time per loading of a page with af:table ?
How do I determine when to create bindings within prepareModel() so that bindings only created once and the page can use the binding to show the data properly?

Dashcode webapp image problems iOS 6

I created a webapp a couple of years ago using Dashcode. Simple stuff, rss, data from xml etc. A couple of 'pages' in it contain either images or pdfs that are loaded from a server. Unfortunately with iOS 6 upgrade and it seems in the latest version of Safari in OSX, the images and pdfs no longer load. Tested Chrome as well, same problem. Still works fine with iOS 5 and previous versions.
Got the latest version of Dashcode and created the site again but with no luck. Had some marginal success by embedding the images within an iframe in html but is proving very difficult to control exactly how the image displays.
I'm not particularly experienced with code, managed to get this working initially by persistence! Really need some help now though.

Apex Object Browser - Share Tables to Multiple Users

Hi all,
This is a basic question, but my googling has so far been unsuccessful.
For a new install of Oracle XE, I'd like to have multiple users be able to see and modify the same tables in the Object Browser.
I tried the "Grant" tab in Object Browser to add access, but that is not making the table(s) visible in the Object Browser to others.
I'd really appreciate any assistance! Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, but I'm afraid this didn't work. I was able to create a public synonym, but the table still doesn't appear in other users' Object Browsers...

How do I use setString() method with multiple bind variables

I have two setString() statements and a select union statement. My class compiles but only displays the data for the first table ignoring the second setString() statement. But When I replace the "where id=?" with "where id=12 or someid", it works and displays all data found in both tables.
Am I not properly using the setString() method?

This just doesnt make sense to me at all. :( Could it be a naming issue? I mean both tables have the same field names but different data information

Problem generating Web Service with business methods in multiple EJB's

I'm I a "web service novice" but I'm working with an
application which was developed in an earlier version
of Studio which has
~30 business method coming from ~12 EJB's. When I attempt
to recreate the Web Service in Java Studio Enterprise 7 (had same problem versions 5 and 6) I have trouble. When I execute the "Generate Web Service Files" command I get complilation errors in the <webservice_name>.java file. It is obvious that the

is all screwed up. Entries are missing and the closing bracket isn't even there.
Is there some user error on my part?

Is there a workaround? I can fix this particular java file and compile it sucessfully. However, I'm still missing many of the other web service files that should be generated for me.
All the tutorials on web services that I've done to looked over all get there business method from 1 EJB :(

I had a problem too. Successfully created an EJB and its test application. Tested the same using Web client and works fine. Now created a web service from EJB methods. It created the skeletons. When tried creating Web Svc test client or web svc other files..it gives me an exception saying xmlservices.jar doesnt exist in the C:\Docs and Settings\<$username>\.jstudio\Ent04Q4modules. I have searched for this file and copied (overwritten) it into this directory. But still i cant proceed further.
