Data base from Labview Base, possible?

I would like to sent my generated testreport(.txt) into a database. So that every report from every test is stored in a Data Base.
Is this possible with LabView Base 7.1 or do I have to buy Developer suite?
How do you do this?

Hi, i am working on a research project and stuck on the following problem: I have two cameras and one IMU Sensor unit, all conected to my PC. I save the camera images as avi format and the IMU sensor as TDMS format. I have also another software running on the same PC which i developed using VisualStudio2013. On this software i alredy implemented a very complex filter to fuse images and IMU. Now my quesion: would be it possibel to stream the .avi and .tdms from LabView to my software so I can test in real time how my filter is performing? Thanks, the hardware are my PC, 2 usb cameras and one usb-IMU sensor. The PC runs w7 with LabView2014. I can read the camera and IMU to my Laview without any problem and save the data on my hard desk. I am also developing another software on VS-C++ for image processing and data fusion. I would like to know what is the best (and fastest) possibility to stream this data (Images and IMU) in real time from LabView to my own software?

It looks for me that the ‘shard memory’ principle (or File Mapping) is the most convenient method. In VC++ under windows I can easily handle shared memory by calling FileMapping windows functions. Now the question is how can I do that in LabView? I am relatively new in LabView and do not know if it is possible to use shared memory in LabView. For example: is it possible in LabView to buffer both video streams and IMU-data (live) in a shared memory in computer RAM using the windows FileMaping functions (may be using .dll). Then I can access the RAM form my own software and read the stream. Please see the attachment for more description.

Possible data loss whlie transfering from Labview 7.0 into Matlab [binary]

I am kind of confused on binary data processing from labview to matlab. I tried to follow this thread by C. Minnella:

The only change I did was replacing DAQ task with Global chanel constant, since it has original scaling for the data from Load Cell (Fx Axis in particular), this is the device I am getting data from, it is in rest, sitting on the table.
I can't figureout what is happening, looks like it is clipped, besides the amplitude is not correct.

I basically followed example posted in 2006 on NI forum. I think my major concern is whether data is getting to matlab scaled correctly (it is scaled within global channel to Newtons) and looks like I am not getting the same data type in Matlab.

Problem of security using ADO from Labview to connect to Access 2000 Data Base

I have a problem using ADO from Labview to connect to Access 2000 Data Base.
First I open a ADO_DB_Engine and create a Workspace as an ODBCDirect. After I execute the open_data_base using the workspace. Here you can specify the parameter connect with /type of connection / user / password.
The problem is the following:
Although you configure a password for the Administrator user in Access, you can read/writte to data base from Labview using ADO without any security and without putting the user and password in the parameter connect. I need to access with security to data base using users and permissions but it seems that the parameter connect does not operate.

If you use ADODB_connection -> Connection.Open and set in connection string :
"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Jet OLEDBystem Database=c:\.....\Protegida5.mdw; Password=pepe;user ID=jose; Data Source:c:\......\BD5.mdb";
and after connection.execute ->
INSERT INTO tabla1 VALUES (5,'XXX'
you will be able to access to the database with security using the provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0. With this provider you have to use the path and the name of the database file c:\.....\mdb file. From this way the problem is solved. (SEE SAMPLE_ADO_W2_JET.VI).
BD5.mdb have the following administrator user: user:jose / passwordepe (Protegida5.mdw)
The problem is when you want to
use ODBC and DSN. The name of this ODBC Provider is MSDASQL;. If you use this type of connection you can not enter to the database I attach you.
This database has a new administrator owner. I deleted the default administrator. If you support the default administrator you can connect to database by ODBC / DSN but the security disappear because you can always enter to database with any password, user o PC.
FINALLY I HAVE 3 QUESTIONS FOR Application Engineers of National Instruments or someone who knows these subjects before deciding the best way to connect locally o remotely with security to Access from Labview:
1.- Is it possible to enter to Database BD5.mdb from ODBC and DSN with this owner?
2.- I want to connect remotely to Access database too. Is it possible to use Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 using the path (.mdb file) without DSN?
3. Which is the optimal Provider for Microsoft Access?

There is an example in the \TestStand\Examples\Database directory. Basically there are two ways to connect to your database.
1. You can use the TestStand database step types. There are steps for opening/closing a database connection, opening/closing an SQL statement, and a step for performing a data operation.
2. The other way is to use the TestStand database logging capability to write your results to the database. This is the way I would recommend. With database logging, you use the step results container to record all your results as the sequence runs. (This is done automatically by TestStand). When the sequence is complete, the process model calls a "Log to Database" sequence that will write the results to the database. You must define your datab
ase schema using Configure->Database Options. There are some default (or example) schema definitions already defined. Refer to chapter 18 of your TestStand manual.
Another way to log the data as the sequence is running is shown in the \TestStand\Examples\OnTheFlyReports. This has the advantage of recording data as it is obtained, but it is not as efficient in terms of using a database connection. I don't recommend using this method.
Please post again if you have any more questions. If you are using stored procedures with your database, I can probably give you some tips.

Creating a Crystal Report from a non-SAP data base

I have the following scenario
server1\myDataBase
server1\SAP\sapDataBases
in sapDataBases I have about 30 company databases. I am trying to create a report, that gets informatino from a table/view/SP from server1\myDataBase, when I try to PREVIEW or SAVE such report on SAP Business One, I always get errors as
I understand that this eerror means taht I can't invoke the data from out of SAP; it needs to be inside SAP (at least the SP, incoking some other data bases and stuff..)
Some bodies have told me that it is beacuase I can only create a report from a table/view/sp that resides in the running/currently SAP company database. Is this right?
Also, If this is the case, this means that If I have an SP taht I use for a crystal report, and 30 companies, I have to create such SP in the 30 companies?
This is my software details:
SQL Server 2012
SAP Business One 9 PL 11
SAP BusinessObjects Crystal Reports 2013 Support Pack 2 version 14.1.2.1121
What I want to do is to create a non-SAP data base to create all the SPs/Views for reports, to centralize it, and the just create one reporte and do the 30-imports in each company database, without the need of creating such sps/views in each company-database. Is this possible?

Inserting in the UUT_Results table a value that we read from our data base from a local variable

We would like to include in the UUT_Results table a value that we read from our data base into a local variable during the execution of our sequence file. We found that by modifying the configure database options we were able to add a column for this variable, but the local variable was not available to be placed into an expression for that column from the local variables or parameters. Is it possible to do this, and if so, how? Station Globals were available to be included in the expression, however the sequence file may be executed on more than one system which makes the Global unavailable on systems other than the one where the sequence file originated.

You can use the TestStand API to programmatically create global variables at runtime, thus ensuring their existence. For example, you could call Engine.Globals.SetValString("GlobalStringVariableName", PropOption_InsertIfMissing, "variable value")
Of course, if you need to test multiple UUTs in parallel, a single global is not sufficient. In that case you might consider adding the field you need to the UUT datatype in the process model. You could then access the field in your sequence via RunState.Root.Locals.UUT.YourNewField = YourNewValue.
If you also want your sequence to run without using a process model, you must check for the existence of the UUT before accessing it. You could use the expression function: PropertyExists("RunState.Root.Locals.UUT.YourNewFi

Importing music, artwork and data base from external hard drive

I purchased a MacBook to use primarily as a music server. I have an external hard drive with over 300GB of music files ripped from CDs in Apple Lossless with a computer using Windows XP. I also have another external hard drive formatted for the Mac. My goal is to attach both drives to the MacBook via USB and transfer the music files, album art, and iTunes data base from the Windows system hard drive to the new Mac formatted hard drive. Then I am going to reformat the Windows system hard drive to the Mac format and use it as a back up for the other hard drive. Has anyone ever done something similar? If so, I would appreciate some guidance. If possible, I want to do the above so that the file names and artwork from the Windows itunes system do not get changed or left out when making the transfer to the Mac system. All music files will still be in ALAC. Thanks to all for your help.

How to read a byte data from maxdb data base

I have a column named as templateData which contains the byte data (biometric template data, which comes from fingerprint device) which is DataType of LONG and CODE of BYTE.
I am not using the below to get the template data

is it me or is there no query definition in that code?
I see that you concatenate a "db_query" with a string to make up a WHERE clause, but the db_query is nowhere defined before.
So at least you should provide something like
stmt = con.createStatement("SELECT templateDate FROM <tablename> ");
before you do anything with the query.
Besides this: have you ever heard of SQL injections? Try to use BIND-variables instead of concatenating strings. Otherwise your application will spend much time just with parsing your queries...
Hmm... possibly the best thing you could do about this is to read the JAVA manual for MaxDB:

Get data from a Data Base in MySQL

Hi guys,
I'm developing an app for my exam at school. In this app I need to query my Data Base to get my data and to create a table.
The purpose of my app is to create a list of songs that a DJ has played during a concert and automatically create a table with the song titles, artist name and date of the concert. All of these information are already stored in the Data Base.
I created an interface in Xcode where the user types in the DJ name and the date. I want to query the Data Base with these information and create a table that can be view directly on the iPhone. I think that I can send the text contained in the text field to a PHP page and then the PHP page does the query.
Is it possible doing this? Can you help me with the code?

Thanks for the reply, I found the problem, i was returning no.sentDate in the form YYYY-MM-DD and method getTime doesn't like so it was returning null, so what I have done was cast(no.sentDate as datetime) and also store the difference of the dates as a long variable as I need the difference between the dates not the day of the month.
My code now looks like this:

Several points that can help more:
1. If you are working with Dot.Net, then I highly recommend read the first link that you got! This is nice and simple coding. Another option is this link which is even better in my opinion:

2. As i mention above both link use the column's type image. There are several other option of working with Files. In most of my applications architecture I find that it is better to use a column which let us use any type of file and not an image column.
In choosing the right column's type for your needs basically your fist question should be if if you want to store your data inside relational database environment or outside relational environment. It is a good idea to look for blogs on this issue. Next
if you chose to store your data inside then you need to chose the right column type according to your server version. I highly recommend to look for blogs on the differences between those column's types: IMAGE,

Adobe offline form with capablity to read data from a local data base.

Hi ,
We have customer requirement for a offline Adobe form which will be used by Sales rep, this form when saved to the local hard disk is required to read data from another local data base available in the laptop and prefill a few fields in the form .
Is this requirement technically feasible using Adobe forms?

Well may be it's possible because if you go to the Data View in ALD and create a new Data Connection --> OLEDB database --> Build --> It gives you various options for connecting to different DBs but frankly speaking I have never tried it.
Check the ALD help for more information on the topic.

Displaying images from MySQL data base

I'm currently developing a Master/Detail
page set. The MySQL table containing the Detail information includes a 'blob' (MIME: image/jpeg - Attributes - BINARY) for storing a small image. Under phpmyadmin the images show where applicable.
In my Detail page I display the results in a table. All the values display except the image.
I selected Insert > Image
When the 'Select Image Source' dialogue appeared set 'select file name from' to Data source
Selected the data base field from the established records set
I left the 'Format' as 'None'
Clicked OK
Have I omitted to set something? How does Dreamweaver or the PHP code know hto to render this field?
Hope someone can make some suggestions to resolve this.

In my desparation this morning
I even tried to set up a mirror of your example witha separate table (just the 3 fields) and even that didn't work. The Proxy member was the same as yours except that the script was changed to LocalPHP.php . Therefore I presume that the error must have been in the webpage. Unfortunately I've since deleted the code so I can't send a copy of what I used.
The only suggestions I could suggest that may help others that are novices are (1) suggested code for the webpage (2) a diagram illustrating how the elements link or relate to each other. Hope that is thought helpful.

Not enough info...
What verison of Crystal Reports are you using?
Are you sure it's hanging and you simply have to wait for the report to generate? If there are millions of records being returned and client side or second pass filtering/formatting it can take time to render that report.
Are there any errors being reported? CR will apeear to be hung, it's simply waiting for the database to start streaming the data back and appears to be not responding.
If you add record selection filtering does that retunr data?
WHY are you returning that much data? It can't possibly be of any use to anyone. Do not use CR as a database archiving tool.
