Data Blocking -- Why?

This isn't a knock on those folks who have chosen to block all data, but I'm just curious as to why it's such a big deal?
I've had my KIN TWOm for about three weeks. I use data quite a bit for things like e-mail, weather radar, sports scores, Google searches, etc.  I've never tried to block data, and very rarely use airplane mode.  I simply check to make sure the WiFi connection is active before I sync e-mail or bring up the browser. If I'm in a longer browser session, I might check the WiFi signal once in a while during the session to make sure it hasn't dropped.
In the three weeks I've had the phone, I've accumulated just under 4MB of Verizon network data usage.   I have the $10/75MB data plan, but even at $2/MB, that would be just eight bucks. Hardly worth losing sleep over. And on those infrequent occasions where I do need to check e-mail or access the web when WiFi is not available, I can still do it.  I have never seen a data charge for usage when I verified that WiFi was active.
Checking WiFi is really simple. Just pull up the dashboard and make sure the WiFi symbol is shaded dark blue, not gray. Also, if you're at a different location than the last time you used WiFi, you should go to the WiFi settings page and make sure the phone is connected to the right WiFi network -- and that it actually says, "Connected to <name of network>".  If it just lists the network, but doesn't say "Connected to...", then it's not connected.
Anyway, it's a lot faster/simpler than it sounds.
I know that some people are in situations where their kids (or someone else) has access to the phone. But otherwise, I'm just curious why so many users go to the extreme of disabling data altogether?

The reason I have data blocked is because the Wifi will drop it's signal in the middle of loading pages alot with this phone. So then if I had the 3g service it would pick it up and I would not even know. This is a common problem; if you look thru the forums there are countless people who have had this happen to them. One person even had a bill for $7000 (yes I typed that right). However, since you have the $10 plan then in your situation of course you don't want data blocked. However, for people who don't want any data plan it only makes sense to block any chance of accumulating data charges then there is no way to get usage charges. Also, it only takes a minute to block it online and you can still send/receive pics and videos.

  • Why my scroll bar of a data block doesn't work?

    Hi,
    I have a data block that displays a maximum of 9 records at one time. When the query returns more than 9 records i want to use a vertical scroll bar to navigate to the last records.
    In some forms it works fine but in others not , i still didn't find why ??
    Cheers,
    Nuno

    Nuno,
    Rather than trying to find a needle in a hay stack, I would recommend taking a step backward.  This will help to rule out whether the issue is something you caused or if there is an issue with the environment or product.
    Create a new module in the Builder.  Do not add any of your own code.
    In the Builder, connect to a database (File > Connect).
    From the Builder menu, select Tools > Data Block Wizard
    In the Wizard first screen (after Welcome), select Table or View then click Next
    On the next screen, click on Browse to display the tables available to you.  Choose one.
    All the columns in that table should appear on the left.  Click on the double arrow (>>) to select all of them.  Then click on Next
    Click on Next again
    Choose the option to create the data block then open the Layout Wizard.  Then click Finish
    In the Layout Wizard, click on Next (after the Welcome scree) to choose the default Canvas.  Then click on Next
    Click on the double arrow (>>) to choose all columns. Then click Next
    Click Next again.
    Choose Tabular as the layout style.  Click on Next
    Change Records Displayed to 4 and check the box labeled "Display scroll bar".
    Click on Finish
    Again, do not make any changes to anything in this form.  Run it.  Does it reproduce the same problem you experience in your previous form?  If this form works correctly, likely the issue is in the design of your other form.  If this test form fails in the same manner then you are either exposing a defect or there is an odd configuration issue.

  • Data blocks in forms 6i, can not see the data

    i have built an application in forms with some data blocks. the blocks a connect to some tables in the db. i have built them connectd as "system". but when i run the applicatio as user x i can do select, insert, update, delete, but i can not se the records in the datablocks (they are empty), but i can do all transactios. why?

    First of all, developing from the System schema is not a good idea.
    Who owns the tables your form is connecting to? The table owner should create a public synonym for each table name, and also needs to grant user x access to the table.

    Duh, and of course I missed the significance of
    oracle 10 Xe in unix
    XE is only supported for Linux - according to the downloads page that means "Debian, Mandriva, Novell, Red Hat and Ubuntu".
    Oracle have not publically stated the reasons why XE is only available on Linux and Windows, but my guess is that it is something to do the Intel chip architecture. If this is so it would be possible for Oracle to port XE to run on Solaris for x86. But they have not done so yet.
    Which means, alas, that you are unlikely to get any help for this one, because XE is not supported on any unix platform.
    Good luck, APC

  • Data Concurrency and Consistency ( SCN , DATA block)

    Hi guys, i am getting very very very confused about how oracle implement consistency / multiversioning with regards to SCN in a data block and transaction list in the data block..
    I will list out what i know so you guys can gauge me on where i am..
    When a SELECT statement is issued, SCN for the select query is determined. Then Blocks with higher SCN are rebuilt from the RBS.
    Q1) The SCN in the block implied here - is it different from the SCNs in the transaction list of the block ? where is this SCN store ? where is the transaction list store ? how is the SCN of the block related with the SCNs in the transaction list of the block ?
    Q2) can someone tell me what happen to the BLOCK SCN and the transaction list
    of the BLOCK when a transaction start to update to a row in the block occurs.
    Q3) If the BLOCK SCN reflects the latest change made to the block and If the SCN of the block is higher then the SCN of the SELECT query, it means that the block has change since the start of the SELECT query, but it DOESNT mean that the row (data) that the SELECT query requires has changed.
    Therefore why cant ORACLE just check to see whether the row has changed and if it has, rebuilt a block from the RBS ?
    Q4) when ORACLE compares the BLOCK SCN, does it only SCAN for the BLOCK SCN or does it also SEARCH through the TRANSACTION LIST ? or it does both ? and why ?
    Q5) is transaction SCN same as Transaction ID ? which is store in the RBS , the transaction SCN or ID ?
    Q6) in short i am confuse with the relationship between BLOCK SCN, transaction list SCN, their location, their usage and relationship of the BLOCK SCN and transaction list when doing a SELECT, their link with RBS..
    any gurus clear to give me a clearer view of what is actually happening ?

    Hi Aman
    Hmm agreed.So when commit is issued , what happens at that time?Simply put:
    - The SCN for the transaction is determined.
    - The transaction is marked as committed in the undo header (the commit SCN is also stored in the undo header).
    - If fast cleanout takes place, the commit SCN is also stored in the ITL. If not, the ITL (i.e. the modified data blocks) are not modified.
    So at commit, Oracle will replace the begin scn in the ITL with this scn
    and this will tell that the block is finally committed is it?The ITL does not contain the begin SCN. The undo header (specifically the transaction table) contains it.
    I lost here.In the ITL , the scn is transaction SCN or commit scn?As I just wrote, the ITL contains (if the cleanout occured) the commit SCN.
    This sounds like high RBA information?What is RBA?
    Commit SCNThis is the SCN associated with a committed transaction.
    Begin SCNThis is the SCN at which a transaction started.
    Transaction SCNAs I wrote, IMO, this is the same as the commit SCN.
    Also please explain that what exactly the ITL stores?If you print an ITL slot, you see the following information:
    BBED> print ktbbhitl[0]
    struct ktbbhitl[0], 24 bytes     @44
          struct ktbitxid, 8 bytes    @44
             ub2 kxidusn              @44       0x0009

             ub2 kubaseq              @56       0x3ed6
             ub1 kubarec              @58       0x4e
          ub2 ktbitflg                @60       0x2045 (KTBFUPB)
          union _ktbitun, 2 bytes     @62
             b2 _ktbitfsc             @62       0
             ub2 _ktbitwrp            @62       0x0000
          ub4 ktbitbas                @64       0x06f4c2a3- ktbitxid --> XID, the transaction holding the ITL slot
    - ktbituba --> UBA, used to locate the undo information
    - ktbitflg --> flags (active, committed, cleaned out, ...)
    - _ktbitfsc --> free space generated by this transaction in this block
    - _ktbitwrp+ktbitbas --> commit SCN

  • Space utilization and optimal row size in Data Blocks in Oracle 11g

    Hi,
    My main concern till now is to find the Optimal no. of rows/tuples per one oracle data block of size 8192. For that purpose i'm doing different kind of testing.
    I created one table:
    SQL> create table t5
    2 (x char(2000));
    Table created.
    Inserted 4 rows in it.
    Queried to check in which block no's these 4 rows exist.
    SQL> SELECT x,DBMS_ROWID.ROWID_BLOCK_NUMBER(rowid) "Block No."
    2 from t5;
    x Block No.
    A 422
    B 422
    C 422
    D 423
    SQL> analyze table t5 compute statistics;
    Table analyzed.
    SQL> select LOGGING,BACKED_UP,NUM_ROWS,BLOCKS,EMPTY_BLOCKS, AVG_SPACE,CHAIN_CNT, AVG_ROW_LEN
    2 from user_tables
    3 where table_name = 'T5';
    LOG B NUM_ROWS BLOCKS EMPTY_BLOCKS AVG_SPACE CHAIN_CNT AVG_ROW_LEN . YES N 4 5 3 6466 0 2006 .
    8 data blocks are initially allocated. but my question is that while creating table of even small sizes, every time i'm seeing that it shows BLOCKS (used) are 5.
    why 3 block are EMPTY_BLOCKS allocated all the time?
    AVG_SPACE is the FREE space in every BLOCK that is used if i'm not wrong?
    In this scenerio 3 rows (each of around 2006 bytes) are inserted into into one BLOCK of 8192 i.e. 8192-6006=2186. 2186 is the PCTFREE or what?
    How can I see this CHAIN_CNT column value other than 0?
    How can actually I find the optimal no. of rows/tuples in 1 data block that will not increase OVERHEAD on the system.
    I'll highly appreciate the genuine help and solid suggestions.
    Thanks in Advance.

    In this scenerio 3 rows (each of around 2006 bytes) are inserted into into one BLOCK of 8192 i.e. 8192-6006=2186. 2186 is the PCTFREE or
    what?PCTFREE is a percentage. You haven't specified what you set it to, but that decreases the space in a block available for inserts to 8192 * (1 - PCTFREE/100).
    How can I see this CHAIN_CNT column value other than 0?Why do you believe there would be chained rows? You would need to use the ANALYZE command to populate the CHAIN_CNT column.
    How can actually I find the optimal no. of rows/tuples in 1 data block that will not increase OVERHEAD on the system.Since you can't disclose what "optimal" means or what "overhead" you're concerned with, I don't see how this question could be answered.

  • Query Execution/Elapsed Time and Oracle Data Blocks

    Hi,
    I have created 3 tables with one column only. As an example Table 1 below:
    SQL> create table T1 ( x char(2000));
    So 3 tables are created in this way i.e. T1,T2 and T3.
    T1 = in the default database tablespace of 8k (11g v11.1.0.6.0 - Production) (O.S=Windows).
    T2 = I created in a Tablespace with Blocksize 16k.
    T3 = I created in a Tablespace with Blocksize 4k. In the same Instance.
    Each table has approx. 500 rows (So, table sizes are same in all the cases to test Query execution time ). As these 3 tables are created under different data block sizes so the ALLOCATED no. of data blocks are different in all cases.
    T1  =   8k  = 256 Blocks =  00:00:04.76 (query execution time/elapsed time)
    T2  = 16k=121 Blocks =  00:00:04.64
    T3 =   4k =  490 Blocks =  00:00:04.91
    Table Access is FULL i.e. I have used select * from table_name; in all 3 cases. No Index nothing.
    My Question is why query execution time is nearly the same in all 3 cases because Oracle has to read all the data blocks in each case to fetch the records and there is a much difference in the allocated no. of blocks ???
    In 4k block size example, Oracle has to read just 121 blocks and it's taking nearly the same time as it's taking to read 490 blocks???
    This is just 1 example of different data blocks. I have around 40 tables in each block size tablespace and the result are nearly the same. It's very strange for me because there is a much difference in the no. of allocated blocks but execution time is almost the same, only difference in milliseconds.
    I'll highly appreciate the expert opinions.
    Bundle of thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,

    Hi Chris,
    No I'm not using separate databases, it's 8k database with non-standard blocksizes of 16k and 4k.
    Actually I wanted to test the Elapsed time of these 3 tables, so for that I tried to create the same size
    tables.
    And how I equalize these is like I have created one column table with char(2000).
    555 MB is the figure I wanted to use for these 3 tables ( no special figure, just to make it bigger than the
    RAM used for my db at the db startup to be sure of not retrieving the records from cache).
    so row size with overhead is 2006 * 290,000 rows = 581740000(bytes) / 1024 = 568105KB / 1024 = 555MB.
    Through this math calculation I thought It will be the total table size. So I Created the same no. of rows in 3 blocksizes.
    If it's wrong then what a mes because I was calculating tables sizes in the same way from the last few months.
    Can you please explain a little how you found out the tables sizes in different block sizes.Though I understood how you
    calculated size in MB from these 3 block sizes
    T8K =97177 BLOCKS=759MB *( 97177*8 = 777416KB / 1024 = 759MB )*
    T16K=41639 BLOCKS=650MB
    BT4K=293656 BLOCKS=1147MB
    For me it's new to calculate the size of a table. Can you please tell me then how many rows I can create in each of
    these 3 tables to make them equal in MB to test for elapsed time.
    Then I'll again run my test and put the results here. Because If I've wrongly calculated table sizes then there is no need to talk about elapsed time. First I must equalize the table sizes properly.
    SQL> select sum(bytes)/1024/1024 "Size in MB" from dba_segments> 2 where segment_name = 'T16K';
    Size in MB
    655
    Is above SQL is correct to calculate the size or is it the correct alternative way to your method of calculating the size??
    I created the same table again with everything same and the result is :
    SQL> select num_rows,blocks from user_tables where table_name = 'T16K';NUM_ROWS BLOCKS
    290000 41703
    64 more blocks are allocated this time so may be that's y it's showing total size of 655 instead of 650.
    Thanks alot for your help.

  • Using a second table in a Database Data Block ??

    In a Form, I have a Data Block which is a Database Data Block. The Items are associated with columns in a table.
    I want the items in this repeating block to show in a different order. To do this, I need to use a second table and say where table1.key = table2.key ....
    I keep getting problems at runtime with
    ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined
    I tried to qualify everywhere a column name is used. When I do show error it shows
    SELECT ROWID, ....
    And then the "column ambiguously defined".
    I do not have an item in my Form for ROWID. Maybe it is automatic. (This form DOES do update).
    Is it possible to use two tables in a Data Block like this?
    Thanks

    If you only need to order the records in the block, why not defining the "ORDER BY" clause in the block's property??
    Set the "ORDER BY" clause at design time from the property palette of the block or runtime with column of your choice.
    at runtime your can use:
    SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('your_block', ORDER_BY, 'your_column');If you need to join to tables in one block read the [Block Based on Join|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/BlockOnAJoin.pdf] Documentation.

  • Switch data block - Do you want to save changes ?

    As soon as I choose a record from my love "ORDERS_LOV", I simply want to display a new canvas and switch data blocks. but why does the system keep asking me to save changes when I choose a record ???
    Here's my code:
    IF SHOW_LOV('ORDERS_LOV') THEN
         HIDE_WINDOW('CUSTOMER_SERVICE');
         SHOW_VIEW('ORDERS_CANVAS');
         GO_BLOCK('ORDERS');
         GO_ITEM('orders.order_id');
         Execute_Query;
    ELSE
         MESSAGE('No order found for this customer');
    END IF;

    why does the system keep asking me to save changes when I choose a record ???Because the Execute_Query causes the 'Orders' block to clear, and at some prior time you have
    either entered a new record into the block, or else your prior Execute_Query caused a Post-Query
    trigger to run that set values in items that cause the record status go change from QUERY to CHANGED.
    In other words, the status of your 'Orders' block is 'CHANGED', and not 'NEW' or 'QUERY'.

  • Forms Data-Block based on stored procedures - REF CURSOR feature NOT FUNCTIONING

    This topic is related to another topic in this forum titled "FORMS HOW TO SET QUERY SOURCE ARGUMENTS??" I posted my message there as well. I am posting as a NEW TOPIC so that it catches the attention of Oracle Support.
    I built a data form based on a stored procedure and REF CURSOR IN OUT parameter.
    My procedure takes a IN parameter to fill in the criteria for the OPEN <cursor_variable> select ... where ... statement.
    In the Value setting of the Query source Arguments , I set the VALUE to ":BLOCK_NAME.ITEM_NAME" at design time to supply the input value to the procedure. this works to the extent of making available the form item value to the stored procedure parameter. I verified this by doing an insert into some debug table , of the incoming parameter value inside my stored procedure.
    The cursor gets opened properly into the REF cursor variable. I verified this by fetching a record into a local variable and inserting the value into a debug table again in the stored procedure.
    (I took care to close and re-open the REF cursor variable again - so that the front-end can continue to fetch it from the first record. )
    ***** PROBLEM **************
    But the front end forms runtime is giving me a FRM-40301 - query returned no records even though the REF cursor is returned properly opened.
    Did anybody else face the same problem ??
    Please post what you found.
    Thanks,

    This topic is discussed at length in another thread "How Set Value For Query DataSource Arguments?"
    But I am posting the findings here as well.
    THIS TOPIC IS CLOSED.
    My Bad. The problem Cause : I did not include all columns in the
    cursor rowtype in the Data-block. In the wizard for the data block , I selected ONLY the columns that I needed. But I was doing a Select * from <my_table> in my open cursor <Cursor-Variable> .... The <Cursor Variable>
    itself was declared <my_table>%rowtype
    FIX : The Data Block structure (columns included as items) should match the cursor record Structure. One may or may not
    display all the columns in the LAYOUT though.
    But I don't understand why it gives such a misleading message like FRM-40301 Query retrieved no records. Oracle Team fix it.
    Hope this helps people who face the same problem.

  • Data block's table layout complicate command button?

    Why after I create a data block's layout using table format,
    when I try to insert a command button into the canvas, the
    button always appear like a concatenated buttons (i.e. if I have
    5 rows in the tabular format for displaying the data block, my
    command button becomes 5 buttons glued side by side together)?
    Advice, anyone?

    Hello Andy,
    See, when you are attaching a command button to the data block
    you created to show 5 rows, its definitely going to show you 5
    buttons in a stack manner.
    There are two ways to show one button.
    1> You should create a control block (non base table) in the
    form and attach the button there. Rows displayed property of
    this block should be 1.
    2> Open the property palette of the button in the data block.
    Change the value of "No. of Items displayed property" to 1.
    Hope this will solve your problem.

  • Relationship between a data block and latch

    Hello Experts,
    I have just read an article about indexes and full table scan by Richard Foote. http://richardfoote.wordpress.com/2009/04/16/indexes-on-small-tables-part-i-one-of-the-few/
    I thought each block required only one latch for each operation. However, I don't undersand that why a single block required 2 latch? The qoute is the following,
    Note that yes indeed, there were 4 consistent gets performed and that none of the consistent gets were the “cheaper” consistent gets examinations. Therefore, the 4 consistent gets used in performing the FTS of the one block table required 4 x 2 = 8 latches.
    Can anyone explain the above quote please?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Sir,
    I have just read Memory Architecture document, buffer states part, I know the meaning of dirty buffers. However, when we just SELECT any table, the corresponding data blocks that read into memory from disk, are they considered as clean buffers? Because as far as I understand from dirty buffers, these are modified buffers. And maybe the manual should have used "clean" instead of "free"?
    The database uses a sophisticated algorithm to make buffer access efficient. Pointers to dirty and nondirty buffers exist on the same least recently used (LRU) list, which has a hot end and cold end. A coldbuffer is one that has not been recently used. A hot buffer is frequently accessed and has been recently used
    Also the above statement is excerpt from Oracle Memory Architecture document, does the nondirty buffers refer to data blocks that move to the memory in SELECT query?
    Thanks a lot for your remarkable thoughts.

    Is there a way to loop through every item in every data block and set the property of a format mask?

                             END IF;
                        END LOOP;
               END IF;
      END LOOP;
         end;Here is updated new code. I am currently trying to debug it, it has crashed my form on the server when tied to a button press.
    EDIT: So far I have found that it infinitely loops through the first 3 items and a null item in the first block. Still looking into why...
    EDIT: Some code changes to temporarily stop infinite loop and make v_currentblock actually change. Still loops through same 3 items in the first data block even though v_currentblock changes.

  • Ora-01578 data block got corrupted

    hi folks,
    im running oracle9i and using VB6.0 as my front-end. suddenly in my application i got the above error and after a couple of minutes everything is fine.
    i would like to know from the guru's and pandits of oracle why this error occurs and what is the best solution to avoid these type of errors in future.
    thanks to one n all
    have a nice day n night as well

    First you need to find out the corrupted block details using available different methods, that is, ANALYZE, DB_VERIFY, DBMS_REPAIR, DB_BLOCK_CHECKING etc., and correct or repair the data block corruption
    For more details on how to detect and repair the data block corruption, take a look at the below Oracle Documentations.

  • Tree node retrieving data for the 1st node only for 3 data blocks ?!

    Hello alllll
    i have 3 DATA BLOCKS MAster-Detail-Detail ; GL_TYPES -< GL_ACCOUNTS -< GL_COMPANIES
    The Rel between 1 & 2 is
    GL_ACCOUNTS.TYPE_ID = GL_TYPES.TYPE_IDThe Rel between 2 & 3 is
    GL_COMPANIES.ACCOUNT_ID = GL_ACCOUNTS.ACCOUNT_IDi also have a Treewhich is retrieving data in the opposite data blocks the following code used in WHEN-TREE-NODE-SELECTED Trigger and it works fine but not for every node ;
    the node selected shows data for the first node only; Say Assets but if i selected any other node it doesn't return any data ?
    could any boady pls explain to me why is that happening ?
    The following code is:
    DECLARE
            htree ITEM;
            NODE_VALUE VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
    IF :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE_SELECTED = 'TRUE' THEN
    -- Find the tree itself.
    htree := FIND_ITEM ('BL_TREE.IT_TREE');
      NODE_VALUE := FTREE.GET_TREE_NODE_PROPERTY( htree, :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE ,  Ftree.NODE_VALUE );
      GO_BLOCK ('GL_ACCOUNTS');
       set_block_property('GL_ACCOUNTS', DEFAULT_WHERE, 'GL_ACCOUNTS.ACCOUNT_ID = '  ||
       ftree.get_tree_node_property('BL_TREE.IT_TREE', :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE, FTREE.NODE_VALUE));
    EXECUTE_QUERY;
    END IF;
    END;

    Hello Ammad Ahmed
    Thanks really for reply ,i appreciate... :)
    Can you explain little more what is the meaning of this?a tree block on canvas beside 3 data blockS out of 2 tables as follows
    SQL> desc GL_ACCOUNTS
    Name                                      Null?    Type
    ACCOUNT_ID                                NOT NULL NUMBER(10)
    TYPE_ID                                   NOT NULL NUMBER(1)
    ACCOUNT_NAME                              NOT NULL VARCHAR2(100)
    IS_CLOSED                                 NOT NULL NUMBER(1)
    ACCOUNT_ID_PARENT                                  NUMBER(10)
    SQL> desc GL_COMPANY_COA
    Name                                      Null?    Type
    ACCOUNT_ID                                NOT NULL NUMBER(10)
    COMPANY_ID                                NOT NULL NUMBER(2)only table GL_ACCOUNTS has a self rel so on data blocks on forms i have out of these 2 tables 3 data blocks in the following order
    GL_ACCOUNTS_PARENT on GL_ACCOUNTS has a where clause on it's property;
    account_id in ( select distinct account_id_parent from gl_accounts ) on GL_ACCOUNTS_PARENT block i am displaying on 1 row:
    1. the account_id ,
    2. the account
    3. name and account_type_name in a LOV
    on the second block GL_ACCOUNTS depending on the GL_ACCOUNTS table also am displaying muti rows :
    1. the account_id ,
    2. the account
    and a relation on form
    GL_ACCOUNTS.TYPE_ID = GL_ACCOUNTS_PARENT.TYPE_ID AND
    GL_ACCOUNTS.ACCOUNT_ID_PARENT = GL_ACCOUNTS_PARENT.ACCOUNT_IDon the third block GL_COMPANY_COA depending on the table GL_COMPANY_COA
    am displaying the company_id & company_name in multi_rows
    GL_COMPANY_COA.ACCOUNT_ID = GL_ACCOUNTS.ACCOUNT_ID
    how the data will be looking in data blocksam using the following link -> Large trees - using partial tree population
    http://andreas.weiden.orcl.over-blog.de/article-29307730.html
    PROCEDURE PR_FILL_TREE IS
        CURSOR crTop IS
          SELECT ACCOUNT_ID VALUE,
                 ACCOUNT_NAME LABEL
            FROM GL_ACCOUNTS
           WHERE ACCOUNT_ID_PARENT IS NULL
           ORDER BY type_id, ACCOUNT_id;
        nd FTree.NODE;
      BEGIN
          Ftree.DELETE_TREE_NODE(itTree, FTree.ROOT_NODE);
          FOR rec IN crTop LOOP
              nd:=FK_ADD_NODE(Ftree.ROOT_NODE, rec.VALUE , rec.LABEL);
              PR_QUERY_DETAILS(nd, rec.VALUE);
          END LOOP;
      END;
      if any unclear... pls notify me...!
