Data dictionary corruption
Hi all,
How to identify the logical corruption of data dictionary ?How to identify which all objects are corrupted ?
How to overcome it ?
Thnx
In a logical corruption, the contents of the block are logically inconsistent. Examples of logical corruption include corruption of a row piece or index entry. Block corruptions can also be divided into interblock corruption and intrablock corruption. In intrablock corruption, the corruption occurs within the block itself and can be either physical or logical corruption. In an interblock corruption, the corruption occurs between blocks and can only be logical corruption. A data corruption outage occurs when a hardware, software or network component causes corrupt data to be read or written. The service level impact of a data corruption outage may vary, from a small portion of the database (down to a single database block) to a large portion of the database (making it essentially unusable).
To check for logical corruption, you need to use the backup validate check logical (database||datafile X) syntax.

SQL remote query and data-dictionary
Hi,
We are considering the implementation of SAP Business One 2005. I've installed a demo version but in order for it to continue to support some business functions I need to perform a number of SQL queries against the data. Unfortunately I'm having difficulties in getting the answer from our reseller.
Does anyone know the answers to the following question. I'd very much appreciate some help.
1) Is there a data-dictionary document showing which tables perform which roles and the associated joins/associations.
2) Is it 'advised' to open the SAP datasource directly to perform a SELECT query to obtain the results or should a third-party tool be used?
3) Do I need the SDK if I want to perform direct SELECT queries or if I want to automate posting invoices to SAP? We have competent programmers in the company - I believe they use VB6 and VB.net.
4) Is there an example if I simply wanted to query all suppliers within SAP? (e.g. SELECT NAME FROM Supplier_tbl...etc..etc)
Any help would be very much appreciated - it's a huge application and I'm struggling a little.
Many thanks,
Gavin Russell.Gavin,
The forum that you have posted your questions in is or questions related to the SAP Business One Integration for SAP NetWeaver. Your questions seem to be along the line of general data access to SAP Business One. You should typically post those types of questions in the SAP Business One Discussion Forum or the SAP Business One SDK Discussion Forum.
As to your questions ...
1. The definition of the SAP Business One table schema is part of the SAP Business One SDK Help Center documentation. You simply need to install the SAP Business One SDK Help and you will have it. There is not a "data dictionary" other than this documentation.
2. Typically any direct access to SAP Business One data using SQL is discouraged as if data corruption occurs as a result of it, the environment would not then be supported by SAP.
3. If you want to push data into SAP Business One, as stated, direct access to the Business One database is forbidden. You would use the SAP Business One SDK for this.
4. You can use the SAP Business One Query Manager/Wizard in the SAP Business One product which in essence is performing SQL type SELECTS for data on Business One tables.

Partition shows no records in Data Dictionary
Wondering if anyone has seen this and can explain? The data dictionary shows no records in the second and thrid of the following partitions, but there are 1.5M records in the second one. Are the summaries Oracle keeps correct?

nullISE 1.2 Dashboard Statics do not update
CSCul94611
Description
Symptom:
Issue with the Live dashboard in ISE 1.1.4 not displaying information and only showing "No Data Available".
The Dash Board will run and work for awhile, but it will randomly stop updating any statistics on the dashboard.
Data will show and is seen in the database, but never updates per incoming/outgoing endpoints.
Live authentications will work fine as well as all users are able to be authenticated. Customer reports do not produce data.
Seen on multiple customer's deployments with fresh installs, a fresh install with a backup from a previous 1.1.x version, as well as upgrading to 1.1.4 from any earlier 1.1.x version.
Conditions:
Cisco ISE 1.2 or 1.1.4
Any browser
Distributed or single node deployment.
Workaround:
The workaround that fixes this M&T corruption is to enter the following commands below:
ms-ise-mgm01/admin# app config ise
Selection ISE configuration option
[1]Reset Active Directory settings to defaults
[2]Display Active Directory settings
[3]Configure Active Directory settings
[4]Restart/Apply Active Directory settings
[5]Clear Active Directory Trusts Cache and restart/apply Active Directory settings
[6]Enable/Disable ERS API
[7]Reset M&T Session Database
[8]Rebuild M&T Unusable Indexes
[9]Purge M&T Operational Data
[10]Reset M&T Database
[11]Refresh M&T Database Statistics
[12]Display Profiler Statistics
[13]Exit
We need to select the following options:
7 to reset the session db
10 to reset the M&T database
11 to refresh the statistics (Possibly do not need. Was only needed in 1 case.)
Once you have run these commands the DashBoard should begin to display information.
This process can take up to 12 hours to complete all three steps. Roughly 1 to 3 hours per option selected.

DATA BLOCK CORRUPTION : ORA-1578
ORACLE SERVER
DATA BLOCK CORRUPTION : ORA-1578
=========================================
<해결 방법>
SQL>select segment_name, segment_type
from dba_extents
where file_id = f and
b between block_id and block_id + blocks - 1;
SQL> select rowidtochar(rowid) from emp;
rowid는 총 18자로 block address(8자), dot(1자), row address(4자),
dot(1자), file address(4자)로 구성되어 있다.
SQL> select empno, rowid
from emp
where empno > 0
EMPNO ROWID
100 00000003.0000.0006
101 00000003.0001.0006
102 00000003.0002.0006
103 00000003.0003.0006
500 00000004.0000.000A
501 00000004.0001.000A
755 0000001A.0005.000A
756 0000001A.000C.000A
SQL> select empno, rowid
from emp
where empno > '';
01578, 00000, "ORACLE data block corrupted (file # 10, block # 4)
SQL> select empno from emp
where empno > 0
and rowidtochar(rowid) like '00000004.%.000A';
EMPNO ROWID
500 00000004.0000.000A
501 00000004.0001.000A
SQL> create table temp
as select * from emp
where 1 = 2;
SQL> insert into temp select * from emp where empno < 500;
SQL> insert into temp select * from emp where empno > 501;
SQL> create table empnos as
select empno from emp
where empno > 0
and rowidtochar(rowid) not like '00000004.%.000A';
SQL> create table temp as select * from emp where 1 = 2;
SQL> insert into temp
select emp.empno, emp.ename, emp.deptno
from emp, empnos
where emp.empno > 0
and emp.empno = empnos.empno;

Select schemas from relational model on import from data dictionary option
Hi All,
I have one relational model with 3 diferent schemas,
I want to compare one of my schemas with the data dictionary I have in a database,
I select the import option in the general file menu, select from data dictionary option,
select the connection from my database,swap target model checked,select a physical model and select the objects i want to compare from the database,
My problem is that the result is the comparison between all the objects in my model and the objects in the database that I have selected,
what I really want is to compare a list of objects in my model to a list of objects in my database,
this could be possible? or always need to compare all the objects of the model?
Thanks in advanceHi jbellver,
there is no any development in DM 3.1.0.691 on that problem. In production release you'll be able to compare objects in subview with database or just to select several objects and compare them with database. And of course "generate in DDl" filtering still can be used - it works at "Compare dialog" level.

Data Dictionary View for Procedure Text
Hi,
Is there a data-dictionary where I can see the body of procedures. In fact, I received a request from a collegue to give him the procedure name which access a table "table_1".
So, my idea is to write a query as follows:
SELECT <procedure_name> FROM <data_dictionary> WHERE <text> LIKE '%table_1%'.
Thanks in advance.You can try with DBA_SOURCE or USER_SOURCE.
i.e.
SELECT NAME FROM DBA_SOURCE
WHERE OWNER='<OWNER NAME>'
AND TYPE='PROCEDURE'
AND TEXT LIKE '%table_1%';

Comments not imported from Data Dictionary of SQL Server. SDDM 3.3.0.747
Hi,
SDDM 3.3.0.747 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit.
Comments are not imported from Data Dictionary of SQL Server 2008. Connection through Microsoft JDBC Driver 4.0 for SQL Server or jTDS 1.2.7
What I have tried? In SDDM DDL generation, Comments in DBRMS for SQL Server are generated with "EXEC sp_addextendedproperty 'MS_Description' , 'Test Comment' ..." so I added extended property named "MS_Description" into SQL Server database, both on table and column. None of them were imported from Data Dictionary into SSDM. I have tried both drivers stated above. Is it a bug or am I missing something?
I've found similar question thread Re: Data dictionary import doesn't import column comments for SDDM 3.0.0.665, so I guess it is a bug when importing with JDBC drivers.

Edited by: MiGli_1006342 on May 25, 2013 9:02 AMExtended properties were not imported correctly from SQLServer databases at DM 3.3.0.747.
Calls to sp_addextendedproperty and fn_listextendedproperty have been modified.
I don't think it is a problem with JDBC drivers.
A bug fix should be available in the next release of DM. -
SQL modeler can not import from data dictionary
It was very frustruted to see that the SQL Modeler hang in import from data dictionary of a database as part of revise engineering. I have to question myself if sql modeler is a serious tool and should I give up.
I am not sure if Data Modeller is still in Beta./Production. First couple off initial versions of a new product are normally buggy.
Regards
Alternatively, If this product is still in Beta, then you can contact the development team or report the issue so that they can take care of this issue in next beta release.

AFAIK , its no. You can check the path from the show parameter command like following,
SQL> show parameter spfile

VALUE
spfile string

Table or view does not exist - Data Dictionary Import Wizard(Data Modeler)
Hi All,
In Data Modeler, Data Dictionary Import Wizard, I'm able to connect to database.But while going to the second stage (Select Schema/Database), I'm getting an error "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist".
I am able to select the table with select * from all_tables and I can open many tables as well.
Could anyone tell me, whether I'm missing any privilege, that causing this error.
Thanks in advance for you support.

How to create a line type in data dictionary
How to create a line type in data dictionary?Please explain step by step?
Thanks & Regads,
SairamHi,
the details abbout the line type.
The line type of a table type can be defined by:
o Specification of a type that already exists (data element,
structure, table type, table, view) whose properties are then copie
as properties of the defined table line.
o Direct type input, where data type, number of positions, and, if
required, decimal places, are entered directly.
o Specification of a reference type.
and SE11 and click on datatype and click on table type and enter the line type.
Thanks
Shiva
