Data from last request loaded

Hi
I am working on BI 7.0 IP.
We have a requirement wherein the users, after entering the data in plan mode and saving, should be able to view the data immediately through reports.
In BW 3.5, with the "last request" variable in Request id, all the requests in yellow (where the status is not ok, which is the case for BPS data till 50000 records are accumulated) are shown, including the previous green requests.
In 7.0, by choosing the same variable, I am able to get only the plan data and all the previous records are not coming up. If I do not include the same, I am not getting the latest planned data.
Does anybody come across this issue ?
Any suggestions ?

Thanks for the response. I have also got another from Peter Jones, which is through the variables...reproducing below..
just tried the same scenario with infopackage variables - Most Current Data (0S_RQMRC) and also with the variable - most current data (transactional infocube) - (0S_RQTRA) and they both are working fine. both show the lastest data and the data that is in the 'yellow' request id and the 'green' requests. will look for additional details...Pete

you can create connection from EAS to SAP .. using a plug-in .. if you have access to oracle Support go for [ID 968961.1]
or
below are steps
1. In EASPATH\console, open components.xml in a text editor.
2. Under <PluginList>, enter <Plugin archiveName="SAP" packageName="com.essbase.eas.sap.ui"/> before the closing </PlugIn> tag.
3. Save and close the file.
4. In EASPATH\console\bin, open admincon.lax in a text editor.
5. Search for lax.class.path= and append ;..\lib\sap_client.jar;..\lib \sap_common.jar to the entry. Save and close the file.
6. In EASPATH\server\bin, open adminsvr.lax in a text editor.
7. Search for lax.nl.java.option.additional, and append -DRFC_INI=EASPATH\server\saprfc.ini. Save and close the file.
8. Create a new environment variable, RFC_INI, with a value of EASPATH\server\saprfc.ini
9. Copy librfc.dll andsapjcorfc.dll to EASPATH\server\bin. You may need to obtain these files from SAP.

How to Extract data from a Request management tool to Apex to avoid working on Excel reports

Client uses a ticketing tool,I donot know what is the database for the tool,but I would like to know the best way to extract data from the tool to pex so that we can eliminate working on Excel reports.These excel reports are basically the open request log,resolved tickets,aging tickets etc,currently we work on many excel reports,can we achieve this in Apex ,if so how do we achieve this.Then we would like to use this report and prepare multiple charts,how the above two requirements can be mapped.

A very important function for the system will be - one sends an email in certain format to a dummy email address, then some data will be extracted from the email based on the pre-defined format and inserted into the database my APEX application is using.
Any idea on how I can make it happen please? I agree that this is not really an Apex question, but a more general PL/SQL question.
There are many approaches, all boiling down to one of these two:
1) Push: Some process in the mail server sends/forwards information to your database when new mail arrives.
The language/tools used to do this, and the way it would connect to your database, depends on your environment (what is your operating system? mail server? existing middleware/tools? security protocols used? etc.).
2) Pull: Some process in the database contacts the mail server and polls for new information.
Ie. some PL/SQL code would communicate with the mail server. Again, it depends on your environment (what is your operating system? mail server? existing middleware/tools? security protocols used? etc.).
For example, if you are using Exchange 2007 or newer, it has a web services API:

The challenge here will be to build the correct SOAP requests from PL/SQL, and to handle the security protocols used.

Extract Data from XML and Load into table using SQL*Loader

Hi All,
We have a XML file (sample.xml) which contains credit card transaction information. We have a standard SQL*Loader control file which loads the data from a flat file and the control file code is written as position based method. Our requirement is to use this control file as per our requirement(i.e) load the data into the table from our XML file), But we need help in converting the XML to a flat file or Extract the data from the XML tags and pass the information to the control file and in turn it loads the table.
Your suggestion is highly appreciated.

First of all go to PSA maintanance ( Where you will see PSA records ).
Goto list---> Save-> File---> Spreadsheet (Choose Radio Button)
> Give the proper file name where you want to download and then-----> Generate.
You will get ur PSA data in Excel Format.

How do you transfer personal dates from last yr calendar into 2011 calendar

I would like to just update photos for my new 2011 calendar and not have to manually enter all the personal Birthdays, etc. that I entered on last years calendar.
Is there a way to do that?
I tried to just duplicate the calendar from last year and then change the year to 2011 but it only brought over the photos, not the personal dates I had entered on last years calendar.
I NEED HELP PLEASE as this is a gift for Grandparents and I don't have time to re-enter dates!!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Yes, there is a way. First open iCal, create a new calendar for birthdays and anniversaries and enter the text you want in each of the dates for birthdays, anniversaries and other events you want to appear in the iPhoto calendar.
For existing calendars click on the Settings button at the bottom to bring up this window:

There you can select the iCal calendar you created just for birthdays and anniversaries. That will automatically enter the data into the date squares of the calendar.

Extraction of data from Planning and load it into Oracle/SQL server (RDBMS)

Hi All,
ODI can extract data from Oracle/SQL server RDBMS and load it into Hyperion planning, but I wanted to know if it is possible to extract data from Hyperion Planning through ODI and load it into Oracle or SQL server RDMBS i.e the other way round.
Kindly let me know if that is possible or not,If yes then please let me know what is the exact process to achieve this through ODI.

Yes this can be done. Remember that Planning data is actually stored in Essbase so the Knowledge module you will need to use is LKM Essbase to SQL (DATA)

Using RSCRM_BAPI to convert data from Query and load into PSA to DSO

I have a complex query which is being executed in BeX.
I need to go in the reverse direction and extract the data from the Query and load into the PSA and then to a DSO.
I am using RSCRM_BAPI for this purpose and have got data into the extract table successfully.
But , my query has some variable screen wherein we need to give some inputs for selection.
I have create those Infoobjects and put them in the DSO.
How do I capture these inputs of the selection screen for storing in fields of my DSO as the Extract table does not store these inputs ???

write the whole insert query desired by you with the help of excel formulas.they are very easy or google 'how to use excel formulas".
then copy the fromula to whole set of data in excel fields.
run the insert query in excel as batch.

Master data from external file load

I'm loading master data from a flat file. I would like to load both the attribute and text from the same flat file. For the attribute my flat file looks like:
USERID,USER NAME
For the text file I need to load the language, so it looks like:
EN,USERID,USER NAME
I tried to load the text file from the attribute file and hard code the 'EN' in the transfer rules. But it seemed to ignore it and move the User ID into the language field.
I must be missing something. Any ideas?

i think there is some mismatching between your transfer structure and the flat file structure.(i mean sequence of fields)
you can do the following.
1)create a flexible InfoSource which contain Fields
0LANGU,userid,0TXTLG
2) create the TransferStructure with the same field and same sequence.
3)change your InfoObject and assign an InfoArea under master data tab.
4)now you can see 2 InfoProviders in the Pinafore assigned. 1 for attributes and 1 for text
5)create update rules for these 2 InfoProviders using the InfoSource created above. in attribute Update Rules map 0TXTLG to Username field.

Deleting Data from Infocube before loading

We are doing full loads by "Plan Version" into our CCA cube. We do these full loads each night. Eventually a "Plan Version" will stop changing and we can discontinue loading.
My question is there a way we can delete data in the cube by "Plan Version" before the new request is loaded. Right now it deletes overlapping request after the load but this is inefficient.
We would like to delete the data before we load.
We are doing this using a process chain in order to drop indexs first then reload and update statistics.

You can do full replacement load of your plan data by changing your plan data load infopackage which persumably have the selection to load plan data i.e. 0vtype 20-90.
In the Data target tab of the infopackage, select the update data target for the cube(s) in question and click on the automatic loading of identical/similar requests from the infocube (the column to the right of the pencil) and click on delete existing requests button and tick
a) full or initial data load and selection are the same or more comprehensive. I typically like to tick also the
boxes for infosources are the same, datasources are the same and source system are the same.
This will load the infopackage as you normally do and after that immediately delete any same or encompassed requests. i.e. if current value type selection is 20-90, it would delete a request for 20 as well as a value type for 40 and one for 50...

Copying start and end dates from service request contract to tasks

I am working on a logical apps program that is supposed to go to the service request screens and update the PLANNED_START_DATE and the PLANNED_END_DATE of a task for that service request on file JTF_TASKS_B with the start date and end date of the active contract associated with that service request and task. I think some of the contract information is available in OKS_PM_SCHEDULES_V, CS_SR_INCIDENTS_V, and CS_INCIDENTS. It may also be available in other files. I need to know of a contract file that can be used to link the contract to the corresponding task. I can't seem to find any files with task, contract number and service request all in one file.

You are right. All the three object you mentioned ( SR, Tasks and Contracts) are not referenced in a single file( or Table).
You can use this relationship though to get this information.
Tasks will be associated to a SR through source_ID and source_type. Source_ID will be the primary key, incident_id in CS_INCIDENTS_ALL_B table. This table incidentally also contains the contract_number and service_contract_id which gives the contract information.

Converting Character to Date from Flat File Load

Experts,
I have a flat file which contains date value say 12/24/2007.
When I created the datsource for this flatfile, I define the date field as char 10. When loading this data to the ods and the date infoobject, it does not show correctly.
I changed the fields in the datsource definition to dats, but I still am not getting right info.

If you have source field DD/MM/YYYY format, please try this code in the field routine.
Data : lv_date(8) type C.
lv_date0(4) = <Source Field Name>6(4).
lv_date4(2) = <Source Field Name>3(2).
lv_date6(2) = <Source Field Name>0(2).
RESULT = LV_DATE.

Historical data from ACE20 load balancer modules

Hello,
I am trying to get some historical data from our ACE20 load balancer modules which are housed in a 6504, but cannot seem to find where to get this information from. I would like to get information such as memory used, CPU active connections, throughput, http requests etc over the past month, is there any way that I can do this? I am using ANM 2.0

Below are teh steps to load from DB connect.
Just go to Rsa1->modeling->source system->double click on the source system. On right habd side side right click on the topmost node.now it will take u to a screen, there u can give the table name (if u know) or just execute. it will display all the tables u have in Oracle. there double click on th eselected table and select the fields requared and now generate data source. now come back to RSA1->source system-> replicate the data source. now assign infosouce as usual.And create infopackage and start the load.
And this doesn't support delta process.

It seems that you are trying to use the file as your staging areas. Hyperion LKM extracts essbase data into a DB staging area which can then be used by your file IKM to load it into file.
You need to use a RDBMS for your staging area.

Compare date from snapshot tables

I have mothly snapshot tables in oracle database 10gR2 that I loaded in discoverer 10gR2 as it as business users want to query monthly data. Fine.
Now business users want to compare two months data something like:
'snap_date jan-2009' 'site_id for jan-2009' 'site_status for jan-2009' 'snap_date feb-2009' 'site_id for feb-2009' 'site_status for feb-2009'

They want to see it like:

Please suggest, how can I achieve this in discoverer?
Two snap_dates can be any dates from last five years on which already snap_shot has been taken and added to the snapshot table.

How to retrieve data from plsql table in BI publisher Data template

Hi All,
I have created a data template for XML publisher report. In data template i m getting data from plsql table. for that i have created one package with pipelined function. I am able to run that sql from sql developer .But if i run the concurrent program then i got error like "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00904: "XXXXX": invalid identifier".
I have used the same parameters in Data template and concurrent program....
please clarify me what needs to be done....
