Data input error

I am having a strange error I never had before. My program gives me the NumberFormatException every time, the matter what I type in. It seems to be trying to parse the text in the println instead of the actual input, because when I told it to print out "5", instead of "Enter X coordinate of target", it worked. I have used a similar code in the past and it worked fine.
My code is this:
global variables:
static double xTarg= 0.0, yTarg= 0.0;
in main method:
BufferedReader BR = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
try {
System.out.println("Enter X coordinate of target");
     xTarg = Double.parseDouble(BR.readLine());
     System.out.println("Enter Y coordinate of target");
yTarg = Double.parseDouble(BR.readLine());
     catch (NumberFormatException e)
          System.out.println("NumberFormatException has happened");
          System.exit(0);
     catch (IOException e)
          System.out.println("bad input");
          System.exit(0);
          }

I ran your code using JCreator and it works fine. Did you use a comma ',' or a dot '.' for the decimal point? Because that seems to make a difference...

  • Kernel data input error on start up SSD Drive

    Hi All
    I have a HP Pavilion g6-1c58dx Notebook PC which I purchased while on holiday in the US in Jan 2012. This January I upgraded to an 120GB SSD drive from OCZ and Windows 8. From the first day I was receiving an error on start up, the computer would restart and ask me to investigate a "Kernel Data Input Error". I scanned the drive on several occasions and received the all clear. In March the drive just failed completely losing all my data.
    OCZ have replaced the drive with one of their Agility range, once again I am receiving the same start up error and although I have checked I have the latest version of all my drivers etc it persists. I am of course worried that in a few weeks this drive will also fail.
    It seems unlikely that the same error could occur on two different drives, my query is whether there is a known issue with this notebook and SSD drives and whether there is a solution to the problem.
    Thank You
    Gareth

    I understand that you are receiving a Kernel Data Input Error.
    Is this a blue screen error?  If so, does it give any more details through a more details option?  Some Windows 8 blue screen errors provide less information upfront with a more information option.
    If it is a blue screen error, uploading the file and sharing the link may be helpful in identifying the core of the issue.
    This site details how to do this using Sky Drive, a Microsoft service.
    Is there a common event (opening a program, performing an action, etc.) that precedes the error?
    If you run the start-up or run-in test (power on and press F2), does the RAM pass the test?  To rule in or out a RAM issue, it may be beneficial to use the run-in test overnight.

  • MacOS X Tiger browser web data input error

    We are having a problem a with my wife's Userid on her Mini running Tiger.
    (Mini G4/1.25 500MB 40GB Tiger 10.4.9)
    First let me confirm that the problem is not system wide because it doesn't happen with two other UserIDs, one Admin and one a normal user.
    Also the problem occurs with her three browsers; Safari, Firefox and Camino.
    When entering data at a Web site data is getting scrambled, so she can't log onto her protected sites. A/C AeroPlan login is one example.
    I realize the problem is related to browser info/data within her Userid.
    I don't want to delete everything internet related, but that is my last option.
    TIA for any ideas. Gerry
    G4/1.25 MDD 1.5GB 400Gb   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Several other Macs since 1984

    Hi Gerry,
    Thanks on the info on this not being system wide, that helps.
    Have you tired trashing the Safari cache folder & the other related cache folders for for the other browsers.
    Home~/Library/Caches/Safari cache I would start there.
    If that doesn't help, try trashing the corresponding .plist files
    Home~/Library/Preferences folder/com.apple.Safari.plist

    Is there any limitation before the decimal.
    i know that 0Quantity can take 17 digits including the sign.
    Any suggestions.?

  • [Solved] CUPS: Unable to write print data: Input/output error

    I'm filling this for the benefit of those poor googlers that can reach here.
    Symptoms: After trying to print a "complex" image the printer made too much breaks, and failed.
    The problem is, it then didn't came up. I mean, I restarted the printer, cupsd, the whole system, and nothing.
    I was unable to print again, it showed "Unable to write print data: Input/output error" and refused to print anything.
    I then saw that in /etc/cups I had printers.conf and printers.conf.O files, which differed (other than in StateTime), that printers.conf.O had
    State Idle
    but printers.conf had:
    State Stopped
    StateMessage Unable to write print data: Input/output error
    Reason paused
    Probably due to the ErrorPolicy being stop-printer.
    So seeing I followed the following steps:
    Stop cups
    Replace printers.conf with printers.conf.O (I could also had manually edited it)
    Start cups
    It then went working flawlessly.
    There was probably an option in the web interface combobox for doing that. The problem is that I didn't realise it was stopped, so didn't know how to make it work. Moreover, some posts in the web recommended reinstalling the printer (which would skip the problem by creating a new printer).

    I think that I had this same problem, and fixed it by reinstalling the printer.  Thank you for your post.

    Hi Anuj,
    Thanks for your reply!
    I found that the data source is registered on server soa_server1 as follows:
    Binding Name: jdbc.soademoDatabase

    I don't know how to determine which server the DBAdapter is targetted to.
    But I found the following information:
    Under Deoloyment->DBAdapter->Monitoring->Outbound Connection Pools
    Outbound Connection Pool Server State Current Connections Created Connections
    eis/DB/SOADemo AdminServer Running 1 1
    eis/DB/SOADemo soa_server1 Running 1 1
    eis/DB/soademoDatabase AdminServer Running 1 1
    eis/DB/soademoDatabase soa_server1 Running 1 1
    The DbAdapter is related to the following files:
    C:\ Oracle\ Middleware\ home_11gR1\ Oracle_SOA1\ soa\ connectors\ DbAdapter. rar
    C:\ Oracle\ Middleware\ home_11gR1\ Oracle_SOA1\ soa\ DBPlan\ Plan. xml
    I unzipped DbAdapter.rar, opened weblogic-ra.xml and found that there's only one data source is registered:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <weblogic-connector xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90">

    </connection-instance>
    </connection-definition-group>
    </outbound-resource-adapter>
    </weblogic-connector>
    Then I decided to use eis/DB/SOADemo for testing.
    For JDeveloper project, after I deployed to weblogic server, it works fine.
    But for OSB project referencing wsdl, jca and mapping file from JDeveloper project, still got the same error as follows:

    You may need to configure the connection settings in the deployment descriptor (i.e. DbAdapter.rar#META-INF/weblogic-ra.xml) and restart the server. This exception is considered not retriable, likely due to a modelling mistake.
    It almost drive me crazy!!:-(
    What's the purpose of 'weblogic-ra.xml' under the folder of 'C:\Oracle\Middleware\home_11gR1\Oracle_OSB1\lib\external\adapters\META-INF'?

    Hi,
    I think there is a part of the stored procedure you did not displayed in your post. I think your issue is probably due to a parsed value from java. For example when calling a procedure from java and the data type from java is different than expected by the procedure the ORA-01403 could be encountered. Can you please show the exact construction of the call of the procedure from within java and also how the procedure possible is provided with an input parameter.

        An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
        The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_TOO_MANY_FILES', was not
         caught and
        therefore caused a runtime error.
        The reason for the exception is:
        The maximum number of open files (100) has been exceeded.
    please let me know what should makes changes to avoid this abend?

    Standard programming problem, should be rather trivial to find with a quick search. Basically there's always a limit of how many open file handles you can have at a time.
    Please try to consult the ABAP help next time before posting (or search on SCN). A quick check for [open dataset|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPOPEN_DATASET.htm] would've told you the following:
    You can open up to 100 files per internal session. The actual maximum number of simultaneously open files may be less, depending on the platform.
    Most likely you actually don't want to have all those files open at the same time and you simply forgot to use a [close dataset|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPCLOSE_DATASET.htm] after reading each file.

    Hi Matt
    I'm using the same FM but it's not working. Can you please share what data you are passing in the FM.
    After debugging I found that my confirmation is getting created but it's not getting saved.
    Please enlighten me.
    Thanks

  • Error while executing SSIS package - Error: 4014, Severity:20, State: 11. A fatal error occurred while reading the input stream from the network. The session will be terminated (input error: 109, output error: 0)

    Hi,
    We are getting the following error when running our SSIS packages on Microsoft SQL Server 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1:
    Error: 4014, Severity:20, State: 11.   A fatal error occurred while reading the input stream from the network. The session will be terminated (input error: 109, output error: 0)
    SQL Server Data Tools and SQL Server Database Engine reside on the same server.
    We tried the following:
    Disabling TCP Chimney Offload
    Installed Windows Server 2008 SP1
    Splitting our SSIS code into multiple steps so it is not all one large continuous operation
    The error occurs during a BulkDataLoad task.
    Other options we are investigating with the engineering team (out-sourced, so delayed responses):
    Firewall configurations (everything is local, so this should not make a difference)
    Disabling the anti-virus scanner
    Are there other things we can try?
    Any insight is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi HenryKwan,
    Based on the current information, the issue can be caused by many reasons. Please refer to the following tips:
    Install the latest hotfix based on your SQL Server version. Ps: there is no SQL Server 2012 R2 version.
    Change the MaxConcurrentExecutables property from -1 to another one based on the MAXDOP. For example, 8.
    Set "RetainSameConnection" Property to FALSE on the all the connection managers.
    Reference:
    https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/774370/ssis-packages-abort-with-unexpected-termination-message
    If the issue is still existed, as Jakub suggested, please provide us more information about this issue.
    Thanks,

  • Date parse error while importing users from OIM to OIA (SRM 5.0.3)

    Hi All,
    Env Details:
    OIA (SRM 5.0.3), Weblogic and Oracle 10g DB
    We have integrated OIM to OIA with extended attributes mapping by modifying iam-context.xml file to load users. Its done successfully. But when we map "Date" related attribute, its giving "Date Parsing error" and its not loading the users.
    We have tried loading users using flatFile mechanism, its also giving same result.
    Please suggest me. Thanks in Advance !!!
    Regards,
    Ravi G.

    Hi,
    Its a problem with OOB's OIMIAMSolution.class file, which is called while importing users from OIM. It used DateParse () conversion method only for all attributes which OIA attributes' name is ends with "Date". It defined, the conversion of date from (yyyy-MM-dd). So its expecting the input value should be in defined format(yyyy-MM-dd), if not, it gives a parse error.
    We found work around for this as follows,
    We have used other related OIA attribute which name ends other than "Date" string.
    Thanks,
    Ravi G.

  • Date format error while accessing date from SQLSERVER

    Hi all, in me webdynpro application I have taken Date type for the Input Field.
    At date select it is displaying in the format
      *2/14/2009 i.e. mm/dd/yyyy*
    And when I am saving date in the sql database then the date format changes to..
    2009-02-14 i.e..yyyy/mm/dd.
    But using the Date format method I have changed the format as per the need to push date in the SQL database table...
    In the table SQL the date attribute is in form i.e.    02/14/2009 as like from the date select from the date Input Fieldu2026But the problem is that database is not being able to display in that Input field again.
    I have use the coding both at Insertion and selection of the database i.e..
    Date Sdate, Edate;
    Sdate     =   Date.valueOf (rs.getString ("Sdate"));
    Edate     =   Date.valueOf (rs.getString ("Edate"));
    SimpleDateFormat date Formatter = new SimpleDateFormat ("MM/dd/yyyy");
    Sdate = wdContext.currentProjectElement ().getEdate ();
    Edate = wdContext.currentProjectElement ().getEdate ();
      String Sd = dateFormatter.format (Sdate);
      String Ed = dateFormatter.format (Edate);
      Date Sdd =Date.valueOf (Sd);
      Date Edd =Date.valueOf (Ed);
    But at selection of the database the error for the date format isu2026.
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException
    If somebody knows how to resolve this ,plz let me know
    Regards:
    SK

    for displaying the value only, I think, you are converting to string.
    sol1:
    1. Create a simple type in dictionary: under Dictionary -> Local Dictionary -> Simple Types
    2. go to Definition tab: Change Built-in Type as Date
    3. go to Representation tab: specify format e.g.: MM/dd/yyyy
    4. go to Context and change the date context attribute to the created type.
    sol2:
    please try to minimize the casting between Date and String.
    I believe in database date is stored as Date type itself. My suggestion will be for displaying keep a separate attribute and set it on each db call.
    below code is converting from Date to String.
    Date Sdate, Edate;
    Sdate = rs.getDate ("Sdate");
    Edate = rs.getDate ("Edate");
    SimpleDateFormat date Formatter = new SimpleDateFormat ("MM/dd/yyyy");
    String Sd = dateFormatter.format (Sdate);
    String Ed = dateFormatter.format (Edate);
