Data Merge a Font Color with the actual text

I am absolutely new to Java Scripting and have been away from programming for a number of year.
I am trying to data merge chacteristics of the data being merged. Is this possible?
A quick example would be to have a data source that has text for a simple text box (easy to merge) and other fields that contain the CMYK color values that I want that text to be in.
Can someone please let me know if this would even be possible in InDesign? If so, how hard a script is this to write?

I have a feeling the user is talking about the notification bubble - which incorporates the sender's details on the top of the message (it will look like they're bunched together). In this case since the receipient does not have the user as a contact, the phone number is shown.
In the case where it has disappeared - the user is now looking into the messages app and only see the message and the phone number separate..

When I open some PDF files with my Windows 7 PC I just see garbled font instead of the actual text. I have installed the latest version of Reader and restarted my PC. Any help?

I received some PDFs from a vendor and when I open them the font it garbled. If I go to a different PC it is fine. I use Windows 7 and have updated my version of Reader and restarted the PC. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Are you sure that your PDF opens in Adobe Reader, and not some other application like Microsoft Word?

How to automatically build a table with 2 alternated font colors for the lines ?

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to automatically build a table with alternate background color and alternate font color for the lines.
I have this particular project (a list of companies of an industrial area) and it is updated twice a year :
I managed to set an automated alternate background color of the lines so this works well (white/blue/white/blue...)
But the font color does not automatically alternates... and I do not know how to set this up...
All the companies are ordered alphabetically so when I have to insert or delete one, the whole text of the table under the modified line is messed up. Then I have unreadable white text on white background and blue text on blue background...
Does anyone have an idea on how to automatically alternate the font color ?

Data Merge: Frame background color?

Hi everyone.
I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'm trying to figure out a way to data merge a value to trigger the background color of a shape frame to change to another color to appear highlighted. I can already achieve this by saving out an image to match the specs of the shape I'm currently using, but for the sake of future projects and other applications I thought I would ask anyways. The document I'm merging is rather large and there will be a lot of colored shapes in the mix. Adding extra images per page will probably bump my file size a little bit - but probably not a significant amount because the shapes are pretty small.
An example of how it looks with images:
[merged image] [merged image shape (highlighted yellow color)] Master Text [merged text] [merged text] [merged text]
[merged image] [merged image shape (regular grey color)] Master Text [merged text] [merged text] [merged text]
I was thinking maybe I could use some kind of GREP style to trigger it? But I don't know if background color can be tweaked like that.

GREP styles only work within paragraph styles which have character styles based on GREP queries. it can't call information about the frame it's in, only the text it is applying formatting to.
However, I think I have a solution. draw two frames - one with a variable colour, and one with a variable picture. center them over each other and make a spreadsheet which assigns a variable pic to the variable pic frame; and a variable coloured pic to a variable colour frame.

Comparing the BOM usage with the actual usage for materials.

My client want to compare the BOM usage with the actual usage and have a report for this within a period? More specified they want to calculate the BOM usage, based on the requirement quantity from confirmation - but with out the scrap %. mulitplied with the confimed quantity of the header material.
The actual usage should be based on goods issuing from stock, either as goods issue to order (backflushing) or as goods issue to cost center.
I havent been able to indentiy a standard report for doing this - does some of you know a standard report?
- I was thinking of the following method:
Look at tabel RESB and compare it with MSEG, but I have some diferent problems with this.
- In resb there is no qty before scrap.
- The data amount from MSEG, is so huge so it is not possible to make a data search for a whole period (eg. month)

There is one std report MCRX which gives a comparison of quanity in order and actual consumption,
if it doesnt meet your need, you may have to create a custom report.
logic can be find the quantites as per BOM for the produced quantities
issued quantities to the order
tables you may need are AUFK AUFM
AFKO, STAS STPO
MSEG, MKPO
JEST ( if you want to filter using order status)

Multiple record data merge into paragraph styles-applies the wrong style

Hi, I've been working on this project for sometime and everytime I manage to get one part of the workflow to work another seems to break. My agency publishes catalogs in multiple formats: large-print, audio, braille, and HTML. I've been trying to redesing our work process so that the catalogs will be laid out from merged data out of comma-separated file. The data merges have worked fairly well in Word, but InDesign is a challenge. I'm merging multiple records on a page, like a mailing label. The paragraphs need to be formatted and I'm trying to apply a paragraph style to them. After much work, I think I've finally got the data merge to work correctly, but the wrong paragraph styles are applied. I'm going to apply a new master page to the data once the data is merge that uses the paragraph styles for text variable running headers and I need to build a table of contents based on the paragraph styles so I need this to work. Attached are some screenshots.

I don't remember this happening in past versions. But I mainly use XML. And a quicky test converting your file to XML worked fine (and besides, it ends up all in continuous text frames...).
I don't do much GREP. But you can do this via a Find/Replace.
First, in your main document, you can delete the tags--but do this on a second copy of your working file!
Change your Content Placement options to not remove blank lines (these are in the Datamerge panel).
Then after the merge, change the format of the two blank lines at the beginning of the records without the two lines of data:
Note the Change Format style is changing those two paragraphs to Title.
Then rerun the find to remove the two blank paragraphs.
I suspect this can be done easier. I am sitting awaiting an appointment and cannot go much further than this for now, sorry.

How to merge PDF/Word Doc with the Form I created?

Which software should I use to merger PDF/Word Doc with the form I created.
One more question is I want the form page to show up right next to the ending or in the middle of the word doc . How to manange the placement of the sections?

1) The option of creating the whole thing as a LiveCycle form means that you need to convert the Word document using LiveCycle Designer. The import utility won't preserve the fidelity of the Word document the way printing to the PDF print driver does. It will likely require a fair bit of tweaking in Designer to get it looking like you want. You will likely get frustrated, since Designer is not a word processor.
2) You can create PDF forms in Acrobat without launching LiveCycle Designer. While they look the same to a user as forms created with LiveCycle Designer, behind the scenes they are very different. When you create a form in Acrobat you overlay fields on top of an existing PDF document that you had previously created using the PDF print driver. There is an extensive scripting model for these "Acroforms". The technology pre-dates LiveCycle yet Adobe continues to improve the two forms models in parallel. In Acrobat, open a PDF and select tools-->forms-->show forms toolbar.
3) I recommend this option if it's feasible. I don't know what you mean by "doesn't show up in a flow". If you're going to use the form in Acrobat 7, then save it as Acrobat 7 compatible in LiveCycle Designer. This is one of the options in the Save As dialog of LiveCycle Designer.

Changing the font color for the complete row based on the Keyfigure Values

Hi Experts,
Can any one help me to find a solution for this?.
I have a requirement, in which the Font color for the complete Row needs to be set to RED in Bex Report, when the corresponding Row Keyfigure is more than a particular value.
Ex: Notification-Material-Customer-Def Qty-delivered Qty
1000000 - XXXXX- AAAAAA-10-1000
in the above example, when the Defect qty increses more than 10, then the complete Row Including the characterstics, Notification, Material, and customer Should be Highlighted in Red. This has to happen automatically once the Query is refreshed.
Please let me know if you have any suggestion here?.

Step 1: Click the Format Menu in Excel(BEX Analyzer)
Step 2: Click the Style submenu
Step 3: there will be number of SAPBEX formats available. Each of these relates to another cell of BEx (Header, Cell Data,
Result Row, Hierarchies, etc.). Also, they depend on data types.
Step 4: Select SAPBEXchatext
Step 5: Click Modify. This displays all the standard formatting option as shown below.
Step 6: Select Font, Color (Background/ Font).
Step 7: Click OK on both the screens. The entire BEx output result row Font and color is modified.

My baseline bar is moving with the Actual bar

After assigning the baseline to my program, i have updated my program with actual percentage which is carried out.
When i updated the progress and schedule it, the baseline bar is moving with the actual bar and the baseline date is showing new date of completion.

Can you please check BL start and finish columns, if these dates also changes or not?
If yes, that means that you are not assigning the right baseline at "Assign Baseline" wizard.
If not, that means you have an issue with BL bars, so you have to check your bars settings at "Bars" wizard.

YOU ARE WRONG.
Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages. You can turn Notifcation Center off for Messages, or select None for the alert style, and turn Show Preview off, and view in Lock Screen on or off.

Change font color in the Text Field of a Popup Key LOV

I have a question concerning Popup Key LOV.
I want to change the font color in the Text Field of the Popup Key LOV Item.
I searched the forum but I cannot find an answer about this! Although I searched the CSS and the Popup Key LOV Template, but I do not know where to modify the font color.
Has anyone an idea how to solve that problem?

I use style="color:#000000;" and it work in Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer 7.0!
And that is not the first time, that there are differences in displaying those tags in the HTML Form Element Attributes and in css files, etc.

Would like so to seek for you advice on the above mention topic. How to display the data with the same text and key using function module 'VRM_SET_VALUES'. From my testing by writing a program, this function module will only show the text and key if both have different data. Please find the coding as below. Is the normal behaviour of this function module? How to overcome this problem? Thanks in advance.

This surely seems to be a bug to me(if not by design), did you check for any SAP notes? Perhaps a front end trace can help(Note 407743) !

Google Chrome is a problem:
if you use Chrome's own PDF viewer, the results are unpredictable.
if you use the Adobe Reader plugin with Chrome, it may reject (block) it if it is not the latest version. Reader 11.0.08 is the latest version for Windows XP, but Chrome may insist on the current version 11.0.10.
My suggestion; use a different browser!
