Data package is missing in the return structure

Hi BW Folks,
I have an issue with ODS activation.While activating the data in ODS object am getting following error message
Activation of data records from ODS object XXXX terminated.
data package XXXXX contains errors with status 9 in table 'XX' but this data package is missing in the return structure.
In detail: The data package is entered in the return structure as incorrect.
Can anyone provide me the solution. Thanks in advance. Have a nice time!

There's no need to use a DECODE statement when a CASE will do the same, and more, certainly if you want to check for range values rather than equality values as in your ">= SYSDATE - 90".
Not quite sure what your error message means either. Seems to be nonesense as it says the maximum is 6 and it's getting 4, but 4 is not greater than 6 so it shouldn't be a problem.

Holder missing in the org structure ( PPOM_OLD) simple maitainance mode

Hi all
I have uploaded the HR Master data using BDC.
Everythin is fine in the HR Master data , the Org assignments all r fine.
The problem is the holders are not reflected in the Organizational structure in the simple maitainance mode ppom_old.
I know there are way to rectify this , by running RHINTE00/10/20/30 , some reports like this.
But im not getting the actual thing to be done .
Im still stuck with that.
Some help me out with the exact step by step procedure.

select the period correctly , give your employee number range , then execute it , it will create a batch job , you will have to execute the batch job , after execution the position will reflect the holder.

Data recovery, possible to get the file structure back as well?

Hi Apple Smarties,
I closed my laptop lid on my external LaCie drive without ejecting the drive first (smart one!). After that the external drive wouldn't mount. I've used Data Rescue 3 to recover all the files from the drive... however it's just lumping all the files into one big batch :-( ...anybody know if it's possible to get the files into the correct files structure they were at before the drive got corrupted?
Assistance would be HUGELY appreciated.

Now, if you could point me in the right direction to do that re-build, I would be ever so grateful. I did use the "rebuild" button on the Mail tool bar for that box and it did not help. Perhaps there is something else I could do?
As I mentioned, I am very new to the Mac world, and I get a little lost. Well, at age 73, I guess that's not hard to do! Been on Windows forever so lots of the terminology in Apple is quite different for me.

Data transfer error when checking the Return vendor flag (LFM1-KZRET)

I am working on a conversion program to update Vendor Master with return vendor flag (LFM1-KZRET). When ever i do it manually it works fine. But, if i try it through recording or BDC program i get an error saying '
It is not possible to copy data from field 'Returns with shipping proc.'. Please can any one let me know if there is any other method to update this data or any OSS notes to be implemented to solve this error.
The problem is only occurring when we try to update the field while doing recording or BDC.

I have already checked the note 964533 and i feel that its the solution to my issue. But our system is on release 500 and this note only supports release 600. We were not allowed to implement it on release 500. I have sent a customer message to SAP for asking the possibilies of implementing this note on release 500 and regarding any side-effects and waiting for there response. Thanks for your help and just want to know whether you have ever faced this issue.

Date field is missing in the Table maintainance generator

A table is created. A date field is there in that table. I tried to create a table maintainance generator for this table using 2 screens. Table maintainance generator is created. But when I go to SM30 , I am unable to see this <b>DATE</b> field in the SM30 , in the first screen. But when I go to maintainance screen , I am able to see this field. This particularly happening with date field.

How can I pass data generated in a SubVI inside a Case Structure out of the Case Structure?

Hello,
I am using a USB 2701 to control a heater. I have three SubVIs that are all working properly on their own. I'd like to use an Enum to select which of the SubVIs is running at a given time. The problem is that no data is passing out of the case structure. How can I pass the temperatures and heater outputs acquired by the SubVIs to the main VI? I've attached my some of my code below. I can't attach more than 3 files, but you can see how the main VI is configured. Like I said, the SubVIs are working individually, so you shouldn't really need to look at them.

You might check a couple of things.
Your HeaterTCD... VI has a While loop with a stop button condition. HeaterTCD pass out values only when it finishes running. If it doesn't pop open the front panel (which usually doesn't happen when running a SubVI) you could run into a stuck loop because you don't have access to the Stop button. This could appear in the form of no data being passed out (because the SubVI never stops running). The primary VI opens the HeaterTCD VI, starts it, and waits for the VI to finish and pass final values .
Secondary note: Unless you want your SubVI panel (which probably isn't open when running the main VI) to update continuously, consider moving your Temperature Graph and Temperature oC indicators outside the while loop. Pass final values to them via a tunnel, since the main VI will only read their values after the loop finishes running, anyway.
It might help to add error management to HeaterTCD like you have for RampHeater. If you connect error lines with Error Outs to your main VI, that will help tell if there is an error somewhere that is preventing info output.
RampHeater SubVI has the same issue with the stop button. It is also probably getting stuck in the While loop waiting for a manual push of that SubVI's Stop button.
An easy way to test this would be to set up a logic circuit so that when the While loop iteration counter reaches a certain number, it registers True and sends it to the conditional. I know this isn't what you want to do long-term, but if that lets your SubVI return outputs it means that the SubVI was just never stopping.

URGENT--Converting the BAPI return structure to XML

Hi,
I need to convert the return structure(export parameter) from a BAPI call to XML but not able to make out how to do that.
Before this I was required to convert the BAPI return table(export table) to XML and I did that by first converting it to the AdoDataTable, added it to a dataset and then used the builtin function to return the dataset in XML format. But here I am not able to make out how can I do the same with the Export structure.
Any help would be appreciated.

If the XML schema that you find as Xml attributes on the fields of the structure is good for you, you can just use the XML serializer to serialize it out:

IPad 2 -- will Verizon have an activation fee each time the data package is started?

I have an AT&T iPhone. Now with the iPad 2 coming out Friday, I was intending on getting the Verizon 3G version of the iPad 2. However, it is clear that AT&T's data plan is superior since there is no activation fee and the data package can be turned on and off at will. I also was going to go with the Verizon iPad 2 because Verizon's coverage through the Siskyou Mountains between Eugene OR and Redding CA is considerably better than AT&T on the I-5 corridor.
I signed up for Verizon emails about a week ago and have yet to receive a single email regarding their intentions for the iPad 2 costs. So we are certainly in the dark.
I'll line up at the Apple Store on Friday. If Verizon has an activation fee for the data package, I'll get the AT&T iPad 2. If not, then I'll get the Verizon iPad 2.

Not only is their website vague, their employees have no clue about the activation fee either. I called yesterday and the guy I talked with told me that yes, there would be a $35 activation fee every time you signed up if you remained inactive for 3 months or more. He also said that AT&T has a $36 activation. (ovbiously that is wrong.) So I called back today and the woman said that there would be a $35 activation fee PLUS there would be a $15 suspension fee every time I de-activated. I repeated several times that this is JUST for the IPad and only the 3g service. I asked to be transferred to another associate who told me exactly the same thing. So I asked that associate if she could check her computer and tell me exactly what it said about IPad service. What she said was that if you pre-pay with a credit or debit card, there would be no activation fee. Now THAT's more like it. Just to be safe, though, I called my local Verizon store. The woman there also thought that there was an activation fee so I told her what the last lady had said. She searched and searched - she even told me that her computer showed there was a $25 activation fee for pre-paid. She was very nice, though, and took my name and number and is looking into the matter and will call me back. I will post again once I hear from her. I hope someone at Verizon monitors these posts and will get accurate info out to their associates!

Issue in Update routine due to Data Package

We have this peculiar situation.
The scenario is ..
We have to load data from ODS1 to ODS2.
The data package size is 9980 while transferring data from ODS1 to ODS2.
In the update rule we have some calculations and we rank the records based on these calculations.
The ODS key for both ODS1 and ODS2 is same ie Delivery Number , Delivery Item & Source System.
For example a Delivery Number has 12 Delivery Items.
These Delivery Items are in different Data Packages namely Data Package 1 and Data Package 4.
So instead of having the ranks as 1 to 10 its calculating it as 1 to 5 and second item as 1 to 5.
But what we require is Rank as 1 to 10.
This is due to the fact that the items are in different Data packages.
In this case the ABAP routine is working fine but the Data Package is the problem.
Can anybody any alternative solution to this issue.?

Not able to clear return structure in BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN

I'm having a problem with the return structure in BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN where it's keeping all the records and I can't seem to clear the structure. I've tried sending in a blank return table from webdynpro, but the bapi still remembers any messages from the same session and returns them back. Does anyone know how to clear this structure so that it only returns the messages for the current call? Thanks.

Joanna,
When you us BAPI its normally unidirectional as far as return is concerned. You have to ge the return values from R/3. When you map the BAPI to context in the component controller the data from the BAPI is transferred to the controller context on the invalidate method of the node. If you want the controller context node to consist some other value then you can write into that node manually and the value will remain there till you invalidate the node. Remember if you want new values in Return then you need to run the BAPI again.

URGENT HELP !JCO RETURN structure from SAP

Hello,
I am working on my intern project and I got some trouble.
I have used JDBC to access a table in Oracle(this is an independent DB)I updated a column in the table and selected all data that
was marked as 6 based on the update(SAP needs this data). I passed the values to a JCO application,
which connects to SAP and send the data (I presume what I'm doing is correct) to a structure in SAP.
SAP does some internal calculations with the data and should return the data back using the same
structure but this time with some changes on the data.
For example the field steuk is marked as 7 if the data processing was successful and if the data
structure wasn't successful a 6 will be return.
The return Values should be updated in the oracle DB indicating if the transfer was successful
or not. And next time the same data will be sent to SAP following the same path.
Now when I look at the return getString data in Eclipse, the result seems ambiguous.I don't see the data I presumably
sent to the SAP structure using:

Thank you for your remarks. The problem I'm having is that when I do send the values to SAP using the loop:

     for (int i = 0; i < 19; i++) {
     ztable.appendRow();
     ztable.setValue(value,field name);
I do expect to have(or see) some values when I do access the same table structure(This is just a structure and
not a real table as I do understand that there is a different between a structure and a table in SAP) and
not the field names back.In the second try and catch block:

I'm trying to access the values I sent in the first try and catch block. I presume I should see some real values and not the

This does not reflect the values but the field names. Why is it this way? Does it mean that my array is wrong or I'm not at all
sending the values. Please HELP ME OUT HERE.
Could any one show me a better way how to send the values selected from Oracle table using perhaps an
ARRAY to the ZSAORA_RUECK structure in SAP?
I am trying to send the values from the select statement in the first jdbc application
to the value field in ztable.setValue(value, field name).

when we r using bapi for data transfer how error transactions will be handled.
what exactly return structure consists. can we get error transactions log in the return structure.

Data package size

What is the basic difference between RSCUSTV6 & SBIW->General setting ->Maintain Control parameters in relation of modification of data package format.

Just see the help on
Maintain Control Parameters for Data Transfer:
1. Source System
Enter the logical system of your source client and assign the control parameters you selected to it.
You can find further information on the source client in the source system by choosing the path
Tools -> Administration -> Management -> Client Maintenance.
2. Maximum Size of the Data Package
When you transfer data into BW, the individual data records are sent in packages of variable size. You can use these parameters to control how large a typical data packet like this is.
If no entry was maintained then the data is transferred with a default setting of 10,000 kBytes per data packet. The memory requirement not only depends on the settings of the data package, but also on the size of the transfer structure and the memory requirement of the relevant extractor.
3. Maximum Number of Rows in a Data Package
With large data packages, the memory requirement mainly depends on the number of data recrods that are transferred with this package. Using this parameter you control the maximum number of data records that the data package should contain.
By default a maximum of 100,000 records are transferred per data package.
The maximum main memory requiremen per data package is approximately 2 Max. Rows 1000 Byte.
4. Frequency
The specified frequency determines the number of IDocs that an Info IDoc is to be sent to, or how many data IDocs an Info Idoc describes.
Frequency 1 is set by default.. This means that an Info Idoc follows every data Idoc. In general, you should select a frequency between 5 and 10 but no higher than 20.
The bigger the data IDoc packet, the lower the frequency setting should be. In this way, when you upload you can obtain information on the respective data loading in relatively short spans of time .
With the help of every Info IDoc, you can check the BW monitor to see if there are any errors in the loading process. If there are none, then the traffic light in the monitor will be green. The Info IDocs contain information such as whether the respective data IDocs were uploaded correctly.
5. Maximum number of parallel processes for the data transfer
An entry in this field is only relevant from release 3.1I onwards.
Enter a number larger than 0. The maximum number of parallel processes is set by default at 2. The ideal parameter selection depends on the configuration of the application server, which you use for transferring data.
6. Background job target system
Enter the name of the application server on which the extraction job is to be processed.
To determine the name of the application server, choose
Tools -> Administration -> Monitor -> System monitoring -> Server. The name of the application server is displayed in the column Computer.
7. Maximum Number of Data Packages in a Delta Request
With this parameter, you can restrict the number of data packages in a delta request or in the repetition of a delta request.
Only use this restriction when you expect delta requests with a very high data volume, so that, despite sufficiently large data package sizes, more than 1000 data packages can result in a request.
With an initial value or when the value is 0, there is no restriction. Only a value larger than 0 leads to a restriction in the number of data packages. For reasons of consistency, this number is not generally exactly adhered to. The actual restriction can, depending on how much the data is compressed in the qRFC queue , deviate from the given limit by up to 100.

How to add error message to return structure of calling BAPI from a BADI

i have a bapi where a badi is triggered.this badi method has just importing and changing parameters.is there any way with which i can add error message to the return structure of calling bapi.please reply at the earliest.High points can be expected.
