Data Service error

Hi,
On testing data service from the storyboard, it works fines but on runtime, it displays the following two errors:
-Error occurred during Data Service, MA_SRV Execution
-Error occurred during Data Service, AJ_SRV Execution
Any idea on as to what is going wrong....
Best regards,
Dharmi

Data Service is not expecting empty values for optional fields at runtime, resulting in error (not the case with 7.0)

• Data Services - Error Consuming Web Service from SAP CE

Hello all,
I developed a very quick sample real-time job in Data Services just to test the web services and connectivity between BoBJ DS and SAP CE. The real-time job doesn't do anything fancy, just converts characters from lower case to upper case. In SAP CE I am attempting to use the web service navigator to test the WSDL (http://localhost:28080/DataServices/servlet/webservices?ver=2.0&wsdlxml). SAP CE correctly connects to the WSDL and gives me a selection list where I can drill down to Real-Time Services -> my real time job. I put in some test data and execute the web service and I get the following error:
Invalid transport binding settingsDocument is not well-formed: Expected End-tag 'MAIN', received:a, on position: 0 (:main:, row:1, col:0)
The strange thing is that the HTTP response message shows that the service actually executed, because the data has been converted to upper case as it was supposed to. Also, if I go into the Data Services Management Console it shows the service was executed with no errors. The strange thing is that I notice something wrong when I look at the response message vs. the source message:

If you notice in the target message the closing
tag is preceded by "aw". I'm not sure what this means, and I'm not sure where it's coming from, but I think it could have something to do with the error because it doesn't match the opening tag.
I'm not sure if this is something that is set in Data Services? I've checked around quite a bit but I am stumped! Can anyone help?

what is the version of dataServices you are using ? there was a bug that was fixed related to this issue, if you are on 12.1 (DS XI 3.1) then use the latest 12.1 Fix Pack 12.1.1.7
if you are on 12.2 (DS XI 3.2) then use the latest SP and FP 12.2.2.1

• Actionscript Data Service Errors

Hi,
I am trying to accomplish a task to allow users modify and
view the data from DataGrid service, but the problem I have right
now is that it is based on the selections the users have made using
check boxes, which this portion is written in Actionscript.
I stored the selection into a string, and try to use
HTTPService to "POST" the data, and it did not return me anything
from my DataGrid. Could someone please help me with the syntax of
how to allow my two defined string variables be posted to the
service correctly?
Thanks in advance.
Alice

Don't build the request object declaratively. Instead do:
var oRequest:Object = new Object();
oRequest.message = message2;
scenario_create.send(oRequest);
Also, it is very dangerouys to use "lastResult" anywhere but
in a binding expression, since the framework can overwrite it at
any time.
Instead, use a result handler and put your result data into a
variable and bind to and use that where needed.
Finally, on HTTPService set resultFormat="e4x". otherwise
Flex converts your xml into a nexted dynamic object structure. Thsi
is almost never a good thing.

• Data Services Error (GAC) after update from 12.1.0 to 12.1.1

Hi,
I have updated my DS installation:
1. export prject to ATL file,
2 unsinstalled 12.1.0,
3. installed 12.1.1
4. imported ATL file
All Jobs that include GAC transforms work well, but when I try to create new Jobs that use the
GAC transform I'm getting the following errors:
Transform <Global_AddressCleanse>:Option Error(Option: GLOBAL_ADDRESS/COUNTRY_OPTIONS/COUNTRY/OPTIONS/DISABLE_CERTIFICATION):
At least 1 DISABLE_CERTIFICATION option(s) must be present in this group..
Transform <Global_AddressCleanse>:Option Error(Option: GLOBAL_ADDRESS/REPORT_OPTIONS): At least 1 REPORT_OPTIONS option(s) must be present in this group..
These Options are not visible in the GAC options dialog.
Is there a workaround, e.g. can I tweak the ATL export of the Job)
Thanks for your reply!
Regards,
Martin

Thanks for the hint, Niels, to thread
Address Cleanse Error in DS 3.1 and not in DS 3.0
Ryans workaround (importing gac.atl to overwrite th GAC transform) solved the problem.

• Edge 3.1 Data Services connection to SAP ECC 5.0 on AIX server

I've got a client who is trying to create a Data Services extract from an SAP ECC 5.0 system on an AIX server. The Data Services is installed on a Windows box and is the Edge 3.1 version. He is able to connect to the SAP datastore, is able to import the metadata for a table and browse the data, but the data transport in the R/3 Data Flow fails due to a permissions problem on the file generated in the working directory on the SAP server (as indicated by the Data Services error message).
We have confirmed that the file can be opened and modified by the same user that the Data Integration service is running under. I have also duplicated his environment and settings in a sandbox virtual machine, except that our SAP ECC 6.0 system is running on MS Windows Server 2003, and the transfer works fine in that environment.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Is there a permissions setting we're missing?

Simply means that in the case you have more than one instance you need to shutdown down the instance you are working on and all the other ones too.

• Error while registering a new repository on Data Services 4.0

Hi all,
I've a BO Enterprise Platform 4.0 + Data Services 4.0 installation, and I'm trying to register a new local repository in addition to the installation default one. I followed these steps:
1) Create a new database schema for the repository
2) Created the local repository with repository manager
3) Created a new job server associated with the new repository through the server manager
4) Tried to register the new repository in the CMC
I wasn't able to complete the step 4 since i got the following error "unable to connect to profile server".
Any clue?
Thank you very much

what is the complete version of DS 4.0 ? also check the REPO_TYPE in AL_VERSION table, for local repo this will be NULL

• Flash Builder 4.5 Data Services Wizard, setting up REST service call returns Internal Error Occurred

Dear all -
I am writing with the confidence that someone will be able to assist me.
I am using the Flash Builder Data Services Wizard to access a Server that utilizes REST type calls and returns JSON objects. The server is a JETTY server and it apparantly already works and is returning JSON objects (see below for example). It is both HTTP and HTTPS enabled, and right now it has a cross-domain policy file that is wide open (insecure but its not a production server, it's internal).
The crossdomain file looks like this:

<cross-domain-policy>
<allow-http-request-headers-from domain="*" headers="*" secure="false"   />
<allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*" secure="false"/>
<site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="master-only" />
</cross-domain-policy>
The crossdomain file is in the jetty server's root directory and is browseable via HTTP and HTTPS (i.e. browsing to it returns the xml)
Now before all of you say that using wizards sucks (generally) I thought I would utilize the FB Data Services Wizard as at least it would provide a template for which I could build additional code against, or replace and improve the code it produces.
With that in mind, I browse to the URL of the Jetty Server with any web browser (for example, Google Chrome, Firefox or IE) with a URL like this (the URL is a little confidential at the moment, but the structure is the same)
https://localhost:somePort/someKey/someUser/somePassword/someTask
*somePort is the SSL port like 8443
*someKey is a key to access the URL's set of services
returns a JSON object as a string in the web browser and it appears like the following:
{"result":success,"value":"whatEverTheValueShould"}
Looks like the JSON string/object is valid.
I went through the Flash Builder Data Services Wizard to set up HTTP access to this server. The information that I filled in is described below:
Do you want to use a Base URL as a prefix for all operation URLs?
YES
Base URL:
https://localhost:8443/someKey/
Name                    : someTask
Method                    : POST
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
URL                              : {someUser}/{somePassword}/someTask
Service Name: SampleRestapi
Services Package: services.SampleRestapi
datatype objects: valueObjects:
Completing the wizard, I run the Test Operation command. Remember, no authentication is needed to get a JSON string.
It returns:
InvocationTargetException: Unable to connect to the URL specified
I am thinking - okay, but the URL IS browseable (as I originally was able to browse to it, as noted above).
I continue to test the service by creating a Flex application that accepts a username and password in a form. when the form is submitted, the call to the service is invoked and an event handler returns the result. The code is below (with some minor changes to mask the actual source).

<s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
xmlns:SampleRestapi="services.SampleRestapi.*"
minWidth="955" minHeight="600">
<fx:Script>

import mx.controls.Alert;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
protected function button_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
isUserValidResult.token = SampleRestAPI.isUserValid(userNameTextInput.text,passwordTextInput.text);
protected function SampleRestAPI_resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
// print out the results
txtAreaResults.text = event.result.message as String;
// txtAreaResults.appendText( "headers \n" + event.headers.toString() );

</fx:Script>
<fx:Declarations>
<SampleRestapi:SampleRestAPI id="SampleRestAPI"
fault="Alert.show(event.fault.faultString + '\n' + event.fault.faultDetail)"
result="SampleRestAPI_resultHandler(event)"
showBusyCursor="true"/>
<s:CallResponder id="isUserValidResult"/>

</fx:Declarations>
<s:Form defaultButton="{button}">
<s:FormItem label="UserName">
<s:TextInput id="userNameTextInput" text="q"/>
</s:FormItem>
<s:FormItem label="Password">
<s:TextInput id="passwordTextInput" text="q"/>
</s:FormItem>
<s:Button id="button" label="IsUserValid" click="button_clickHandler(event)"/>
<s:FormItem  label="results:">
<s:TextArea id="txtAreaResults"/>
</s:FormItem>
</s:Form>
</s:Application>
It's a simple application to be sure. When I run it , I get the following returned in the text area field txtAreaResults:
An Internal Error Occured.
Which is equivalent to the following JSON string being returned:
{"success":false,"value":"An Internal Error Occured"}
It appears that the call is being made, and that a JSON object is being returned... however it does not return the expected results?
Again the URL constructed is the same:
https://www.somedomain.com:somePort/someKey/someUser/somePassword/someTask
So I am wondering what the issue could be:
1) is it the fact that I am browsing the test application from an insecure (http://) web page containing the Flex application and it is accessing a service through https:// ?
2) is the JSON string structurally correct? (it appears so).
3) There is a certificate enabled for HTTPs. it does not match the test site I am using ( the cert is for www.somedomain.com but I am using localhost for testing). Would that be an issue? Google Chrome and IE just asks me to proceed anyway, which I say "yes".
Any help or assistance on this would be appreciated.
thanks
Edward

Hello everyone -
Since I last posted an interesting update happened. I tested my Flex application again, it is calling a Jetty Server that returns a JSON object, in different BROWSERS. I disabled HTTPS for now, and the crossdomain.xml policy file is wide open for testing (ie. allowing every request to return data). So the app accessing the data using HTTP only. Browsers - IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome. Each browser contained the SAME application, revision of the Flash Player (10.3.183.10 debugger for firefox, chrome, opera, safari PC; 11.0.1.129 consumer version in IE9,) take a look at the screen shot (safari not shown although the result was the same as IE and chrome)
Note that Opera and Firefox returned successful values (i.e. successful JSON objects) using the same code generated from the Data Services Wizard. Chrome, IE and, Safari failed with an Internal error. So I am left wondering - WHY? Is it something with the Flash Player? the Browsers? the Flex SDK? Any thoughts are appreciated. Again, the code is found in the original thread above.

• Error while creating Repository in Data Services Managemnet Consloe

Hi All,
I am new to Business Objects Data Services, currently i am working on Data Services, can any one please solve my problem. I am trying to create a Repository in Data Services Management Console of database type MySQL. The details what i provided, is given below:
Repository name:Repository_ONE
Database type:MySQL
Machine name: the system name on which MySQL is installed is provided
Database port: port on which MySQL database installed is provided ie., 3306(default)
Database Name:BOE120 (Here i provided the database name which was installed while BO Edge series is installed)
Finally username and password are maintained. When i click on Test i am getting an error message "Table 'boe120.al_version' doesn't exist", here i am not understanding why this error message is getting. So can anyone please through some ideas to resolve this issue.
Thanks & Regards
Ramakrishna Kamurthy

you can use the same database, but did you create the DS repository during DS Installation ? while installation it will ask you if you want to configure the repository or skip configuration ? if select yes to configure the repo, it will ask you to enter the database login details, you should use the same login details in management console. did you create the repo during installation ?
or From the Data Services program menu, select Repository Manager
Enter the login details, and click on get version, does this returns a version or same error ? if you get the same error then click on create button to create the repo once that completes, you can register the repo in management console
