Data Template construction AND data template validation questions:

Hello World.
I am new to Oracle BI and I have sucessfully used the BI Java APIs to create from start to finish a pdf report process. I use the DataProcessor, RTFProcessor, and FOProcessor classes to do this. My question is other than the most simple of Data Templates being used, how is everyone building their data templates? And I would also like to know how are developers validating the actual data template file? I have submitted a request through my MetaLink account for obtaining either a "dtd" or "xsd" file that could be used to validate a constructed data template. I have not received any real answers. I plan on using either XMLSpy or MyEclispse 6 to create my data templates, but I need a "rule book" dtd or xsd file in order to use the auto prompting feature. Making a data template "in the dark" cannot be the method of choice for all of the developers that visit this forum. I see some really fancy/detailed reports and I would like to see how people are building there data templates. Building the data template is at least half the battle when constructing a BI report.

Notepad is the developer's choice for data definitions, seriously.
I have seen and used XMLSpy and have Stylus Studio but they are really a bit of overkill for the data templates. I use Stylus Studio for some of our XML-FO format templates, but that is another story.

"Data Migration" in HRMS (and other EBS modules) typically refers to the process of moving data from a legacy system to EBS during the process of going-live with EBS.

Turning off cellular data doesn't turn off the ability of the phone to make or receive phone calls. In order to do that, you'd need to put the phone in Airplane Mode.

Workbench is used to create, display and modify the objects. It will display the source table data and we can see the logs of the job which we have executed and also we can see the status of a job. In bods 4.2 you can design the dataflow in workbench in previous release we don’t have that option but designer contains debugging option, you can write scripts, it will support all databases; these option are not available in workbench. for more information refer this document:

hi Kiran,
Data carrier is to achive communication between server and user front end. We can define one data carrier type along with path as default for all or seperate data carriers type for specific users in define data carrier in SPRO. This defined data carriers again we assign to application in defining network for workstation application in SPRO.
By using data carrier we can upload to & download originals from server. We can change and print the documents from server.

BEx Web Template (BTMP) and Web Template (TMPL)

Hi,
I found in BI7 Objects, there are BEx Web Template (BTMP) and Web Template (TMPL). what's the different between them? For the BEx Web Template (BTMP), i can find in Web Application designer.
But for Web Template (TMPL), I cannot find them in Web Application designer. How can I edit them?
for example, there is a standard Web Template (TMPL) 0tpli_0tct_mc01_q0111, where can I change it?

hello,
TMPL is for 3.5 template and BTMP is for BI 7.0 templates. For opening 7.0 template you need to use BI 7.0 WAD not 3.5 WAD.
you can open the standard template 0tpli_0tct_mc01_q0111 in WAD and then do save as to save it custom template.
Then you can edit the custom template and make the changes.
Make sure that the std. template is installed correctly.

Date based Resultset and Date display

I have two jsp pages. In first page user selects a Date and name, based on that 2nd jsp display a resultset in a table. I want to Display Selected name and Date on 2nd Page. I done it for name and unable to show the Date and query is also to be modified.

Export and import of data not table and data ????

this code is correct he expot not only the data but also the creation of the table ....for exemple i do export and evry thing is good until now and i find the .dmp in the folder backup .. but when i deleted all data from my app and try to import this .dmp iit show me error it tell me thet the table phone is already created ....
so plz help wanna just export the data of phone not the creation of table and data ???? or how can i import just the data from this .dmp ??

You will likely need to use the IGNORE flag - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e22490/original_import.htm#sthref2201
Imp utility (by default) will try and create the table first. Since the table already exists, imp reports an error. Use the IGNORE flag in your imp command to not report such errors.

Date chooser day and date not selectable

Hello,
Anyone knows how to make the day and date not selectable in
the datefield or date chooser component???
It is possible to make any one day not available, but what i
need is only a single day not selectable..
For example, i can make every tuesdays of a month not
selectable But, i need to make for example the Tuesday 3rd only Not
selectable
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I believe the problem is that you have US formats for dates. Select the cells/columns that you want your date format to apply to then click the cell format inspector (the 42 in a box icon) & choose Custom… from the cell format drop-down. You will be presented with a box that allows you to make your own format. Click & hold on any of the little "lozenges" in the input bar & move them around. You may need to add a space to get the proper result.

Issue with date of entry and date of posting in F110

Hello,
When we do a payment run (transaction f110) and we do the validation, the entry of all payments is made at the date of the proposal even if the validation is made a few days later. How can we do to have this entry at the date of the validation?
For example, we began a payment run on the 15th of October but the time we work on it, the validation and the sending to the bank are made on the 20th, the entries will be made in the accounts on the 15th and not on the 20th.
Request inputs on this issue.

(BTE, in another words OPEN_FI):
- 00001120 DOCUMENT POSTING: Field substitution header/items
- 00001130 POST DOCUMENT:     SAP-internal field substitution
- 00001810 PAYMENT PROGRAM:   Individual bank determination
- 00001025 POST DOCUMENT:     Final checks completed
- 00001030 POST DOCUMENT:     Posting of standard data
You can check additional documentation about this in transaction FIBF.

How to catch multi language's data in MSSQL and data isn't garbled

Hi everyone, I'm Taiwanese PHP developer, sorry for my poor English.
I have 3 language's data:Simplified Chinese,Traditional Chinese, and English in our mssql2012 database.
If I want to use ADODB to catch data,The Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese will be garbled.
I try to use mb_convert_encoding($data,
'UTF-8','BIG-5'),
the Traditional Chinese is ok, but Simplified Chinese is still garbled.
Do anyone have suggestion?

Not knowledgable on PHP programing, but as far as I know The BIG-5 is specific for traditional Chinese, so that's why you got garbled character for simplified Chinese.
As the Chinese character encoding wiki says, there're newer standards such as
GB18030 and
Unicode which have separate code points for both simplified and traditional characters. I believe this may be a good starting for you to make the conversion work.
Regarding your description, this is not some specific question on SQL Server. I would suggest you post your question on a dedicated PHP forum. It is more appropriate and more experts will help you.

It is possible to have a dynamic Oracle Label Security procedure/script to configure data label (compartments and data label) for multiple rows at same time?

A single script which can be run below mentioned commands... instead of using multiple manual steps for configuring data labels. Is that possible and how? Having bulk of data where OLS need to be applied.

Control over date of TRIP and Date of Travel Claim

Hi SAP gurus,
I need to restrict the system from creating any TRIP Request for past dates and also restrict to create any Travel Claim for the future dates. I didn't find any path in IMG wherefrom I can do the same. Pls suggest any other way from where it can be done.

You can implement BADI to check the different validation in ESS.
Financial Accounting (New) -> Travel Management -> Business Add-Ins and User Exits in Travel Management -> Entry -> BAdI: Define Additional Checks for Web Dynpro
You can validate General Trip Data , Expense Line Items, Cost centre etc.
