  • Data transfer from Oracle table to Sql Server

    Hi Friends,
How can we transfer the data of one table from Oracle to Sql Server and keep refresh it everyday monrning 10 a.m?

    Also see:
    http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle8i/doc_library/817_doc/server.817/a76960/hs_genco.htm#173
    And from Tom Kyte:
...you could put the MS SQL server jdbc driver into the oracle database. then a
java stored procedure can open a connection to MS. This connection would not
have 2 phase commit abilities, distributed query or anything but would let you
query data from there and update it as well.

I don't have TOAD nor any other tool for querying the database.  I'm wondering how I can load a large data set from an Oracle table onto my desktop using Excel or Access or some other tool using ODBC or not using ODBC if that's possible.  I need results to be in a .csv file or something similar. Speed is what is important here.  I'm looking to load more than 1 million but less than 10 million records at once.   Thanks.

    Use Oracle's free Sql Developer
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html
You can just issue a query like this
    SELECT /*csv*/ * FROM SCOTT.EMP
Then just save the results to a file
See this article by Jeff Smith for other options

  • Data Transfer from Oracle database 10g to Oracle database 9i

    Hi Experts,
We need to insert records at the speed of min 10,000 records per sec in the following condition.
    Source : Oracle 10 g and Oracle 9i
We need to select the data from Oracle 10g and insert into Oracle 9i database.
Here we not allowing to create database link and also not allowing to create view or materialized view
because this two database is not on same network.
So we developing the small java application on intermediate server where we write process to get the connection of this two database servers.
From java application we call the procedure for selecting data from Oracle 10g and insert into oracle 9i database.
What is the best way to achieve?
Or You also suggest any other way to achieve
( As per this scenario materialized view is working ? )

    Thanks freiser,
But it create another problem as per my business logic, There will be two database server , one is online server where online user fill the form which is generated by java, spring , hibernate and using database 10 g.
at day end i need to execute a process that transferring data from online server to offline server that is in oracle database 9i. This process is scheduled. Some security reason client do not kept this two database on same network.
My challenge is that transfer data from online server to offline server with applying client security norms.
    I have option like
    1) Using Oracle replication method, creating materialized view on remote server , refreshing it at regular interval. but database connectivity is not contineous, should i go for that ?
    2) Write java application on intermediate server where we write process to get the connection of this two database servers. From java application we call the procedure for selecting data from Oracle 10g and insert into oracle 9i database and using flag on both data to identified how many rows are transfered and how many remaining for trasfer.
Please tell me what is best way to acheive this ?

  • Master data Load from Oracle table

    Hi,
My master data comes from an Oracle table. The table has both attributes and texts combined. How do I load the Master data into the text and attribute info objects thru Direct Upload of Master Data?
Is it necessary to go in for Flexible Upload in this case?
    Regards

    Hi,
you can create two views on the table. One for the text and the other one for the attributes. Create your datasources on these views and assign them to your infoobject.

  • Transfering data from oracle table to a file on a windows server

    Hi
I have an oracle DB version 11.2 running on oracle enterprize linux 5.9. I would much appreciate an suggestions on how to transfer data from the oracle DB to a flat file on a windows server.
What i have done so far is to use utl_file to create a csv file on the oracle server and am now attempting to transfer this file. I was going to use scp or rcp but am unable to get this to work(was looking at filezilla). Another option i can use is ftp as i have a unix script which i can run to do this. All this is done through an oracle package which is run hourly through dbms_scheduler. I have been using sp_host_command to run unix commands directly from pl/sql so can use this to run a unix script for last resort if i cant find an easier way to automate this.
Any suggestions or options would be much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Gary

Well, using DBMS_SCHEDULER you can run o/s commands so you could use that to do your FTP or whatever to move the file.
Alternatively, you could write your own FTP package using the built in UTL_TCP package, or you can get hold of one of the freebie packages people have made available to do the same e.g.

    Hi All,
    It was staging area problem.
So,I created new schema(User/Password in Oracle Database),and give staging area to that newly created schema(Defination Tab of Interface).
Also,in Flow tab,I selected LKM File to SQL. and problem resolved.

  • In PL-SQL archive data from a table to a file

I am currently developing a vb app where I need to archive data from a table to a file. I was hoping to do this with a stored procedure. I will also need to be able to retrieve the data from the file for future use if necessary. What file types are available? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

What about exporting in an oracle binary format? The export files cannot be modifiable. Is there a way to use the export and import utility in PL/SQL?

  • Data transfer from MySQL to Oracle Urgent!

    Hi All,
We have a table in MySQL database and we need to transfer a subset of its data over to Oracle table. The table in MySQL is big, so we created a temp table trying to do it several times. The question is, we set the the primary key column in both MySQL temp table and Oracle table ( a varchar column), when we transfered the data over using "insert into table_name select * from table_name@hsdobc", Oracle always gave the "Null value for not Null column" error, and it's only existed for one row no matter how many rows we want to transfer, but MySQL temp table has no such null value for the primary key column, it's very strange. Anyone knows what the problem might be? Thanks very much in advance.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I checked the MySQL table again, and found that in both the original table and the temp table, there is a row with the primary key column value "null". Don't know what happened? Probably it's a MySQL bug.
It's not Primary Key NULL value. If your new Oracle Table has ANY column defined
NOT NULL and while inserting you have at least one value in one row of coming data is NULL - It will fail. You need either to drop NOT NULL constraint for that
column(s), or provide value for it.
Also you can drop that NOT NULL constraint, Insert your data as is,
Update your data to get rid off all NULLs and put NOT NULL constraint back on.
    ALTER TABLE MY_NEW_TABLE MODIFY MY_NEW_COLUMN NULL;
    UPDATE MY_NEW_TABLE SET MY_NEW_COLUMN = 'Some_Value';
    ALTER TABLE MY_NEW_TABLE MODIFY MY_NEW_COLUMN NOT NULL;

  • # coming when I select data from oracle table using Native SQL

    Hi Gurus,
I am selecting 'First name' from oracle table directly using native sql. I am fetching 65000 records but 10+ records having '#' at the end of firstname. For eg: John#.
But oracle team couldn't find '#' in their table for those records. What could be problem?
or what could be the character in oracle which comes as '#' in abap?
    Pls help...
    Saj

    Thanks for replies.
My DB NLS_PARAMETER is AL32UTF8. I am able to pullout data with older version of ojdbc jar file. So I think there is no issue regarding NLS setting.
So please guide me with proper solution as soon as possible.

Some things output XML all as one stream, some things naturally display it structured. It doesn't matter as the XML is still the same because by it's very nature it is a structured data definition. Anything that reads XML will be able to read it whether it's on one line (streamed) or structured.
