Now When We save data through program 10 char is saved properly.
Problem : When I Use SE16N t-code for changes related field data. At that time only 1 char inserted.
Also Use SE14 for Regenerate Table Structure. but Result is none.

Dynamic Internal Table - data type changed automatically
Dear All,
I have a requirement of craetion of dynamic inetrnal table which I have created referring to a custom table .
In that custom table there is field ZDC002 of type DEC(16,7) which is converted to data type P(9,7) .
Now it works fine if 2 digit and 7 decimals value passed like 12.1234567 but it gives overflow error when passing more than 2 digit value .
Please help me as I have no control to SAP standard functinality while creation of data-type . My piece of code :
ref_table_des ?=
cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'ZBW_EE_DCONTR' ).
idetails[] = ref_table_des->components[].
In this idetails[] table filedname data type changed from DEC16,7 to data type P(9,7). => Total Length of Packed Data Type is 9 which allows to contain only 2 numericdigits and 7 decimals => puts overflow error if more than 2 numeric data passed.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
SachinDid you try to view the code on the Data Source view and cube that it is reflecting the correct data type on both places? if not you can change there and save it.

Why does data type change if "increment" function added?
I have a state machine with a shift register coupling data between states. In an early state I connect an I32 constant to the data path which causes the data path to take on an I32 type. In a later state I insert an increment (+1) function and the data path changes to a DOUBLE type. Why? I can insert an I32 conversion before or after the +1 function and the data path remains or is converted back to I32 type.
It is good programming practice to initialize your variables, be that in C/C++, VB, etc. Likewise, the reason I say you should always initialize your shift register is so that when your VI runs, you know that it starts at your initialized value and not something else.
There will be times when your shift register will start at a previously defined value and you get intermittent problems. It's similar to creating data dependencies in LabVIEW. It's not required but it's good programming practice to have some form of dataflow, be that for troubleshooting or debugging. And yes, there are times (not a whole lot), where you cannot create data dependencies but at times like this, you'll need to make sure you can safely say, I am very sure that this VI wi
ll run before this VI will. Likewise, by initializing a shift register, I can safely say that my loop will always start with 0.
Sorry but I get defensive at times... Gorka is right about how the data type changes. You can changet the data type by changing the representation by right clicking on the shift register.

What needs to be done in OBIEE 11g when underlying data types change?
I have an SQL table that I am referencing. It contains several date fields that were varchar(8). In order to do calculations, I just cast the fields as date, and performed my calculation.
Recently, the DBA changed the fields to date type.
I did a "View Data" and "Update row count", but it seems as if OBIEE is still treating the fields as varchar fields.
What is the proper procedure in OBIEE 11g to recognize the changes that occurred in the underlying table?Hi
In your scenario, I can suggest you can change manually to each field lengths in physical layer.
If you really looking one time fix then try to import the new table stricture into new rpd then save it then try to merge original rpd . – But it is risky process ( We have two methods, patch merge and fully repository merge).
Before doing above method take the backup original rpd and do it in your local.

Fact table data type changed from int to nvarchar -- rebuild on cube fails
I change one of my data types in the Fact table from INT to Nvarchar... When I look at the properties it appears
correct but when I try to Process it fails still thinking it's data type INT.
How can the DSV be refreshed( I did try REFRESH and it noticied the change to field) to reflect new nvarchar data type without
having to rebuild entire Cube.

Coudl anyone plese help...........
Thanks & Regards,
AmarnathHi Ramesh,
Thanks for your reply. It is in internal format only. I changed it to external and selected ALPHA conversion also but it's of no use. I don't know why. Is it the error on BI side or R/3 side?

Hi,
I have created a blog site with the available site template few days back. Now we have the requirement of having the attachments in the body of the comments section.
So, I updated the schema.xml of the comments list available under ../templates/blog/lists/comments/schema.xml to have rich text for the Body field.
With this change, I created a new site and it was working fine. Change is reflected in the new blog site.
However, this particular change is not reflected in the existing blog site. Any changes made to the schema.xml is not effecting the old blog site.
Can anyone suggest what can be done for the change to be reflected in the old blog site?
Thanks in Advance,
Regards, Keerthi SuryadevaraHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to add attachments in the body of the comments section.
You can add the the Code inside the Default list pages. For more information, you can refer to:
Enable Attachment in SharePoint Blog post list and display the list Attachments
In addition, you can add an enhanced rich text field to the comment list and remove the body field. Then you can insert files into comments, too.
Here is a similar thread for your reference:

Changing domain-defined Timestamp data type to logical Date doesn't persist
Hi:
Version 3.1.0.691 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit SP1
I imported a domain from Designer, and then imported a schema from a database, all into the same model, in that order. I then changed the data type on several columns from non-domain, logiical Date data types to Domain-defined Timestamp Wth Time Zone data types. After having done this, I decided that I wanted to leave them as they were and tried to change them back. I went into the relational model section for each table/column and de-selected the domain radio button, chose Logical, and then set the data type to Date. I clicked apply, OK, and then saved the entire model. I closed Data Modeler, re-opened it, and then checked the data type change. I found that the change from domain to logical was saved, but the data type remained as Timestamp With Time Zone instead of remaining as Date like I'd set it. I've tried changing from Timestamp With Time Zone to other data types and then to Date but it didn't work.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
Thanks!
DocHi:
One final comment. I set the domain back to unknown and clicked appy, but left the Column Properties dialog box open. I then clicked the button next to Datatype (which showed UNKNOWN{Unknown}, changed the radio button from Domain to Logical Type, and then selected Date from the list box and clicked OK. Immediately after having clicked OK, the Logical Type dialog box remained open and the Logical Type value within the Logical Type dialog box reverted back to Unknown. I re-selected Date from the list box, clicked OK, and after this second try it kept the change without the "double clutch."

Info Object: Change of Data Type (NUMC to CHAR)
We have a scenario wherein one of the Info objects is defined currently as NUMC. Due to the change in the Source system, the info object is now defined with data type as CHAR. The info object in consideration is the "Cost element".
As the current info object contains data, it will not be possible to change the data type from NUM to CHAR.
Is there any pre-defined way of doing this data type change without loss of data (in the info object as well as the info cube(s) where the info object is used)?
Regards
BalaHi Balakrishana,
Try this:
Insted of changing the definition of infoobject(NUMC to CHAR), why cant you change the data itself from CHAR to NUMC...?? If length is same.
You can write a simple routine in transfer rules and you can convert.
Hope it Helps

PLEASE HELP!!! Problem with Java and SQLServer Text data type
Hi there,
I have a java app. that reads from an MS SQLServer database. Originally, all long text fields were declared as NVARCHAR(200). The program worked fine.
Someone then advised that I change all long text fields to the TEXT data type. The program now crashes out with the following Exception:
"java.sql.SQLException: [JRun][SQLServer JDBC Driver]This ResultSet can not re-read row data for column 25."
Basically, I have a method that retrieves a resulset and iterates through it. The resultset is passed to another method during each iteration. In the example below, the 'specialNote' field used to be NVARCHAR(200). The code worked fine. Then when it was changed to TEXT, the program no longer works with the above Exception thrown.
Anyone know any special way SQLServer TEXT data types need to be handled?
Thanks for any advice!
The code looks something like this in functionality:
<CODE>
public void method1 (Connection conn)
Resultset rs = conn.createStatement().executeQuery("SELECT * FROM ProductBB");
while (rs.next())
method2(rs);
public void method2 (ResultSet rs)
String str = rs.getString("specialNote");
</CODE>Hi JWoods,
Thanks for the suggestion. I originally had the code do what you suggested, ie, get the resultset then retrieve the data all within the same method. The data is then used to set properties in an object.
When I had to create another method that also retrieved a resultset but using a different primary key, then also use the returned data to set the properties in the same type of object, I didn't want to repeat the setter code. That's why I decided to pass the resultsets to the same method that did the property setting.
Unfortunately, it stopped working with the data type change.
Any other thoughts? -
Can we change the data type of a field based on the value of the field
HI Gurus,
My Requirement is as below -- Could you please guide me
in the Printable Adobe form -- for ex - as usual for dates fields in the Object Pallette the object type is a date/time field and for quantity/currency fields corresponding fields are taken
now in case the either the date, quantity or currency is initial in place of displaying 0.00 or empty date we need to display N/A (Not Applicable)
for this I would like to change the data type of the field
to put it simply --
we need to change the data type of date field from DATE&TIME to Char type to hold N/A or Quantity field to Char field to hold N/A
how can we realize this in SAP adobe forms
Thanks in Advace
Ramchander Rao.KHello Ramchander,
You cannot change the data type of the field at run time in Adobe forms because the type of field you choose at the time of design level is associated with the data type itself.
If you want to achieve your requirement, then your main idea should be to set the data type as CHARACTER itself while designing the field in the adobe form itself. CHAR field will comfortably hold the value of Calculation/amount field, Currency field, Amount, Date, Time HHMMSS, Unit Accuracy, Currency key, Floating point number, Numeric text, Client, Language and many other data types.
After designing the field as TEXT field in Adobe form you have two options.
Option 1:
Select the Date field initially as type TEXT field or CHAR field in Adobe forms.
Suppose the name of the field is TEXTFIELD1, then write the Javascript code on this field in Initialize event as below.
if ( this.rawvalue == null )
this.rawvalue = "N/A";
If the field is not blank, then it will show the date. Else it will show "N/A".
Option 2:
Select the Date field initially as type TEXT field or CHAR field in Adobe forms. Do the formatting part in ABAP itself. It will increase the performance. Avoid Javascript as much as possible.
Suppose you have a DATE variable l_dats of type DATS. Then take another variable l_date of type CHAR. Then write the below ABAP code.
MOVE l_dats TO l_date.
IF l_date IS INITIAL.
l_date = 'N/A'.
ENDIF.
Bind the l_date to the TEXT field in the form.
Even in this case, if the field is not blank, then it will show the date. Else it will show "N/A".
But I will suggest you to use Option 2 of keeping the AMOUNT, QUANTITY, DATE, TIME fields etc as CHAR or TEXT fields in Adobe form and do the required formatting in ABAP itself. -
How to change the data type of an item in administrator
Hi,
A summary folder was created. One of the item in the summary folder is a sum. That sum item was created in the business area (based on another item). I can't refresh that summary folder because it gives me an oracle error (Ora-12008 and Ora-01401 the value is too large for the column). The column that this item is based on is of data type Number(13). How can I fix this problem without changing the column's data type of the original table? I already tried altering the data type in the EUL table via TOAD.
Thanks!You really don't need to sum the item before hand if you are going to create a summary!
