Data won't hotsync

I've been trying to set up Oracle Lite and Satellite Forms
database application on a Palm with no results. I've got as far
as getting "sane" error messages in the hotsync log. This is what
I get:
"SFT-EE_EMP skipped because scott was not subscribed to
SFT-EE_EMP"
Now, I followed the "Hands on Document" for Oracle Lite 3.5.0.1
by the letter, and I'm very suspicious about this message, could
it be possible that the documentation is wrong? Or does Satellite
Forms add the prefixes to table names? And how is the Client name
related to the Palm user name? I'm quite confused and
frustrated... :/

For the Wi-Fi issue, click on the link for configuring the TX for wireless internet on the support page listed below. There is also a link to the user guide on the page also.
For reference purposes, click on the following link for the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com webpage.
http://www.palm.com/us/support/tx/
There are links on the page to the user guide, troubleshooting, how to's, downloads, etc.
For the hard reset issue, are you holding down the power button while pressing the reset button?
Click on the following link to the kb.palm.com webpage for the article regarding reset procedures.
http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887
If the power button is not working, there is a program you can install on the TX to remap the power button.
There is a program called PowerBtn 2.0. This allows you to turn off the device when the power button does not work. (Thanks to Computerwiz for the info.)

  • Won't hotsync

    My palm won't hotsync with my computer anymore. I have re-loaded a couple of times, but still nothing. When I try, the computer makes 3 sharp beeps, but no hotsync, and eventually the palm device gives me the message " The connection between your device and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."

    Hi,
    Three beeps, three messages, no replies ! I've been using Palm handhelds for several years now. Rarely have I had problems and up to date I've always found a solution. But this one has stumped me ! I've reinstalled all the Palm software on my PC, cleaned the contacts, soft and hard reset the palm, but all to no avail. Seeing as nothing is shown on the PC screen I suspect it must be linked to a communications problem rather than a software one. Has anyone found a solution ?
    I live in hope !

    How do I delete duplicate songs in my iTunes? I have hundreds and I don't want to delete them one by one. They were all added on the same date, so sorting by the date won't help.

    Hi, if this is in regards to your library simply open up itunes and do the following steps:
    Click File
    Scroll down to "show duplicates"
    A list will then appear of your duplicate song titles.
    Be sure to CAREFULLY review each song to make sure it is a duplicate ( as I have some music that is the same song but live, acoustic etc...)
    Proceed to manually delete each song from the list and leave alone any song that you wish to keep.
    Best of luck,

    Mail Version 3.0 (912.1/912)

    Another bug: The "No Date" option doesn't work properly. I have a smart mailbox set up to show all items dated plus/minus a year from now (i.e. all dated items) and four undated items showed up in the list. Selecting "no date" didn't work, so what I had to do was use the "other" option to set a date a couple of years back then go to iCal to set the items to "no date". That cleared them from the smart mailbox in Mail.

  • Does the toolbox cache queries? Data won't appear.

    While trying to complete the contact management tutorial using CF8 and MS Access, I noticed that two names were missing under "Oracle" on the first output page, index.cfm. When I opened the database, I found the records weren't included. So I added them.
    Weirdly, the new data won't appear. That is, if I create a Recordset, only 5 records appear even though there are actually 7.
    - It's impossible to do a more simple query: SELECT * FROM contact_con.
    - A query created in MS Access query shows 7 records.
    - I've deleted the original recordset and recreated it.
    - I've rebooted.
    What is up with this?

    Nevermind ... I had two databases going. Do'h!

    I am far from an expert on this , but I had the same problem with my Palm TX.  I have found a temporary solution.
    If your hot sync icon has disappeared from yoyr tray in lower right hand corner of computer screen AND
    when you open Palm Desktop and go to Hotsync...the options (custom, view log, etc) are greyed out and not selectable)..When the hotsync icon from the tray disappears (you can no longer hotsync by pressing button or through the desktop software).  Try the following temporary fix.
    Create a HotSync icon on your desktop.  To re-activate the HotSync tray icon, just double click on the hotsync desktop icon and the hotsync tray icon will re-appear, as well as the greyed-outicons under the Palm desktop hotsync option will become active once again.  You should now be able to hotsync.  However, the problem keeps re-occuring, and needs fixing often, which is why I leave the HotSync icon on my desktop to make life simple.  I do not know of a permanent fix.

  • AIR for Android: Streaming audio data won't stop unless I quit....

  • Centro won't Hotsync Calendar and Contacts with desktop

    Here's my problem.  I hotsync, but my Calendar and Contacts don't transfer to or from the handheld to the desktop.  I'm using a Palm Centro and trying to sync with Palm Desktop 4.2.1 on a MacBook running MacOS 10.4.11.
    I already tried a complete restart of my Centro, erasing all user data.  I then hotsynced it and it restored from the backup on my MacBook, but this did not fix the problem.  It restored my contacts and all my apps to their prior status, but I lost all the Calendar data in my Centro.  I still have the data on the MacBook from whenever it was just before it stopped synching correctly.
    The log proposes that I run the Contacts and Calendar applications and then run a hotsync.  I did that, but no results.  I still get the same stuff in the log.
    Please help.

    This may be dumb, but I did not think to look for this until i called Palm for help...
    After I had issues syncing, I re-installed the Palm software..when you do that, it sometimes turns off the ability to sync. To confirm that you have the ability to sync,  open Palm Desktop and go to Hotsync --> Setup, and check the HotSync Controls to see if it is "Enabled"
    Also, if you have problems syncing with Entourage...try this...

  • Streaming audio data won't stop unless I turn off the phone for 5 minutes.

    I have been testing the Curve 8330 regarding streaming audio from an icecast server. The address of the station is http://www.AirProgressive.org, click on "listen". (I have already run this by the icecast experts and they say it is a Blackberry "bug")
    BLACKBERRY USERS! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE STREAM (dataflow) DOES NOT STOP WHEN YOU CLICK "STOP" ON THE MEDIA PLAYER! (and will continue for as long as you leave it on, and even if you turn off your BB for less than 5 Minutes.) I'm not sure if you are charged for these streams, but it seems that the battery is depleted rapidly if this continues without aborting it. See details of my testing below:

    So, to stop the streaming server from communicating with the Blackberry handset, you must either turn it off or disable mobile network for at least 5 minutes.
    It appears that the handset continues to transfer data (and therefore incur charges, if the user does not have an unlimited data plan) if the handset is not turned off or mobile network disabled for at least five minutes. It also runs down the battery much faster because the radio transmitter is actively being used, even if the user is not listening to the stream.
    The Blackberry network has intervening servers that continue to receive data from the streaming server even if the handset is off. This behavior likely has utility to deal with the realities of the cellphone network, to allow the stream to be transferred from one cell to another, and deal with the possibility that the handset may be out of range for up to 5 minutes without "interruption." However, it is hard to turn off the stream.
    QUESTIONS:
    1. Is there a way to stop this sort of behavior using a configuration setting or something? It seems particularly stupid to start a new stream connection each time a STOP/START cycle is completed, allowing the old connections to continue streaming data (even if the data does not make it to the handset).
    2. IS IT TRUE that the user will be "charged" for the data streams that are not disconnected?
    3. Is there a way for a developer to send a signal to the intervening cellphone network to discontinue the orphan streams?
    THANKS!!

    No, I'm using something like this :
    to start...
                       channel = new SoundChannel();
                                            soundPlay = new Sound();
                                            urlReq=new URLRequest;
                                            urlReq.url=mylUrl;  // url of radio mp3
                                            soundPlay.load(urlReq);
                       channel = soundPlay.play();
    to stop it...
                          channel.stop();
                          channel=null;
                          try{soundPlay.close();} catch (e:Error) {} // error or not, the sream won't stop.
    Any idea ? Did you try with a NetStream object ?

  • Migrating from Oracle to SQL Server - data won't migrate but no errors

    I'm attempting to migrate a database from an Oracle 11g (11.1.0.7.0 64-bit) database to a SQL Server 2008 R2 (10.50.4033.0).  I'm using SSMA, and the Oracle tool was installed on the target SQL Server by the DBA.  I've completed all the steps up
    to and including synchronizing the database, and the empty tables all exist in SQL Server.  When I run the step to migrate the data, I get:
    Migrating data...
    Analyzing metadata...
    Preparing table POLICYS.LOGINS...
    Preparing data migration package...
    Starting data migration Engine
    Starting data migration...
    Data migration operation has finished.
        0 table(s) successfully migrated.
        0 table(s) partially migrated.
        1 table(s) failed to migrate.
    Then a summary box appears, and there is a red X next to the table (I'm trying to just convert 1 small table to begin with.)  What immediately appears to be wrong is that the "To" table is blank.
    I've attempted this multiple times, different tables (initially tried all tables) and tried both Server Side and Client Side migrations with the same result.  There are no errors or warnings on the Error List.
    I've found another online post where the user had the same issue, but in that instance they fixed it by changing the case of the table name. I tried that, but it didn't help.  I'm not sure what is wrong that it won't migrate any data.  Any help
    is appreciated.  TIA

  • Clip date won't work

    I'm having intermittent luck at using the Adjust Clip Date and Time command. I imported some analog tapes so the default date given is today's date. On some of these events, when I select all the clips in the Event and choose Adjust Clip Date and change it, say, to 1989, it moves the event down into the 1989 folder. But I do the very same thing, selecting all the clips by using command-A and visually verifying that all the clips are indeed selected, then trying to adjust the date, it indeed changes the date to the correct year, but it doesn't move it out of the 2010 folder. I've tried changing to different years (1989, 1990, 1991, etc0 but it still won't move the event to the correct folder. Other events move just fine. I tried moving the Event manually by dragging it to the correct folder but it won't scroll down to the correct folder. Any thoughts?

    This is a followup to my question above. I called Apple Tech Support and supposedly talked to an iMovie expert. He said that some clips have metadata and some don't. I told him that the clips that wouldn't move to the proper year folder were on the very same videotape that other clips were taken from that moved to the proper year folder. All he could say was that some clips have metadata and some don't.
    I can't imagine an analog tape having metadata but that's what he seemed to be saying. I also asked if there was a way I could edit some of the movie data files to fix it and he said no. When I opened that data file in TextEdit, there was a lot of gobbledy-good but also some dates that said 2010. But he said changing those to the proper year wouldn't solve the problem and might make the movie unviewable.
    So the search continues for a solution...

Unit connects and begins, gets to stage 2 (calendar) of 13 and just hangs. Have read your old posts so let it operate for over 30 minutes and no change. Had to use task manager to shut down. BTW, have uninstalled/reinstalled Access 6.2 but no change. Any ideas or other thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    DBFixit2 also "fixed" the DMwrite fatal error/removed it, but anyway, now able to sync without the hangups. Good investment of $12.95...and it looks like they even have technical support for the product and the Palm process.

    My iMac says its up to date (its only version 10.7.5) and won't allow me to download OS X mavericks 10.9.2? I need it to install the new iMovie...

    To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
