what do i do? Name Redefined?

In the code there are 2 "INSERTS" but for some reason
Dreamweaver creates the second set with the same variable names
(when ever else it generates code it adds a number!?). When the
code is executing its freaking out at finding two inserts with the
same name...
So you need to go through the second insert and replace the
MM_editcmd with MM_editcmd2 or whatever you want to call it...as
long as its different. The find and replace (within selected text)
will make that job easy...
Hope that helps.

When joining the firstname and surname fields in my inital SQL query of my interactive report i.e
    INITCAP(INDSNAME)||' '||INITCAP(INDFNAME) AS FULLNAME,
When clicking through to the record detail page I am getting the following error from the page item where in the source I am specifying FULLNAME under Source value or expression
Column FULLNAME not found in table MYTABLENAME
How can I get around this?
    Many Thanks

    Hi Bas
Thanks - it will just be a view as basically I just want to print the data via jasper
In my IA report under column attributes there is one called FULLNAME which is derived from INITCAP(INDSNAME)||' '||INITCAP(INDFNAME) AS FULLNAME,
So how can I get the data displayed in the FULLNAME column in the IA report into a single record view.  At the moment my IA report the Link Column is currently linked to a 'Link to custom target'
the target is a 'Page in this Application'  in this case page 9
and in Item1 under Name the value is P9_ROWID and the value is #ROWID#

I have tweaked the shared memory max as suggested in Oracle Manual / SAP Installation Guide, to no avail.
    The listener is up already.
When I logged in as user ORA<SID>, and go to svrmgrl > startup nomount pfile=init.ora, it can startup without hassle.
Although the Product is not supported in PAM, we have another machine running smoothly for years with this product combination, so it's not the product compatibility issues.
But when using R3SETUP -f DATABASE.R3S, the phase stopped with the log pasted above.
    Any ideas, gurus?
    Thanks for help.
    Best Regards,

Mr. Markus, there's no file on saptrace/usertrace.

  • Oracle 8i database data recover problem

    Hi hi,
I've recently encountered a problem on how to restoring data from old oracle folders to a new oracle 8i database.
Originally, my oracle 8i was installed in windows 2000 server on a harddisk (J:\oracle old) separated from that the OS (windows 2000 server) resided. Recently, the harddisk with the OS has been permanantly demaged and I've installed windows 2000 server on a new harddisk (C:\winnt), reinstalled the oracle database (J:\oracle).
However, is there any way to recover the data from an instance of the original database to the newly created database.
I will be grateful for any suggestion? Thanks a lot.

    CREATE CONTROLFILE
    Caution:
Oracle recommends that you perform a full backup of all files in the database before using this statement. For more information, see Oracle9i User-Managed Backup and Recovery Guide.
    Purpose
Use the CREATE CONTROLFILE statement to re-create a control file in one of the following cases:
All copies of your existing control files have been lost through media failure.
You want to change the name of the database.
You want to change the maximum number of redo log file groups, redo log file members, archived redo log files, datafiles, or instances that can concurrently have the database mounted and open.
    Note:
If it is necessary to use the CREATE CONTROLFILE statement, do not include in the DATAFILE clause any datafiles in temporary or read-only tablespaces. You can add these types of files to the database later.
An alternative to the CREATE CONTROLFILE statement is ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE, which generates a SQL script in the trace file to re-create the controlfile. If your database contains any read-only or temporary tablespaces, that SQL script will also contain all the necessary SQL statements to add those files back into the database.

    Hello,
I have recently installed the Oracle 10g Database Server for Win32. The installation seemed to be successful. I used the Enterprise option and all the suggested defaults. Ihave the following services installed and started after the installation:

Seems that I can never get the database started properly?! When I press the Startup/Shutdown button I get:

This is the correct current database status, although it doesnot match the current status in the sitemap page
What does this mean? Do you think this may contain the clue to the answer to this problem?
When I restart the Database I get the same status: unavailable.
I need your help to resolve this problem. The alternative is to revert back to Oracle 9i DB Server. Thank you in advance.

  • T400 and T61 Dim Display problem....

    Good day,
I am having extremely strange problem, and would apreciate any help. I also experiencing this exact problem with a T61 laptop.
The display screen is extremely dim. I have changed the LCD Panel, LCD Cable, Inverter Card as well as the Systemboard. And I am still experiencing the same problem, not only for the T400, but also for the T61.....
If anyone has any solution to this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Best regards,
    Uttam A. Dookhran

I recently started having the same problem on my three-year old T61. The screen is legible, but definitely dimmer than it used to be. I'm happy to replace something, if I know what the problem is. Sounds like you have already done all the things I would have done. Did you also replace the backlight?

  • Dimming screen problem

I am also having a problem with the screen going dim, and not being able to brighten the display.
I have already gone to preferences>EnergySaver and unchecked "Automatically reduce the brightness of the display before display sleep and it did not help.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
    thanks in advance.

I had that problem last october when i bought my 20" G5, was a faulty power inverter that was causing it....course it took apple 3 months to fix the problem due to the parts being put ona shelf and forgotten (although they didnt forget to charge me for the parts i didnt recieve). In the end it got all sorted out, but now im getting the scrambled video problem mentioned in the notice on the supprt forums. It's strange, i thought i bought an apple...not a lemon.
    Miffed customer
P.S. check out the notice if you have any display or power issues, as apple seems to be addresing them (although you have to take your computer to a dealer, which for me is impossible seeing as the nearest one is 400km's away).

  • SHARED MEMORY AND DATABASE MEMORY giving problem.

    Hello Friends,
I am facing problem with EXPORT MEMORY and IMPORT MEMORY.
I have developed one program which will EXPORT the internal table and some variables to the memory. This program will call another program via background job. IMPORT memory used in another program to get the first program data.
This IMPORT command is working perfect in foreground. But  it is not working in background.
So, I have reviewed couple of forums and I tried both SHARED MEMORY AND DATABASE MEMORY.  But no use. Still background is giving problem.
When I remove VIA JOB  parameter in the SUBMIT statement it is working. But i need to execute this program in background via background job. Please help me . what should I do?
pls find the below code of mine.
    option1
    EXPORT TAB = ITAB
           TO DATABASE indx(Z1)
                FROM   w_indx
                CLIENT sy-mandt
                ID     'XYZ'.
    option2
    EXPORT ITAB   FROM ITAB
      TO SHARED MEMORY indx(Z1)
      FROM w_indx
      CLIENT sy-mandt
      ID 'XYZ'.
       SUBMIT   ZPROG2   TO SAP-SPOOL
                      SPOOL PARAMETERS print_parameters
                       WITHOUT SPOOL DYNPRO
          *_VIA JOB name NUMBER number*_
                       AND RETURN.

Hope every bidy understood the problem.
my sincere request is ... pls post only relavent answer. do not post dummy answer for points.
    Thanks
    Raghu

    Hi.
You can not exchange data between your programs using ABAP memory, because this memory is shared between objects within the same internal session.
When you call your report using VIA JOB, a new session is created.
Instead of using EXPORT and IMPORT to memory, put both programs into the same Function Group, and use global data objects of the _TOP include to exchange data.
Another option, is to use SPA/GPA parameters (SET PARAMETER ID / GET PARAMETER ID), because SAP memory it is available between all open sessions. Of course, it depends on wich type of data you want to export.
    Hope it was helpful,
    Kind regards.

  • Screen Dimming Setting Problems. . .

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this: In system preferences energy saver/options I have checked "automatically reduce brightness of display before sleep." The problem is that if I don't check that - -which I would prefer not - - my screen goes dark after about 60-90 seconds of inactivity. My ideal is to not have the screen dim and then go to screensaver but apparently there is no way to do this.
My question:Do others have this problem? If you solved it, how? All suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks!

I talked to a product specialist from Apple (through Applecare after waiting for an hour!) and he acknowledged it is not supposed to behave the way you and I are describing. He sent m a little program that does a "data dump" which I then emailed back to him which he sent on to the engineers, and they are supposed to get back to me the next couple of days. We'll see.
Obviously, you're in the same boat. I find it totally obnoxious to have to touch the trackpad every minute or so to keep the screen bright. Major glitch.
I'll post again if Apple solves this one. . .

  • APEX Database Account Authentication Problem

    Hi There
I'm developing an application in APEX 3.1 on top of an Oracle 10g database. The schema account ABC has full control of all objects but additional users have been added USER1 for example. When I set the authentication of the APEX application to Database Account I am able to login as ABC but not when I use USER1. The errors I receive are:
    ORA-28007: the password cannot be reused ORA-06512: at "APEX_030200.WWV_FLOW_SECURITY", line 248 ORA-06512: at "SYS.WWV_FLOW_VAL", line 55 ORA-06521: PL/SQL: Error mapping function
ERR-10480 Unable to run authentication credential check function.
I haven't used any custom funtions, pages or procedures, even tried starting a new app from scratch and still am not able to login.
    Thanks
    Daniel

Thanks Varad, but I was able to log in to PL/SQL Developer using the USER1 credentials. I have found the problem though, the Oracle database was an older version than this APEX functionality could work with. We upgraded the database and now I can log in fine.

  • Slow database log in problems

My developers are complaining that takes a user a long time to sign into the database through a SQL*Plus session.
I don't see any obvious errors - if some one can through some light in this issue.

I don't see any obvious errors - if some one can through some light in this issue. There are 3 basic layers in a SQL*Plus logon (across tcp).
The network part. This can take several hops, via several vlans and subnets and routers and firewalls.
The listener part. It needs to accept the tcp connection request. It needs hand that connection request over to a dispatcher, or spawn a dedicated server process and hand the connection to it.
The database part. The process dealing with the new session has to initialise (run logon triggers, update the audit table if session logons are audited, etc).
Any one of these, or all of these, can impact on connection performance.
The network part can be checked using commands like ping and traceroute to determine if there are possibly issues.
The listener part - a tad more difficult to test. Can be done by enabling listener debug tracing and checking the calls made by the listener for dealing with a connection and whether any of these seem to be a problem. It could use reverse DNS resolution.
The database part - for that you need to check just what a user/app schema logon entails and whether there are potential performance issues in this regard.

  • Database Link.  Problem in Forms. Baffled!

    Hoping someone can help.
I'm working on a system that has a form on it with a problem. Although there is a currently compiled and working version of this form available, I cannot get it to compile.
    The situation is this.
There are 2 databases, MINX a 9i database, and PROD an APPS 11i database.
On the database PROD exists a view called MTL_ITEM_CATEGORIES_V.
SELECT is granted on this to the APPSINQ user.
On the database MINX exists a public synonym MTL_ITEM_CATEGORIES_V, which points at the view MTL_ITEM_CATEGORIES_V on the PROD database by way of a public database link, also called PROD. The database link uses the APPSINQ user on the PROD database.
(once the set_org_context, and nls_language have been set)
From SQL on the MINX database, I can select from the public synonym, MTL_ITEM_CATEGORIES_V, and rows are successfully returned from the MTL_ITEM_CATEGORIES_V view on the PROD database. This is all ok and good.
However, in the main form, is a trigger which does a select from the public synonym and this will not compile.
I get the error : identifier 'CATEGORY_SET_ID' must be declared.
It's like it can't see the category_set_id column in the view. However, if I create a new block, and base it on the public synonym, the category_set_id column is there for me to choose. Meaning that forms CAN see the column.
    Am baffled! Anyone ??

    Hi
I´ve got some problems with synonyms and dblinks in forms too. Try creating a local view based on the remote view usign the dblink (do not use the public synonym) and try to compile again.
I think in some cases the compiler gets lost trying to follow synonyms and links. a forms bug maybe?

  • Database Adapter Polling problem

    Hi All,
The polling option is processing all the rows in a table at a time instead of using polling frequency. I have used an option of update a field (logical delete) where I have initialized unread value='N' and read value='Y'. Now ,the problem is i have to poll a single row from the table for every 60 seconds ( second row should be processed only after 60 seconds), but all the rows are processing at a same time. Can somebody let me know what could be the problem?
The options that I set in db adapter are:
    Polling Frequency: 60 seconds
Database &rows per XML Document: 1
    Database Rows per transaction: 1
    JDBC options , Query & Timeout: 60
    Thanks,

  • Database log in problem

I tried to log in as sys/oracle as sysdba but it says as lack of privielieges. Please how i can correct the problem?

Please post the contents of the sqlnet.ora file. You should be able to connect if you are using the same account used to install and create the database. On the other hand, you should verify the way you are getting connected to the windows session, if you are using a domain authenticated user, then your administrator should add your user to the ORA_DBA group. Also, please specify if you are connected directly on a DOS session or if you are attempting to connect remotely.
One last thing, please specify the commad line used to connect and the DB version you are currently using.

  • Database connectivity timeout problem

I am using struts framework for my web application and in between just for a test I have used spring framework database connectivity too in few files. I have deployed my application on tomcat 5.5 server on linux machine. Application is running fine, but sometimes this application shutdown by itself and I have to restart tomcat again (like 3-4 times a month). I wan to run this application continuously. I am getting this error in my log files
    1 Error: DAO.SpringInformDAO[ERROR](SpringInformDAO.java:loadTypelessNameIDListProduct:246)org.springframework.dao.DataAccessResourceFailureException: StatementCallback;
2.Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.CommunicationsException: The last packet successfully received from the server was40524 seconds ago.The last packet sent successfully to the server was 40524 seconds ago, which is longer than the server configured value of 'wait_timeout'. You should consider either expiring and/or testing connection validity before use in your application, increasing the server configured values for client timeouts, or using the Connector/J connection property 'autoReconnect=true' to avoid this problem.
    3. Caused by: java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe
Does someone has any idea how to solve this problem?? It would be great help
    Thanks

    mantoo wrote:
Thanks for reply. Ok let me explain again, may I was using wrong words. Actually, my web application stops automatically after few hours, I don't know know what is the reason, whether it is tomcat or sql sever. What I concluded from various Google search that it might be because of sql server waiting time and connection ideal time difference does not match. By default SQL server's wait_time is 8 hours, so after that this errors occurs. For dealing this I put following attributes in my resource tag in context.xml.
    (testWhileIdle="true" timeBetweenEvictionRunsMillis="10000" minEvictableIdleTimeMillis = "60000" )
After doing this I am not getting those errors which I have written in my previous post, but now it is showing this :
    ERROR: transport error 202: handshake failed - received >GET http://www< - excepted >JDWP-Handshake< ["transport.c",L41]
JDWP exit error JVMTI_ERROR_NONE(0): could not connect, timeout or fatal errorListening for transport dt_socket at address: 8000So the real problem is that tomcat is exiting. It isn't crashing, just exiting.
Database problems would not cause that. Excluding the possibility that the driver is calling System.exit() - in which case you would be using a non-standard driver.
    Other reasons for application exit.
    1. Your code, or some library that you use is calling System.exit().
    2. Your JNI code or some library that uses JNI code has a library in C/C++ that is calling the OS application exit in that code.
    3. Tomcat probably has some API that allows you to stop it - some place the java code is calling it
    4. Some other process outside of tomcat is terminating the application.
Greping can potentially eliminate some of the possibilities above.
As for 4 you can analyze the shutdown time to determine if it shuts down at the same time or after the same amount of time.
