Database in use error

Hi,
I am working Kodo 2.5.2 with hsql.
Goal: Catching SQLException and try to gracefully recover.
I am able to cath this exception:
ERROR [ApplicationServerThread] (RegisterListener.java:59) -
com.solarmetric.kodo.runtime.FatalDataStoreException:
java.sql.SQLException: Try to insert null into a non-nullable column:
23000 Try to insert null into a non-nullable column in statement
However, once I caught the exception above, any attempt to access the
database will result in this error:
com.solarmetric.kodo.runtime.FatalDataStoreException:
java.sql.SQLException: The database is already in use by another process
[code=-1;state=08001]
Any ideas/comments would be greatly appreciated.

This turned out to be my own "user error". I needed to put "null-value"
attribute into my field.

Hi,
B1 was stable for a couple of weeks but Friday I received an email from our Accountant (Larrry) who wanted to run a report out of MRP/Materials Management. The error indicated “Manufacturing Database in Use”. I restarted the server on Saturday and the issue resolved.
Today our Supply Chain Manager crashed out of the SAP three times while trying to run an inventory transaction. The error is simply “data in use”.
In event viewer on the server I see a "Lockserver" and "MAINU1" error (see screen shots).
Any idea why we are seeing the "database in use" messages?

The above error indicated that, some of the operation is running in server.
It will be better to check with server administrator.

I have checked in <sid>adm user since we have looged in the same user Id.
There was no entrie for the SAPTRACE in environmental variable.
I have inserted and given the requried path"F:\oracle\MRP\saptrace".
Thankyou....hope in my next restart of the server it will work....

I have Lync 2013 and 2010 , still i didn't finish my migration completely from 2010 to 2013 .this is coexistence environment that contains both Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013 .
There was no error's in my lync 2013 front end and back end server's and every thing was fine, yesterday I installed windows updated AND CU for my lync 2013 front end and backend server's .
later on after restarting both the front end and the back end server's i start having hundred's of these error's related to "LS Call Park Service".
so any advice for these issue ? and what is the effect for these error .

Sintax error depending database link used

Hi every one, I have a weird weird situation and I need some tips to deal with it.
A code like that:

WHY this kind of code could faisl with sintax errors: dbe_jobs_pkg.pr_eje_alm:26-04-2010 09:22 --> ast_codigo = 47:ORA-06550: line 69, column 14:
PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "A"."TABLESPACE_NAME": invalid identifier)
depending of the database link used. Indeed, if I execute de query in a isolated way (sql*plus for example) it works fine using the database link whose plsql fail
I garantee there is not grants problems...
By the way, the code begun to fails suddendly, and I don't know what happened....
All the databases are 9.2.0.5
I need sugestions to track o investigate the posible causes

I've restarted the source database and the PL/SQl with sintax error now works fine....Still I need some tips to understand what's going on.....

my guess is that you can create the database link, which simply points to the remote instance. however, the problem is on the remote instance.
As the error message suggest, make sure that the listener is up and running on the remote machine. The link can be created, but if there is no listener on the other side, you will not get any response.

We created a winform application to generate a form letter report that runs fine within the IDE. When we build the the exe and copy it from the project folder to a folder on the C:\drive of this same pc and try to execute it we get these error messages (partial list);

We have the CPU set to x86 as we are ultimately trying to generate a 32 bit app for XP and Win 7. We only installed the 32 bit run time on this pc because we have no intention of going to 64 bit apps on the clients. Are there additional dlls or something that has to be installed in the same folder as the exe on this development machine.

Looking at the AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_myprograminfo led us to the last dll loaded being:

Scanning the community for "crdb_adoplus_res_en.dll" we got a hot on this issue again:
Failed to load database information. Error in File temp_
From the above we found this:
1. the app.exe.config is all in one package which cannot be separated with the EXE file.
2. the supporting component such as dll files, app.exe.config etc CANNOT be combined into the EXE file
Adding the cr3Test.exe.config to the same folder as the cr3Test.exe RESOLVED the problem on Win 7. It also RESOLVED the problem on Server 2012 R2.
We still need to test on Server 2008 R2 but we are hopeful when that time comes.

I am trying to do logical database in a function module. I need to know where do i go to define which logical database to use? Becuase i get syntax error on my Get statement. The logical database i am trying to use is HR PNP .

I think we can't assign logical database to FM or FG. Because there isn't any option to put the logical database in the FM or FG's attributes.
You must have to create a executable report to have the LDB in use.

Database link using problem

I have created database link using following code.

USING 'mydb'
After created this database link, I tried to access the table 'emp' from 'mydb' database. so, I was given
select * from emp@mydb; But its howing me an error message as 'ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name'.
But when I try to connect mydb,its connecting properly.
then,why its showing this error message when I given select * from emp@mydb;

To be TNSNAMES.ora independent you would better create the DB link as
create database link mydb
connect to your_db_user
identified by "your_passwd"
using '(description=(address=(protocol=tcp)(host=your_host)(Port = your_port) )(connect_data=(sid=your_sid)))'
/change all the your_* parameters accordingly to your environment.
Note: Never use the sys- or system account for any application development ;)

How to create database connection using DB2Driver in JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0?

I am trying to create a JDeveloper/Data Connection using com.oracle.ias.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver. The driver is registered from a User Libraries: DataDirect JDBC. I have the following class path for the library:
E:\DataDirect\3.4\lib\YMdb2.jar;E:\DataDirect\3.4\lib\YMbase.jar;E:\DataDirect\3.4\lib\YMutil.jar
I have no trouble configuring the connection but when I test it and I got No suitable driver Vendor code 0. Whats wrong? I have successfully created several database connections using Oracle thin driver. This is first time I am using a third party driver. Has any one successfully create a database connection using the com.oracle.ias.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver?

Since the error points to the unavailability of the driver class,can you double check your library claspath entries again.
I just tried a DB2 connection using the following properties and the connection went through fine:
Driver class name: com.oracle.ias.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver
URL: jdbc:merant:db2://<host_name>:50000;DatabaseName=SAMPLE

Hi All,
We've been running CR for VS2010 for a number of years in our web app without any issues. Using the same code we recently upgraded our application to support x64 and we have run into this error on our QA servers:
Failed to load database information. Error in File ReportName{Guid}.rpt. Failed to load database information.
Here's are server setup:
Windows Server 2012 Datacenter x64
SAP Crystal Reports Runtime Engine for .Net Framework (64-bit)
IIS 8
Database Server
Oracle 12c
Interestingly, Crystal Reports works fine on our dev machines and it also works on our dev machines if I connect to the QA Database server directly. So I've ruled out any Oracle issues.
I believe the permissions are set up correctly for CR to run, but I'd like to know what permission CR needs to run. I can't find a definite answer reading the forum posts or on the WIKI.
I've used Process Monitor and there seems to be some permission issues with the uf12manager.DLL. See attached document.
I'm really stuck here and any help is appreciated.

Nothing to do with UFL manager, that may be a missing dependency.
Search on a kbase on how to enable crlogger, that may tell you what is failing.
Typical Oracle issues on a 64 bit app is I believe you need to install the Oracle 64 bit Client and then 32 bit client.
Do we support Oracle 12? No we don't...

Failed to load database information. Error in {GUID}.rpt

I have a C# windows service that load a rpt file and export it to PDF
I am required to use XML as data source for the rpt file, and in the IDE of CR 2013 it always works fine via local XML file, and also I create a http/https pages which returns a XML stream, it still works, preview fine.
And then I debug into my unit test project, load the rpt file, set the necessary parameters, and at last call the ReportDocument.Export(), the PDF was generated successfully.
But when I deploy the windows service in my local machine, it always throw out an exception with the error message of “Failed to load database information. Error in {GUID}.rpt” at ReportDocument.Export().
Here is the environment of my local machine:
    Windows 7 (64 bit)
    NET framework 4.0 / VS2010 build with “Any CPU”
    CR2013 with the latest run-time packages for VS
    I also have crdb_xml.dll in both of the following paths:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86

I have deployed the crdb_xml driver as the steps mentioned in your links, it resolved previous error. Thanks a lot!
But now I encountered another problem, ok, here is my work flow:
1. I create two separate .net pages which return xml stream for my report file, one for main report and the other for the sub report. And these pages need to pass parameters.
2. I create http/https URL xml data source for both the main report and sub report, also I added the parameters in the end of my creation by @prompt function.
3. Then I preview my report, enter the necessary parameters in the pop-up window, and click “OK”, the xml data returned from my URL and displayed correctly in my report.
4. Then I test into my windows service:
1) Create an object of CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument() named rptDoc to load my report file.
2) Set parameters to rptDoc via the function of rptDoc.SetParameterValue()
3) Apply my logonInfo and attributes information
4) rptDoc.Export().
Then I got my problem, the parameters did not send to my .net pages all the while, but it is worked fine if I previewed the report in CR 2013 design tool.
Is it the problem that I missed some settings in my .net code or any way CrystalReport.Engine did not support to pass parameters to a report with http/https xml data source?
I am blocked by this issue, any suggestion? Thanks!

Database type used in DMS

Can somebody please tell me what Database is used in DMS? I understand that this is an appliance so please don't flame me. I have to answer this for a compliance issue with a hospital. Telling them that it is an appliance with a hardened database will not cut it. They must know the database name.

The classes/shared libraries need only to be available to the server - they do not need to be available to ALDSP Studio, since the database is access via the server. Double check that the required classes/shared libraries for your jdbc driver are available to your server ]
I searched our CR database for the stacktrace/error that you have and found serveral CR. Most of them indicate the problem was jar file(s) for the jdbc driver were not present in the client classpath. So - whatever you added to the server classpath (and PATH - if there were also shared object libraries) - we need to add those to the ALDSP Studio (eclipse) classpath (PATH).
you can put the jar(s) in
aldsp_3.0\eclipse-plugins\dsp\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.dsp.ide.external_3.0.0
and modifying
aldsp_3.0\eclipse-plugins\dsp\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.dsp.ide.external_3.0.0\META-INF/manifest.mf.
There are two places in manifest.mf you will need to add the jar file - once under Bundle-Classpath and once under Export-Package.

Database creation using ant/maven/liqubase

Dear ALL:
I am creating the database instance using the ant/maven scripts and following are the things I tried but some how it is not creating the database.
I have installed the 64bit oracle 11gR2 on windows 7 and configured the default database (ORCL). after installation I opened up the command prompt and tried sqlplus and it get connected and I can see the tables. However when I tries to do it using the build script it fails. Following are few things I tried out.
I plan to created 'orcl as the database with sid=orclusing the ant command 'ant -Denv=dev clean create-db -d' but it failed saying orcl is already running and you need to shut down it and I think it is expected because I am creating the database named orcl which is already created. Then I changed database name to dms and sid=dms then it throws error that you cant connect to the server with following error.

Database Exception Handling Error

I created an async BPEL process that does a simple insert into a database, and added error handling to ensure that database errors are trapped and interested parties notified when errors occur. To test the exception handling, I created a dummy table with an id and value column, where the value is declared as varchar2(1). Then I invoked the BPEL process with a string value longer than 1 character.
I expected to have the process catch the error, execute a java embedded System.out.println, assign the fault details to a fault variable string, and then terminate, with the terminated process displayed in the BPEL Console. Much to my surprise, as this executed perfectly in BPEL 10.1.2, this did not happen. Instead, the java embedded System.out.println executed, but then the following error was generated and the BPEL process was sent to the Manual Recovery area.

I decided to test this on my local SOA Suite, instead of deploying to the development server, and again to my surprise, the exception was caught and handled as expected, with no errors thrown. I then realized that I hadn’t set up the datasource, connection pool, and DbAdapter connection factory in Enterprise Manager for the database being used. I configured these appropriately, and once again the above error happened, this time on my local SOA Suite. I removed the connection from the DbAdapter connection factory, and the exception was once again caught and handled appropriately.
Since our database passwords have to be changed periodically, we are required to configure the datasource etc on the server so password management can be done in one place. That being the case, I’m hoping someone can provide some ideas to help resolve this issue. I tried changing a few of the database settings in Enterprise Manager (using dataSourceName instead of xADataSourceName, setting usesBatchWriting to false instead of true) but none of these changes worked.

You should look into Bridge [GOF:151] and Memento [GOF:273].
Bridge allows you to decouple your mechanism from the implementation memento on how to propergate the decoupled exception information.
