Oracle Database Audit Health Check
Hi Experts,
I have been looking for checklist to perform the oracle database audit.
what is the best practise to perfrom the database audit health check.
Regards
Mohammed. Abdul MuqeetHi,
What is it mean for Health Check, You mean you have audit enable in your database and you want to manage it. if so
then you have to take care of Audit area at OS level and sys/aud$ table
for Audit Area: you can schedule a job to clear that are time to time
for sys.aud$: Move this table to non- system tablespace and moniter the uage. can purge the data if not required after taking the backup..

Ora9i database monitor health check thro diagnostic pack
Hi,
It was quite long time since, i could not able to monitor the database health for all the databases through enterprise manager console--standalone mode ---. Even i tried with connection through intelligent agent and the default is client connection. can any experts guide me to fix this issue please.
Thanks n advance
efshafihi,
Thanks for the prompt reply. The database version is 9.2.0.0 from standalone enterprise mode. I can able to connect and go inside to check the instance, schema, security, etc but on the sublevel of instance management to monitor the database health, it again ask for the usernname, password, service name, connect as. While I log in sys password service name and connect as sys dba. without any error message it comes out the session.

Network health check and configuration advise
I need to do this with a network with 200 router and switches. Does anybody have suggestion on how to approach this with software?
thanksThe Cisco product for this would be Cisco Prime LMS which is provided with purchases of Cisco Prime infrastructure. If you're brand new to network management though I wouldn't recommend taking on its deployment and configuration on your own as it is a pretty complex product and requires its own dedicated server.

Hi All,
I have System center DPM 2012 which takes backup of Exchange 2010, File server, VM's and system state for physical servers. I want to perform health check on DPM. Kindly recommend any tool or report format and how to perform health check ?The only thing i know is the Configuration Analyzer from MS: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj992580.aspx
All other things can be done with PowerShell Scripts:

SCOM health check on Exchange 2010 servers
Hi,
Does SCOM have any built-in function to perform
health check on Exchange 2010 servers? You can check health check of Exchange 2010 by install management pack of Exchange 2010.
Here's management pack of exchange 2010

Before Import management Pack and how to configure it, you can check below link

Hi guys
i want to run oracle health check i.e
1. check security on the users , roles , privileges
2. db maintenance
3. all reports to check the databases
but the main thing is i have to use Enterprise Manager (OEM) to do all that.
we are ruining oracle 10g r2 and 11g
you help with be greatly appreciated.855161 wrote:
hi guys it's all good but you are missing a major key point.
i need to use oracle enterprise manager OEM to do database security check, health check and other critical loop wholes...What if EM is the loophole? What if it spews information to the web? What if Oracle claims something is not EM but shares the configuration?
Run this:
$ORACLE_HOME/ccr/bin/emCCR status
By default, it is collecting your Network Interface MAC accress [sic] and listing all your users into a world-readable directory. Then when you use support, you are badgered to automatically upload all the information.
Or maybe I live in some parallel universe and I just don't understand what is happening in your universe. -
Multicast Issues following R2 Upgrade - MCSIsapi failed Health Check
Hi all,
I am having yet more issues with multicasting following upgrading to SCCM 2012 R2. (running on Server 2008 R2).
I have tried several times now:
unticking all images marked for multicast
unticking all DPs from enable multicast
waiting for WDS to be removed
reboot
enable DP for multicast
wait for WDS to be installed
reboot
enable image for multicast
But when I run my task sequence the smsts.log does not recognise that I have a multicast enabled DP and begins to download via unicast.
extract from smsts.log:
<![LOG[Locations: Multicast = 0, HTTP = 1, SMB = 0.]LOG]!><time="10:13:18.066-60" date="07-08-2014" component="ApplyOperatingSystem" context="" type="1" thread="1244" file="resolvesource.cpp:2749">
On the server WDS is installed, running and looks healthy.
All the multicast logs look healthy apart from MCSIsapi.log which states:
Failed to perform health check (0x80004005)
HealthCheckRequest::HandleMessage failed with errorcode (0x80004005)
Failed to process HEALTHCHECK request for client ffffffff-ffff-ffff-ffff-ffffffffffff
MCSRequestHandler::HandleMessage for Op HEALTHCHECK failed with server errorcode 2052
I have all the MCS keys in the registry. SerializedMCSKey and SignedSerializedMCSKey are both populated.
Can anyone shed any light on how to overcome this issue?
Many thanks,
JayHi,

"MCS had an error itself. If you look under the hklm/software/microsoft/syswow64/sms/mcs key you should have a long list of keys. I just had 3 one of which was empty
I had to do this to fix it
unchecked Allow this package to transfered via multicast at package/image properties
cleared SerializedMCSKey and SignedSerializedMCSKey in registry (HKLM\Software\SMS\MCS)
unchecked enable multicast at dp properties
checked enable multicast at dp properties
checked Allow this package to transfered via multicast at package/image properties
checked transfer this package only via multicast
Just running the mcs.msi or redeploying the DP doesnt work

Hi All,
I am working in a support Project on PI 7.1
As per the project, we need to perform health checks 4 times per day. I want to automate this activity to reduce our time & effort.
T-codes using for Health check: smq1,smq2,sm58,sm59,sm50,db12,db16,db02, SXI_cache, sldcheck, swwl, swpr, sxmb_ifr & java stack compoents.
Can anyone suggest/provide the solution for this?
Regards,
Sateesh.Hi Sateesh
Use CCMS Heartbeat Monitoring using GRMG customising.
Generic Request and Message Generator (GRMG) can be used for technical monitoring and for application monitoring for Abap & Java Components.
See below link.

The Oracle Performance and Tuning class is very good at least
when I took it around 2 years ago.
Oracle Performance Tuning by Mark Curry and Peter Corrigan is
good but is probably too deep for someone new in Oracle. (It's
too deep for me most of the time since I've worked with Oracle
for 2.5 years now)
I could also send you a paper that gives a fairly good
explanation on use of V$SESSION_WAIT, V$SESSION_EVENT, and
V$SYSTEM_WAIT. V$SESSION_WAIT tells you what application is
wating and what is the event wait occuring.
Let me know if you want it. -
Database Performance Evaluation Benchmarking Tuning
Does anyone by chance have any articles or websites that deal with Oracle (or generic) database performance evaluation, benchmarking, and/or tuning for a STANDALONE PC database installation? I have Oracle 10g installed on my personal machine and I want to find some information that will help me place the performance evaluation into a more professinal context. Any links relating to this would be very appreciated.
regards,
JohnWhy do you expect there to be a difference in evaluating performance for a standalone PC database installation vs. a server database installation? Other than the fact that, presumably, you won't find network events in the top wait events, I'm hard-pressed to think of any differences.
You would evaluate performance and tune the system the same way on a standalone database as on a database on a server box-- you would figure out what operations are important, figure out how quickly those operations need to run, figure out which of the important operations are running slowly, figure out what those operations are spending time doing, and then figure out how to reduce the runtime. Of course, each of those steps can potentially be rather involved. There are plenty of articles and books on performance tuning-- Oracle has a few manuals, Jonathan Lewis's book on the cost based optimizer is excellent, Cary Millsap's optimization book is top flight, etc.
As for benchmarking, unless the intention is to run something like the TPC benchmark on your desktop, which would seem odd, your benchmark is generally closely tied to your application-- i.e. figuring out how quickly the system performs a particular business operation. Generic benchmarks like TPC tend not to be particularly useful in the real world because they are unlikely to mimic your real workload.

How to execute ATP check and update schedule lines for existing sales order
Hello all,
After stock quantity has been updated, wed like to perform ATP check and update schedule lines for sales documents which have not been delivered yet.
Is BAPI_SALESDOCUMENT_CHANGE useful to do so?
If so which fields should I set X?
At the moment, I called BATCH INPUT and execute ATP check.
But I'm wondering if this is not a smart way.
Thank you
YukoHi arnab
one way of achieving your requirements is
after creating the sales order you can execute the SALEs order MRP using MD50 transaction enter the order # and MRP control parameters 1,3,1,2. and execute.
Ensure the following before MRP.
1. All the master data are maintained for the schedule line creation for the components ( Source list, Scheduling agreements)
2. Material master with valid MRP data.strategy group having MTO strategy.
after sales order MRP you will get the schedule line created for the components
also MRp will create the cpacity requirements as we run the MRP with Lead time scheduling.
Hope this helps

i used the bt desktop pc health check and it told me that my system does not have a proper firewalll application installed. but when i checked my security centre kaspersky 2010 it said the firewall was ok. has anyone had this problem
Bt is probably either trying to get you to use some firewall they have (unlikely)
Or it just detects that you're windows firewall isn't on (likely)
If the latter is correct, you're fine anyways because both those programs have good firewalls, don't worry about it, but if you really do worry just do a Virus check every fortnight. -
