Database to xml mapping from oracle via xmlspy
Several months back I requested advic about mapping database content to xml files - A couple of people indicated they didn't understand what I was asking for - Xmlspy has a new product - MAPFORCE 2004 - which is designed to do this kind of mapping

Thanks
Hi,
I had somewhat a similar problem.
Did you use oracle.xdb.XMLType.getDOM()?
getDOM() needs xmlparserv2.jar, which only provides a DOM implementation that is DOM 1.0 and Core 2.0 compliant.
In my case, when I used DOM 3.0 methods in org.w3c.dom, I ran into the "method not found" type of error.
My solution was to use the DocumentBuilder that comes with the JDK to create the DOM instance in the code.

Edited by: user3523292 on Nov 14, 2008 5:43 AMThis is a forum of volunteers. There is no "urgent" here. Nevertheless, a google search of 'xml oracle export' quickly lead me to this Oracle site:
otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/xml/index.html
I also see lots of hits when I search the documentation library at tahiti.oracle.com for 'xml'. This one in particular may be what you are looking for:

Create XML file from Oracle DB
Hi,
I'm working in a task to create electronic billing for Mexico Rules, to do this; I need to create a XML source that will contain all the information requested from Oracle DB.
For this reason, I'm looking how to create this XML file from Oracle DB.
All this is for the new legislations rules in Mexico to use electronic billing.
Please, if you have any reference about this, let me know.
Thanks and regards.you may want to check out commands like xmlforest and xmlelement
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/functions221.htm
copied from documentation
Purpose
XMLForest converts each of its argument parameters to XML, and then returns an XML fragment that is the concatenation of these converted arguments.
•If value_expr is a scalar expression, then you can omit the AS clause, and Oracle Database uses the column name as the element name.
•If value_expr is an object type or collection, then the AS clause is mandatory, and Oracle uses the specified c_alias as the enclosing tag. The c_alias can be up to 4000 characters.
•If value_expr is null, then no element is created for that value_expr.
Examples
The following example creates an Emp element for a subset of employees, with nested employee_id, last_name, and salary elements as the contents of Emp:
SELECT XMLELEMENT("Emp",
XMLFOREST(e.employee_id, e.last_name, e.salary))
"Emp Element"
FROM employees e WHERE employee_id = 204;
Emp Element
<Emp>
<EMPLOYEE_ID>204</EMPLOYEE_ID>
<LAST_NAME>Baer</LAST_NAME>
<SALARY>10000</SALARY>
</Emp> -

Calling Java Script to open a Map (Like Google Map) from Oracle Forms 10g
Hello,
We are on Oracle EBS rel 12, Forms 10g. We have a requirement of calling a Custom Map application (Like Google Maps) from Oracle Forms 10g.
When the user enters the address like town, city, country etc and clicks on a button there should be a call to this Google Map like application which will pass the co-ordinates (Latittude, Longitude) to the map and shows the place on it. If the user selects a different location on this maps and closes the window the parameters co-ordinates (Latittude, Longitude) should be back in the calling form and this new location should replace the original location.
I appreciate if I can get some help for the above requirements.
Thank you.
GMThank you for your reply. I was reading on the metalink that we could use the to call the java script from oracle Forms 10g (Doc ID 265863.1)
Example:
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('javascript:void(window.open("http://www.oracle.com","","location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,status=no,"));self.close()','_blank');
I tried it but it did not open the any window as it claims. Am I missing anything? Is there any IE related setting which I need to modify for the above to work?

How to run an XML Report from Oracle Forms 10G
Hello Friends,
I am in need of showing a xml report output through a button press trigger in Oracle Forms10G.
I have designed the report in XML Publisher and the report looks fine.I found few scripts useful in running the Oracle Report from Oracle forms10G like Run_Report_Object.But I am not aware of any script that could run a XML report and show the output directly from a Form.
All I want is to run a XML report from an Oracle Form with a button press trigger and show the output in an html version.
Can this be achieved?
If so, Kindly advise as this is an immediate work.
Regards,
Badrul.Hi,
If I am not wrong the XML publisher is same as BI publisher ...
There is one document which explains how to integrate using web service
You want to check this
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/Forms_BIP_v22.pdf
or you can also try web.show_document .. -

Getting XML result from Oracle request
We have Oracle 8i Entreprise Edition and We like to get XML result from an Oracle request. Can I use only Oracle 8i Entreprise Edition product or should i use another oracle product to do this job ?
Thank youDownload our XSQL Pages technology with the XSQL Servlet and you'll be in business in no time. If you want to just get XML programmatically from SQL in your own programs, you can try the XML SQL Utility (which XSQL Pages makes use of under the covers). XSQL Pages comes with lots of demos and a tutorial.

XML-Document from Internet via HTML-Control?
Hi everybody,
I would like to access an XML-document from the internet via a HTML-Control and save it in an ABAP XSTRING-Type so i can use the "call Transformation" in order to save it in an ABAP-Table. Is that possible?? or I have to use XI to access such XML-documents.
Thanks
IhssanHello Mr Raja,
your answer was helpful. There is no problem by accessing XML data from 'http://'-address. But if i try to access the xml data from 'https://'-address it doesn't work. Of course i used a https sheme type.
Is there problems by getting data from https??
thanks in advance
Ihssan
