Database to XML with XSD (XML schema)

I have an Oracle 9 DB.
I need to convert data from a table (Java ResultSet) to XML (I have an XML schema file).
How can I do?
Is there a tool?
Thanks, Ludo.

  • Error validating xml with xsd schema on JSDK 1.4

    Hi All,
    Asked to me do it a Web Service client in Java and validate its xml answer with an xsd file using 1.4 plataform.
    I googled and I saw many samples to 1.5 plataform, and few samples to 1.4, but anyway I tried to do what they asked to me.
    I got connect with service, got the response and so I went to validate that xml with an xsd file.
    But I got an error on that task. The error occurs in the following line

  • Problem validating XML with XSD

    Hi everyone. I have an xsd schema and I want to validate some XML doc with the schema using SAX parser.
    The user make the xml and then upload it to the server.
    I want to enable client side validation but, for security reasons, I want also to validate this document when it's uploaded to the server.
    The schema called ContentSchema.xsd
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
         targetNamespace="www.mysite.com/Content" xmlns="www.mysite.com/Content">
         <xs:element name="content">
              <xs:complexType>
    A document produced by the client starts in this way:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <p:content xmlns:p="www.mysite.com/Content" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation="www.mysite.com/Content ContentSchema.xsd">
    in this way users can validate the XML doc before uploading. If the XSD is in the same folder of the uploaded XML the validation is ok.
    The problem is that, on the server, I've stored the xsd file in a folder and I want the SAX parser to use this xsd to validate the XML. Even I pass the complete URI of the file to the parser, it won't work:
    SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
              spf.setValidating(true);
              spf.setNamespaceAware(true);
              spf.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema",true);
              spf.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema-full-checking", true);
              SAXParser sp=spf.newSAXParser();
              sp.setProperty("http://apache.org/xml/properties/schema/external-schemaLocation", schemaURL );
    I set the schemURL with setProperty method but it's like the parser is looking for the XSD in the URL declared in the XML doc and not in the URI I specify. Anyone can help me?
    Thank you very much

    You will have to associate the schema with the namespace, like in your xsi:schemaLocation attribute.
    Try something like this:
    sp.setProperty("http://apache.org/xml/properties/schema/external-schemaLocation", "www.mysite.com/Content "+schemaURL);

  • Validate XML with XSD Puntuaction Marks

    Hello all,
    I am trying to validate a XML document against a registered XML schema. The XML document contains punctuation marks (like ã, ç, õ) which cause the validation to fail. How to overcome this?
    I suspect of the encoding format the XSD and XML documents are using, encoding=UTF-8, right?
    Thank you,
    Pedro.

    Ok... just needed to change the enconding attribute of the XML document to the value of the parameter NLS_CHARACTERSET of my database.

  • Validate XML using XSD (XML Schema)

    Hi experts.
    Is there any way in ABAP to validate XML file against specified XSD file?
    I found only possibility to validate against DTD, but no XSD. As far as I know this is only possible in Java, or is a part of XI. Is it doable without Java or XI (on NetWeaver 2004s)?

  • Database design - Better approach than XML/ XSD

    Hi, I am designing web based application. The scenario I am working on is - I have around 50+ odd objects. They have few common things but other fields will change (Say e.g. Employee / Customers/ Assets, etc). We are also providing a facility where
    in customer can add / rename / delete table column from UI. We are planning to use XML with XSD/ XQuery and storing all objects in 1 table only to accommodate dynamic schema issue. But it has performance impact. Is there any other better way to handle this
    situation?

    Basically, it really depends on what you are doing with the data. XML isn't so bad when you are just attaching some data onto an object, but when you need to use it in queries on a lot of rows, it just seems really cumbersome.
    My favorite way is to just add columns to the table, probably using sparse columns. That gives you column level access like normal (including indexes and constraints), and an XML schema method to put data in using XML style access.
    Entity Attribute Value (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entity-attribute-value_model) style works pretty well too. Basically you store the key of an object, the name of an attribute, and
    the value (and perhaps the name of the entity, but ideally I would suggest one table per object you are extending.) It is more cumbersome to query, but works really naturally for front end tools.
    However... One thing I think I hear from your requirements is that you are shooting to have 1 table. I would strongly suggest against that approach using SQL Server. SQL Server's primary strength is as a relational engine. Sure, it is more work to need to
    adjust your schema when requirements change, but if you can get the base schema down, having these flexible elements to the implementation are not so damaging to performance.
    For example, say you are building a database of students. Students, teachers, classrooms, subjects, etc, all are pretty much known. But there are a lot of attributes that may be different between usages, so adding a flexible element is very useful for the
    end users. If you really want a tool with a flexible back end (something I am very much against unless you keep the rowcount low), look at how ORM tools create their data storage using tables. SQL Server itself is really and truly a flexible data storage platform.
    Using CREATE TABLE, ALTER TABLE, etc, you can fashion almost any structures on the fly...
    Louis
    Without good requirements, my advice is only guesses. Please don't hold it against me if my answer answers my interpretation of your questions.

    Currently I´m trying to find out some on SAP but nothing at this moment.
    The company that I´m working needs to implement "Factura Electonica" also.
    Probably we will use external broker to do this for us, and we will send just Idoc to the broker.
    Please, let me know your progress on SAP side.
    Regards, Fabio

  • How best to sync xml with db changes?

    What is the best way to have changes to the db schema reflected
    to the <connection>.xml?
    Does this information have to be updated manually?
    null

    Not automatic is probably good BUT will there be some
    method/utility/wizard to sync the XML with a changed schema?
    Maybe a diff like editor?
    Or are you saying that, after initial generation, all changes to
    the database schema will require those changes be propogated to
    the XML files by hand?
    Having to propogate all changes by hand sounds like a maintenance
    nightmare. It also sound like it would require the JDeveloper
    programmer to be knowledgeable of and duplicating the efforts of
    the DBA's.

  • Catch all error information while validating xml content with xsd schema

    Hi experts,
    I created a java mapping to validating the input xml content with xsd schema (schema validation). What I want is to catch all error message to the xml not just the first error. I used SAXParser in sapxmltoolkit.jar to do the schema validation. The below is a part of my java mapping.
    XMLReader parser = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader("com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.SAXParser");
    parser.setFeature( "http://xml.org/sax/features/validation" ,  true);
    parser.setFeature( "http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema" , true);
    parser.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");          parser.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource",this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(schema)); // schema is my schema name
    parser.setErrorHandler(new ParseErrorHandler()); // ParseErrorHandler is my own ErrorHandler which extends DefaultHandler
    parser.parse(new InputSource(new ByteArrayInputStream(sinput.getBytes())));
    // In error handler, I comment all code so as not to throw any exception
    public class ParseErrorHandler extends DefaultHandler
         public void error(SAXParseException e) throws SAXException
              // sSystem.out.println("Error" + e.getMessage());
              // throw e;
         public void fatalError(SAXParseException e)
              // throw e;
              // System.out.println("SAP Fatal Error" + e.getMessage());
    Unfortunately the program always stopped while catching the first error. Check the below log.
