Database version 2.3.10 Corruption after query during insert.

I am using DBXML Version 2.3.10. We recently discovered a problem when querying DBXML while inserting (concurrent). Below are the events that occur. I am in the process of getting more details, but I wanted post this in an effort to see what areas I need to concentrate on.
1. Begin inserting XML docs into DBXML. This process also used our unique ID to add a row into Berkeley DB. The insert rate is quite fast. We are real happy with this. We don't see any problems before we query.
2. We submit a query in another thread, as insertion continues. Some time after, we get an exception (FILE_NOTFOUND). However, insertion still seems to be ok, as well as query.
3. At some point thereafter when we run another query, we will encounter an uncaught C++ exception:
Uncaught exception from C++ API
com.sleepycat.dbxml.XmlException: Uncaught exception from C++ API, errcode = INTERNAL_ERROR at com.sleepycat.dbxml.dbxml_javaJNI.XmlContainer.putDocument__SWIG_2(Native Method) at com.sleepycat.dbxml.XmlContainer.putDocument XmlContainer.java:373)
From this point forward, insert fails as well as query. If I try to run a lookupindex()query the database in DBXML Shell, I get DB_PAGE_NOT_FOUND exception. The database is essentially corrupt. This data was collected at a test excercise, and I am desperately trying to recover the data.
If I back off to version 2.2.13, there are no problems. From some other threads of the forum, I noted increasing cache and locks might be helpful. Here are the current settings from the DB_CONFIG file:
set_cachesize 0 250000000 1
set_lk_max_lockers 100000
set_lk_max_locks 100000
set_lk_max_objects 100000
If anyone can offer any other suggestion, we would greatly appreciate it. Version 2.3.10 offers query interrupt/timeout, as well as excellent insert and query performance. We really cannot afford to back off to 2.2.13.
Anthony

Hi Anthony,
I get execeptions such as "configured environment flags incompatible with >existing environment"The error message above suggests an old environment existed prior to your creating the new one (for the Concurrent Data Store). You may want to remove/rename your config flags and just start out with the minimum flags to configure CDS. If there are old environment files delete/remove them (__db.00#).
EnvironmentConfig ec = new EnvironmentConfig
ec.setInitializeCDB(true);
ec.setAllowCreate(true);
ec.setInitializeCache(true);
You don't want to set flags that deal with transactions or the transactional lock system. Therefore do not call setInitializeLocking for example.
For Berkeley DB XML, it is recommeded that you turn on the lockAllDatabases flag:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/java/com/sleepycat/db/EnvironmentConfig.html#setCDBLockAllDatabases(boolean)

  • Des6/headstart212: saving changes not asked when enter query during insert

    Hi,
We are still on the old version for designer 6, but we have a strange problem.
We have several forms, when updating or inserting, and then closing the window, there is the question: do you want to commit the changes?
    That's the normal behaviour.
But now, we just found out, that there are also forms, when working in them, and then closing the window or pressing F7, that the question isn't raised, enter-qry mode is started and the end user then has lost his changes.
We tried to track down qmslib50 and qmsevh50 for a form with problem and one without, but except for an key-enterqry which sometimes is generated (with standard code) and sometimes not we haven't been able yet to tackle it.
Is this perhaps a "known" problem of headstart 2.1.2 upgraded for des6., or has anyone an idea where we have to look for it?
The query property is on both forms set to yes.
    Thanks...
    Jessica

    return(missed_text);
    End;
Note:- Text column from table msgnotes is of datatype CLOB.
I have executed report having this function before oracle upgrade and it works fine.
But when i am trying to execute report after oracle version upgrade from 11.2.0.3.0 to 11.2.0.4.0 with same data report fails with runtime error Rep-1401: '' Fatal PL/SQL Error.
With New version we tried to typecast Text column from clob to varchar and executed report then it works... but report runs on old version without any explicit typecasting.
Please note when i run and call this funtion from sql developer with upgraded database version it works fine.
    Please advise.

This error can possibly depend on the fact that the PL/SQL engines are in different versions. When using SQL Developer you use the PL/SQL engine in the database. When using Oracle Reports you use the PL/SQL engine in the Oracle Reports Server (Web Logic Server even maybe). These versions - in the Forms and Reports realm - are different (read: a lower version) than the PL/SQL engine in the database.
If I check what version I have in Oracle Forms, as an example, I get 11.1.0.7.0 (Help in the Oracle Forms Builder menu) but in the database I have (select * from product_component_version;) 11.2.0.3.0.
That COULD be your issue...how to fix it I am not sure...

  • The password file is getting corrupted after rebooting the standby database

    Hi,
The password file is getting corrupted after rebooting the standby database.
Since the databases are not in sync, I had to copy the pwfile from primary to standby to make 'em sync.
(BUT.... the pwfile is not getting corrupted every time I reboot the standby by)
Could somebody please explain the reason for the pwfile on the standby database getting corrupted while rebooting ?
Env: Oracle 11g on Windows 7
    Thanks in advance

    Moderator Action:
This thread was originally posted to the Oracle/Sun Servers HARDWARE forum.
This is definitely not an issue related to any hardware components.

  • Dump from Version 8.1.7.4 into database Version 9.2

    Hi,
is ist possible to import a dump from 8.1.7.4 into a database version 9.2 ?
there seems to be a problem by importing a procedure contains a function like DBMS_STATS.SET_COLUMN_STATS from the version 8.1.7.4. When i delete one parameter
it works from sqlplus worksheet. But it is not possible to delete all the parameters in the dumpfile because when i import the dumpfile after all changes it doesn't work because the dumpfile seems to be corrupt
many thanks for an answer !

Specify ANALYZE = N or RECALCULATE_STATISTICS = Y on import command line to disable the import of statistics in the export dump file.
To avoid the problem already when making the export you may use the STATISTICS = N export parameter.

  • Sudden hotsync "device database version is incompatible" error

I have a Sprint Treo 755p with software version 1.07. Desktop is 4.1.4.
Hotsync has been working fine for 6 months. Suddenly yesterday I started getting "The device database version is incompatible with this conduit. Doing nothing" in my hotsync log (see below for log result) . Contacts are synchronizing, memos have disappeared, and calendar is not synchronizing. After attempting to synchronize the 755p soft resets. It also soft resets when I do a string search and while it is searching the calendar. This may have all started yesterday when I sent a text message. The message went then the phone froze. I haven't had any freeze-ups with this phone so I was surprised. I popped the battery, but after restart my text message history was gone.
Did something get corrupted? I'd appreciate any advice.

Never mind. I deleted the following files Memodb and MemoDB-Pmem, hot sync'd and now I am able to get Memos to open.  Guess I had something in the database that didn't jive.

  • Report takes long time in different database version

    Dear Mates,
I have been in serious problem from last one month. Still i don't get any solution. Come to the problem.
I have a program where, database version is *9i R2*. Here one report are base on a database function and works perfectly. It takes 30/35 seconds to preview.
I take this schema backup by EXP command and import it to database version XE and also database version *10G R2* with IMP command. import is successful. Others report still preview as it is at 9i. But my mentioned reports didn't come as same. Now it takes 3 Hrs. :(.
I run explain plan and the out put is bellow. What should i do now ? If you want to check the query i can also post it. If any one have experience regarding this, please help me.

  • How can i check if a procedure exists in a certain database version

So today i became really frustrated after noticing that the Oracle SQL version on some computer I needed to work on was 10.1. The problem with that was that I needed a procedure called "xmlserialize". I browsed the documentation for it, but I didn't see anything like "since 11.0" or something similar.
So.. how can I see what is the first Oracle SQL version that supported some procedure?
For example, when I check a class definition for Java, I consult the javadoc :
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/math/BigInteger.html
and there there's a field called "Since". For BigInteger ( it's just an example ), it says "Since: JDK1.1", so I know that if I'm using a JDK version earlier that 1.1, I won't have that class.
Is there some similar information for Oracle procedures/ functions/ features/ etc?

    >
Let me be more explicit. I've searched for xmlserialize function.
The only place on the website that holds information regarding this function is this page:
    >
To paraphrase sybrand - that's utter nonsense. I have never found only one reference to anything on the web.
    Your question subject is

Would you like to guess what you find if you search for xmlserialize?
Right on the very first page is this

    SQL/XML Standard Compliance (SQL:2005 Standard Part 14)
Support for the developing SQL/XML standard has been extended. The following SQL functions have been added: XMLPI, XMLComment, XMLRoot, XMLSerialize, XMLCDATA, and XMLParse. Escaping of identifiers has also been updated, in accordance with a change to the SQL/XML standard. See "Generating XML Using SQL Functions".

  • Linux VM KVP IP can't be shown on Hyper-V Manager after querying its KVP/IP information on Hyper-V host several times

    Hello
[Sorry for asking the same question in the wrong place/forum of "Hyper-V"]
I am using a CentOS 6.5 VM (Linux kernel 2.6.32-431) and (generation 2) CentOS 7 VM (Linux
kernel 3.10.0-123) with Hyper-V KVP daemon installed,
and I periodically query its IP (via using WMI or Powershell to query its KVP information) to manage it.
However, after querying its IP (KVP) for several times, its IP can’t
be queried or shown on Hyper-V Manager anymore (Windows VM is ok without this problem).
And here is the vmIntegrationService status of my CentOS 7 VM for the references.
    PS C:\Users\Administrator> (Get-VM -name G2_CentOS7).vmIntegrationService
    VMName     Name                    Enabled PrimaryStatusDescription SecondaryStatusDescription
    G2_CentOS7 Time Synchronization    True    OK
    G2_CentOS7 Heartbeat               True    OK
G2_CentOS7 Key-Value Pair Exchange True    OK                       The protocol version of the component installed ...
    G2_CentOS7 Shutdown                True    OK
    G2_CentOS7 VSS                     True    No Contact
G2_CentOS7 Guest Service Interface False   OK
I attached a simple KVP query Powershell script as
the follows, and this problem can be reproduced in couple minutes if you run two instances with this script at the same time.
    $VMName = $args[0]
    write-host "$VMName"
    filter Import-CimXml
    $CimXml = [Xml]$_
    $CimObj = New-Object -TypeName System.Object
    foreach ($CimProperty in $CimXml.SelectNodes("/INSTANCE/PROPERTY"))
if ($CimProperty.Name -eq "Name" -or $CimProperty.Name -eq "Data")
    $CimObj | Add-Member -MemberType NoteProperty -Name $CimProperty.NAME -Value $CimProperty.VALUE
    $CimObj
    $CimObj = $null
    for ($i=1 ; $i -le 10000 ; $i++) {
    $a = Get-Date
    write-host "$i - Time: " $a.ToLocalTime()
    $vm = Get-WmiObject -Namespace root\virtualization\v2 -Query "Select * From Msvm_ComputerSystem Where ElementName='$VMName'"
    $vm.ElementName
    $vmkvp = Get-WmiObject -Namespace root\virtualization\v2 -Query "Associators of {$vm} Where AssocClass=Msvm_SystemDevice ResultClass=Msvm_KvpExchangeComponent"
    $vmkvp.GuestIntrinsicExchangeItems | Import-CimXml
Actually, if your CentOS VM (has LIS) installed with KVP daemon running well,
my test script will show more than 4 keys (include NetworkAddressIPv4 or NetworkAddressIPv6 keys).
However, while the KVP daemon becomes problematic, it will only show a few keys
(ex. 4~6 keys) and at this moment, Hyper-V Manager also can't show IP address of it anymore and you may need to reboot the CentOS VM to recover it.
For example (KVP in 252 time is good, but KVP in 253 and 254 times become problematic)

    I
found the following patches and gave them a try, but the
problem still remains after applying these patches and the (generation 2) Ubuntu 14.04 with Linux kernel 3.13 also has this problem.
     - Patch "Drivers:
hv: util: Fix a bug in the KVP code" has been added to the 3.14-stable tree
     - Drivers: hv: vmbus: Fix a bug in the channel callback dispatch code
But (generation 1) Ubuntu 14.04 VM with Linux kernel 3.17 doesn't encounter this problem after querying its KVP/IP information on Hyper-V host several times.
Does anyone know what changes between Linux kernel 3.13 and 3.17 fix this issue?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Dexuan and Mike,
    Thanks for your help!
I did the patch with rpmbuild on CentOS 6.5 (with kernel 2.6.32-431).
However, the second patch cannot patch on CentOS6.5 since there is no target_cpu in such version.
So we are patching that with the following similar patch but this issue still occurs. (also replace ko in initrd)
    https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2014-August/047725.html
Can you tell me if any patch I could miss or any suggestion?
    Thanks for your time.

  • E4500 firmware corrupt after power outage

Latest firmware with CCC corrupted after power outage. I reseet the e4500 several times and tried to reload the firmware and still no good. Only way I got it back up is to install the older non-CCC version 2.37. Strange all was fine until the power outage. Not sure if I should even bother to upgrade to 2.38 again.

Yes, power outages may caused some damage either on the hardware or software of the any device especially if there's some activity going on inside the device the time of the interruption. If everything is fine with the old version then there's really no need to update it but if you've noticed some issues, better upgrade to the newer version so to fix any problems.

    Hi Jan,
For the error "The product version and database version are not compatible", as Emma said, the version number of the Service does not match the database schema version.
In your scenario, which version of database are you using? Please note that MDS update required after SQL 2012 SP1 installation, please refer to the links below to see the details.

  • Incorrect database version in CHECK-OS-DB-VERSION

We are performing an upgrade to NetWeaver 7.3 on a Java-only stack that is running Portal components.
We have started at NetWeaver 7.0 EhP1, on LINUX RH-EL 5 and ORACLE 11.2.0.1. We got stuck on the database check. The system reported that our database version was too low. Since the installation is distributed with the ORACLE 11.2.0.2 kit and since we had planned to upgrade ORACLE anyway, I upgraded ORACLE at this point to 11.2.0.2.
We are still getting the message the database version is too low when the installation performs the OSDB check:
    The log from /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/sdt/log/SUM/CHECK-OS-DB-VERSION_nn.LOG shows:

The log is reporting our ORACLE version as ORA 11.1.0.0.0. We never installed that version directly. When we upgraded to ORACLE 11, we went from ORACLE 10.2.0.4 directly to ORACLE 11.2.0.1.
Does anyone know where the system getting this information on the ORACLE version and how can we correct that information to reflect the true installed version of ORACLE?
    Thank-you,
    Deb Nugent.

After I confirmed that my ORACLE database was at 11.2.0.2 and my ORACLE client was installed at the higher version (per previously helpful suggestions here), I restarted the installation. I am still getting the same error in the installation screens nad the same issue seen in the logs - the installation is convinced that the ORACLE version is 11.0.
When I started the upgrade to NetWeaver 7.3, I was already at 11.2.0.1 for ORACLE. The ORACLE client was a flavor of 10 since that was the only compatible version when we upgraded ORACLE to 11.2. The installation should have seen the correct ORACLE version from the beginning and allowed me to continue.
I will try to restart the upgrade from the beginning. I am not certain this will change anything as I started with the correct version of ORACLE but I will try.

  • Error in Database 10G 10.2.0.3 after integration of SOA(10.1.3.1.0) & OID

    hi',
I am facing issue with database after integrating OID with BPEL,
below are the products and the versions:
1.) Oracle 10G database version (10.2.0.1) patched it to version (10.2.0.3)
    2.) SOA suite version (10.1.3.1.0)
3.) Oracle Access Manager version (10.1.4.0.1)
4.) Oracle Identity Manager version (10.1.4.0.1)
the issue is as soon as I integrate OID with BPEL and restart the system the database will start throwing all sort of errors.
like "TNSListener.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"
In the services if I try to start sql plus then "isqlplussvc has encountered a problem need to close "
My question is are these stabe versions for doing the integration, if no then please tell me what version to use.
    thanks
    Yatan

I am able to resolve the issue:
The mistake I was doing was creating ORACLE_HOME in the enviornment variable, as I have Oracle 10 G database and SOA suite on the same machine, so it was creating a clash, the right approach is setting the ORACLE_HOME through command prompt, I was setting ORACLE_HOME because while executing the configure_oid.bat file it requires ORACLE_HOME to be set.
