Datagrid column calculate totals

Hi - hope someone can help with this datagrid issue - I think
it's just a small bit of code I've got to tweak. Might be some
useful information to someone here anyway.
I've got a datagrid populated by info from mysql via amfphp.
I've managed to create a column that multiplies the qty and
price fields:
root.dgCart.addColumn(column2);
var column2 = new DataGridColumn();
column2.headerText = "sum";
column2.labelFunction = customLabelFunction2;
column2.columnName = 'sum';
function customLabelFunction2(item:Object):Number {
// if (item == undefined) return undefined;
var sumtotal = round2D(Number(item.item_price) *
Number(item.qty));
return sumtotal;
//helps to make decimals
function round2D (nr){
var tmp = String(nr)
var pos = tmp.substr(tmp.indexOf(".")+1)
if(tmp.indexOf(".")==-1) return nr+".00" //no decimals
else if(pos.length==1) return nr+"0" //1 decimal
else return Math.round (Number(nr) * 100) / 100 //2 or more
Now I'd like to get a total of all the items in the 'sum'
column - the following code works to add up the 'price' column but
the same approach doesn't seem to work for the 'sum' column -
perhaps because the figures are generated by a function?
function getTotal(){
var totalPrice = 0;
for(var i=0; i<root.dgCart.length; i++) totalPrice +=
Number(root.dgCart.getItemAt(i).item_price)
root.txttotal.htmlText = "<b>Total:</b> "+
round2D(totalPrice);
If anyone here could shed the light, I'd be sooooo
greatful!

I guess one way to do it would be to calculate the total from
your webservice (I am guessing you're using php to generate an xml
file) and then pass that to your flex project using the http
service.
or you could simply write a script for it within your
project.

    I would like to calculate table size and particular clob column size inside that table. The size of the table and the size of the LOB are two totally different things.
    Barring cases where the LOB is less than 4k and stored inline, the LOB data is stored outside the table in a separate segment.
    If you want to get the combined size of the table and of its LOB segments, you could do something like
    SELECT SUM(bytes)/1024/1024 gb
      FROM dba_segments
    WHERE (owner = <<table owner>> and
           segment_name = <<table name>>)

  • Datagrid column header word wrap issue

    Hi All,
    I'm passing dynamic text to a datagrid column header. The word wrap is true but it's not working.
    Any ideas how to fix this issue?
    DataGridColumn headerText="{myVar.text} Total" headerWordWrap="true"

    @Johnny,
    Try to make use of the headerRenderer property and use <mx:Text /> control as a renderer so that your headerText gets wrapped..

  • If myText.text == any value in a datagrid column

    Hey guys, in a simple form, I am trying to achieve what's in my title.
    I have a text box in which you type in a value (number).
    I have a submit button which inserts the value into my data-grid which  is populated by a data provider to display that information (ZendAMF).
    For my submit button function I need it to loop through all the  values(rows) in a column (my dataprovider) of my data-grid to check if my text box value  is equal to any of the data in the rows for that column.
    I found a function on another forum that should help me achieve this but I still cannot get it to work as I don't think I'm using the function correctly. Note the function is called "findItem()"
    Here is my example code:
    //I have a datagrid
    <mx:DataGrid id="myDataGrid"  dataProvider="amfcall.getData.lastResult}">
             <mx:columns>
                <mx:DataGridColumn  headerText="MyHeading" dataField="myDataField"/>
             </mx:columns>
    </mx:DataGrid>
    //I  have a form for adding data into the datagrid
    <mx:Form  id="addData">
        <mx:FormItem>
            <mx:TextInput  id="myText"/>
        </mx:FormItem>
    </mx:Form>
    //I  have a button to submit the form data by calling a function
    <mx:Button  label="Add" id="addData" click="findItem()"/>
    //I  have the function to find any item in the datagrid column that is equal  to the text input in the form. This is what I can't code correctly.
    public  function findItem(myDataGrid.dataProvider, myDataField:String,  myText.text):Boolean
         for each(var item:Object in  myDataGrid.dataProvider)
              if(item[myDataField] == myText.text)
                return  true;
         return false;
    So I don't think I'm correctly typing the first line of the 'findItem' function as I'm currently receiving [I]1084: Syntax error: expecting rightparen before dot.[/I] for this line [I]public function findItem(myDataGrid.dataProvider, myDataField:String, myText.text):Boolean [/I]
    Also, the error does not change if I strict type those things to ':Object' etc.
    I may just be using the function totally wrong, can anyone hlpe me out?

    Hard to tell what’s going on from the information you are providing; but just looking at the first line of your sample code:
    Have you checked in the debugger to see what your dataProvider looks like?
    You want a resultHandler to set some kind of list – let’s say a previously declared AC, which then becomes your dataProvider for the DataGrid. Something like:
    private function amfCallResultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void{
          Var someVar:ArrayCollection = event.result as ArrayCollection;
          blah blah blah;
          myDataProvider = someVar;

  • Calculate total while designing query

    Hi All,
    I have a keyfigure purchase value . I am taking it in one column.
    Now I want to calculate total of purchase value for particular month.
    I can restrict time characteristic with variable but m not getting how to calculate total of this keyfigure.
    Please advise.
    Regards
    Shweta Goel

    what type of calculations?
    when you restrict a query by month you get the total in the result.
    if you want to use the purchase value for a month in a calculation, remove dates or order number from the query, have a aggregated result on which you can do the calculation and users can drill down if they need to see detail.

  • Need help adding image to datagrid column

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me how to add an image to a datagrid column?
    I have created a flex library project which contains a mxml component with a datagrid, an item renderer mxml component which rendered the image within the datagrid column depending on the value coming back from the database for that column and a folder 'assets' which hold all the images. When I add the library to my main project and call the mxml component with the datagrid an image place holder is visible in the datagrid column but not the image. However, if I take the image out of the library project and added to an 'assets' folder in the main project the image is displayed in the datagrid column.
    It looks like, even though the images are in the flex library project and only the flex library project is trying to display the images in the datagrid, the library project is looking in the main application project folder for the image.
    Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance for an help,
    Xander.

    I have tried embedding the images in my library but it still didn't work. Also I can't embed the image as I'm using the value of the column to complete the image name, for example in my mxml item renderer component I have the added the following code
    <mx:Image source="@Embed(source='assets/' + data.mycolumnvalue + '.png')" tooltip="{data.mycolumnvalue}"/>
    but nothing is displayed.

  • How do I show an image in a DataGrid column?

    I'm not sure that this is possible. I would like to show an
    image in a datagrid column based on the data that the grid is bound

    Thanks!

    Yes, you need a custom itemRenderer. This can be inline or a
    custom class.

  • Center text in Datagrid columns

    Hi all,
    I need help vertically centering text in a datagrid column.
    Does anyone know of a way to do this without custom item
    Renderers?

    Would really need to see the code to see the extent of the damage Photoshop html has caused. This is a typical problem when exporting html from Photoshop OR trying to assemble the slices into one gigantic table where the cells have been split and merged numerous times which causes distortion.
    The idea, looking at your page, would be to insert a simple 3 column x 1 row table into Dreamweaver then insert the components that make up your page into their realtive columns. Using this simple construction method will ensure that all the page elements remain seperate and cannot interact with other element in different cells, which is what is NOT happening in your construction at the moment.

    Thanks,
    Srilatha

    Hi Srilatha,
    DataGrid width is 100% and the main application width also 100%, So the
    DataGrid will try to occupy the whole window, when you do "restore down" &
    "maximize" Application width will change.. and it will effect DataGrid and
    its columns also. Try to give some fixed width for dataGrid and you can
    expect the result.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute"

    Dynamic DataGrid columns
    Example of how to dynamically create DataGridColumns
    A completely dynamic DataGrid example.
    This example uses the xml from the Flexstore example. It
    examines the first product node and uses that to create the
    definitions for the columns. There is some example logic to change
    the columns properties.
    It then instantiates the GataGrid and its columns array,
    assigns the properties, and then the dataProvider, and then adds
    the dataGrid to the application container.
    The example is fully self-contained, since a portion of the
    catalog.xml file is included in the mxml.

  • How not to sort datagrid column on double click

    Hello,
    I am currently building an application containing a datagrid for data representation. I've created a custom datagridheader in order to add a input text for filtering the columns (see code below).
    My goal is to hide the textinput, and then show it on a double click on the header. So i would like to know how to avoid the sort of this column each time i double click.?

    Hi Sara,
    Many thanks for your reply.  We just brought Adobe Acrobat XI Pro complete
    with Adobe Forms Central, My manager asked whether I could use the forms
    part to create a summary tracking sheet for all of our contracts.
    Having looked at it I could see how to create a table that in the first
    column deleted costs from a starting fund, and in the last keeps a running
    total of all monies spent.
    I agree, Excel does seem to be much better suited to the task.  I was try
    trying to comply with her request
    Regards,
