Flex datagrid with complex data item - drag doesnt start sometimes

Hi,
my project has a datagrid which is rendering complex data item. I need to drag one row from the grid and drop it into the same grid but in a different position.
I have enabled drag, drop and dragMove.I am able to drag and drop the rows. The problem is that sometimes the drag doesnt start.
Here are a few scenarios where drag doesnt start
the first column is not editable. if I start my drag by doing a mouse down on the frist cell of the row, it usually drags an empty row but sometimes it drags the whole row.
if I have dragged and droped a row in position i(say). Then sometimes the row at position i-1 or i+1 doesnt get dragged no matter how many times i try to do mouse down and drag. However, if I drag some other row (not necessarily drop it elsewhere) and then try this row, it works.
any pointers would be helpful.

Update on item 4a -
This was a major issue (the main reason for opening this thread really) and I managed to resolve it!
As part of my application, I override the default DataGrid behavior for column selection (headerRelease event).
Instead of sorting, I change the column's header looks and define it as Selected (for showing its dynamic properties and enable its deletion).
At first I did this by setting styles, but the look didn't refresh unless I created a new instance of the header renderer.
Later I changed thi behavior to work with states, but I left the new header renderer instance creation commands and those lines created all the mess!
Conclusion -
If you define a custom header renderer for your datagrid column and then a custom item renderer, don't create a new instance of your header renderer!
It would still be nice to get some response for the other issues I raised.

Datagrid Column with complex itemRenderer / itemEditor

I have a datagrid with a custom component used as an itemRenderer / editor. The component has two view states (default is simply the text of my data and the second state contains my editor fields). I have is set up so that when an individual double-clicks on the cell of my datagrid the renderer changes view states to the editor view. This view contains a dateSelector component and two numeric stepper components that reflect a date (dateSelector) and the hour and minute in the two steppers. The problem I have is that I'm trying to control the view state based on when the user clicks outside of the editor. When the user is done editing the applicable field(s), I want the viewstate to change back to simply the text-view state and remove the editors.
I had this working except that whenever a user changed focus from say the dateSelector to one of the numeric steppers the view state changed prematurely. The editor view should stay in view until the datagrid cell loses focus. Any ideas???

thanks for the response. I've looked at your example with the two text fields and can't seem to find a way to implement the same idea in my project. When the DG loads I don't want the editable fields to be displayed. I just want the user to see the text values. When the user double-clicks, I want the renderer to change to an editor and allow the user to make the necessary changes. I'm trying to switch view states within the renderer/editor to make this happen but can't seem to get the editor to switch back to a renderer when the cell in the DG loses focus. That's when I would like the switch to occur and not before. What happens now is that whenever one of the editable components loses focus the editor automatically switches back to a renderer and doesn't allow the user to navigate to any of the other editable components without double-clicking again. My editor uses a date selector and two numeric steppers. Any ideas? I'm still learing Flex and AS 3 so any help is greatly appreciated!! BTW... great blog.

I have re read the Cell Render documentation and looked at
all the examples I can find of which there are only 3
all of them receive the data to populate the combo box from
hard coded arrays with in the actionscript itself, I could not find
a single example that receives the data for the datagrid and the
combo box from a remote source like a php script or text file.
I have been trying for days to get this datagrid combo box to
work properly.
I can get it to work if I put the data array in the
CellRenderComboBox.as file as follows.
this is what the examples show.

And there seems to be very few comments or examples anywhere
of datagrid with combo box being populated from an external source.
There are examples of them being populated from within the
actionscript itself but not from an external source. I'm wondering
if there is some problem with this.
Can anyone see where I'm going wrong?

Call a method with complex data type from a DLL file

Hi,
I have a win32 API with a dll file, and I am trying to call some methods from it in the labview. To do this, I used the import library wizard, and everything is working as expected. The only problem which I have is with a method with complex data type as return type (a vector). According to this link, import library wizard can not import methods with complex data type.
The name of this method is this: const std::vector< BlackfinInterfaces::Count > Counts ()
where Count is a structure defined as below:
struct Count
Count() : countTime(0) {}
std::vector<unsigned long> countLines;
time_t countTime;
It seems that I should manually use the Call Library Function Node. How can I configure parameters for the above method?

You cannot configure Call Library Function Node to call this function. LabVIEW has no way to pass a C++ class such as vector to a DLL.

Web service call problem with complex types input

We are trying to call a web service and pass as parameter
some complex types. When invoking the web service everything works
well on flex side, but on the server side the input parameters we
get from flex are not correct - complex type is removed and the
elements of the complex type are sent. See the example:

Details: Another try in fixing this bug. When legacy-collection is false, Actionscript Array on the client becomes Java Array on the server and my fix yesterday assumed this case. However, when legacy-collection is true, Actionscript Array becomes Java ArrayList on the server. So added code to handle this case.

WCF Service as Data source in SSRS report with Complex Types

Hi All,
I have a requirement where we are suppose to use WCF service as datasource in SSRS. I was able to do that when the WCF response type was simple.
Now the requirement have changed where the response type is complex . I couldn't figure out a way of accessing WCF with complex types.
Any pointer will be of great help as I couldn't find any related articles for this kind of scenario.

WCF uses a serialization engine called the Data Contract Serializer by default to serialize and deserialize data (convert it to and from XML). All .NET Framework primitive types, such as integers and strings, as well as certain types
treated as primitives, such as DateTime and XmlElement,
can be serialized with no other preparation and are considered as having default data contracts. Many .NET Framework types also have existing data contracts. For a full list of serializable types, see Types
Supported by the Data Contract Serializer.
New complex types that you create must have a data contract defined
for them to be serializable. You can explicitly create a data contract by using DataContractAttribute and DataMemberAttribute attributes.
This is normally done by applying the DataContractAttribute attribute
to the type.

Need for a Datagrid with variableRowHeight="true" and custom Item Renderer to display exact rows

I'm in a search of a datagrid with certain characteristics:
     - variableRowHeight = "true"
     - only one column
     - each row must have a custom item renderer with possibly different heights, and a fixed width
     - the datagrid must show always every item in the data provider with no vertical scroll bars, what means that the datagrid height must have always the exact height sum of all the item renderers it is displaying.
     - and no extra empty rows must appear in the last positions of the datagrid
The last two requirements are something difficult to achieve... for some reason, empty rows appear at the last positions of the datagrid. I post what i've managed to get:

Thanks Harui, but it doesn't help. If the border is set it will help, but the very big problem is the empty rows that appear at the end of the datagrid... I can't find a way of measuring correctly the height of the itemRenderers!
I'll update this thread if I manage to do it.

Assign error with complex type return message

The detailed value of the return message lost, only leaving the href. Can I find the desired value again? should I try another XPATH expression? should I parse the result from the SOAP message directly? Or it's a problem of the system itself?

From Axis's user guide: RPC services default to the soap section 5 encoding rules, objects will be encoded via "multi-ref" serialization. Document services do not use any encoding (so in particular, you won't see multiref object serialization or SOAP-style arrays on the wire)
May be I should try document service style instead of RPC. Thanks for your reply.

How to Post XML Messages with SOAP Headers to a Trading Partner URL

Greeting to the Oracle B2B Community. We are currently working on how to post a Custom XML Message with SOAP Headers to a Trading Partner URL. I would really appreciate if anybody could provide me some inputs or links to some documentation on how to achieve the above requirement. The details are below:
1. Our Internal Application generates a Flat File (PO Extract).
2. The Extract then needs to be transformed to an XML Message. We are planning to use BPEL to do the transformation to XML Message.
3. Once it is transformed to an XML message it needs to be posted to the Trading Partner URL as an HTTP Post and with SOAP Headers.
We are planning to use B2B to do the posting but I am not sure on how to do the set-ups and what all parameter files in B2B needs to be updated in order to achieve the same. Also it is mandatory that we send SOAP Headers in the XML Message.

As you are already doing the transformation from Flat file to XML in BPEL which is typically the capability of B2B, please use the Soap binding in BPEL to send the document to Trading partner.
