DataGuard Continuing to Fail - ORA-16766, ORA-01237 - OPSCODE 17.4

DataGuard Broker failing every few hours ... have to stop and restart. ORA-16766, ORA-01237. I cannot find any information on the failure apply recovery marker (opscode 17.4).
The thought would be from the errors that the volume is out of space, we are running NETAPP and the volumes do auto expand but when I looked the volume it was only at 44% full at 1600 yesterday when I restarted and today I it is at 28%.
These are BIGFILE tablespace. I have restarted multiple times and keep getting the same errors daily and I just end up restarting and everything works again w/o intervention.
I don't want to daily have to check dataguard. If I don't run dg and just run "recover standby database until cancel auto" ... it just keeps going w/o issue, any ideas on the problem?
Please advise:

It appears to be a problem that occurs every time an OMF file wants to extend that it kills the dataguard process irrelvant of what volume the file is on.

    Rgds,

    In addition to the above post, I forget to say that... When a log switch is done in the primary database the second database also recognise this and it recieves the archive log content.
    Awaiting for an update..

  • Error: ORA-16766: Redo Apply unexpectedly offline

    I am trying to start DataGuard, but I am getting a 'Error: ORA-16766: Redo Apply unexpectedly offline' error when I do a 'show database verbose' on my standby database (the primary is fine). I do a 'alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session;', but I am still getting the same error. Both databases are 10.2.0.4. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

    Did you check the standby alert log ?
    If you are using dataguard broker you should not be manually starting recovery.
    Did you try :-
    ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE USING CURRENT LOGFILE DISCONNECT;

    I didn't get the information, What I want. Anyway, in the BLOB writing portion you have to create a temporary LOB and load your file into that temporary LOB and the write it into chunks.
    Something like
    DBMS_LOB.OPEN(v_src_loc, DBMS_LOB.LOB_READONLY); --Read the file
      DBMS_LOB.CREATETEMPORARY(l_blob, TRUE); --Create temporary LOB to store the file.
      v_amount := DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH(v_src_loc); --Amount to store.
      DBMS_LOB.LOADFROMFILE(l_blob, v_src_loc, v_amount); -- Loading from file into temporary LOB
    /* Writing the BLOL in chunks */
      WHILE l_pos < l_blob_len LOOP
        DBMS_LOB.READ(l_blob, l_amount, l_pos, l_buffer);
        UTL_SMTP.write_raw_data(v_connection_handle,
                                UTL_ENCODE.BASE64_ENCODE(l_buffer));
        UTL_SMTP.WRITE_DATA(v_connection_handle, UTL_TCP.CRLF);
        l_buffer := NULL;
        l_pos    := l_pos + l_amount;
      END LOOP;For more example see these posts:

    Can any one tell me the excat solution for this?Was this working before? If yes, any changes been done recently?
    Can other users run the same concurrent program with no issues?
    Please post the contents of the concurrent request log file here.
    Please ask your developer to open the file using Reports Builder and compile the report and run it (if possible) with the same parameters.

  • Install fails due to ORA-12899: value too large for column

    Hi,
    Our WCS 11g installation on Tomcat 7 fails giving a "ORA-12899: value too large for column".
    As per the solution ticket https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?id=1539055.1 we have to set "-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8" in tomcat.
    We have done this beforehand by setting the variable in catalina.bat in tomcat 7 bin as shown below
    But still we get the same error while installation.
    If anybody has faced this , let us know how you resolved it

    We were unable to install WCS on Tomcat 7 but on Tomcat 6 by specifying "-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8" in java options using "Tomcat Configure" it was succesful.
    An alternative we found was to increase the value of the column itself.
    Using command
    ALTER TABLE csuser.systemlocalestring
    MODIFY value varchar2 (4000)

  • Standard Data Collection Failing with Error ORA-04054: database link  does not exist.

    Hi Gurus,
    When I am running Standard Data Collection in ASCP(APS) instance R12.1.3, its failing with error : ORA-04054: database link  does not exist.
    There is no such Database link exits which is showing in above error.
    Also the database link name in the above error is not profile values in the database.
    I think, concurrent might be fetching this database link name  from some tables related to plan.
    I am not having much knowledge about how this ASCP/APS works.
    Need your help to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,

    Could you confirm if the database is open or not? There are other messages that accompanying this message?
    Reference:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
