Datasync and domain Wide administration port problem
Hi,
After enabling domain wide administration port in WLP 8.1, wee start to see following
exception on our managed servers log file. This happes in every mananaged server.
Datasync.war is deployed only in adminserver as the manual says. We see this error
every time we boot our managed servers.
Any ideas?

Cause might The managed server was given a URL to boot from that resolves to a managed server address. If the managed server is running on the same machine as the admin server, this can be caused by a failure to specify a unique admin port.
Inspect the address:port provided to the managed server from which to boot. This address should be changed to reference the admin server rather than resolving to a managed server. If the managed server is running on the same machine as the admin server, you must differentiate them by providing a unique port number.
Now we log a clear message that prints something like ,
The address provided to get to the admin server x.x.x.x resolves to a m
anaged server local address x.x.x.x:nnnn rather than a remote address as
expected, or the local managed server port might already be in use if you
have setup domain wide admin port, please check the configuration and correct
the problem.

Domain wide administration port and node manager
I need a little help understanding how to properly configure the domain-wide
administration port in a clustered domain using node manager. After I enabled
the port in my domain, node manager will no longer start the managed servers
running on the same box as the domain's admin server. I don't have problems
starting remote managed servers. I see the problem but I don't know how to
fix it.

The host I'm specifying is the host of my admin server, the port is the domain-wide

Domain-wide administration port?
Hi,
I tried to start a cluster of 2 servers across 2 physical machines, I got error and server starting failed:
"Starting Managed Servers in Standby mode requires the domain-wide administration port."
My topology is as following:
Domain A is created in machine A and copy to machine B:
Machine A: admin serverr at port 8001. Managed server at port 8088 of cluster1.
Machine B: Managed server at port 8088 of the same cluster1.
What is wrong? Why I cannot start cluster? Why I got error " need domain-wide administration port"? What is "domain-wide administration port"? Why my created domain admin server at Machine A didn't work?
Your prompt help is highly appreciated. I am waiting for your help.
Thank you in advanceHi,
First of all the domain-wide administration port enables you to start a WebLogic Server instance in STANDBY state. It also allows you to separate administration traffic from application traffic in your domain.
so check in ur console whether u have specified the start up mode as STANDBY.if so change it to Running and try restarting the server:-
You can do that by chking the below link:-
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/ConsoleHelp/taskhelp/startstop/SpecifyAStartupMode.html.
Domain-wide administration port is used when you have configured ssl for ur servers. Refer http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/ConsoleHelp/taskhelp/domainconfig/EnableTheDomainwideAdministrationPort.html for more info. -
WLST with Domain-wide Admin Port configured
Anybody tried WLST with Domain-wide Administration Port (DAP) turned on?
Is there a set of instuctions to change over smoothly to using the DAP URL instead
of the plain-text URL?
Thanks,
-RAJHello Raj, to use DAP start WLST as
java -Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
-Dweblogic.security.TrustKeyStore=DemoTrust weblogic.WLST
if you are using the demonstration SSL keys and certificates
Thanks,

I "upgraded" to Lion and ran into Administrator account problem
I "upgraded" to Lion a week ago on my MBP. Almost everything is working OK. I've upgraded a Number of programs to newer versions and even reinstalled Office 2011. With Adobe InDesign (i just upgraded from CS4 to CS5.5) when I try to activate a 3rd party plug-in it tells me to run the program as Administrator. Everything I've done is from the only account on the machine which is an Administrator account. I tried setting up another account and setting it as an administrator, but still no luck. Is anything like this common to Lion installs? BTW the Indesign is an upgrade but the previous version ran fine on this machine in Snow Leopard.
When I go to System Preferences>users and groups>you can click on the icon photo for the user account and change it to a handful of pictures, but before the lion upgrade there were probably double. My husband also upgraded and he has at least double what I have to choose from.
When I go to Finder>Go>(Option)Library.....I don't see a folder called "User Pictures"? I was hoping to copy his and transfer them to mine.... -

Use of domain administration port breaks session access?
WLS 8.1.2;
We have a third-party app deployed in a pretty basic cluster setup (two managed servers, each on a separate machine). When accessing the main web app, it works fine. If/when we enable the domain-wide administration port (DAP)(after enabling SSL on each server), we can no longer access the application - we get the exception shown below.
Note - if we shut down one of the two managed servers with DAP enabled, the app works. If we disable DAP and run both managed servers using SSL, the app works.
What have done wrong?

How can I disable administration port?
Hello
By a mistake I enabled the domain-wide administration port, and now I can't log into the console.
Which file can I edit to disable the domain-wide administration port, without using the console?
Thanks!Never mind. I finally managed to use the console again...

Enabled WebLogic Server domain administration port, now can't connect
I am having troubles in an OID 11g cluster using new custom identity and Java standard trust, so setup a basic lab server with WLS 10.3.3 admin server and one managed server. All was well.
I enabled the domain-wide admin port (9002) and can access the admin server console via https://localhost:9002/em.
I am unable to start the managed server with ADMIN_URL of t3s://localhost:9002 or https://localhost:9002 or using the fully-qualified host name. It says "There is no server running at t3s://localhost:9002" for example.
I enabled SSL debugging, and it just "gives up" quietly, deciding there is no SSL trust:

Administration port - network channel for admin traffic
I am trying to configure a separate channel for Administration traffic on weblogic. I followed the oracle docos and configured the SSL, domain wide admin port, server listen address, ‘admin’ channel.
The issue is admin traffic in not happening through the newly created channel.
L2 network is not getting used. I can’t see any activity in the monitoring tab of new Channel. Also the netstat is showing that the port 9101/9102 is getting used on the 192.168.100.218 and not on 10.254.252.849.
I also tried by setting up the newly created channel weight as 51, but no luck.
Is JMX connectivity related to admin channel?
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

For first question the answer is no. With the administration port, you enable the SSL between the admin server and Node manager-managed Servers. You can still use the web console.
For teh second question, you can use ANT or can use the WLS Scripting ..you can get more details in dev2dev.bea.com

Macs joined to AD Domain, and 802.1x/mab authentication problems
Hello, I've got a situation where i have a small handful of Mac Pro's running OS 10.6 that are having some trouble with wired 802.1x/MAB (Mac Autehntication Bypass) on our cisco switches. We have our macs setup so that they autenticate to our windows domain for user login, plus, we have 802.1x authenciation (for our windows clients) and MAB bypass for our macs, printers, and assorted other equipment. Problem seems to be, the Mac boots up before the switch goes into MAB bypass and wont let the user login to the network. Has anyone ran across this problem before and found a solution?
hello,
in my organization we have multiple 3560/2960 series switches and some 4500 with MAB.

authentication order mab dot1x
authentication priority mab dot1x
authentication port-control auto

I have an Iphone 5S and used to sync it to my computer in the past without any problem, but now I can't, and appears the message "usb device not recognized", and the cable is good and so the USB port. Do you have any idea what's the problem?
Try leaving it plugged in and then restart the computer.
If you are on Windows this link may help but it is a bit old.

Hello,
It isn't the fw in Network you want o use or look at, that's for something completely different.
My first suspect is the Power Adapter on the LaCie has gone.
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware>Firewire, what is listed there?
Reset the Firewire bus
If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device. A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
1. Shut the machine down.
2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
3. leave it for 10 minutes.
4. Connect back up and reboot.

BTW, I also corrected your urlrewrite command as it was incorrect. You need to specify the host. So not http or https in front.
