Hi, I need to get the difference between two dates (in days) in a calculated field, can anyone help me?

(Date1-Date2)/86400 should give you the time difference in days. 86400 is the number of seconds in 1 day.

You might want to use "where fielddate > SYSDATE - 180,
but 180 is just an approximation in days of 6 months and won't be
exact. I use 8i, but aside from outer joins, they're very similar.

Differences between Oracle BAM and Oracle BI and Question BAM Data Objects

Hi,
I have two questions.
1. Can someone tell me differences between Oracle BAM and Oracle BI?
My understanding about Oracle BAM is, we use BAM to build Dashboards or Reports.
We can also build DashBoards or reports using Oracle BI.
I am not able to understand why Oracle has two tools for same purpose?
Which tool is more powerful and user friendly(Oracle BI or Oracle BAM)?
2. Every time we plan to develop Dashboard or report in BAM, we need to create BAM ADC Data Object to store Data (i.e first step is to get data from external database or application and second step is to store data in BAM ADC data object).
My understanding is we have an extra step(i.e creating Data Object) in Oracle BAM to develop a report or DashBoard
I am wrong pl correct me?

Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.x sensors and Oracle BAM Server 11g TP4

In Oracle Fusion Middleware Developers Guide for Oracle SOA Suite in section 42.5 there is the next:
"You can also use Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1 sensor actions to publish sensor data as data objects on Oracle BAM Server 11g"
Is it really possible?

The other two components "Oracle BAM Event Engine" and "Oracle BAM Report Cache" are starting properly.

Oracle BAM Data Flow Service service could not be started

I can't start the Service Oracle BAM Data Flow Service
I got the message: Error: A service specific error occurred: 126
I follow the steps in the installation guide in the section:Data Flow Service Terminated with Service-Specific Error 126, but i get the error yet.

Check the event logs on the computer with Event Viewer to look for more information.

after installing BAM every thing working fine ,but if restart my system Oracle BAM active data cache service throwing following error

Make sure the path to the ODAC used by BAM (C:\OracleBAM\ClientForBAM\bin) is the first item in the system PATH
environment variable. Restart your computer after fixing this.
If that doesn't fix it, please check the Troubleshooting section in the BAM Install Guide.

the aim of BAM is not "historical dashboards" BAM is: Business Activity Monitoring=Real-Time Monitoring.
If you need the historical data from BAM you can do frecuently "export".

I'm not sure what you want to achieve here...
I want to synchronize both the Servers , so that it can update HO servers as well as Factory Server with the complete data. Could you please elaborate a little bit more; basing on your description I could also tell you how to setup timesync for those two servers if I understand "complete data" as the current date and time...
Also a lot of solutions are platform and version specific so it would help if you could indicate OS and Database Versions (4 digit).
And I still fail to see what this has to do with forms. You might want to post your question to the Database General forum: General Database Discussions

Oracle BAM : Tabs are not getting displayed

Hi
Just started working in Oracle BAM. I opened exisiting reports that came with the installation. Now when I click on Edit View -> "Data" button in the "View" Editor of an existing report ; the following tabs shld be displayed as per the BAM user guide : DataObjects, Fields, Filter, Drilling ...etc .
But none of the tabs are comming in the browser. In fact 7 empty tabs are dispalyed and are disabled.
When I click on "Properties" in the "View" editor ; all the tabs are comming and I can click on the tabs and edit the properties. But the tabs under "Data" option is not working.
I have deployed SOA suite 11.1.1.3 on wls 10.1.3. I am using IE 7. Any pointers will be helpful!!

i need the one report in oracle bam, My report requirement is show the employee name and employee name count from employee data object.
below i have mentioned the format of report,
Example :
Employee_name Employee_name_count
Ravi 25
Ragul 50
Ramesh 100
Siva 75
<null> 50 -----> incase have the null value in employee name column,
need to disply null count also
total 300
Notes:
i) Column heading is important
ii) Need to display the employee name and employee name count (same column used to display)
iii) Null count also important.
iv) total count also important
So kindly tell me which report format or chart format sutiable for this above scenario.

You can use Summary crosstab view of BAM for your requirement.
Here are the steps that -
1) I am assming a data object with two fields -
name count
pravin 25
pravin1 50
null 20
2) In BAM ActiveStudio web apps, create a new report, selected Summary crosstab view type.
3) In View editor, select the data object created in step 1
4) In Choose Fields step, select the rows (here name )and values (here count)
5) In Summary step, select teh Values as count, summary function as Sum
6) Next and Finish.

The Oracle BAM Active Data Cache (Oracle BAM ADC) is active and work well.
I search the error in the web, but I don't found a solution.

Triggers on tables in the Oracle BAM DataObjects

Hi there.
I am using Monitor Express in Oracle BAM 11.1.1.4 (PS3) and the field LATEST from dataobject BIdefault_composite_component is working as desired.
I want to use the same solution in Oracle BAM 11.1.1.3, but the field "_LATEST" was not filled automatically as other fields.
So, I tried to write a trigger to update _LATEST manually, but when I added a new register, using BAM Architect, an error message was shown:
BAM-01265: An error (ORA-04091: table DEV_ORABAM._BI_DEFAULT_BPMFormalisticaBND is mutating, trigger/function may not see it ORA-06512: at "DEV_ORABAM.ATUALIZALATEST", line 4 ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'DEV_ORABAM.ATUALIZALATEST' ) has occurred in the Active Data Cache storage system.
But bam_server.log don't show nothing related to this error.
Do I can not add triggers to BAM's dataobjects?

Problem solved.
I had formulated my trigger incorrectly (I rewrote it after to see http://www.techonthenet.com/oracle/errors/ora04091.php).
After to fix my trigger, i had the same result (or similar) that was expected with PS3 installed: atualization of field LATEST of the dataobject BIDEFAULT_...
