Date Field Display

How I can make the value of a Date field to display  in Uppercases?
Thanks

The picture clause is what controls the format of the date that is being shown. I do not see an option to get the month or days capitalized. You would have to not use a date field but a TextField then you could capitalize the month or date using the functions for uppercase in javascript or formcalc.

  • Date Field Displaying and DML Operations

    Hi all,
I have an issue with displaying and updating date columns that I'm hoping someone can assist me with.
    I'm using APEX 3.0.1.
I have a Form page with a number of fields sourced from one database table that are being populated by an Automatic Row Fetch On Load - After Header.
The Item P6_MONTHFOR is stored as a Date datatype in the table and displayed on the form using the Date Picker (use Item Format Mask). I have a Format Mask set as 'MON-RR'. I want to ensure that the last day of the month is saved back to the database table so have been trying various calculation techniques to try and achieve this but am experiencing a variety of SQL errors!
I have tried using LAST_DAY(:P6_MONTHFOR) in the Post Calculation Computation, or as a separate Computation After Submit.
I have also tried having P6_MONTHFOR as a hidden column and using display Items and then trying Item calculations to then update the value of P6_MONTHFOR column prior to DML operations but to no avail.
The only DML operations allowed on these rows are DELETE and UPDATE and I'm using an Automatic Row Processing (DML) On Submit - After Computations and Validations process to control these operations.
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated :-)
    Kind Regards,
    Gary.

the function LAST_DAY is a date function, expecting a date as input. Since it is all web, the values of items are as string/varchar2. In order to use date-function, you have to first make it a date with to_date() with the format-mask (DD-MON-RR).
In my opinion Dates are still tricky, it would be great if ApEx would have a DV() function, next to the V() and NV() functions, It is in ApExLib (of Patrick Wolf)

  • Email Notification with date field

    Hi,
i marked the a field as Display field this way it is displayed in the Email notification. (%Records%).
But i can see the letral date field displayed in email as 2010:03:09:00:00:00:000
Why is the ''00:00:00:000'' displayed when i have a date field??
    Did anyone face this issue..
    KR
    John

    HI John,
Date field in MDM is 18 characters long and has date as well as time component to it.
You can use assignment to trim this and transfer its value to another field and make that field as DF,so that it is displayed in the mail as date.
Otherwise you can also create a calculated field for this purpose.
Please go through this very useful link to create expressions/validations with dates:

    Hi experts,
I am not getting displayed the date field in ALV in the format 'YYYY-MM-DD' if it is different than my user setting's format (DD.MM.YYYY).
    Tried with the edit mask

  • CRVS2010 beta - Date field from database does not display in report

Hi there - can someone please help?!
I am getting a problem where a date field from the database does not display in the report viewer (It displays on my dev machine, but not on the client machines...details given below)
    I upgraded to VS 2010
I am using the CRVS2010 Beta
My development machine is Windows 7 - and so is my fellow developer's
We are using Microsoft SQL Server 2000
We run the queries within VS and then we send the data table to VS using .SetDataSource
We have a few reports which display the date on our dev machines (whether we run the EXE or from within Visual Studio)
When we roll out to the client machines (running Windows XP SP3) then everything works, except that the date does not display (on quite a few reports)
This is the only real issue I have had - a show stopper for me
The rest works well - any input will be greatly appreciated
    Regards,
    Ridwan

    Hi Ridwan,
After much testing I have it all working now using CRDB_adoplus.dll as a data source ( XML )
Alter your Config file to look like this:
    <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
    <supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/>
    </startup>
Then using the code below, and CR requires the Schema to be able to read the date format.
private void SetToXML_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)

  • Data not submitting when I have a conditional display on a date field

    Hello all,
Could someone please help me with the following issue?
I have created an updateable report region with four updateable fields. 3 of the fields store a number values and the fourth stores a date value.
Each updateable report item has a conditional display, and whether they are displayed or not is controlled by the end user using a radio group (with submit). This provides the user with three options.
If I remove all conditional displays all data will commit to the database without any problems. If I apply the conditional display to the number fields only, again the data will commit as normal. However, as soon as I add a conditional display to the date field it all goes pair shaped. The data will then cease to commit, with no error message at all. Once I remove the conditional display normal service is resumed.
I'm certainly an APEX novice at the moment, so I wondered if anyone could shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance for your help
    Steve

    Stew,
Basically, I have edited each applicable report field column attributes, via the report attributes tab, and selected a conditional display 'Value of item in Expression 1 = Expression 2' for all of them.
In the same report region I have created a radiogoup with submit called p51_update_type, specifying three static return values; R, F and S
    Condition e.g.
    *"Expression 1"*
    p51_update_type
    *"Expression 2"*
    S
All columns display as expected, and commits to the database are normal, that is until I apply a conditional display to the date field (which relates to a table column of type DATE in the database).
    Thanks
    Steve

  • Issue in displaying DATE field in Excel sheet

    Hi All,
Kindly help me with the below issue:
A report program when exexuted fetches the data's from database tables and populates in to an itab and the same is then moved to a itab which is declared like this:
DATA: BEGIN OF t_downd OCCURS 0,
            line(4096) TYPE c,
          END OF t_downd.
This T_DOWND will have all the obtained records and the same is used to pass the entries to GUI_DOWNLOAD function module inorder to save the excel sheet in '.csv' format to the desktop.
The issue is the user wants the 'DATE' field to be displayed in 'DD-MM-YYYY' format in the excel sheet. So I have fetched the date based on the position(fdpos) and used the concatenate statement separated by '-'. Now when I run the program, some dates are not getting displayed in 'DD-MM-YYYY' format and some dates are getting displayed correctly as per the requirement.
While debugging also, I could find the date value in T_DOWND in the 'DD-MM-YYYY' format only. Not sure where it is actually getting changed and why.
Can some one please provide a soultion for this.
    Thanks,
    Deepa

    Hi Soumya,
    Thanks for the reply!
I declared a constant in the below format for the quotes:
    constants : c_quotes type c value ''''. (i have put 4 quotes)
Now i have concatenated the above quotes to my date value.
But the output in the excel sheet is now getting displayed like this '30-02-2011
All the dates are getting displayed in the correct expected format, but the only issue is we are getting an extra quotes in front of the date.
Can you please suggest why this is happening.
    Thanks,
    Deepa

Don't install sp2it sucksclassic case of the cure being worse than the disease.
Downloading and installing the SP3 redisist fixed the issue.
    This link is probably appropriate:

    Software Product->select Crystal Reports
    Version->select Crystal Reports 2008
    important part
Software Type->Utility Click Search Download the redist install.
Not very intuitive, but you'll need to do this so you download the runtime and not the full version.
Hope that saves you the 5 hours it took me to figure this darn thing out...I hate unintuitive products--they aren't very professional.

SAP, where do I send the bill for supporting your own product?
I too have the same problem. Hopefully we can get a solution to this soon as the delayed release of the 2010 runtime has us in a difficult place.
The problem: I upgraded my project to Visual Studio 2010; therefore, I upgraded to the Crystal Reports for Studio 2010 beta.
Everything worked fine until I modified the app.config so that I could deploy the application into our test environment. We do not have Visual Studio installed in this environment, so we needed to have a Crystal Reports Runtime. According to the SAP website deployment guide, currently the only way to deploy a 2010 app is to use the 2008 runtime by modifying the app.config file to redirect the bindings.
__Now, none of my date fields appear on the reports.__
Just to test, in my development environment, I commented out the redirects in the app.config and the dates appeared. I uncommented the redirects so that the 2008 runtime would be used and then my dates disappeared from the report.
Here is the entry I put into the app.config:

  • How to display this 2 character for date field (    \   \       )

    hi friends
it's possible to display the character format in text field after you run the form
    plz I need your help
    thanks

    Hello,
So you mean for the date field you want to show slashes by default. I don't think that forms will support this type of things.
BTW may i know what is the purpose to show like this?
If you use the normal format which is DD/MM/RRRR it will add the slashes automatically. When user will enter date like this 01012010.

The new column can either display the number days elapsed from 'Effective Date' to the key date or it can also display Number of Years/ Months / days.

I'm not sure why you would do it the way you have it implemented in 3 select lists.
Why not use a Item Type of Date Picker, and let the user use the pop-up Date Picker to select the date.
You code has some fatal flaws:
    1) You can't see any data before 2000
    2) You can't see any data past 2010 (probably not an issue now)
    3) It's possible to specify February 31 as a date
Using the built-in Date Item type will eliminate these issues and at the same time, make your UI more streamlined.

  • To Display a date field in TSTCT table

    Dear Experts,
Recently we got a request to have a date field in TSTCT table. So, that when ever the new transaction is created the date will automatically display  in TSTCT table. Now there is only three fields in the table. There is no further settings to regarding the display of date field. Is there any possible cases/BADI's which helps to display the Date field in TSTCT Table. Please help me with possible solutions.
    Thanks in advance, Regards,
    Harsha.

    Dear Eswara,
It is not possible adding field through BADI or exit. But you go into /nSE11 for this table and go to Technical Settings, if the check box 'Log Data Changes' is set then you may be able to display a log of changes made to entries in this table using /nSCU3.
    Regards,
    Abbas.

  • Business Partner Creation/Display - General Data fields are missing

    Hi,
We have an issue in our ECC6.0 system. In FPP1/FPP2/FPP3 transactions General data fields such as Driver's license, SSN, Employee class are missing under Identification tab. But the same are displayed in BP transaction code. What configuration would causing this issue.

I found a SAP Note 844949 which is talking about the same kind of issue. As per the note I regenerated subscreen containers for application object BUPA.
Call transaction BUSP and generate the subscreen containers for the application objects BUPA, FICA and BUPR. To do this, set the "All screens" indicator under "Generate All Screens or Just Selected Screens".
If this does not correct the incorrect display, use transaction BUPT for the business partner or transaction CAWM for the contract account to make sure that the fields are not missing due to the field modifications. (If you cannot call these transactions, exit the SAP Easy Access menu by using /n and then call BUPT or CAWM.

  • How do I take two separate non numeric fields in a acrobat form and combine the data to display in a third separate field?

How do I take two separate non numeric fields in a acrobat form and combine the data to display in a third separate field?

You have to use custom JavScripting to concatenate the first 2 fields. You cannot use the first 2 calculation options because they force the values of the fields to a numeric value or ignore string values.
Possible scripts for the 3rd field are:
    event.value = this.getField("Text1").valueAsString + " " + this.getField("Text2").valueAsString;
    or
    event.value = this.getField("Text1").valueAsString.concat( " ",  this.getField("Text2").valueAsString);
If you do not want change the separator or not show the separator when on or the other field is empty, you will need to add more code to adjust for change.
The above scripts will also concatenate number because the field values are read as strings and not numbers.
There is also a generalized user written function to concatenate up to 3 fields with a separator that adjust for missing data.
