I have a problem in displaying the date in this format of '12th-Mar-2006' .
can any one tell me is there any function modele for this type..
eg:
12-03-2007 it should be print like - 12th-MAR-2007
22-03-2007 it should be print like - 22nd-MAR-2007

Date format conversion from MySQL

Hi my dear friends. I have some problem with the date format.
I am using MySQL version 3, LabSQL and Labview7.1
In the MySQL, the date format reads as 2006-12-18 14-51-25
while, when querying in Labview, it reads 18-Dec-06 14-51-25.
So when using this date (18-Dec-06 14-51-25) to query further. I got problems as MySQL does not recognise this format.
How can I convert 18-Dec-06 to 2006-12-18?
It might sound easier to change but for the year how do I change it to proper 2006, not 1906?

There probably is a way to do that, but I don't know how. I don't think it is a good idea to change the PC settings in that way because it would interfere with all other programs on the PC. Suppose the user wants the format of date and time to remain the way it is for other programs or looking at file/directory properties.
Rather than basing your functions on the system format settings, use the format string functions within labview that will make the date/time to appear the way you want it to. Look at the format date/time string function on the timing palette. Also, format into string on the string palette.

we can get the date in format 1 jan 2006 by using (d MMM yyyy) but i am not able to get st, nd, or rd after the day in(d mmm yyyy)format like 1st 2nd 3rd 4th

Java.sql.SQLException:ORA-01801:date format is too long for internal buffer

Hi,
I am getting the following exception when i trying to insert data in to a table through a stored procedure.
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01801: date format is too long for internal buffer
when execute this stored procedure from ana anonymous block , it gets executed successfully, but i use a OracleCallableStatement to execute the procedure i am getting this error.
Please let me know how to resolve this error.
Is this error something to do with the Database Configuration ?

I don't know if this will help, but we were getting this error in several of the standard OA framework pages and after much pain and aggravation it was determined that visiting the Sourcing Home Page was changing the timezone. For most pages this just changed the timezone that dates were displayed in, but some had this ORA-01801 error and some others had an ORA-01830 error (date format picture ends before converting entire input string). Unfortunately, if you are not using Sourcing at your site, this probably won't help, but if you are, have a look at patch # 4519817.
Note that to get the same error, try the following query (I got this error in 9.2.0.5 and 10.1.0.3):
select to_date('10-Mar-2006', 'DD-Mon-YYYY________________________________________________HH24:MI:SS') from dual;
It appears that you can't have a date format that is longer than 68 characters.

Change default user settings. at TCode: SU01 > User id> Change --> Defaults.
These changes are User Specific. effects to all reports.

Hi RAJU,
change the setting in your report....choose dd/mm/yyyy format.......as we do in EXCEL sheet
Right click on CELL in ur report......choose FORMAT CELLS......in NUMBER TAB select date ....change as per requirement

Problem with date format from Oracle DB

Hi,
I am facing a problem with date fields from Oracle DB sources. The date format of the field in DB table is 'Date base type is DATE and DDIC type is DATS'.
I mapped the date fields to Date characters in BI. Now the data that comes to PSA is in weird format. It shows like -0.PR.09-A
I have changing the field settings in DataSource to internal and external and also i have tried mapping these date fields to text fields with out luck. All delivers the same format.
I have also tried using conversion routines like, CONVERSION_EXIT_IDATE_INPUT to change format. It also delivers me the same old result.
If anybody of you have any suggestions or if anybody have you experienced such probelms, Please share your experience with me.

The issue again in detail
I am facing an issue with date fields from oracle data. The data that is sent from Oracle is in the format is -0.AR.04-M. I am able to convert this date in BI with conversion routine in BI into format 04-MAR-0.
The problem is, I am getting data of length 10 (Output format) in the format -0.AR.04-M where the month is not in numericals. Since it is in text it is taking one character spacing more.
I have tried in different ways to convert and increased the length in BI, the result is same. I am wondering if we can change the date format in database.
I am in puzzle with the this date format. I have checked other Oracle DB connections data for date fields in BI, they get data in the format 20.081.031 which will allow to convert this in BI. Only from the system i am trying creating a problem.

ORA-01821: date format not recognized Error in PL/SQL report-4.0

Hi,
I am using Apex 4.0 and i have a Classic report(function returning query) which selects a date column.
The query runs at the backend and gives the output.
But when i run the report on the page, i get the error
report error:
ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-01821: date format not recognizedThe values for the date column are like this 14-MAR-13,01-FEB-13 etc... Everything seems to be right.
But I have no idea why this error occurs.

Aren't these errors annoying! But there's a data / format mismatch for sure. What I need to see -- and what will tell you what is wrong -- is
1) exactly what the data is and
2) exactly what the format string is that is being used to convert it.
The values for the date column are like this 14-MAR-13,01-FEB-13 etc... Question: Is this the source data or the target data ( what it's supposed to look like after being converted)?
Let's start there:
What is the source? Is it a DB column? Is it type date or VARCHAR2 or what?
If VARCHAR2, then give us an example of the data that is failing.
What is the format -- I assume there is one -- being used to convert the data?
Are you doing a TO_CHAR or a TO_DATE?
Give us lots of detail, please. Then it should be easy to solve.

Date format not working in XML Publisher

Hi,
We have applied a date format while formatting the report layout using the Template.
The same is not getting reflected.
The output is as follows : 5/1/2006 0:0:0
i.e date with time stamp.
We require DD-Mon-RRRR format.
The same has been tried using the Text Form Field Options.
When applying the same for Number it works . But in case of Date it does not.
Can anybody who has worked on the same, let us know the appropriate way to do the same.

XMLP does not recognized the field as date. The only format recognized as date is
YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss+HH:MM
So, either make the data model to return dates in the above format, and then apply date formatting in XMLP, or do the job on the data model side and return the string in the desired final format (which, again, then will be string, not date for the XMLP)

Date format issue in Web Analysis...

I am creating a report by connecting to a couple of relational tables. I'm using SQL Spreadsheet and SQL Subscription objects. I'm creating a Date filter using SQL Subscription object (list box) using the data source created by the SQL Spreadsheet. My database default date format is 'DD-MON-YYYY'. But in the list box it shows as 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SI". When this value is selected, I get a "Literal mismatch error" since it doesn't match with the value stored in the database.
Why the format in WA is showing in this format even though it is fetchting it from my database in which the format is 'DD-MON-YYYY'. Is this related to WA date format settings? I cannot find anywhere in WA studio where I can set date formats. Is this something to be set in the server or webanalysis.properties file?
PS: I tried to work around this by storing the date value as character in the database but then I am not able to sort them ascending or descending order.I also tried creating the web analysis relational database connection which creates a virtual cube. But even there when I build the report using Data Source Navigator, it is showing date in 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SI'.

Let me provide you the details of the report.
A concurrent program has been created with executable as XDODTEXE (XML publisher report).
In the data definition, we have embed one query which fetches transaction date and due date from some tables based on some conditions.
Now, we have to show these date columns in report output which will be in EXCEL format.
We want these date outputs to be printed in dd/mm/yyyy format. That is the reason we had given-
TO_CHAR(TO_DATE (SUBSTR(transaction_date,1,10), 'DD/MON/RRRR'),'DD/MM/RRRR') in the SQL query.
Problem in output is- In date columns, data after 12th is fine i.e. in format dd/mm/yyyy, it is printing properly.
But before 12th, it is printing in format mm/dd/yyyy as mentioned below-
01/10/2012--wrong format, it should be 10/01/2012
01/11/2012--wrong format, it should be 11/01/2012
01/12/2012--wrong format, it should be 12/01/2012
13/01/2012--correct format (dd/mm/yyyy)
14/01/2012--correct format (dd/mm/yyyy)

XML Publisher to Excel Report : Date format problem

Hi,
I am trying to create an Excel report with XML Publisher. I have an issue with the Date Fomatting.
In the XML template, I have set the "Date" column in date format. But the excel output report "Date" column returns as "General text" (string) and it is sorted as text, not as date.
Can anyone please help me out?

Did this post solve your problem? I have the same issue that I need to solve.
I have an xsl-fo template with dates in it.
The dates are in english.
My excel is setup to use danish.
When I export to excel it knows the month jan, feb, mar, apr, ... which are the same in danish and english.
But months where it differs like may (danish maj) the cell is a general text instead of date.
Is there anyway you can set/transform the date in the xsl-fo template so it does not care about the language in excel?

Is there a way to change the Calendar date format in iCloud? It seems to default to the 'American' way even though on my iMac it is set to the 'British' way.

My calendar in iCloud has the following format:
1/12/2011 for the 12 January 2011
I would like it to be as all my other Calendars were/are:
12/1/2011 for 12th January 2011
Any help gratefully accepted

Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select preferences from the menu that appears, you can adjust the date format from there.
