Date format in HANA Stored procedure

Hi Experts,
I would like to change the format from 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS.FF7' to 'DD.MM.YYYY' format. ( Because my target will accept only this format )
How to do the same? do we have any standard functions which it converts to mentioned format.
Like in ABAP, CONVERSION_EXIT_IDATE_INPUT/OUTPUT.
I tried with Splitting the date and concatenating into required format. But, just want know if we have any standard function.

while using is_valid in the insert query i got an error.
Error while parsing IS_VALID as TIMESTAMP
what is the data type for IS_VALID should be?

Write back to BW cube through HANA Stored Procedure?

I am looking for a way to write back to BW cube using HANA stored Procedure and not use the traditional approach
where we fetch the data as output using stored procedure and write that to BW cube using traditional write back approach .
Is it possible to write back to cube considering it is not a flat structure using simple insert sort of statement which we can do with DSOs?

Yepp exactly. Before the insertion all characteristic values are converted to SID-s.
The reality however is not that simple, since many checks are done during the cube update. One of these is the time consistency check, which checks if the data for the time dimension is consistent or not. In case of non-cumulative scenarios this is essential.
As of now, its not possible to check this purely with DB tools and therefore there is no stored procedure available to do this from DB level directly. For the same reason its not possible to use HANA executions on DTP-s whic has cubes as a target.

HANA Stored Procedure in SAP Design Studio

if Button Click, the Procedure is executed and the result of this Procedure is shown in a crosstab.

I developed in Hana a calculation view with script, cfr stored procedure, this view I can use as a datasource in my SAP Design Studio. The loading of your datasource can be triggered by your button: set datasours load in script true, radiobutton event: DS_1.loaddatasource ();
Is this work around okay for you.

Oracle CORE     9.0.1.2.0     ProductionI have a module based on stored procedures. I have defined query, lock and update procedure. All of them are working as they should, I mean that when looking at the input and output from these procedures I don't see anything blatantly wrong.
Now, when I update a table field in the form and call the update stored procedure, this procedure takes the updated values in considerations, updates some more fields, and remove some records.
It is working as it should, except for two details :
1- I don't see the values updated by the procedure in the Form;
2- even though some records were removed from the table by the procedure, I still see all my records.
Is there a way to display the returned table?
And, is there any documentation about data block based on stored procedures, what are the required signatures and limitations of those stored procedures, what a lock procedure is supposed to do (mine does 'null;' ...), how to map a collection type defined in Oracle to a Form data block ? Any link will be appreciated, I have found half a dozen page vaguely detailing this on Google, but nothing that can compare to a usual Oracle manual. Maybe I have missed something.

Yes, I was hoping to use these procedures to map the collection type returned to the database to the block data. I guess I was wrong. Except for the initial query and reading some other information from the database, I don't have to use these procedures as I do not write anything to it.
Thank you for your help, I will go on from there.
So, it means that I will have to iterate through my collection inside Forms and manipulate my data row by row. Or, is there a way to pass an Oracle collection type between the database and the Forms client and have it displayed without having to iterate through the rows and mapping each field?

Data block based on stored procedure with input arguments

Hi,
I am able to create a data block based on stored procedure.
but I want that procedure to take input arguments as well and I am facing the issue while setting the value for that input arguments from another block item.
Please somebody help, How to set the value for input argument from another control block- item?.(Note :Data block is based on the stored procedure)

I did exactly the same way you mentioned.
But while building the form, The call to the procedure in 'QUERY-PROCEDURE' trigger has been modified like this way
procedure_name(qp_data,':BLOCK.ITEM');
so in procedure i am getting the value as ':BLOCK.ITEM' not the expected value.

Is it possible to return a cursor as a HANA Stored Procedure OUT parameter?

Hi,
I have a use case where I need to return a record set from a HANA Stored Procedure to the caller based on a couple of input parameters to the procedure. However, the record set needs to be dynamic and may have different columns based on the input parameters.
I could achieve this by creating hdbstructures or using table types as OUT parameters. However, is it possible to return a cursor holding the result set of a SELECT query as an OUT parameter for a HANA stored procedure?
(I am looking for something similar to Oracle's SYS_REFCURSOR)

How to change Access Mode of HANA Stored procedure

Hi,
When you are creating a stored procedure as design time object, one of the option is access mode (either read only or read/write).
I understand read only is default setting in HANA DB, and unless you explicitly change the setting you cannot read/write using stored procedure.
My question is, is there way to change this setting, so I have option to choose either read or read/write when I create a stored proc?

You have to enable sqlscript_mode to UNSECURE as mentioned by lars.
Then depending on whether you are specifiying "READS SQL DATA" it will act as a READ procedure else as a WRITE procedure.

Passing DATE parameters to Oracle Stored Procedures using ADO

Does anyone know how can I pass a date parameter to an Oracle
Stored Procedure? The IN parameter of the procedure is of type
DATE and the ADO parameter is of type DBDate (I've tried Date
and DBTimeStamp,too). The execution freezes at "Cmd.Execute".
Can anyone suggest a solution?

As far as I know the documentation on CR & stored procedures says that the REF CURSOR has to be a strongly bound one.
Could you go into a little more detail? Do you mean I should put a multi-valued parameter into a REF CURSOR? Can you post some code snippets here?

DATE FORMAT in HANA table

I have Csv file in UTF-8 format have fields like data
2012/02/23, XXXXXX( all 2byte characters),........................................
When i import it says invalid number for 2012/02/23.
I created table like this
Create column table Schema1.table (
SHOD     DATE,
MANUD     DATE,
and
Create column table Schema1.table (
SHOD     VARCHAR(10),
MANUD     VARCHAR(10),
both does not allow me to store data into table..any idea please.

If you are using the .ctl file to import .CSV files into HANA, the default source date format is YYYYMMDD. However, if say your source format is in the YYYY/MM/DD format for e.g... you can change your IMPORT statement as follows:

Forms Data-Block based on stored procedures - REF CURSOR feature NOT FUNCTIONING

This topic is related to another topic in this forum titled "FORMS HOW TO SET QUERY SOURCE ARGUMENTS??" I posted my message there as well. I am posting as a NEW TOPIC so that it catches the attention of Oracle Support.
I built a data form based on a stored procedure and REF CURSOR IN OUT parameter.
My procedure takes a IN parameter to fill in the criteria for the OPEN <cursor_variable> select ... where ... statement.
In the Value setting of the Query source Arguments , I set the VALUE to ":BLOCK_NAME.ITEM_NAME" at design time to supply the input value to the procedure. this works to the extent of making available the form item value to the stored procedure parameter. I verified this by doing an insert into some debug table , of the incoming parameter value inside my stored procedure.
The cursor gets opened properly into the REF cursor variable. I verified this by fetching a record into a local variable and inserting the value into a debug table again in the stored procedure.
(I took care to close and re-open the REF cursor variable again - so that the front-end can continue to fetch it from the first record. )
***** PROBLEM **************
But the front end forms runtime is giving me a FRM-40301 - query returned no records even though the REF cursor is returned properly opened.
Did anybody else face the same problem ??

My Bad. The problem Cause : I did not include all columns in the
cursor rowtype in the Data-block. In the wizard for the data block , I selected ONLY the columns that I needed. But I was doing a Select * from <my_table> in my open cursor <Cursor-Variable> .... The <Cursor Variable>
itself was declared <my_table>%rowtype
FIX : The Data Block structure (columns included as items) should match the cursor record Structure. One may or may not
display all the columns in the LAYOUT though.
But I don't understand why it gives such a misleading message like FRM-40301 Query retrieved no records. Oracle Team fix it.

Data Blocks Based on Stored Procedures

Is it possible to to create a data block based on a stored procedure, and create a dynamic list as a drop down box?
I have a form that runs successfully that has a data block based on a stored procedure. I add my trigger to create and populate the record group. Then in the Property Palette, when I change ITEM TYPE from TEXT ITEM to LIST ITEM, I receive the following runtime error:
FRM-40350: Query caused no records to be retrived.
Note: the tlist/list item runs successfully on a data block based on a table.

1) go to the block property to remove the same item column, then re-add the item; Since the property may remember the old text type;
make sure the record value for the list tiem from stored procedure is among the list elements!
Last sort is to do:
2) you may re-create your gui based on the table by setting the list type this time, then set the block property to be based on the stored procedure.

Date format error while executing procedure

Table A has TIME column with datatype as DATE.
In table A TIME column has values in format as mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss
Trying to execute the procedure (with the date value as an input parameter) to retrieve the records from the above table A, but getting the below error:

Hi,
Your format mask is incorrect.
TO_DATE(24-10-2020,'mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss') The problem here is the first two characters is date but you are masking it as month and also the delimiter is - but you are masking it as / and for minutes the mask is mi and most importantly to_date accepts a String literal.
should be changed to
TO_DATE('24-10-2020 00:00:00','dd-mm-yyyy hh:mi:ss')cheers
