Date format is connected to time format

I am following the Help menu that explains how I should be able to set the date and time format. In the Inspector, I have "Cell Format" and under that I can choose "Date and Time". Now, under Date and Time, I have two separate drop lists, one for Date and one for Time. Unfortunately, they are not working separately. In other words, after I select "none" for "Date", the selection for Time is changed automatically. I am sure that if the Inspector has separate drop list choices for "Date" and "Time", well, they should be separate, not linked. Why are mine linked?

More Information:
The Hypertrend.trendwith in the previous post was set at 12 hours.
The disparity between the remoted Pot setting and Hypertrend.StartTime (well....as displayed on the Button Bar and actually displayed on the Hypertrend anyway....) is variable by what is set for trendwidth!!  For example, if trend width is set at 48 hours, a Pot set of "03/24/08 10:00:00" results in a trend start time of "03/26/08 06:00:00".  With trend width set at 24 hours, the same Pot set results in a trend start time of "03/25/08 06:00:00".   As explained in the first post, with trend width set at 12 hous, the same Pot set above, results in a start time of "03/24/08 18:00:00".
This is a definite bug....????
Fix ASAP please.

  • How do I set a custom time & date format in the top bar?

    Hello guys,
    Very embarassing question, because I've had Apple's for all of my life (starting with the original Apple Macintosh) but I still haven't figured out one thing
    How do I set a custom time & date format in the top bar?
    When I go to System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats I can set different formats. I have no idea where you will see these, but I know that it's not the top bar where the time and date is being displayed. Because no matter what I enter, the format in the top bar will stay the same. I can only choose things like 24-Hour clock or not, blinking dots and so on in the Time & Date settings from the System Preferences.
    Can anyone here point me in the right direction? I see you can even choose to display the week of the year - I'd love to do that!
    All help appreciated!
    Greetings

    Language & Text system preferences, Formats tab, customize dates.
    There are also many third party menu item utilities that can.  Search Macupdate.com for some.
    One search yielded iClock Pro.  Although I never used it I would think it allows customization.  The link I gave you is to the Macupdate download page for that app.  On that same page is a Similar Software section which has other apps that can do the same thing.
    One listed is iStat Menus.  The primary use for iStat Menus is not for displaying date/time but it does do that.  And I know it can do what you want because I use iStat Menus to track temperature sensors n my machine and, like you, I want to customize the menu time/date.  So I use it instead of the apple clock.  It does have the customization features I think you are looking for.

  • In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change

    For a certian Application I am using I need to change the format of the Time and Date. I had no problems in Mountain Lion. In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change. I need the date format to read as 01/01/14 and time format to read 13:00. As I said this was easily done in Mountain Lion and all previous Apple OS. I suspect it's an issue with in the OS.

    You're right, it has been that way for a long time. I've never bothered reporting it as a bug since it's simple enough to deal with, but reporting it would be a reasonable thing to do.

  • Date Format issue while Connecting to Oracle8i and Oracle10g

    Hi All,
    While playing around with JDBC drivers, I came across this weird issue. I have a Local machine with Japanese Locale and I have 2 Database Servers that too with Japanese Locales and Oracle 8i and Oracle 10g each. Now, I connect to these database using JDBC drivers for 8i and perform "select sysdate from dual". Then, m getting dates with 2 different format. While 8i being returning Date with 'DD-MON-RRRR' format, 10g returns date with 'DD-MM_RR' format.
    Initially I thought it might be because of some VM Locale thing but when I connected to 10g DB from 8i Oracle client, this behaviour did not changed. Which mean in this case also the date format returned ny the query was different.
    Guys F1! F1! (Help! Help!) Appreciate your help to understand this process. Links and suggestions welcome... :)

    I guess u did not read the whole content. I mentioned this but the difference in behaviour with respect to JDBC drivers made me post this in Java forum.
    As I mentioned, it has something to do with the jdbc driver or oracle server itself. Agreed, but what that "something little to do" is the maiin question.
    I mentioned that I want to understand this process about how JDBC driver works with Client VM specific Locale settings while interacting with Oracle Database.
    Don't you think it could be interesting to know, what it is which brings this difference in results. Its all about clarifying the small bits & pieces which stays unanswered if one overlooks. Its own perception, I felt like asking question, no offense right!

  • Date Format in Record Working Time

    Dear All,
    We are using standard ESS SAP Application i.e. Record Working Time. In this application in Weekly View, the date format is MM.DD.YYYY.
    But for other countries it should be DD.MM.YYYY.
    How to change this format?
    We have changed the format in SU3 but still from portal the format is same.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Nikesh Shah

    Hello,
    Crystal Reports is now returning all rows where pos_endd is null in the database with the record selection criteria of:
    {CHRIS_EmpSal.pos_endd} = date(0, 0, 0)
    However, when I run it in Finance One, it doesn't like this date format   Is there another way to get both Crystal and Finance One (i.e., SQL Server DB) to recognise the same syntax for null dates?

  • Adding time into date format

    Hi
    Is there any easier way to add time value "now" into a date format with time value 00:00
    I managed to add the time
    Value(dateVariable)+(Value(Now())-Value(Today()))
    I just wander if there is any easiest way to do that or if there is any planed options for that?
    Thanks

    Hi Brutton
    I know about this. My scenario is that I use my custom date picker where user can pick a date. For easier date picking I use date format (today) and then adding day ,month or year into that so the date formant is in time 00:00. I
    need to add now time in that date so I can sort entry by date and also by time in a collection I managed to do that with the format mentioned above but I just wander if there is also any other way to do that. We already have excellent code DateAdd where we
    can add days months and years but I can't really add time with this code. I don't think that DateAdd can add time into date format or at least I haven't figure it out yet. If not there would be nice to have A TimeAdd code then instead of calculations

  • Converting httpSession creation time to Date format

    I have the need to convert the value returned from httpSession.getCreationTime() to a Date format. The value returned from getCreationTime is long. I need to parse this value into 2 other fields. The first needs to be in year, month, day format. The second must give me the time in hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

    Simple:Date date = new Date(httpSession.getCreationTime())

  • How to set date format dd.MM.yy for chart time axis

    Is it possible to set default date format dd.MM.yy instead of MM/dd/yy in Flex charts without using label function ?
    In this case we do not know beforehand the length of the time span; it can be minutes, days or weeks.
    Setting locales in compiler options or locale settings for application seems not having any effect.

    For example
    - mx:Barchar
    - if time span is 4 minutes; time axis format is HH:mm and shows 10:00, 10:01, 10:02, 10:03 ; *this correct*
    - if time span is 5 days; time labels are automatically in MM/dd/yy format; question is how to change this automation
    to format dd.MM.yy
    - how to do this *without* dateformatter and *without* coding "if time span is is longer than day nyt less than week then use dd.MM.yy format" ?

  • Date formats-time difference

    Hi,
    Any function module which can give the date and time difference if i input the date and time in the following format
    20090322       (date)
    20090321       (date)
    040004 (time)
    040000 (time)
    I had checked the other FM's but those are not in synch with the date format I am giving.Do anyone here know about a FM which can give the time difference even if we input the date and time in the above format.
    Format is the problem I am facing.

  • ADF DVT's time Axis Date Format

    Hi, I've been working with DVT line graph and bar graph.
    Was able to display details and apply time selector.
    The details that can be displayed in the graph is dynamic, meaning the number of bars or columns that will be displayed in the graph can be smaller or bigger.
    I just noticed that the Date Format that appears in the X-Axis is not consistent, sometimes is display the dates as day (01, 02, 03.. etc.) then month under it.
    but sometimes the format is "mm/dd/yy". Is there a way to make the date format consistent?
    Thanks.

    hi experts, any idea please...

  • Custom date format -every time? dd/mm/yy

    I'm ding my first biggish form so there is a list of issues I'm trying to resolve here, bear with me...
    I'm in europe and we like the dd/mm/yy date format but this isn't a default option to choose from so I have to put in custom, dd/mm/yy every time I want a date field. I have around 12 per form at the moment so is there not a way for Acrobat to 'remember' it, even within the document, never mind the 'prefs' for the whole program. I can't find anything under language or international options.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    After setting it, right-click the field and select "Use current properties
    as new defaults".

  • TIME-ZONE date format..

    Hi, I need to store/display the 'time-zone' along with date-time information into a date column. Does anyone know what date-format i can use for the time-zone.
    Thank you very much for your help,
    sanjana.

    Hi Utpal,
    Thanks a lot! However, we are using Oracle version 8i at our project..i dont think 8i has these new datatypes. Do let me know if you think of anything else for v.8i
    Thanks very much,
    Sanjana.

    Hi Sanjana,
    I guess Oracle 9i has a few new DATE Datatypes called :
    TIMESTAMP Datatype
    TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE Datatype and
    TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE Datatype
    You could use these datatypes to store/display the timezone along with the date-time information.
    I hope this information is useful to you.

  • Converting time stamp in SECONDS to a calendar date format.. problems

    Hello. I'm trying to convert a long interger that represents the number of SECONDS passed since the 1970 date
    the number was originally generated by php's mktime() function
    one of the numbers I have for example is this : 1126933200
    I haven't done the math but this is a date probably around september of 2005.. it's irrelevant anyhow.
    I want to convert this to a date format I can use in java. I've tried to create a new date like so :
    Date date = new Date(1126933200);
    I've also tried it with the calendar method like so :
    Calendar calendar = new GregorianCalendar();
    calendar.setTimeInMillis(1126933200);
    it was only then that I realized that both these methods require the number of MILLI seconds. So I tried doing a simple multiplication by 1000 on my original number and then I started getting a "integer number too large" error when trying to compile.
    so i'm kind of at a loss here.. i figure I could make a function myself that would divide my number in days of 86400 seconds.. and then i'd have to keep in mind the bisectal (sp) and the months with more and less days etc.. but i'm sure there must be an easier way.
    and i don't get why a method who's meant to receive a very long number is giving me an error when i try to give one to it.
    your help is appreciated as always. thanks

    Hello. I'm trying to convert a long interger that

    Note you also need to define what timezone that seconds number represents.
    With Gregorian it is going to use the local timezone (the code here will anyways). The code using Date is using the UTC timezone.

  • How can I permanently change the date format from the American format to the UK's without having to constantly change it manually every time I start a new spreadsheet?

    This is my first mac so I'm still getting my bearings with it. I've only used Windows programmes before. I can't understand why it's so hard to change the date format of the cells in Numbers to keep it showing the UK format. The system preferences of the mac show that it's in the correct region and has the correct date but this doesn't seem to transfer into the Numbers program. I was very impressed with the mac until I discovered this. If anyone knows how I can get the date to stay in the correct format without having to go through the process of altering it in the cell inspector everytime then I would be very grateful.

    Numbers & most apps, especially those from Apple, use the date format you have set in System Preferences > Language & Text > Region. You can then choose UK from the Region drop-down list. Mine says Custom because I've defined things further as in the second screenshot.

  • Independently configure date format for XML/JSON serialization

    How do I configure the date format independently for each of my date fields?
    For example, let's say I have a CustomerOrder class with more than 1 java.util.Date fields in it.
    I need to be able to render like this:
    <customerOrder>
    <orderDate>2013-01-04T20:50:42.769Z</orderDate>
    <user>Bob</lastUpdateUser>
    <state>CO</state>
    <estShipDate>2013-01-04</estShipDate>
    </customerOrder>
    So one of the dates may not care about the hh:mm:ss.
    i.e. I cannot format every date the same way.
    Any ideas?
    This is my technology stack:
    - Tomcat 7
    - Jersey 1.16
    - Enunciate 1.26.2
    - Spring 3.1.2
    - Hibernate 4.1.7
    - JPA 2.0.3

    Otis,
    A "java.sql.Date" contains only a date, whereas a "java.sql.Timestamp" contains both date and time. So retrieve the data (from the database) as a "Timestamp" and not as a "Date".
    Perhaps if you'd care to post the relevant part of your code and show what you are getting and what you want to get, I may be able to help you further.
    Here's a small (uncompiled and untested) example:
    Connection conn = // However you get it.
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("select sysdate from dual");
    if (rs.next()) {
      Timestamp ts = rs.getTimestamp(1);
    }Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Date format in Resultset

    Hi ,
    I have a resultset which fetches data from different tables. The tables include
    columns incolving DATE format. The resultset fetches the date column in the
    MM-DD-YYYY HH:MM:SS format. But I need the Date format should be in the
    DD-MM-YYYY format.
    The problem is the column of Date format is unknown. Is there any way to set this format for the Resultset or at the time of Connection.
    Thanks,
    Arun

    I'm not really sure what you mean, but you can change the date format in sql level:
    select to_char(sysdate,'DD-MM-YYYY') from dual
    or a better approach is to convert the java.sql.Date in Java.
