Date format used in the datepicker

Hi, I have a problem with date format when I open the pop up calendar:
w=open("wwv_flow_utilities.show_as_popup_calendar" +.....
"&p_date_format=" + escape('MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI ' )...
I have the popUp window with message instead of calendar:
" NOT FOUND.
The requested URL /pls/htmldb/wwvflow_utilities.show_as_popup_calendar
was not found on this server."
The same code with format ('MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI ' ) works.
Tabular form lets me display and use popup_calendar in
format I want('MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI ' ), so I'm sure the datepicker in HTMLDB
can be used with this format.
Did someone go over this? May be any ideas?

This way to solve the problem is really lifesaving,
but it does not display the date and time contained in the element calling date_popup. May be documentation you used to provide the date_popup with 10 argument has something about setting the date/time to be displayed? If yes please let us know.
By the way the loosing arguments during calling the date_popup from code is the reason why calendar cannot be found. It can be seen using source view of the page:

Year and month have default values, but function expects more parameters.
It seems it is possible to make work the data_popup calling it from code and provide it with full set of data/time arguments given to js function as parameters. It works but involves too much typing.
Do you know if the HTMLDB 2.0 has this problem solved?

The SY-.SUBRC field always returns with a value of 8 (Bad data format?). The thing is that the last field of the structure IN_REC is of type i (integer) and I think this is the problem. I modified the file with a text editor and set the last field with 2, 4, 8 and 16 chars but I always receive the same error. I can't change the last field to char. Does any one have an idea of what is the problem? How can I ensure that the last field have an integer value?

How to Change Date Format according to the Locale/Country of Portal User

Hi,
In a webdynpro applicaiton, how to chage the Date Format according to the Locale/Country of Portal User.
Consider for INDIA: mm/dd/yyyy
Consider for UK: yyyy/mm/dd
So when i select the date from the Date Picker[input ui element bound to date context variable], the date format should be displayed accroding the portal users country/locale.
Creating a simple type for every date format in the dictionary would not be the right solution.
Please help.

Date format changes in the middle of a program execution

In my C code I have a series of select statements.
When I first get a session to the database I use the following command to set the date format
alter session set nls_date_format = 'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS'
It works fine for a few queries. After a while during the program execution I see that the date format changes to 'DD-MON-YY' format. This results in a series of error in my code because I expect the date format to always be in the 'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS' format.
Any idea why the date format should change all of a sudden in the middle of the program execution.

I second the idea that you should always use TO_DATE and TO_CHAR if you want to reliably convert between dates and strings.
Without seeing your code, it is hard to say why your date format is changing, but the most likely reason is that you are changing users somewhere in the code. For example:

I'm using fm TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP to upload an xls file.
I've the following problem the date in the spreadsheet is 01.01.2010 the result in the internal table after using the fm is 01.jan.2010. What must i do to get 01.01.2010 in the internal table?

What is type and size of your internal table field? Covert your excel column to text field. Now it is of type date i hope.
Best option is, always have the value in excel in YYYYMMDD (SAP standard format) and internal table field as of type sy-datum.
After uploading use WRITE TO statement to a character variable to convert the date as per user settings. Your current logic may not work if the date setting is different.

Problem with date format using date picker

In my application I provide to user ability to change date format. When using "MMM dd yyyy" format, the date picker paste to the inputbox something like "1111 07 2008" instead of "Nov 07 2008".
To set the date format I use the following code:
wdContext.nodeDateNode().getNodeInfo().getAttribute("date").getModifiableSimpleType().setFormat("MMM dd yyyy");
I know that is known bug of date picker. But there should be other way to implement this functionality. Isn't it?

DATE format - while defining the table column

I came across a piece of code which was applying a TO_DATE() function on a date type column.
I have two tables t1 and t2 and they have col1 and col2 columns respectively of type DATE

I changed the code to remove TO_DATE() and it worked fine. Dev clarified that they used this function so that if the two columns or variable are in diff date format.,..they can be put in sync.
e.g. if col1 is dd/mm/yyyy and col2 is mm/dd/yyyy then there will be an issue.
My doubt is.. in a given environment if we are creating a table and defining a column of type DATE , or defining a variable of type DATE, can their format be different at any time? I think No.?
In what scenario can the date format be different?

Having said that date format is only for display purposes, if you tend to avoid the error without changing the code then you can modify the NLS_DATE_FORMAT parameter at session level.

Why does the Canadian regional date format default to the US date format?

I've discovered that on the iPad, iPhone and MacBook that choosing the Canadian Regional format results in the US date format of mm/dd/yyyy rather than the Canadian format of dd/mm/yyyy. I can use a custom format on the MacBook (but why do I need to??) but can't see how to change under settings on my iPad and iPhone.

In iOS8 anyone can now select the "Canadian English" regional setting and you will get dates in correct ISO 8601 YYYY-MM-DD format. To confirm this is what you should use, check your Ontario Drivers License, OHIP health card or the bottom date on any federal gc.ca webpage. Yosemite is also the same. i have a simple requirement and just wondering how to acheive this?
We have a DSO object, feeded by a flat file. File contains Contract date and End date. In the target DSO we have an object called Status, which is dependant on both the date fields but the problem here is dates are coming in different format from the flat file.
The format is 01-Jan-2010 ( Standard format is 20100101 ).
I need to convert them to the standard format before calculating the status.
any simple method to achieve the above?

That's the code I'm using to update an opportunity. In the date fields (e.g. dFecha_de_entrega_al_cliente) I've tried to put an specific date in the correct format (If i put it in another format i've got an error message due the wrong format). The CRM accepted the code but it didn't update the values that are different of string.
I don´t know if there is something missing in teh program or if the developer environment is not the adequate.
