Date Manipulation in PHP, MySQL, ADDT

I have a datetime stored in MySQL  I retrieve it from the ADDT update transaction via the following statement:
$last_date = KT_escapeForSql($tNG->getColumnValue("last_kpi_gen_date"),$tNG->getColumnType("last_kpi_g en_date"));
Now I want to add 1 day, 7 days, or a month to the date.  I try using mktime but it appears it wants it in a different date order (h,m,s, y-m-d),  I've tried the strtotime function and the date function to reformat $last_date, but it doesn't seem to work.
Is there an easy way to add days to a date varible extracted from a MySQL database using ADDT getColumnValue?

Hi, I am trying to do it this way:
You can make VIEW for MySQL with current time +8 hours:
create view DATETIME as
SELECT DATE_FORMAT(DATE_ADD(now(), INTERVAL 8 HOUR), '%Y-%m-%d %H:%i:%s') as DT_add8hour;
Or with +8 days:
create view DATETIME as
SELECT DATE_FORMAT(DATE_ADD(now(), INTERVAL 8 DAY), '%Y-%m-%d %H:%i:%s') as DT_add8day;
This stores allways CURRENT time plus interval value. So You can use this to update other table colums to time you want. Works perfectly with DW+ADDT+PHP+MySQL
Here are more Date and Time Functions
Hope this helps you!

  • Export Data as CSV - PHP/MySQL

    Hi, is it possible to export MySQL data as CSV using developer toolbox? My PHP knowledge is very basic so please be gentle.
    Thanks
    Bert

    Hi Bert,
    no, ADDT doesn´t provide this feature, but there are quite some other extensions out there to export results from a recordset as CSV -- guess you´ll find some listed in the Dreamweaver Exchange.

  • PHP MysQL Background Application

    Has anyone used PHP / MySQL / ADDT to develop a background application that is clocked based?  Essentially, I'm just looking to fire off a stored procedure every "n" minutes.  Is there a way to write / configure an app to do this?

    Hi Jim,
    Are you looking to have it trigger every so many minutes while the page is open or completely in the background?
    Completly in the background:
    You might want to add a cronjob that runs the php script every so many minutes.
    or
    While page is open:
    You can set a meta-refresh to run every so many minutes so it refreshes, re-runs the script/page that is open.

  • Spry accordion with php mysql as data

    Hello
    I`m trying to create a spry accordion where the Labels are pulled from a mysql database table and the Content of that label is pulled from data in the same database. I tried adding first the spry accordion and then created 1 recordset for the labels and a second recordset for the content , then I added a repeat region for the labels DIV and inside this div I added a repeat region for the content.
    Unfortunatly when viewed in the browsers the accordion doesn`t work.
    Can anyone look at the code and tell me where is the mistake.

  • PHP MySQL data display problem

    I am having trouble getting data to display on my web page.In Dreamweaver CS3, I created a new page.
    Selected PHP as the type.
    Saved it.
    Connected a database and created a recordset (all using Dreamweavers menus. I did not write any code).
    NOTE: The database is on a remote server.
    The TEST button displayed the records from the recordset with no problem.
    On the new page, I then typed some text.
    Then dragged some fields from the Bindings tab to the page.
    I saved it and then went to preview it in my browser.
    The page comes up completely blank. Not even the text shows.
    I then saved the page as an HTML page.
    When I preview this in my browser, the text shows, but the fields and data do not.
    I then tried creating a dynamic table (again, using the Dreamweaver menus.).
    A similar thing happens, ie. If I save it as an HTML, the text shows and the column labels and border shows, but no data.
    Nothing shows if I save it as a PHP file.
    I can view the data online using files created by PHPMagic, so I know the data is there and retrievable.
    It is just in pages created in Dreamweaver that don’t work.
    What am I doing wrong?

    My web server supports PHP. I can disply PHP pages created by other software packages, just not the Dreamweaver ones.

    To view php pages - or pages with PHP code in them - in a browser, the page must be served up by a Web server that supports PHP. You can set up a testing server on your local machine for this purpose. Look for WAMP (Windows), MAMP (Mac), or XXAMP for some easily installed packages.

  • Best way to retrieve/store date Flex PHP MySQL?

    Hi All,
    I have a question about storing/retrieving a date-field from the MySQL database, using Flash Builder 2 & Zend AMF.
    This is as much as I know:
    MySQL Database stores date in this format: yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss
    And Flex will not recognise that as a "date", instead it will suggest this value is an "object".
    With "Configure return type", I can manually set this field to "date", but it will not work retrieving of updating the date as MySQL will not understand the standard date-format it'll receive,
    I guess, the best solution would be if I could tell the MySQL Server how the standard date-format should be, but I have not found this option. Can anyone confirm this?
    The remaining options are:
    Format the date in the SQL-query
    Format the date in the PHP-function sending/retrieving
    Format the date in Flex, befor assigning it to a date-field...
    Can someone tell me the BEST practice to handle date-objects? I guess it's the date_format function in MySQL....
    I'm trying to build an app with over 3200 fields, shared over 60 tables, of which many are date-fields.
    Would be awesome if I could just use SELECT * FROM myTable, and all would be fine with date-fields and all...
    Any tips?

    I'm confused. This is what I have:
    On my MySQL database, I've created a VIEW with the query that I need. I thought it'd generally be efficient to create views for every 'Form' that I need.
    This is my VIEW v_person
    SELECT p.`person_id`, p.`name`, p.`lastname`, DATE_FORMAT(p.`birthdate`,'%d/%m/%Y %r') as birthdate
    FROM person p
    Now I have a simple table v_person returning
    person_id
    name
    lastname
    birthdate
    0
    John
    Doe
    null
    1
    Jane
    Did
    23/08/1976 12:00:00 AM
    2
    Juno
    Doh
    01/04/2001 12:00:00 AM
    "Great! Now I can set up my query once, returning the date in whatever format Flex likes."
    Not.
    This is the standard generated PHP function to get information by ID. This works fine.
         public function getV_personByID($itemID) {
              $stmt = mysqli_prepare($this->connection, "SELECT * FROM $this->tablename where person_id=?");
              $this->throwExceptionOnError();
              mysqli_bind_param($stmt, 'i', $itemID);
              $this->throwExceptionOnError();
              mysqli_stmt_execute($stmt);
              $this->throwExceptionOnError();
              mysqli_stmt_bind_result($stmt, $row->person_id, $row->name, $row->lastname, $row->birthdate);
              if(mysqli_stmt_fetch($stmt)) {
                   return $row;
              } else {
                   return null;
    This is the standard generated Form in Flex:
    One note to make when using RETURN TYPE,
    is that in when I use person_id=0 , I can change "birthdate type" from OBJECT to DATE, because date is null.
    When I use person_id=1 , I CAN'T change "birthdate type" as it defaults to "STRING".
    Since I want to use a dateField in my Form, I changed birthdate type to "DATE". (Even though I now understand that return type IS in fact a string)

    Somehow SOMETHING wants to convert "10/21/1984 12:00:00 AM" to Date.
    Where does it fail? I feel like I'm SO close, but making a faceplant right before the finish.
    ok.
    I'm by no means an expert, so let me know if I'm doing something wrong, but this is how I'd expect it to work.
    Can someone tell me how I should use a dateField instead? Where should I make the stringToDate and dateToString conversion?

  • How to insert date into updated record (MySql, PHP)

    I want to be able to update an existing record and automatically include the date the change was made when I submit the data back to the MySql database.
    I saw this thread on how to insert the date on a new record using NOW()
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/855152?decorator=print&displayFullThread=true#855152
    After reading it I successfully amended my insert.php page.
    Here's the code from my insert.php page which works nicely:
    if ((isset($_POST["MM_insert"])) && ($_POST["MM_insert"] == "form1")) {
      $insertSQL = sprintf("INSERT INTO standardsclient_tbl (client_name, pantone_ref1, pantone_ref1_image, font_ref1, font_ref1_image, `date`) VALUES (%s, %s, %s, %s, %s, NOW())",
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['client_name'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['pantone_ref1'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['pantone_ref1_image'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['font_ref1'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['font_ref1_image'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['date'], "date"));
    This is the update.php page, I changed `date`=%s to `date`=NOW() but all this did was stop me from updating the record at all.
    if ((isset($_POST["MM_update"])) && ($_POST["MM_update"] == "form1")) {
      $updateSQL = sprintf("UPDATE standardsclient_tbl SET client_name=%s, pantone_ref1=%s, pantone_ref1_image=%s, font_ref1=%s, font_ref1_image=%s, `date`=NOW() WHERE client_ID=%s",
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['client_name'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['pantone_ref1'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['pantone_ref1_image'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['font_ref1'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['font_ref1_image'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['date'], "date"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['client_ID'], "int"));
    Can anyone see where I've gone wrong?
    Thanks

    In update query you have 6 %s but 7 GetSQLValueString. That's your problem.

  • Show if field is not empty - PHP/MySQL

    Is there a way I can only show bits of a page if a recordset
    has entries in a certain field, automatically hiding the area if
    the field is empty. (PHP/MySQL)
    To put it in real terms, I have loads of products listed in a
    repeating table. If a product has a photo gallery related to it
    there is a 1 entered in 'photos' field, it has a video attached
    here is a 1 entered in 'videos field and likewise for reviews it
    will have a 1 entered in the reviews field.
    What I'd like to have is a photo, video and review icon/link
    in the 'master table' which only appears in the repeated products
    that have a 1 listed in that field and have them not appear at all
    when there is a 0 in the field.
    Can anyone help me figure it out

    ADDT is certainly a great help, as it - among many other
    features - will allow you define whatever page element as
    "show/hide" based on a query result -- for this it´s using a
    so-called "condition builder" which lets you do that without
    coding.
    However you can achieve the same result without needing to
    resort to ADDT -- by using a basic "if" condition that´s
    checking the respective table column for having the value "1"
    stored, and if so, display the page segment
    The following 3 examples should work when replacing the
    sample "queryname" with the query name your page is actually using:
    <?php if ($row_queryname['photos'] == '1') {?>
    display photo icon here
    <?php }?>
    <?php if ($row_queryname['videos'] == '1') {?>
    display video icon here
    <?php }?>
    <?php if ($row_queryname['reviews'] == '1') {?>
    display videos icon here
    <?php }?>

  • Using BufferedReader to get Unicode data from a .php site

    Hi,
    Probably a rather mundane question. I'm working on an applet which uses a .php site as a proxy to get at data found in a mySQL database. It's working adequately for text consisting of standard English characters only - the only problem is that every time I read in a file, it starts with the characters ""
    It's not working at all for text using other characters - I get an incomprehensible string of characters in Java when I try that.
    So my assumption is that Java does not understand that my php document is in Unicode, and is trying to read it using a different encoding system. I use unicode charaters elsewhere in this applet and have no problems with them, so I am assumign it must be an I/O error.
    What do I have to do to make Java realize that this is unicode?
    Here's the relevant code as it is now:
    String goTo = "http://[...]/info.php?search=" + toLink(search);
    URL test = new URL(goTo);
    URLConnection testConnection = test.openConnection();
    BufferedReader dis = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(testConnection.getInputStream()));
    String inputLine;
    while ((inputLine = dis.readLine()) != null) {
                    giveout += inputLine;
    dis.close();The String giveout should have all the data from the document in it after this.
    Or do I need to change something about my php, which, as it is now, just displays the data from my database, with no HTML tags whatsoever?

    You probably have a 'byte order marker' ( BOM ) at the beginning of the file. You can use my BOMStripperInputStream posted in reply #7 of http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5310966 or you can just discard the BOM bytes from the InputStream before wrapping it in the BufferedReader.
    Hi Sabre im facin the same probem.
    bufferedReader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream("C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop/UTF8RDFiles/Example.txt"),"UTF-8"));
    bufferedReader.readLine() returns a junk character ? at the beginning of the line.
    you have instructed to use your BOMStripperInputStream posted in reply #7 of http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5310966 but i dotn know how to use it with bufferedReader because i want my method to return only a BufferedReader object.
    can you suggest me how to go about it.
    my code is as below need help.
    public BufferedReader check(){
                     bufferedReader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream("C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop/UTF8RDFiles/Example.txt"),"UTF-8"));
            return bufferedReader; // need to return bufferedReader object only...since some other code needs bufferedReader ...suggest me.

    This error means that you are trying to set the text field but there is no data in the variable. As a first step, try to identify where this is happening, eg Is it the first call, or once you have submitted your data or only if you try to submit data second time?
    Trace out the data that is returned for both completeHandlers to see if there is a missing var. Try this for "load_numbers" and "store_choice". Do it twice for "store_choice". Do you get back what you expected?
    You could also try altering the php to return some fixed dummy variables, eg  choice1Count=11&choice2Count=22&choice3Count=33, etc. If this works then you know that the error is in the PHP.
    It looks to me like the issue is when you submit the data a second time and just get back the return_msg - the handler then tries to assign the choice1Count etc but doesn't have any count data back from the poll.php.
    Test that there is data before assigning it, eg
        if(event.target.data.choice1Count){
            count1_txt.text =  event.target.data.choice1Count;
            count2_txt.text =  event.target.data.choice2Count;
            count3_txt.text =  event.target.data.choice3Count;

  • PHP/MySQL issue after security update 2010-005

    Hello,
    I run Apache/PHP/MySQL on my MBP for testing Web sites.
    After the 2010-005 security update I can't connect to my databases anymore.
    I don't know how to fix this, I even don't know where to start looking.
    Ideas, anyone?

    etresoft, thanks for sharing this ... I decided to go with the TriangleJuice suggestion instead for two reasons ... first is that I wasn't sure where to find this launchd file.
    There is nothing wrong with TriangleJuice's suggestion. My only issue with creating a php.ini file is that now I have to worry about all those other settings in the ini file. If something else in PHP breaks, I have to figure out if I am the one who broke it.
    Apple ships MySQL with MacOS X Server. They probably adjusted the PHP settings to match how they have MySQL setup in MacOS X Server.
    For MySQL's, no, Sun's - drat! no, Oracle's part, they still haven't acknowledged the fact that Apple has shipped MacOS X 10.4. MySQL still ships with a Startup Item. If you don't know where the launchd file is, it is because you don't have one. You probably have a MySQL entry in /Library/StartupItems or maybe /System/Library/StartupItems. Startup Items were deprecated in 10.4. Oracle should be creating a file named com.mysql.mysqld.plist in /Library/LaunchDaemons.
    Here is what mine looks like now:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>KeepAlive</key>
    <true/>
    <key>Label</key>
    <string>com.mysql.mysqld</string>
    <key>ProgramArguments</key>
    <array>
    <string>/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld</string>
    <string>--socket=/var/mysql/mysql.sock</string>
    <string>--basedir=/usr/local/mysql</string>
    <string>--datadir=/usr/local/mysql/data</string>
    <string>--user=mysql</string>
    <string>--log-error=/usr/local/mysql/data/Pele.local.err</string>
    <string>--pid-file=/usr/local/mysql/data/Pele.local.pid</string>
    </array>
    <key>RunAtLoad</key>
    <true/>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    I also don't have a /var/mysql directory and wasn't sure whether I should just create one or if this meant my configuration was different. If you feel like explaining any of this, I'd be curious to know.
    You have to create one. Such a directory probably already exists on MacOS X Server. Just make sure it is owned by mysql.
    sudo mkdir /var/mysql
    sudo chown _mysql:staff /var/mysql
    sudo chmod 0755 /var/mysql
    [jdaniel@Pele:516] /var $ ls -al /private/var | grep mysql
    drwxr-xr-x 3 _mysql staff 102 Aug 26 20:03 mysql
    Of course, /var is a symbolic link to /private/var. Long story there.

  • Using LIMIT function in PHP/MySQL Dreamweaver RecordSet

    I want to have a record set that skips the first record, and shows the next three. I've found several suggestions online to use the LIMIT function, but I keep getting "error in SQL syntax." What am I missing?
    mysql_select_db($database_adventcms, $adventcms);
    $query_rsSideNews = "SELECT * FROM tb_news LIMIT 1, 3 WHERE status = 'Live' ORDER BY `date` DESC";
    $rsSideNews = mysql_query($query_rsSideNews, $adventcms) or die(mysql_error());
    $row_rsSideNews = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsSideNews);
    $totalRows_rsSideNews = mysql_num_rows($rsSideNews);

    And there we go. That's the reason I need to go through PHP/MySQL training rather than relying on google searches!

  • Date (date and time) with MySQL, register here!

    Hi,
    Summary:
    I have a page (form) to capture attendance. It works, it allows user to enter their attendance details. On click, it writes to the database - table. The date is not captured on the form. There are several ways. One is to get the date from the php time() function and use that in your insert statement. Another is to use MySQL CURDATE() function. But probably the easiest and best is to simply define the default value for the date/time column as the current date/time and exclude it from the insert statement. No code changes necessary.

  • I need help with DW, PHP & MySQL please.

    Hello, I am new to website development and am trying to set up a form for collecting data on my website and have a question that I can’t find an answer to anywhere else. I was wandering if someone there would be kind enough to help?  I am using Dreamweaver in CS4 and my host already has PHP & MySQL installed on the server that I can use.  My question is: Do I need to download XAMP or WAMP on my computer before trying to connect my form to the server?  Also, do I need to change the page I am putting the form on to .PHP extension or can I just embed the PHP form into an existing HTML page?
    Most of the training tutorials I’ve read don’t start at the most basic beginning but rather expect people to already have a basic knowledge of the topics they are trying to learn.  If anyone knows the best place to get answers to the most basic questions like this one or a beginners guide to working with DW, PHP & MySQL I will gladly go there rather than waste your time on questions you’ve probably already answered a bezillion times.
    Thank you for the help.

    Strictly speaking, you don't need XAMPP or WAMP on your local computer. But if you're serious about getting involved with PHP/MySQL, you should definitely set up a local testing environment with one or the other. It's safer and more efficient. Don't expose all your errors on a live server. You can find instructions on  how to set up a testing environment here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setting_up_php.html.
    To develop with PHP, you should always use a .php file name extension. Any other choice is very rare.
    There's a tutorial on building your first dynamic website with DW here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/first_dynamic_site_pt1.html.
    For more in-depth help, you might want to consider grabbing hold of a copy of "The Essential Guide to Dreamweaver CS4 with CSS, Ajax, and PHP". (Yes, I wrote it, so it's a bit of shameless self-promotion, but you'll find it answers many of your questions - and probably a lot you hadn't even thought of.)

  • Php mysql math error when using format(somenumber,2)

    osx 10.5.2, php 5.2.5, mysql 5.0.51 (standard leopard desktop os install)
    Select format(myField,2) as someNumber from myTable ...
    returns data i would expect, formatted as you would expect.
    while looping through the data returned i am calculating a running total.
    for numeric values less than 1,000 results are expected. for numbers gt 1000, php seems to want to truncate the value at the comma. 1,111.11 evaluates to 1; 25,000 evaluates to 25.
    If you remove the format() from the sql statement everything works the way you would expect.
    wrapping the value returned in a floatval() had no effect.
    I am posting this on the apple site rather than php/mysql forums on the off chance that this is a mac centric issue. googling the obvious combinations wasn't productive.

    Sounds like a locale issue.
    Many international formats use comma as the decimal separator, not the thousands.
    There are many levels where this could be set. It could be an OS setting (you don't say where you or, or the locale information of your machine (System Preferences -> International -> Format). It could be in PHP (see: http://www.php.net/setlocale ), or it could be in the database (data could be written in a comma-based table).
    It will take a little research to work out where your specific problem lies.
