Date rule : XML input clarifiction

Hi all
Could you pls help me understanding the following XML query in the date rule in my SAP system.Iam more focused on the part which starts from VarTimeExp till VarDuraExp....Could you guys xplain me where to get those attributes from .Are they data elements from some table??
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<TimeRule>
<TimeRuleSource>
<ruleline>
<AssignTimeExp>
<VarTimeExp name="RESULT" position='F'/>
<MoveTimeExp direction="+">
<VarTimeExp name="CSCREATDATE" position='F'/>
<VarDuraExp name="CSDURATION"/>
</MoveTimeExp>
</AssignTimeExp>
</ruleline>
</TimeRuleSource>
</TimeRule>
Thanks

Hi,
This is the date rule where the logic is written to add the duration CSDURATION to the date type CSCREATDATE.
You will find the date type and duration in the date profile.

Hi,
Your error message are not displaying because u does not made Message-Resoucrce property file (Resource Bundle) when you make it .
give it entry in
struts-config.xml
<message-resources parameter="ApplicationResources" />
and
define key and corresponding error message to key in this ApplicationResources i.e
#Error Resources
label.search.ssNum=Plz Enter correct ssNum

Hi
I'm using OSM 7.2.0.3 and I have cartridge with an Order Recognition Rule, with its Order Data Rule (inside Transformation tab)

return
$moli/LineItemAttributeInfo/LineItemAttribute
</Order>
</_root>

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Hi,
I just corrected two lines of your XQuery
xquery version "1.0";
declare namespace ord="http://xmlns.oracle.com/communications/ordermanagement";
declare namespace im="http://m1.com.sg/bcc/osm/com/ordermain";
declare namespace xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema";
declare variable $ord :=  fn:root(.)/ord:CreateOrder/im:Order;

return

Hey , after got a lot of success with the xml reading part , i wonder if you
can help me with a problem while trying to reading that xml from a web service.
i use a procedure as followes:
FUNCTION read_from_web_service(in_username in varchar2 , in_password in varchar2)
RETURN CHAR
AS
l_service          UTL_DBWS.service;
l_call             UTL_DBWS.call;
l_a_ns                     VARCHAR2(32767);
l_wsdl_url         VARCHAR2(32767);
l_namespace        VARCHAR2(32767);
l_service_qname    UTL_DBWS.qname;
l_port_qname       UTL_DBWS.qname;
l_operation_qname  UTL_DBWS.qname;
l_xmltype_in       SYS.XMLTYPE;
l_xmltype_out      SYS.XMLTYPE;
l_return           VARCHAR2(32767);
BEGIN
l_wsdl_url        := 'http://www.company.com/publisherService/ServiceGetpublisherTable.asmx?wsdl';
l_namespace       := 'http://tempuri.org/';
l_service_qname   := UTL_DBWS.to_qname(l_namespace, 'ServiceGetpublisherTable');
l_port_qname      := UTL_DBWS.to_qname(l_namespace, 'ServiceGetpublisherTableSoap');
l_operation_qname := UTL_DBWS.to_qname(l_namespace, 'GetFieldsName');
l_service := UTL_DBWS.create_service (
wsdl_document_location => URIFACTORY.getURI(l_wsdl_url),
service_name           => l_service_qname);
l_call := UTL_DBWS.create_call (
service_handle => l_service,
port_name      => l_port_qname,
operation_name => l_operation_qname);
l_xmltype_in := SYS.XMLTYPE('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<GetFieldsName xmlns="' || l_namespace || '">
<user>' || in_username || '</user>

</GetFieldsName>');
l_xmltype_out := UTL_DBWS.invoke(call_Handle => l_call,
request     => l_xmltype_in);
UTL_DBWS.release_call (call_handle => l_call);
UTL_DBWS.release_service (service_handle => l_service);
l_return := l_xmltype_out.extract('//GetFieldsName/text()').getstringVal();
dbms_output.put_line(l_return);
RETURN l_return;
END;but when i run it i got message:
ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: javax.xml.rpc.soap.SOAPFaultException: Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: .
regarding the line:
l_xmltype_out := UTL_DBWS.invoke(call_Handle => l_call,

So , i deeply stuck here!

• Problem converting data in XML file to internal table data

Hi all,
I have a requirement. I need to convert an XML file to internal table data and based on that data do Goods Receipt in SAP.
With the help of this blog /people/r.eijpe/blog/2005/11/10/xml-dom-processing-in-abap-part-i--convert-an-abap-table-into-xml-file-using-sap-dom-approach
I am able to convert the XML file to data in SAP. But this blog will display the output on screen as ELELEMNT = nodename VALUE= value of that node.
But I donu2019t want in that way, I want to store all the data in XML file in an internal table so that I can make use of those values and do Goods Recipt in SAP.
Can some one suggest how should I read the data in an internal table.
Here is my code..what changes should I make?

• Using variables in data rules

Hi,
I have set-up a data transfer mechanism between serveral Essbase cubes that uses on the source cube a report script to generate a file and on the target cube imports this text file using a data rule file.
The current problem I'm encountering is that it does not seem to be possible to limit down the transfer to a single period. In the report script, there's no issue because that is recognizing the server variable easily.
But on the import side I have not found a method to have a single column dynamically writing into current period only. Is there no other option than someone going into this rules file and change the hardcoded fieldname each month?
Thanks for any input
Erik
Belgium

You can use substitution variables in version 9 of Essbase but not in earlier versions. Before v9 we'd get around this by using aliases e.g. CurrMonth. Each new month we'd move the alias to the next month.
"But on the import side I have not found a method to have a single column dynamically writing into current period only"
I'm assuming that you've created a text column here and filled it with a month value? It would be better to not have a month column and just set the month in the Header of the Data Load Settings.
Hope this helps.

• Parse XML input stream (no .xml file)?

i have a java applet calling a web service that returns XML data as an input stream (char by char from SOAP) to this applet. if i append a all the chars to a string, is there some XML tool that will parse the string as if it were an XML document (like a getElement functions)?
the applet cannot write the data to a .xml file, and i don't want to mess around with .jarsigning. any ideas?
thanks,
jonathan

The XML parsers you are likely to be using support receiving input from a variety of sources besides files. For example you could parse XML from a String variable by passing a StringReader wrapping that String to the parser. Check the documentation for more details.

• Problem in sending XML input as String in BPEL

Hi,
We have a BPEL flow (assign, invoke, assign) which takes an XML input as String.
<RegisterCustomerOnVAS><CustomerID>100</CustomerID><MSISDN>9999999</MSISDN><CustomerName>sanjeev</CustomerName><customerInfo>new user</customerInfo></RegisterCustomerOnVAS>
Assignment is doing fine, but when Invoke calls partner link, the input is getting parsed and only the first text value (eg 100) is getting passed to the partner webservice instead of the entire XML as string.
Can any one please help us in fixing in this problem.
Thanks

Hi,
You should watch your assign activity (maybe a bad assigment level in copy rule). I think the probem is there.

Your PL/SQL code doesn't produce a valid XML document.
In the XML grammar, "&" is a special character and must be escaped using the character entity "&".
If you were using standard methods to build XML from Oracle (SQL/XML functions for instance), I'm sure you wouldn't have this error.
Please show us the PL/SQL code you're using to produce this XML output and we'll be able to help you further.
