Date shows timestamp with cast function

hi,
i am entering date from java to oracle, when i used CAST function to convert as TIMESTAMP it shows the correct time in ONE DB environment.
But the same date not showing proper time in another DB environment.
It always shows 12.00.00.000000
shall i want to set any values in db level.

In my table I have 2 columns:
event_state : integer (0 = unread, 1 = read)
min_process_time : date
In the DB-Adapter-Wizard I can configure my event_state-Field for using as logical delete field. In the SQL-Query there is a
... WHERE event_state=0
But, I only want to query all new entries in this table, where
min_process_time > SYSDATE.
How can I configure my toplink-mapping, that SYSDATE can be used in the polling-query? If I use plain-sql instead of the expression from the Wizard (last page), then this sql-statement is ignored. In an expression I only can use a constant-value.
Any idea?

I am creating a database Polling (logical delete OPEN to CLOSED) adapter that polls a table for records which have a "SCHEDULED" date field.
The Polling Adapter should pick up those records where the status is OPEN and SCHEDULED<=SYSDATE.
DB Adapter wizard does not allows this where clause(SCHEDULED<=SYSDATE) to be set; so i tried modifying the Toplink SQL with custom SQL. But it does not works. Please suggest a workaround.

Having Problems with CAST Function

Hey Guys;
I need to write an SQL statement that does a cast or some type of conversion from a number to a string.
I have tried a number of things and can't get it to work.
Here's what i currently have:
SELECT *
FROM TABLE1
WHERE COLUMN1 = CAST(12345678 AS STRING)
I've tried using CHAR and VARCHAR2 instead of string and it still doesn't work. When i use VARCHAR2 it says i'm missing a left parenthesis and when i use CHAR it says data value out of range. That doesn't make sense to me, because if i put the same value in quotes, it runs fine.
Hope someone can help me out.

You should specify the size of varchar2, to which you like to cast.

How to show timestamp along with date in LOV dropdown

Hi,
We have a requirement to show timestamp along with date as a display column in a LOV drop down. Type of the date column in VVO is set to timestamp. But still it is showing only date in the UI.
But it is showing timestamp when we run it through AM. Is there any thing in to do in addition to display it in UI? Or it is not feasible? Please suggest me on this issue.

The date format displayed in UI depends on applcore preference set for current user, try changing date format set for current user to include time along with date.

You've hit what was intended to be an internal development warning, but apparently the warning macro used is not compiled out in the release.
This has likely been there since TestStand 1.0 and is nothing to worry about. In most cases it indicates you've called SetPropertyObject or SetPropertyObjectByOffset to set an object that was already set in the specified location. This is a harmless NOP and the warning only appears in attached debuggers, but it "might" be an indication that you have made a programming error.
I launched and exited the 4.0 sequence editor without seeing this warning, so I don't know if it is being triggered by your code module (or sequence, or custom step type, or custom UI, or custom process model, ...) or another part of TestStand that you are using. Chances are good that this warning does not indicate a functional problem. However, if you can reproduce it with a clean uncustomized TestStand install, I'd like to know how you did it.
I've entered a corrective action request to remove this warning.

I have a stored procedure which lists the employees using above simple query.
Here I am using table CAST function to find the list of employees in one go
instead of looping through each and every employee
Everything fine until requirements forced me to get the FOUND_FLAG as well.
Now I wanted derive the FOUND_FLAG by using rownum, rowid, decode functions
but I was not successful
Can you please suggest if there is any intelligent way to say weather the
row is found for given parameters in the where clause?
If not I may have to loop through each set of empIdList, countriesList
and find the values individually just to set a flag. In this approach I can’t use
the TABLE CAST function which is efficient I suppose.
Note that query STRING_ARRAY is an VARRAY. It is very big in size and this procedure
suppose to handle large sets of data.

If your query returns results, you have found them... so your "FOUND" flag might be a constant,...

Upload data from excel with vba by calling a function module

Hello all,
i have a problem with the function module "ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE". I will call this function module with vba to load data from excel to sap with a Buttonclick. I have copied this function module and set it remotable. But i can´t call it from excel.
Can you give me some tips how can i
upload data from excel with vba by click a button.
The problem seems the function: call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>clipboard_import in the function module, because when i comment this function call the vba-call is true but no results.
How can I call the function module correct with vba?

I have a new IPAD4 which has synced pictures i selected but not music or films i selected from itunes library? I have had an account for years and never had issues syncing with iphone or ipod? when i attempt ipad the data shows and it cycles but nothing?

show the data shows whe i selet for sync (i have ticked sync only ticked icon) and selected two playlists - the data usage shows an extra 3.2 gb off my 32g ipad and the movies show up purple on the data usage bar, i press apply / sync it takes 20mins to go through 5 stages - never once do i see a song title or number in the update display. then when it finishes the data usage bar goes back to the lower amount before i tried to add the music and movies to my ipad?? The only thing that i have managed to move if pictures??
Im confused, ive always got on fine with moving, updating and syncing my iphone, ipod touch, have done this the same way but NO music or films
when i go through the summary section it says i have selected 757 songs (off two playlists) and i movie (from a digital copy via itunes), they show in usage bar b4 sync but then after sync nothing! i have tried both wi fi sync and normal, i have the lastest updates and CANT FIGURE THIS OUT
When i set up the ipad out the box the other day it asked whether i wanted a NEW INSTALL or RESTORE FROM ICLOUD BACKUP (presumbly off iphone), I choose restore, it then downloaded all the apps and web history/bookmarks etc, although it took about 8 hours to do it which i thought was odd?!
Ive spent £500 on this and if i cant put my msuc or movies on it that makes it a very exspensive web browser, APPLE this should be easier .......! please help - im no techno noob beither grand master, just your average user so im sure people might know what to do... i freakin hope so!

If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.

I have an Iphone 5 and a nano that are still functioning with Itunes thru computer so I'm thinking the issue is with the Ipod touch. I've reset it several times, rebooted it, with no change.
nothing on the internet has helped, I called tech support and got disconnected. Should I take it to a retail store? I just don't know where to go next, I'm of course willing to pay for tech or repair. looking for suggestions.

How to show Date and Time with TimeZone

I have to show Date and Time with TimeZone abbreviation,
for example:
1) 31 March 2011 2:30 in india standard time - it should show in screen 31 March 2011 2:30 IST.
2) 31 March 2011 2:30 in Australia/New Zealand - Eastern time zone it should show in screen 31 March 2011 2:30 AEST.
how can i show *Australia/New Zealand - Eastern time zone to AEST*,
I tried with format DD MMM YYYY HH:MM zzz, and i looked time zone API too.

Thus you have one single case where there can be many and moreover it can change (twice a year I believe.)

If the app only needs to display one zone then provide a configuration value that allows a user to overload the display value.
If the app needs to display many values then you MUST inform business users of the problem because there are duplicates and they, not you, need to decide specifically what happens in those cases.

Everything you do affect performance. How significantly is a question answered by testing not by asking questions on an OTN forum.
Create a loop doing it 10,000 times and find out.
And, in the future, always include your version number.

TimeStamp with time zone vs java Date

In the developer's preview release notes, I read about the extended support on Oracle TimeStamp. We are currently planning to migrate current TIMESTAMP columns to TIMESTAMP WITH TIMEZONE to keep the user time zone with the typed date. Here is my question: Which time zone is persisted using a direct to field mapping between a java.util.Date and a TIMESTAMPTZ column? As the java.util.Date contains no time zone (in opposition to java.util.Calendar), does TopLink uses the JVM time zone? WHat is the best to data structure to keep date/time & time zone in our entities? Thanks, Yannick.

I believe it would be the local timezone of the session. If you map a Date to the TIMESTAMP TZ then the SQL written out will not include a TZ value.
Typically if you wish to map to a TIMESTAMPTZ field you would want to use an object in the model that can hold both the Timestamp and TZ values. This is most commonly a Calendar.

Hotfixes show up with no date for "date installed"?

Any reason why none of our patches show up with an installed date after
August of 2008 (I think that's when I had last updated the ZAM server,
but two weeks ago I applied the latest patch and PRU for ZAM 7.5)
However, on all the machines, when I look at Hotfixes, I see a bunch of
KB patches that have no installed date, even though I know they have
been installed in the last 3 weeks.

Data source Enhancement with Function Module

Hi all!
I have a requirement like I have to enhance my Generic Data source.
Let me make it clear!
I have 10 field in R/3 which I am able to get into extract structure using Generic Data Source on the corresponding Table.
I have another field on my extract structure, say ZEXMFLD1 which is updated by a function module ZZ_FUNC_MODULE_SAMPLE.
I came to know that Data source Enhancement can be done, but don't know how.
Request your guidance in this. Can u please let me know how I can achieve this?

You can enhance generic datasources also.
For that you have to use below function modules based on your datasource type.

First check in CMOD(TCODE) whether component RSAP0001 is assigned to any project. If it is not assigned to any project(fresh system), assign it to a project by creating it.
Ex. ZBW. If it is already assigned, go SE37.
For transaction data go to function module EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001(Trans data) and start your logic.
CASE i_datasource.
WHEN 'your data source name'.
call you Function module - CALL 'ZZ_FUNC_MODULE_SAMPLE'.
pass the imported value from above FM to c_t_data.
close case with ENDCASE.

Update DSO with planning function independently from saving data in realtim

Dear all,
I have an realtime cube which will be loaded via planning function and/or data entry queries.
In order to track the entries, I store all companies with status in a DSO objects, by using a planning fuction which calls a function module and inserts entries in the DSO table. The planning function will be start by clicking a button in a web application.
For example: A company enters data. The value will be stored in the realtime cube and the DSO entry will be created with company xyz and status 1.
Sometime it is necessary to create a status entry in the DSO without entering data in the realtime cube. ( In order to provide an other department to enter data in during status 1).
In this case the planning function which calls the function module in order to insert entries in DSO is not working because there is no data exchange with the realtime cube.
How can I change DSO entries independently from writing data in a realtime cube or not.
Any help would be great.

i have one planning function which copies data from one version to another within the cube and another planning function (type fox) which calls up an ABAP function module in order to update my status DSO. see below:
DATA FISCYEAR TYPE 0FISCYEAR.
DATA COMPANY TYPE ZMCOMPANY.
FISCYEAR = OBJV( ).
COMPANY = OBJV( ).
CALL FUNCTION Z_FM_SEND_FOR_APP_PLAN_C01
EXPORTING
I_COMPANY = COMPANY
I_FISCYEAR = FISCYEAR.
normal way:
User enters data via query and sends data to headquarters (1. planning functions copy from version 1 to 2 and second planning functions changes status in DSO from 1 to 2.) This works.
not normal way, but somethis necessary:
User does not malke any entries, and headquarters wants to change the status via an own web application. In this case the first planning function runs, but no data were copied because there are no entries. So far thats ok, but at least the second pölanning function should run and change the status in the DSO from 1 to 2. And exacltly this is not working. I suppose that the reason is, that there are no data in the cube.
Any ideas would be great.
