Dates not preserved properly in Aperturre File iPhoto

I want to batch adjust image date and time in Aperture.
Problem 1...
I use "Select All" and "Adjust Date and Time..." but Aperture only changes the date of 1 or 2 correctly. The rest are close but off by a few seconds, minutes, hours or sometimes days. It seems pretty random. As a result, I have to change then individually.
Problem 2...
I export Aperture projects to a folder/file structure, then import them into iPhoto. However, the dates I set on some of the older photos were not preserved across to iPhoto. It seems to preserve the day and month (mostly), but not the year and time. Newer photos (taken with my DSLR or P&S) keep their correct "image date" when transferred across to iPhoto. I have tried with "Also change master files" selected and unselected.
I can't understand this strange behavior.
The end problem for me is that my iPhoto Events are not displayed in correct chronological order. I know I can "Adjust Date and Time..." in iPhoto but I like to use Aperture 2 as my primary photo management tool, since I use it for professional photography as well. I keep a master family photo album in Aperture. I don't want to do any "management" in iPhoto. I want the import from Aperture to iPhoto be quick and accurate.

Washed away with time.

  • Data not visible properly in PDF file

    Hi all,
    I am getting some data from a Smartform which is being converted into PDF. This PDF is sent in a mail to a team. Some of the PDF data is appearing differently for different users (say, for one the data is appearing as bold italics instead of normal font, for others some small-small boxes are appearing instead of the required data). So, please tell me what setting is missed out here?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

  • File Monitor - Not working properly on SMB file share

    The "File Monitor" does not trigger on SMB file share, i think this might be a bug.
    I have tried the same "File Monitor" on a windows share, and it works like intended. However, when I use the same runbook on a Solaris SMB share, it does not trigger properly. It triggers when I delete or rename a file, but not any thing else (like
    create, changed, etc) I have turned all the triggers on just to see what actually makes it trigger...
    I'm using specified authentication (domain user and password)
    The SMB folder is shared on a Solaris (SunOS 5.10).
    Can anyone confirm that they also have this problem?
    Is there a patch to fix this? Thanks.

    Can someone please verify that they also have this problem?
    Thanks.

  • Source Timecode not preserved when making AC3 file

    First of all, this is my first time using Compressor so it is very likely that I have overlooked the obvious!
    I have created an AC3 Dolby Digital file in 5.1 from 6 wav files.
    All has gone well and I can successfully create the file and play it back, when reimported, via the preview window.
    My original 6 wav files all contain identical source timecodes.
    The resulting AC3 file does not appear to have preserved the source timecode.
    The preview window displays the timecode as starting from 00.00.00.00
    I have also imported the AC3 file into Final Cut Pro and confirmed that the timecode starts at Zero.
    My six original WAV files definitely have timecode.
    I cannot find any setting in Compressor that will let me alter the resulting file's timecode.
    If anybody could tell me what I have done wrong I would be very grateful.
    Thanks in advance
    Adam

    Having done a bit more investigation, I have found that AC3 files can have timecode embedded in them.
    Unfortunately Compressor does not preserve the source timecode but writes it's own, starting at 00.00.00.00
    Dolby Media Encoder SE (from Dolby) does give you the ability to preserve the source timecode - as do a couple of other programs - but they tend to be very expensive!
    I am not sure but I think that Final Cut Pro does not recognise the source timecode of an AC3 file - maybe that's why the option is not given in Compressor ?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    What version of LabVIEW and of Microsoft Office are you using? I recommend that you use the latest version of both, since I found a few references about this error occurring with older versions of LabVIEW. Also, there are some example VIs that ship with LabVIEW for communicating with Excel through ActiveX...have you tried those examples to see if they work? If they work, there might be a problem with your implementation of the ActiveX functions in your program.
    I hope one of these suggestions helps. Please let me know if you continue to have any problems.
    Good luck, and have a pleasant day.

  • Finder data not being written to .DS_Store file

    The symptom of the problem I am experiencing is that the position of icons on my desktop (as well as icons in other folders in my home directory, as well as Finder window settings for folder in my home directory) are lost every time I log out. On a subsequent login, all of the icons "reflow" starting from the top right corner of the screen, just below the boot volume icon. I have been able to determine that this has to do with the .DS_Store file(s) in the Desktop folder and other folders of my home directory. If a .DS_Store file exists, the timestamp does not change when I change the icon layout and logout. If I delete the .DS_Store file, it is not re-created.
    In my case, my home directory (and the child Desktop folder) is being mounted off an SMB share on a Windows 2003 server. My Mac is using AD authentication to the same Windows 2003 server, which is the domain controller. I'm logging in with my AD credentials, and my home directory mapping is picked up from the home directory field in AD.
    Now, Googling this problem, I found a lot of people complaining about wanting to suppress the use/creation of the .DS_Store files on Windows network volumes. This led to an Apple KB article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1629) on how to modify a default to prevent the creation of .DS_Store files on network volumes--essentially the very behavior I am experiencing. The upshot of the KB article is to us the following command in terminal:
    *defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true*
    I did a 'defaults read' to confirm this default isn't set on my install of Mac OS X 10.5.6--and it isn't. I then tried using the following variation in the hope I could force the behavior I wanted:
    *defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores false*
    Predictably, this had to effect.
    The upshot is, NONE of the Finder data for files and folders in my home directory (icon positions, Finder view window defaults, etc.) is preserved between logons. And this is driving me nuts! I've spent several hours over the past two evening trying to troubleshoot this, and I've had no luck.
    As a footnote, I'll mention that if I drag a folder from my home directory onto the local hard disk, the .DS_Store file is created/updated and things behave as expected (icon position and Finder window defaults are preserved). But, if I then drag the folder back over to my home directory, the values in the .DS_Store file become "frozen" and don't change.

    Hey, try this:
    1.
    Put a file in a folder on your Desktop.
    Edit: not your Desktop, but rather a typical local home on an HFS+ volume ~/Desktop
    2.
    Use "Get Info" to add a "Comment".
    The comment can be up to somewhere between 700 and 800 characters.
    3.
    Copy the folder to a FAT formatted flash drive, SMB share, etc.
    4.
    Create a new folder on the flash drive.
    5.
    Move the file from the first folder to the second folder.
    Confirm that the "Finder" shows the comment to be there.
    6.
    Quit the "Finder" - in 10.4 and earlier, this action would ensure that all .DS_Store files get updated, including transfer of comments. I.e. don't "relaunch" or "kill", etc. Enable and user the "Quit" menu, or use:<pre>
    osascript -e 'tell application "Finder" to quit</pre>
    7.
    Now where's the comment?
    In step 2, you could also have just created a file on the non-HFS volume and wasted your time typing in a 700 character comment.
    In step 6, a more real-world scenario is ejecting the drive or logging out, but deliberately quitting the "Finder" is the most conservative way to ensure that changes get written to .DS_Store files and comments survive. In 10.5.6, even under these conditions, comments are lost.
    Icon positions and view preferences are one thing, but with comments - that's real user-inputted data that Apple is playing fast and loose with. And if they no longer support comments on non-HFS volumes, the "Finder" shouldn't be showing you the comments when you double-check them in step 5, or allow them to be added in the alternate version of step 2.
    ..."C'mon Apple... what gives here?"...
    Unfortunately, this "Discussions" site is not frequented by Apple devs. Have you considered filing a bug report? I wonder what they would tell you, eg. if the treatment of .DS_Store files actually does turn out to be a bug or is intentional as it suspiciously seems...

  • Why does GPS data not sync to my iPhone from iPhoto?

    Hi guys,
    I synced all my photos from my iPhone to iPhoto and deleted them off my iPhone. I then created albums on iPhoto and synced them back to my iPhone. For some reason the GPS data wasn't carried over - even though I can confirm it is there as I can see it in iPhoto.. Any ideas?

    Hey there 2Chainz,
    It sounds like youre being prompted that there is not enough space. I would use the following article to help resolve the issue named:
    iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1503
    Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
    Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
    Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
    If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
    Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
    Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
    Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
    Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
    If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Data not aligned properly

    Here's my rtf structure
    group-by Product
    <there's a table in here>
    for-each Company

    for-each Community
    <there's a table in here>
    Data appear as below

    Right now, the Community C table header for example, will be on page 1 and its table will be on page 2 because its table does not fit on page 1.  So I selected for-each Community then paragraph -> Line and Page Breaks -> Keep with Next.  Then it works but the data appears as below
    Page 1
    Computer
    <there's a table in here>
    Company 1000

    <THERE A BIG BLANK SPACE HERE>

    <there's a table in here>
    Community B
    <there's a table in here>
    Community C
    <there's a table in here>
    The Community Headers stay with their tables but there's a big blank space between a Community A and Company 1000
    I did the same Keep with Next with for-each Company and same result, I did it for group-by Product and same result, big blank space
    How can we make it so data will flow with each other and if a table header (Product or Company or Community) does not fit on a page then it will go to the next page please?

    Thanks Kavipriya for your help. The report shows data properly now.
    Thanks Nagireddy for your offer.

  • Room Data not getting exported to excel file

    Hello,
    I am facing a small issue regarding collaboration rooms.
    I created some Rooms and Created few Tasks in each room. I tried to export the task details in a excel file. For most of the rooms it is working fine but for few rooms either data is not getting exported or some data is missing in the generated excel file.I am working on EP 7.0  and all the rooms are created from the same user.
    What could be the possible reason for such a behaviour ?  Kindly Help me with this.

    i believe you can use GUI_DOWNLOAD simply for this purpose.
    CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
      EXPORTING
        FILENAME                        = 'c:\abc.xls'
       FILETYPE                        = 'ASC'
       WRITE_FIELD_SEPARATOR           = 'X'
    TABLES
        DATA_TAB                        = ITAB
    it will work, i believe.

  • Thumbnails do not link properly to original file

    The following has been happening to me for a long time now (through previous system software, previous versions of iPhoto). I finally have gotten fed up and would like some help.
    When I drag a photo (from a directory in a second internal drive) into the Photos Library or directly into an album, it imports fine - thumbnail is there, etc. But when I double click the file, it says:
    "Alert: The photo “P0000273.JPG” could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found."
    I think this has something to do with the way I load photos into my Mac. I take the card out of the camera and put it into a card reader. The card reader shows up as a drive on my desktop, then I move the photos from there onto my internal drive. When I drag the photos into iPhoto, I drag them from the location on my internal drive, but somehow I think it thinks that they are still on the card reader, and because the card is usually not in the reader, it cannot find the file.
    I have been dealing with this by manually finding the file that matches the thumbnail, since my iPhoto album organization mirrors the folder organization on my hard drive. I want to fix this.

    Thanks. Now I can see where these shortcuts are pointing to. They are not pointing to the camera card like I thought, they are pointing to a wrong name for the internal hard drive that the original pix are located on. I am not totally sure, but I dont think I ever titled the volume by that name (it is close to but not the same as the current name). I am a little puzzled about this. I am going to try reimporting these pix to a sample album and see if that fixes the problem (ie, the aliases in the iPhoto library point to the correct volume). If that works, I will have to delete all pictures from my iPhoto Library, and then reimport them into the appropriate albums, right?
    I just tried importing. Now this is really screwed up. Immediately upon importing a photo I got the message: "The volume for [name of photo] cannot be found. Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again." That is ridiculous, the drive is sitting right on my desktop; I just dragged a photo from it into iPhoto.
    By the way, the drive I am dragging from is a partition of an internal drive, but of course it functions as a normal drive and shows up on the destktop as such, etc.

  • Macron & underdot entities coded in OEB file does not showup properly in epub file

    "A" macron entity coded as "&#257" and "N" underdot entity coded as "n&#803" and "d" underdot entities coded as "&#803d&#803" are not showing up properly in the epub files but they display properly in the OEB file (HTML display). Please advise. Does epub provide support to these entities?

    Hi Subhash,
    You have to create at your own, take any decimal list of entities and open its .epub file in ADE, you will see the question marks against entities, these are the entities which are not supported by .epub.
    Need any further help, reply me.

  • Spry data not displaying properly (IE Runtime Error)

    Built a few pages for a site using Spry to pull in some XML
    pages.
    They are supposed to update when a certain selection is
    chosen and it works flawlessly in Firefox, Opera and Safari but not
    in IE.
    IE just shows the SPRY placeholders and doesn't push any XML
    data into the fields.
    I tried to run the browser compatibility and cleaned up
    anything that may be affecting it but nothing is showing an error.
    The weird thing is, the page has a total of 585 lines but IE
    is saying there is an 'Unknown Runtime Error' on the page at Line:
    1163 Char: 4.
    does the browser continue to count lines as it pulls in
    additional information from attached files (like external css,
    javascripts, xml, etc.)?
    If so, how do I find out where the error is?
    i'm pounding my head against the wall trying to solve this,
    but i'm not having much luck.
    basically, i'm looking for two things:
    How to find the error in the code.
    How to FIX the code to work in IE.
    any help would be greatly appreciated.
    I posted this over in the DW forums, but thought it might be
    beter solved over here in the SPRY forums.
    TIA!

    repeat in the same tag.
    Fix that and then try it.
    How do I use both detail regions and master regions in a spry
    div then?
    my whole problem was, I couldn't get the menu items into the
    same table as the detail regions.
    If I put the whole table into a spry detail region it would
    just read the menu items as a detail region and give me static
    data. and if I did it as a standard region, the stuff I wanted to
    update wouldn't show as a detail region.
    I tried to keep them in <span> tags within the table
    but I guess IE doesn't like that.
    When I try to insert a detail region within an already
    existing DIV tagged spry region I get the DW error "
    Spry does not support nesting of spry:region blocks.
    Obviously, I must be missing something.
    it's been a long time since I built sites from scratch
    (99-00), but because my company asked, it is now my project.
    I have to relearn stuff and am not 100% familiar w/ building
    using DIV, SPAN and CSS. I have the basics; just enough to get me
    into trouble. maybe it's time to go back through the Spry

  • Opening PDF files using preview on some PDF file result in the content not displaying properly. The file I tried to look at has pictures and text. The pictures are displayed ok but the text is shown as pixalated boxes. The same file opens ok via a PC.

    Solutions please. Accessing PDF files online using preview normally works ok. However there are a clutch of files on the mothers union web site that although can be opened, present text as pixalated boxes. The pictures contained in the documents are however displayed OK. I experience the same problem on my Imac and my wifes laptop that runs Lion. The same site has other PDF files that can be opend OK. Yes. Word 2007. (You can see it in Preview if you do ⌘I or choose Tools > Show Inspector.) And it's the transparency issue. The three pics attached show the Jan 2012 newsletter (a) in Preview, (b) in Acrobat Pro, (c) again in Preview, after I saved it in Acrobat, flattening the transparency.
    For you, the solution is to use Adobe Reader -- with due note taken of

    For them, I don't know. Presumably, they wish max compatibility for their newsletter, but I really don't know how Office 2007 generates PDF. Maybe they should check transparency settings and flatten before generating PDF? Or perhaps save as PDF v1.4 instead of PDF v1.5? I would use Distiller, but perhaps they can't afford it.

  • Leaving Action Date not refleting properly

    Dear Expert,
    We have implementing Germany Payroll for our client. We have created the actions like - Deputation Initiation, End of Deputation which is similar to Hiring & Leaving.
    While executing End of Deputation action, system is not taking the actual date given in all the info types. For Ex : End of Deputation date is 31.08.2008. But while excecuting the action  IT0000 &  IT0001 system is taking end date as 31.08.2008. But IT0006, IT0009, IT0014 & the customised info type which we have cretaed are taking the end date as 30.08.2008.
    Please note that we need to pay salary for 31.08.2008. Please suggest how can I get froward??
    Thanks a ton in advance
    Regards,
    Damodar Pai

    Hi Damodar,
    When you are running End Of Deputation action( Leaving action); on initial PA40 screen you enter 31.8.2008 in the From field and then run the action. The system will automatically take the End Of Deputation Action Date as 1.9.2008.
    That means the Last working day date of employee is 31.8.2008 and the salary will be paid till 31.8.2008
    Check in table T529A; in the Date field entry should be 1( specified filed is end date of old records)
