DATEXPORT exporting more columns
I am trying to use the DATAEXPORT command to export data from a cube and having issues on retricting the number of columns in the out put.
For example I only want to see 5 months of data( the period dimension is a dense dimension . The other dense dimension I have is the account dimension, and all other dimensions are sparse) but I am getting more columns. It looks like if there's a block it displays the data and if there isn't a block it doesn't show the data
Here's the sample script and output. How can I always have the same number of columns in the output
As you can see sometimes there are more columns for the periods and sometimes less.I would like to always have 5 columns for the data
DATAEXPORTOVERWRITEFILE ON;
DataExportDimHeader OFF;
DataExportLevel all;
DataExportDynamicCalc OFF;
DATAEXPORTCOLFORMAT ON;
DataExportColHeader "Periods";
Fix("M1", "M2","M3","M4","M5")
FIX(@RELATIVE(Assets,0),"Global", FY2011,@relative("budget",0), @relative("others",0),"USD",@RELATIVE(VIEW,0))
DATAEXPORT "File" "," "\\ttapp\app\BUDGET\BUDGET\data.txt" ;

Thanks Amit for the feedback. I was able play with the Dataexport options and come to a conclusion.
Since I am using DataExportLevel All, and DataExportDynamicCalc off we cannot restrict the number of columns for periods , and it will show all period members, and to make sure we have same number of columns on each record we need to add DataExportRelationalFile ON;( the FIX has no effect to it)
So here are 2 possible solutions
1. If you want to show only specific periods, then you need to use , but can only show level 0
DATAEXPORTOVERWRITEFILE ON;
DataExportRelationalFile ON;
DataExportLevel LEVEL0;
DataExportDynamicCalc OFF;
2. In my case I use the following options, but it will show all periods. Just need to change the table to accomodate the new columns
DataExportLevel All;
DataExportDynamicCalc OFF;
DATAEXPORTOVERWRITEFILE ON;
DataExportRelationalFile ON;
DataExportLevel LEVEL0;
};

Export more than 253 characters from ALV column to excel
Hi
I have one problem. In internal table, i have one column which is having 2500 characters. I have to export this column in excel but i am able to export only 253 characters max from alv standard export. How can i export complete column to excel from ALV?
Regards
ManishCreate a new pf status and add a excel button in the menu. While creating new menu, use the standard SAP menu and just change the excel button. SY-UCOMM would &EXCEL. Use GUI_DOWNLOAD to download the excel or the file. It is not achievable using the standard SAP download option.

Dear Gurus,
What if i check the option export in column format while export the database?
Thanks,
SekharHi,
Adding to the John comments,
If you export the database in the column format the size of the export file will be much more than the data in the cubes.
I had an experience where I used to export the data in column format which results in a file which was
twice the size of the file without the column format.
If you have a lot of data in essbase cubes, I advice you to export data in non columnar format in order to save the disk space.
Thanks,

Unable to export more than 19 rows of data from Excel sheet
Anyone could please guide me how to export more data from excel sheet.
I tried with 50 row but only 19 rows are exported.
Appln builder==> create ==> Export from spread sheet --> Copy paste / csv export (i tried both) but i got only 19 rows.
Regards,
ManojHi Manoj,
If you're talking about the 19 rows you see while in the create wizard, that is just a sample of the data so you can see what you're working with while specifying column names, types, etc. Once you finish working in the wizard it should import all of the rows assuming there aren't any error-rows.
Hope this helps,
John

Exporting lob columns...???
Is there any limitation of exporting LOB columns from client machines. If the client's export version is lower/greater, then is it going to affect the export of lob columns?
That's a bug. And even if the structure of the version you are dealing with is compatible, the functionality isn't. I suggest you to apply a patch to the client too.
Cause
This problem during export has been introduced with the 9.2.0.5 patchset. In that patchset, a fix has been included for Bug 2948717 "Queries against DBA_SEGMENTS can be slow accessing BYTES/BLOCKS/EXTENTS columns". Note that this fix has also been implemented in Oracle10g Release 1 (10.1.0.2.0).
As a result of that fix, an export from the 9.2.0.5.0 or any higher release database (e.g. 9.2.0.6.0 or 10.1.0.4.0) with a lower release export utility, e.g. 9.2.0.4.0 or 8.1.7.4.0 will now produce the EXP-3 error. For details see:
Bug 3593227 "EXP-3 WHEN EXPORTING A TABLE WITH MORE THAN 1 EXTENT USING EXP BELOW 9.2.0.5"
Bug 3784697 "EXPORT OF LOB FROM 9205 WITH PRE-9205 EXP GIVES EXP-3 (NO STORAGE DEF FOUND)"
These bugs were closed as a duplicate of:
Bug 3291851 "EXP-3: NO STORAGE DEFINITION FOUND FOR SEGMENT" (not a public bug)
Solution
The EXP-3 error only occurs when the export from the 9.2.0.5.0 or any higher release database (e.g. 9.2.0.6.0 or 10.1.0.4.0) is done with a lower release export utility, e.g. 9.2.0.4.0. The reason to run an export from a 9.2.0.5.0
or any higher release database (e.g. 9.2.0.6.0 or 10.1.0.4.0) with a 9.2.0.4.0 export utility, is to import the export dump file later into a target database of that lower release.
Note: if your intention is to export from a 9.2.0.6.0 database in order to import (back) into a 9.2.0.6.0 target database, there is no need to use a pre-9.2.0.5 release export utility. In that situation use the 9.2.0.6.0 export utility.
Workaround 1
Rerun the export and specify the parameter COMPRESS=Y (this is the default value for COMPRESS).
If you have a table with a secondary object, e.g. a LOB column, then this workaround might not work and you will re-produce the EXP-3 error during export. In that case, use workaround 2.
Workaround 2
a. Make a note of the export definition of exu9tne from $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catexp.sql
b. Copy this to a new file and add:
"UNION ALL select * from sys.exu9tneb"
to the end of the definition
e.g. In the 9.2.0.5.0 or any higher release source database (e.g. 9.2.0.6.0 or 10.1.0.4.0), the workaround view would be:
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW exu9tne (
tsno, fileno, blockno, length) AS
SELECT ts#, segfile#, segblock#, length
FROM sys.uet$
WHERE ext# = 1
UNION ALL
SELECT * from sys.exu9tneb
c. Run this as the SYS user (!) against the database that needs to be exported.
d. Re-run the export as required.
e. Put back the original definition of exu9tne as obtained in step a.
Note: only use this workaround when absolutely necessary, and don't forget to put back the original definition of the view SYS.exu9tne as mentioned in step e. -
Received this error (The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information.) recently on a workflow that was
working fine and no changes were made to the workflow.
I have tried a few suggestions, i.e. adding a pause before any ‘Update’ action (which didn’t help because the workflow past this action without incident); checked the data type being written
to the fields (the correct data types are being written); and we even checked the list schema to ensure the list names and the internal names are aligned (they
are), but we still cannot figure out why the workflow is still throwing this error.
We located the area within the workflow step where it is failing and we inserted a logging action to determine if the workflow would execute the logging action but it did not, but wrote the same error message.
The workflow is a Reusable Approval workflow designed in SharePoint Designer 2010 and attached to a content type.
The form associated with the list was modified in InfoPath 2010.
Approvers would provide their approval in the InfoPath form which is then read by the workflow.
Side note - items created after the workflow throws this Unknown Error some seem to be working fine.
We have deleted the item in question and re-added it with no effect.
Based on what we were able to determine there don’t seem to be any consistency with how this issue is behaving.
Any suggestions on how to further investigate this issue in order to find the root cause would be greatly appreciated?
CheersHi,
I understand that the reusable workflow doesn’t work properly now. Have you tried to remove the Update list item action to see whether the workflow can run without issue?
If the workflow runs perfectly when the Update list item action is removed, then you need to check whether there are errors in the update action. Check whether the values have been changed.
Thanks,

I got error "The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information "I found out the cause is Update Item action
I need to update item in another List call Customer Report ,the field call "Issues" with data type "Choice" to yes
then the error arise . please help..Thanks for the quick response Nikhil.
Our SPF 2010 server is relatively small to many setups I am sure. The list with the issue only has 4456 items and there are a few associated lists, eg lookups, Tasks, etc see below for count.
Site Lists
Engagements = 4456 (Errors on this list, primary list for activity)
Tasks = 7711 (All workflow tasks from all site lists)
Clients = 4396 (Lookup from Engagements, Tslips, etc)
Workflow History = 584930 (I periodically run a cleanup on this and try to keep it under 400k)
Tslips = 3522 (Engagements list can create items here, but overall not much interaction between lists)
A few other lists that are used by workflows to lookup associations that are fairly static and under 50 items, eg "Parters Admin" used to lookup a partners executive admin to assign a task.

When I open an event, including flagged items, the photos appear one by one, not as thumbnails, so I can't export more than one phot at a time. How do I get iPhoto to show the thumbnails?
I've tried rebuilding the thumbnail database, but that hasn't helped.What version of iPhoto and system are you running?
Try moving the Zoom slider at the bottom of the iPhoto window all the way to the left. Does that let more than one photo display in the window?

Lightroom won't export more than one image at the time
I am having trouble exporting my RAW files as JPEG files. At first Lightroom 4.4 seemed to skip certain photos when exporting and now I'm unable to export more than one image at the time. How can I fix this? I didn't seem to have this problem before the 4.4 update, but then again, the 4.4 update has been running for a few days now. I run on a 32bit Windows 7 with 4GB of RAM.
Lightroom has also been a considerable lot slower since the last couple of days, yet there have been no changes at all to my computer or system or anything - nothing's changed expect for the fact that Lightroom isn't behaving as it used to.
Can anyone help me?I think I've found the problem - I've accidentally 'synced' my folder instead of importing the RAW files. Which brings me to my next problem and question - I've already edited the RAW files and would really like it if there's a way I could re-import the files without losing my changes/metadata, is there anyway that's possible?

HI Experts,
Can any one help me to add two more column for standard report that is purchase order and delivery dates for Internal order wise.
But here problem is when i checked with ABAP team they said there is no standard functional module to add two column.
Please note below :
Selection criteria is: 1) controlling area
2) Fiscal Year
3) From date and To date
4) Plan Version
5) Order Group.
My client suggested : S_ALR_87012993 this tcode to run, but we suggested with S_ALR_87013019 as in this tcode we can get all the details
That is required output fields, as it is showing all details but on yearly basis, he wants this to be period wise and also Abap team is not able to find standard functional module in the second tcode as well.
Out Put fields to Pop up
1) Orders.
2) Budget
3) Actual
4) commitment
5) Alloted
6) Available
These are two additional column
7)Purchase order
8) Delivery date.
Require your help to know which all tables are included to extract above out put fields please help me.
Thanks in Advance.

SudeshHi Preeti,
Thanks for reply, can you please let me know is there any other way to show the output fields.
As my client is very specific to run the report on period wise, i also tried to execute the standard tcode S_ALR_87013019 and were we are getting all the required outputs to pop up but this is on year wise, but we can also check by period basis by clicking on order number and actual period basis where we can see period basis.
Also one more question,what is the commitment table which is popping up in this, please advise.
Thanks in advance.

Why does iPhoto (9.0/11) not retain the Event name when exporting more than one event? (using File -> Export -> Album name with number).
Exporting a single Event retains the Event name which is what I'd expect. But highlighting more than one event and exporting it renames the images to Events 001.JPG, Event 002.JPG etc.
I was recently on holidays and had all my events nicely split on Dad's computer but when I went to export it I couldn't retain any of this information. Now I have to replicate this all again on my computer.
It wasn't possible to export the entire library as the external drive was fat32 format an I didn't want all of it. It would be nice to export a bunch of events to someone and have it retain the name.
Does anyone have a work around or will this be fixed at some point by Apple?Why does iPhoto (9.0/11) not retain the Event name when exporting more than one event? (using File -> Export -> Album name with number).

How to add 1 more column in standard portal UWL and map the values.
Hi
I have one issue/requirement, please help me out on that also.
In portal UWL, i want to add one more column TICKET ID COLUMN, and ticket id value I will be putting as work item ID of abap Workflow, so whenever approver opens his portal UWL, in first column i want to show ticket ID say 00012345, so how to add this ticket ID column in standard portal UWL and how to put/map value of work item in that column.
My idea behind this is, when ever say employee wants to know the status about his ticket ID, he can simply ask his manager regarding the ticket status by referring to that ticket ID which manager can easily find in his portal UWL in that extra TICKET ID COLUMN .
Do I have to change anything in SAP inbox also ? Do i have to add 1 more colum in sap R/3 inbox also ? and will adding 1 more colum in sap inbox (R/3 inbox), will create automatically one more ticket ID colum in portal UWL also ?
please let me know , as i do not want to add 1 extra column in R/3 inbox, just i want in portal UWL extra ticket ID column should come and i want to put workitem ID generated at the start of workflow, in that colum in portal UWL
please help me on this.
Thanks...

These are called custom attributes. Here is a powerpoint that may be able to assist you with the documentation that the other poster gave you too.
Always remember too when you make a change on the backend R/3 side, you must reregister your UWL connector. And yes, the column must be available on the backend R/3 side. We can't create on the fly columns in the UWL, that have no reference to the backend system in this case.

Unable to export all columns from sharepoint 2010 survey
Have a user that cannot export all columns from a sharepoint survey. When exported, he only gets 3 columns. We've tried a number of things, including exporting from the overview view. We've also made sure that readers had full edit rights, etc. Just for
background, this survey does contain branching logic. Any ideas?I have had
exactly the same problem before.
There's already a ton of suggestions on these blogs, and I suspect there is a bug somewhere.
As I'm lucky to have Reporting Services in SharePoint mode, I've been using it to export Survey data, pre-process it, and export it to Excel or PDF. -

HariHi Hari,
How is your input structure define, (data from excel to internal table). If you have the fields defined in it...
1.you need to change the input structure first in your program....
2. If your business needs any validation to these new fields????
3.you need to modify the BDC population code for the new fields and populate the BDC structure....
If the hint is useful Say thanks by reward .
