  • App Stores' bugs on the iPhone 2.0

    Hello,
I have a first generation iPhone and I found a couple of bugs with the App Stores:
    1) Going to "Featured" and then to "Categories" in the top right makes my iPhone go back to the main menu. Seems like the App Store application crashes.
    2) Leaving reviews for applications using iTunes works fine but when I use the iPhone none appear on the review list, even after waiting a couple of days. Something is definitely not working here.
    3) When in the "Top 25" tab, the number of reviews listed for each application is outdated. I need to load the reviews of a single application to get the number of reviews on the "Top 25" list to update for this application.
I also wonder why some applications are not available where I live. I do not have access to Loopt, eBay or Pandora from Europe. I understand for Loopt as it is an application based on the location, that works for the US, but Pandora is a internet radio so it should be available everywhere. As for eBay, I am pretty sure it is only a matter of changing a few lines of code so that the application shows the listing of my country.
Don't you think it would be nice to have a single topic with all the bugs related to the iPhone 2.0 software update? What do you think?

    First gen phone running 2.0
    1) When an app kicks you back to the home screen, yes, that's a crash. But I haven't seen the App Store crash on me at all. There is no Categories button in the top right of Featured, but switching between the top buttons doesn't cause me any problems.
    2) I haven't tried leaving reviews via iPhone, so don't know.
    3) Yes, I'm noticing a difference in review number. The Top 25 list shows N, the app page shows N, and then when you actually load the reviews, the heading at the top shows N-plus-something. I'm only seeing this with some apps, though, and the ones that do show it are off by a fairly small number (1148 vs. 1157, 254 vs. 258, 8 vs. 19)
A single topic for all bugs is a bad idea---it would quickly get too unwieldy and confusing. Much better to have small direct questions with specific subject lines.

  • App Store bug?

Some app icons in my App Store are appearing with a black background/border instead of transparency. My OS X version is 10.9.4. I tried to restart, used CleanMyMac 2, but the bugs are still there. I checked some of my friend's macs, they are using 10.9.4 version too and aren't having this trouble. Is there something I can do?

Are your friends using CleanMyMac?  The problems you are seeing are most likely from that software...it is very bad and should be removed.

  • Weird App Store bug

So I just got a 5S for Christmas, and while it seems to work perfectly fine, I'm having a really weird bug reoccuring every few hours.
At random, iOS will automatically switch to the App Store, but not just the App Store, it will go to Candy Crush Saga as well. Just...by itself. I'll be in the middle of doing something, and all of a sudden the OS switches itself over to the Candy Crush Saga page in the App Store.
...Is my phone possessed by Candy Crush Saga or something? I don't even play that game and have never installed it on any of my iDevices. It has done this 3 or 4 times now and it's getting really annoying.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • App Store bug downloading Yosemite needs fix

I have the same problem as elsewhere reported on this forum - downloading Yosemite repeatedly stops at 870 MB, and it is not due to a limit from my ISP. I have since downloaded multiple files >1.5GB in size via my browser, without the slightest problem. 1.5GB>870MB. QED.
I have deleted the partial copy, restarted the Mac, restarted the App Store, restarted my router. Nothing works. It sticks at 870MB. But it continues to generate network traffic that consumes data (>10GB overnight until I stopped it!). This has cost me at lleast $20 extra on this month's bill.
There is plenty of free space (>75GB). There is plenty of RAM (16GB). Yes, my computer is plugged in.
Elsewhere it is suggested to simply switch to another ISP. I live in a rural area and can't do this. It is also suggested to go to a wifi hotspot somewhere. I have a Mac Pro and can't do this. I have high-capacity iPads and an iPhone, but these are no help because Yosemite is available only through the MAC App Store.
This problem is a bug in the App Store, and Apple needs to fix it. It is not an ISP problem.

I have the same problem on my iMac.  I was able to download and install OS X 10.10 Yosemite on my macbook pro retina.  i went to my iMac and when I enter my Apple ID and Password (which is correct), it says "Your device or computer could not be verified.  Contact support for assistance".  It won't let me download Yosemite.  FWIW, I can start up iTunes and log in with my Apple ID and Password without any problem.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • How do I resolve the App Store using another apple id within my family

First time post - please forgive any errors.
I've upgraded to an iPhone 6 from a 4S. I used iTunes on my home computer to perform the backup and restore. It worked great. I can purchase new apps and the correct apple id is shown. The problem is when updating existing apps. The app store requests that I enter my password but the apple id displayed is from my wife's device. I've shut the phone off/on. I've signed out of my apple id and signed back in. Her apple id continues to display. I don't know how to make it use mine - which shows up settings->iTunes and App store.
Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no changing apple id for said app, as you downloaded an app with your wife's apple id, or sync an app that your wife downloaded.
You will need her credentials to update the app, or delete and reinstall with your apple id.

  • Another App Store bug?

I downloaded, long time ago, a free version of WhiteNoise, then the app became shareware. Today I got a message from AppStore telling me it was updated but if I try to download it, either from mac or iphone, I get the error "item is no more available".
well, I don't care to download it again or so, I just want a way to make mac/iphone to ignore this update. is it possible?
    tnx.

confirmed App Store problem with that application. Now everything is ok.

  • Major app store BUG, PLEASE HELP!!!

This is the situation, I updated my iPhone to 3.1 then went to Settings - store and changed my iTunes details (Apple ID.) The new apple ID was a completely different E-mail address, then I went to the App Store, got a new app, this worked fine. Then I went to update my Apps, when I tapped FREE - install it displayed the wrong E-mail, no matter what I did. Please help

  • App crashing at launch after update... (app store bug?)

okay this might be it ... I read a couple of articles earlier today reporting app store issues like here:
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2406710,00.asp
... so a couple of minutes ago I updated an

there were some issues posting (error) so here's the rest of my post:
... so a few of minutes ago I updated an app that worked perfectly well before the update and here we are, it's does exactly this, it crashes as soon as I launch it. The app icon just flashes very shortly, and that's it. Probably doesn't matter but the app is called lensflare. I deleted it and re-installed it, same thing, it just crashes repeatedly.
So what's the word guys, stop updating and installing anything until the issue is solved? thanks.

  • Serious App Store Bug involving Time Machine

Here's the deal as far as I can figure out.
SOMEHOW, Mountain Lion has it in it's head that - even though I only bought my machine a month ago new and no one else has ever signed in, touched it or even so much as blinked at it or my apple ID - it thinks that I own an app that may have previously been backed up on the used drive I have attached to my machine even though that is not a real part of my system.See it is weird.. My App Store believes wrongly that I -> 1. Have an app installed that I have never had in my purchase history - but I must (sort of) still have within the bits on the time machine disk and 2. that my legitimately installed iLife apps brand new on the machine (iphoto included which currently is asking for an update also) were disseminated later in time and therefore the other ghost iLife apps on the unused portion of the timemachine backup were more legit by having simply been registered under another apple ID on someone else's rig before I did on mine with my own ID.. I now can't update my legit copies of iPhoto nor can I get rid of this solitaire app on my update list that I have never in fact seen or downloaded! It's not even in my purchases! I have tried every possible combo of logout, restart, I even stood on my head and spit rainbows out of my butt.. I cannot update iPhoto or do a darn thing! HELP!

    Situation Summary:
Newly installed Time Machine with a used 1TB drive my friend gave me he didn't need.. this is the catalyst. -=>
The App Store is super CONVINCED I own an app (and I need to update it!) I've never bought or seen ever.. but MIGHT (this is my best guess!) have belonged to the last person using my newly installed and previously used as a time machine, 1tb Time Machine (get it?)
Also, The App Store is convinced that I have no way of updating iPhoto even though it came installed on my new machine last month and I am the only person who has signed into, set up, used an Apple ID on, or even touched my precious new iMac. So I can't update iPhoto (and that application seriously needs the update... so this *****! )
    - my suspicion is that OSX Mountain Lion/App Store is convinced that the original person who had this used 1TB drive that I am now time machining with had iPhoto (and probably everything ever) backed up onto this drive and that somehow the OS is finding some type of registry codes (?) buried on it that it is interpretting as somehow more legitimate than my own currently.. maybe because they appeared first in time (as in before I even bought my new iMac?)
Anyway.. this is pretty seriously upsetting me at the moment. And I think a dev needs to look into this.
Thanks for any possible helpful suggestions. Please be kind, I'm sort of a newbie to Mac land.

Here is the annoying apple ID of the wrong person I don't even know who showing up.. it just so happens to have an email address local to my area so that is how I figured out that the drive I am using for Time Machine may be affecting my OS negatively..

The MAS doesn't intend to peek on your network drives. As mentioned, it uses the spotlight indexing to see what's on your system. You can always re-index and mess around, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.
You may have noticed sometimes when mass storage is being indexed, this can take many hours. This is generally when people call AppleCare because they think Time Machine is broken  It's not, it's just that millions of modes can take a while, even for a modern Mac.
I'll flag a moderator to move your image.

  • Apps store bug - No shopping cart?

I have "Buy using shopping cart" option turned on in iTunes > Preferences > Store but this does not work for the App store purchases.
    Why not?

This is the way the apps have been since the beginning (which was not all that long ago, of course). Could be an oversight, could be intentional, but it should not be the way the store is set up, IMHO.
You can submit feedback to Apple:

  • Is this an itunes app store bug

When I access the App Store from my iPad to read the customer reviews of an app, I cannot find the button to mark a review as helpful or not helpful.
When I tried to do this from my Mac, there are "Yes" and "No" buttons after "Was this review helpful", but the "No" button does not work, only the "Yes" button works.
Does anyone else experience the same problem?
    Thanks.

  • Strange ipad app store bug...

Browse it by date. Then go to another page than 1. Click on an app to see its details, then come back in list. Sometimes you'll get to the previous page you were, but often you'll be back to page 1...

Yes, I've seen that - I think Apple likes to send you to the top on occasion.

  • I know a App Store Bug .. Want to report to Apple

I know how to download a Paid -up for free without any code or any software .. I want to report to Apple abt it ..

I don't want to know the 'trick'.
Contact Apple at using one of the Contact Us links at the bottom of the page.
You didn't get the nuance of my question.
I was wonderering how anybody could download anything with using software of some sort.  That would be a neat trick!

  • Mac App Store app does not install. How do I get a refund?

I purchased an app from the Mac App Store (Connect360 - $20).  I "installed" the app from the Mac App Store.  The app appears on the dock and loads, but when it's done, it disappears from the dock.  The app is not located in the Applicaitons menu like it should be.  When I return to the Mac App store app and go to PURCHASED, the app is listed there again with the INSTALL button ready to go to be installed.  I've gone through this now 2 or 3 times and the app doesn't ever install.
I followed all the links from the Mac App store to the developers website and after digging down into the comments found that others have had this problem as well.  I contacted the developer and they said this was a "Mac App store bug that Apple is aware of and to please contact Apple."  I have not found anywhere to properly report this and feel very frustrated that I keep getting sent in link circles from one place on the Apple website to the Mac App store and back again.
I had previously tried the "trial" version from the developer and loved it.  I followed all the instructions to "uninstall" the app before installing the Mac App store app as well. I thought it would be nice to have purchased the app through the Mac App store so it was tied to my account, but no suck luck.
Anyone know the proper procedure for requesting a refund or point me in the direction to get answers on how to get my $20 back?

Install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
Then reinstall the app > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Your only recourse for a refund if you can't get the app installed correctly is from the developer, not Apple.
According to Apple, all sales are final >  iTUNES STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
