"dba_extents" doesn't find just created segment... Why ?

below you can see a sequence of commands and queries from my operating system and SQLPLUS promts. The question is : Why "dba_extents" doesn't find just created "newtab" table ???

Java cmd doesn't find a created package during execution

Hi all,
I created a package and modified the CLASSPATH in order to compile a program using my package.
The compilation passed without errors nor warnings.
Problem:
When I invoked my program by using the following cmd line: java <Main Class Name>
I got an error message telling me that the Main method is not found : no found class error.
Please let me know if you need more details to solve this problem.

The java command expects the full class name as its argument. If the class that has the main() method is part of a package, then the full class name is package_name.class_name. So if your class is MyClass.class and part of a package called mypackage then the command must be "java mypackage.MyClass"
MyClass.class must be in a directory named mypackage and the directory that contains mypackage must be in the Classpath.
Hopefully, the method is main, not Main.

ICal search doesn't find anything

when I test this by creating a future event with a particular word in it, then return to today and search for that word in the little "search" box at top right, it doesn't find that word.
Why not?

I have also had long standing problems of not being able to search for calendar events, either from within iCal or Spotlight or using mdfind.
None of the suggested solutions worked for me (removing Calendar Cache file, adding and removing folders or drives to the privacy section of Spotlight to re-index, or running mdimport ~/Library/Calendars.
One clue was that mdimport -d2 ~/Library/Calendars would not even look at the individual .ics files within any .calendar/Events directory (no output). I suspected that this was due to LaunchServices not associating these files properly with iCal. My system had previously been upgraded all the way from 10.0 through 10.6.
What finally worked for me was the following, using the Terminal, rebuilding completely the LaunchServices database:
rm /Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices*.csstore
*defaults delete com.apple.LaunchServices*
*sudo /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServi ces.framework/Support/lsregister -kill*
*sudo /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServi ces.framework/Support/lsregister -R -domain local -domain system -domain user*
(note the capital -R in the previous line.)
This step will take a few minutes to complete, with a message about I/O throttleing
reboot (not sure if that is necessary)
*mdimport -d2 ~/Library/Calendars*
This last command should now show the successful indexing of all calendar events.
After this search finally worked again for me!

The "Search" function box doesn't find things that are there! Why? Eg: It doesnt show all my Sent and Received emails, but it will find an email that I half wrote and deleted. Unsure why or how to explain more fully.
I also don't understand if I type in "James email" or "J" into the search box and all the J / James stuff appears but it doesn't show the emails I know have been sent and I know are somewhere because I rang "James" up to check, but the search box shows random thing I am NOT looking for, even if I type in fully what I am looking for and test it by typing in full titles of things.
It also doesn't store all my sent emails in "Sent" box. Confused! I'm not sure if the "Search" box just isn't up to the job or if it is broken / i'm doing something wrong? Maybe the email address I use isn't set up properly?

This can happen sometimes if the cache is not cleared correctly when items are not deleted from your device.
The only solution to this is to do a restore to clean out the cache file.

Wow, the wording in Migration Assistant is misleading. I've never used it before, so I thought I would try to copy my files from the external drive ... my old iMac died, but I managed to get everything I need off it, using the 'cp' command in single-user mode. So I guess I'll just have to manually copy the files from the external drive to the new machine. I was hoping that Migration Assistant might help somehow, but obviously not.

You need to begin by configuring the AEX to Join an existing network (Bridge Mode.) You can then connect to it using Wi-Fi, but the AEX will not extend your existing network.
If you can connect the AEX to your existing router using Ethernet, then you could use it to Create a new network. Otherwise, if you want to extend your existing network you will need to get a Wireless Access Point - WAP - from a non-Apple product like D-Link.

Can't find the bean which was just created??

I am completely stuck at this problem. I'll try to explain it as briefly as possible. (Btw I use Weblogic 8.1 and Oracle 10g DB).
I create an entity bean (it has a String as a primary key). It has some relationships, everything is set up nicely. Upon creation I put the Id in a JMS message, the message in a JMS queue and finish the method.
From the MDB that gets this message I do findByPrimaryKey(id) and it complains it cannot find my bean. Why? I can see it in the database. Also if I send to the MDB an ID from a bean that was created earlier, it works. It just can't find the bean that was just created, as if it wasn't "commited".
What could be the cause of this? Is there an easy way to explain/solve it?

Does the database insertion and the JMS publish occur in the same XA
transaction? It sounds like the JMS commit happens (sometimes) quick
enough that the other resource (the database) has not finished commit
processing yet. So you don't find your key.

Why can I not find files created with x-rite software in color sync folder?

Creating printing profiles for different papers.They are being stored in a hidden folder. Why?

I can only find two library folders out of the three that you are speaking of. It is my understanding that in 10.7 and 10.8 they changed where and access to certian files.
I'm just really stumped why it would hide files that are being used by more than application when I can put downloaded images in colorsync folder and they are fine.

What is "Adobe XI" - Reader, or Acrobat?
But either way, 'Save as Adobe PDF' is a Word function, independent of what Adobe software you have installed.

I just created a book in iPhoto 6 and no support is available to print it. WHY?

I just created a book in iPhoto 6 and need to print it ASAP for a gift.
Now there is no support from Apple to do this.

I would hazard a guess that as iPhoto 6 is more thn 5 years old, the installed base is tiny now, and it's no longer economically viable to support printing Books from it.
You can print from any version of iPhoto later thanv6 - so you need to buy iPhoto 08 or 09. (iPhoto 11 won't run on that machine). You'll also need to update your system software by running Software Update.
The only way to get iPhoto 08 or 09 is to purchase an iLife 08 or 09 disk, try amazon or ebay.

Since you seem to be using a new disk for Lion, Time Machine will consider previous backups to be for a "different" computer. Try doing a control-click or click-and-hold on the Time Machine icon in the Dock, then choose "Browse Other Time Machine Disks". This should allow Time Machine to see the previous backups.
In the worst case you should be able to open those Time Machine backups and copy your documents from there to your home folder.
By the way, you've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum into typing a large part of your message into the field intended for the subject. In the future just type a short summary of your post into that field and type the whole message into the field below that.

Extract the photos from the phone to your computer like you would with any other digital camera.
PhotoStream is NOT permanent storage and iCloud photos is in beta, meaning it's not fully cooked yet and you may lose data stored in it.
