Dbms_xmlgen how to generate encoding attribute

HI, I'm generating XML using the dbms_xml packages. It generates this header
<?xml version="1.0"?> My database has the WE8MSWIN1252 characterset. So I want the header to be:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>My question is how can I generate the xml header automatically, depending on the databases character encoding settings?
Rene

You could write (indeed as you mentioned option in 2) your own, for instance, as shown here:
Re: Concatenation, Attributes, and Processing Instruction
and/or use XMLROOT
but that said, you can't use XMLROOT in 9.2 yet.
but based on your requirements it is not easy / a lot of work to do, although I wonder what you are trying to achieve and don't forget that if you pick the database characterset you will probably overrule situations based on:
(http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14225/ch3globenv.htm#i1006415)
NLS_SESSION_PARAMETERS shows the NLS parameters and their values for the session that is querying the view. It does not show information about the character set.
NLS_INSTANCE_PARAMETERS shows the current NLS instance parameters that have been explicitly set and the values of the NLS instance parameters.
NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS shows the values of the NLS parameters for the database. The values are stored in the database.
or in other words if NLS settings are manually changed within a session, instance or database context.

  • How to generate the encoding attribute

    Hi,
    After reading a lot of posts on this forum and trying out suggestions on both 9.2 and 10G databases my question is stil unanswered. So I thought I'd ask my question again.
    Original post is here (dbms_xmlgen how to generate encoding attribute
    I'm currently generating XML using the dbms_xml packages. But same problem exists when using sql/xml functions.
    I get this header :
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    My database has the WE8MSWIN1252 characterset. So I want the header to be:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
    My question is how can I generate the xml header automatically, depending on the database characterset?
    The code has to work on 9.2 and 10G. I see 2 possible solutions.
    1 The encoding attribute value is generated automatically
    2 I generate it myself but then I need a to translate the database characterset name to the proper value for the encoding attribute value.

  • How to generate MT100 file in XML ?

    How to generate MT100 file in XML ?
    Dear All,
    Base:      We are working on ECC 6.0 version and developing B2B with bank.
    Requirement:     For B2B bank requires payment orders in MT100 format wrapped in XML.
    At Present:     I am using PMW format MT100(standard) in payment method. With the use of this format system is generating MT100 text file.
    In this standard PMW format MT100, check box for u201Dmapping using DME engineu201D is not selected.
    My Try:      I  change in format output from file to XML in Payment Media Format (T. Code OBPM1), but it doesnu2019t work.
    In data medium display (T. Code FDTA) system is showing the following error.
    The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
    XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/Users/888881/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Wind...
    In view source system is showing only this,
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    My Question:      How to generate MT100 file in XML ?
    Should I have to create DME Format Tree in ( T. Code DMEE )  and  create new Payment Media Format (T. Code OBPM1), with the mapping using DME engine ?
    Please give your valuable suggesions,
    Thank you,
    Rony

    Hi Prabhu,
    The program SAPFPAYM generates the payment Medium  on the basis of your configuration and background settings, this program does not bydefault give the output in the XML.
    Varient creation for the PMW in T. Code OBPM4, use the same program, which i already done it, even without this it is not be possible to create any payment Medium.

  • How to generate a second csv file with different report columns selected?

    Hi. Everybody:
    How to generate a second csv file with different report columns selected?
    The first csv file is easy (report attributes -> report export -> enable CSV output Yes). However, our users demand 2 csv files with different report columns selected to meet their different needs.
    (The users don't want to have one csv file with all report columns included. They just want to get whatever they need directly, no extra columns)
    Thank you for any help!
    MZ

    Hello,
    I'm doing it usually. Typically example would be in the report only the column "FIRST_NAME" and "LAST_NAME" displayed whereas
    in the csv exported with the UTL_FILE the complete address (street, housenumber, additions, zip, town, state ... ) is written, these things are needed e.g. the form letters.
    You do not need another page, just an additional button named e.g. "export_to_csv" on your report page.
    The csv export itself is handled from a plsql procedure "stored procedure" ( I like to have business logic outside of apex) which is invoked by pressing the button "export_to_csv". Of course the stored procedure can handle also parameters
    An example code would be something like
    PROCEDURE srn_brief_mitglieder (
         p_start_mg_nr IN NUMBER,
         p_ende_mg_nr IN NUMBER
    AS
    export_file          UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;

    Log Message:
    With TLF 571 checked in we can now revert the MXML 2009 changes for how the id language attribute is processed.
    An unqualified id property will no longer be seen as a setter for a normal public, writable, non-static "id" property - which matches Flex 3 behavior.
    As in earlier versions of Flex, the mechanism to retain MXML id attribute information at runtime is to implement mx.core.IMXMLObject. The compiler will generate a call to the intialized() method and pass in the id information.
    Note: One exception to this rule seems to be UIComponent which instead get id attribute information via mx.core.IDeferredInstantiationUIComponent (although there seems to be a TODO in the codebase to remove this mechanism and thus should not be relied on by third parties).
    QE notes: Please add tests for the TLF id property on flow elements (div, span, p, etc).
    Doc notes: Please check that we have not documented
    Bugs: N/A
    Reviewer: Paul
    Tests run: Checkintests, local test cases.

  • How to generate credentials.

    Hello,
    I wanted to start an official topic on this. Please use this topic to share ideas about how to generate credentials.
    Here are some quick suggestions from me.
    1. Add the eduCourseMember attribute to user records. This attribute would contain all the credentials a user can have. Some other means would be required to generate the value of this attribute.
    2. Generate the credentials a user should have dynamically based on what groups a user is in.

    The group approach is a simple approach that works. There is no need to modify the schema, and it is straight forward to determine group membership.
    For example, create a group itunesuphilosophyStudents for students that are authorized to access philosophy class downloads.
    The dscl command-line utility can be used to retrieve group membership from all directories that a Mac OS X system is bound to:
    dscl /Search -search /Groups GroupMembership <user short name>

  • How to activate camera attributes in the MAX / LabVIEW

    Hello,
    I have created an icd file for a VieWorks camera. Therefore I used the camera file generator tool of NI. In this tool I can setup camera attributes. After creating the file, I opened the MAX and selected the camera in the IMAQ devices. The attributes I generated where correctly shown. The question now is how to activate the attributes. For instance I created an attribute to activate / deactivate the FAN. When I select the attribute in the MAX and set the value to ON, nothing happens.
    This also fails when I use the SetCameraAttributes.vi in labview. I use LV2009 and IMAQ 4.6.1
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Marc Vanmaris

    Hello,
    Just check in MAX that the "Serial Enable" is selected. It seems that the serial command is not send to your camera.
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
    I'm using Agile PLM for Process 6.1.0.1.
    in Agile Product Lifecycle Management for Process Documentation Library v6.1 >> Administrator User Guide is explained how to generate a Token from ADMIN Module.
    The guide says to click on ADMIN > Activities > Generate Token on the left navigation panel. Our issue is that the "generate Token" row exit doesn't appear.
    We have the same issue with the "import".
    The only row exit that appear is "Export"
    Do you know which could be the cause of this issue?
    If you need a better explanation let me know.

    Hi, in the EnvironmentSettings.config file there are several sections that control this.
    First is the DataExchangeService node, which need to be different for the Source system versus the Target System. This controls which system can generate tokens.
    SOURCE SYSTEM
    <!-- Change the System Attribute of dataexchange to Production to make this environment import only environment -->
                        <!-- DataExchangeService follows a new and simpler config scheme now -->
                        <DataExchangeService configChildKey="name" refscope="Application" factory="Class:Xeno.Prodika.Services.DataExchange.DataExchangeServiceFactory,PlatformExtensions" >
                             <envvar name='DexConfiguration' handler='Class:Xeno.Prodika.Services.DataExchange.Configuration.DexConfigSectionHandlerFactory,PlatformExtensions'>
                                  <DataExchangeConfig System="PSTAGE" NotifierEmail="@@VAR:Prodika.DataExchangeService.Notifier.EmailAddress@@"
                                       EncryptionFilter="Class:Xeno.Prodika.Services.DataExchange.Serialization.RijndaelEncryptionStreamFilterFactory,PlatformExtensions">

                                  </DataExchangeConfig>
                             </envvar>
                        </DataExchangeService>
    TARGET SYSTEM - The Target will allow Tokens to be generated for the Source.
    <!-- Change the System Attribute of dataexchange to Production to make this environment import only environment -->
                        <!-- DataExchangeService follows a new and simpler config scheme now -->
                        <DataExchangeService configChildKey="name" refscope="Application" factory="Class:Xeno.Prodika.Services.DataExchange.DataExchangeServiceFactory,PlatformExtensions" >

  • How to generate orm.xml

    Hi,
    I would like to know how to generate orm.xml, the mapping file for JPA. I am using jdev 10.1.3.0.4.
    Thanks in advance

    There is not yet any built in support for this.
    What I have been doing is configuring JDev to understand the orm.xml schema so that when editing the file with JDeveloper it can assist me on the available elements and attributes as well as a default structure.
    JDeveloper :: Tools -> Preferences -> XML Schema -> Add
    jar:file:/C:/oracle/10.1.3.1/preview/jdev/toplink/jlib/toplink-essentials.jar!/orm_1_0.xsd
    Now when you wish to create an orm XML instance document in your project you can use:
    New -> General -> XML -> XML Document from Schema
    Select "Use Registered Schema"
    Select the ORM target namespace: http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/orm
    This will give you a basic orm.xml file properly configured which you can then use to define your mappings.

    Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello, Lohitha.
    Thanks for your post. You are right, the general way to create a PDF is like that, using Adobe Interactive Forms.
    Using this, I must design a form and fill it with data binding. But, in fact, what I'm requested to do is just convert the current IView into a pdf file without using any forms, but keeping the IView design.
    Let me explain myself, It could be something similar to convert a .doc file into .pdf.
    I tried this code;
         IPrivatePDFComponentView.IContextElement contextElement = wdContext.currentContextElement();
         byte[] bytes = contextElement.getPdfSource(); //here I get bytes = null since PdfSource is empty if I do not use Interactive Forms!!
         try {
              File file = new File("C:\temp\example.pdf");
              FileOutputStream os = new FileOutputStream(file);
              os.write(bytes);
              os.close();
         } catch (IOException e) {
              // do something
              e.printStackTrace();
    Do you know how could I do that?
    Thanks
