Dear Apple, Why is your post sales customer service so bad?

I am very new to Apple, after 2 weeks I have enjoyed my iPhone 4 so far but the 1st problem (Apple ID Disabled) is a nightmare to resolve. A search on these forum shows this is a regular issue. Apple do not seem to have implemented the systems to deal with this appropriately. I have changed my password, completed their web form 3 times and contacted Apple support by phone. No one is helping me. I was seriously considering the iPad 2 as I had found the iPhone so usable but without access to app store for updates or itunes its just another phone. No iPad for me I think.
If anyone knows of a quick way to get Apples attention to resolve this then I would be grateful for the steer.

    as I was going through your Website I noticed that FaceTime and PhotoBooth are very similar. I don't know how these two are built, but ins't this a great idea bring them together?     In actual fact iChat came first.
    It had Video Effects before Photo Booth came out and could/can take snapshots of the Preview pic or the chat.
    Face Time at one level (visually) is a much simpler app all round.
    It does one job.  Connecting Video chats on a 1-to-1 basis.
    iChat can connect to Jabber servers and/or use the AIM Network (i.e Screen Names and IDs from other servers)
    Face Time uses Apple IDs
    Face Time also uses port 5223 the same as Jabber servers do (Jabber servers use this for Login).
    Currently an MobileMe name ending in @me.com is:-
    1)  an Apple ID  (Access to Communities with an Alias, iTunes, On Line Store, MacApp Store and so on)
    2) A Working Email
    3) a Valid Screen Name with the AIM Service (providing your password is 16 characters or less (AIM Limit)
    4) a Face Time Name. (re 1) )  (Listed only to stress the point)
    A @mac.com name is:-
    1) a valid AIM Screen Name (Same password Restrictions)
    2) An Apple ID  (There was a time when names could be registered after MobileMe  was launched, up to about 6 months ago when the Apple ID part was Optional)
    3) May be a working email if linked to an MobileMe account at the Mobile Me launch.
    An Apple ID  can be any other name, most likely an email address that has been used to register in any of the places in 1) in the Mobileme bit.
    If an Email was used this way it cannot be linked to a new Apple ID (Such as an @mac.com registration for iChat or Face Time)
    There would be some use in Face Time having a Jabber server so that Face Time to iChat could be done.
    (It remains to be seen how many would wish to add Jabber as well as having an AIM (Valid) name in iChat.
    iChat and Face Time can in fact access the camera at the same time (the only two apps that I know can do this without the Camera in Use message).
    There might be a call for Video effects in Fact Time but this may be beyond the processor capabilities of iOS devices.
    All in all linking Photo Booth and Face Time would only recreate iChat.

  • Dear Apple Support Communities - Your Major Sign-in Flaw

    so you get an email with an answer to your question and you click "View full discussion"..... if you want to respond you have to sign in..... which doesn't reopen in the forum topic you were just in but to the generic home page..... you either have to go back to your mail client and re-click the link or search your posted topics.... a definite unnecessary step. Every other forum I've used either has me already logged and sends me to the specific topic as it has the login built into the link..... or if I'm not logged in and then do so it stays on the topic I want to reply to.
    Apples system involves numerous extra clicks.... surely something Steve Jobs abhors!
    ..... also I'm not sure what the default 'stay logged in' time is but it only appears to be 2 or 3 minutes
    just my 2 cents!

    maybe so.  I didn't upgrade because as best as I can tell, I don't need any of the Lion features right now and am perfectly happy with SL which is what I started with.  I figure I will wait until there are either no more updates or until I get a new mac which I am hoping won't be for a long time.  I wish this forum would make it easier to include on a post what the product and OS is for the poster.  You have to go to the advanced editor and then choose the product/OS you want to show.   Its easy if you are in the specific community for an OS but so many of these communities include everyone.  I have replied to people who are on Leopard or even Tiger and then found out that I didn't have a clue as to what they needed. If I'm asking the question, I try to remember to include mine so that those who respond will know, but I don't always do that.  Maybe someone with Lion will be able to help you.

  • Apple needs to work on their customer service and software!

    After upgrading to ios 6.1.3 My wifi is grayed out and my Bluetooth is constantly searching so my battery life goes from 100% to dead in just a few hours when its on standby, and on top of that my 3g shows that its available but it wont connect to anything, every call I make or receive will drop (that is if I even connect to the call) text and voicemail randomly just show up from hours before but I cant listen to them.. When I call apple they just say that its my wifi antenna just to send them 200$ and they will take care of the problem.. Another person said that its just a bug software but wont tell me when the new update will be released to fix it.. ANOTHER customer service rep said that I just need to restore the last back up but that doesn't restore the last firmware so that obviously wont solve the problem, so in the case he says send them 125$ and they will take care of it.. I try to explain that everything was completely fine until the update but they all say the same thing, nothing is wrong with the software just send them money and they will fix everything. I have had iphone since the first iphone came out and pay way too much to use an iphone in the first place, so if I cant get them to help in any way I can guarantee this will be my last apple purchase. Specially since someone locked my last phone and since I didn't have the laptop it was synced with before they said there's nothing they can do about it, I lost pictures and videos of BOTH of my children's births, and my wedding.. For having as much money as apple does I expected a lot more from them, AT LEAST in the customer service aspect. IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND KNOWS HOW TO FIX IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW SINCE APPLE CANT!

  • I just downloaded 15 songs, almost half will only play parts of the songs. Some only will play 2 seconds!! How do I fix this? Apple doesn't exactly have a customer service number and I've already paid for my purchases. This has never happened before.

    I just downloaded 15 songs to my ipod and only about half will fully play. The others only play a minute or two with some only playing for seconds. I have never had this happen before. There isn't exactly a customer service number for apple so I'm not sure what to do. I'm pretty irritated sonce I've paid for all of them. Please help!!!

    I would delete them from your library and then redownload them from the iTunes Store.

  • Why Is Verizon Customer Service So Bad?

    Why does Verizon choose to have such bad customer service?  Doesn't Verizon understand that if they had good customer service, they'd have a lot more customers?  And if they had a lot more happy customers, they'd make a lot more money and even be able to lower their rates a little, which would get them even more customers and money.

    I agree, I used to think Ntelos was bad till I got here. Try dialing *611 and finding a human to talk to after exhausting all the patronizing menus. Don't see any phone numbers for people on their website either, might be well hidden.
    My wife finally called the local store and got thru to a person.

  • Why are there no available customer service links for complaints about retail stores?

    Having received appealing service in Meadowhall branch yesterday I can find no links for a general Customer Services and having spoken on chat to a representative the ONLY solution appears to be dealing with store direct. This hardly seems appropriate seen as though it happened in store and I would like to bring this to the attention of somebody higher. The Store Manager can not be the final say in all things Apple.
    Does anybody have any ideas?

  • Why is Customer Service So Bad?

    I have always had a high regard for Lenovo as a company, but I am stunned at the poor customer service I have received over the last month in trying to repair/replace an inoperable laptop. 
    The problem with my Ideapad Y500 began a few months after buying it when it continued to reboot, particularly when I am online downloading something (such as from YouTube); but the problem has also occurred when transferring files (such as to an external hard drive or memory stick) and even when the laptop sits idly.  It can occur over a length of time as long as 30 minutes or as short as 5 minutes after turning on the laptop. Various messages have appeared before rebooting, including "Page_fault_in_non_paged_area Win32k.sys," "Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area Ex64.sys," "Memory Management," and "Cache_Manager."  A Memory Diagnostic indicated that there is a hardware problem.
    When I called Technical Support in late July, the rep asked me to ship the computer to them so that it could be repaired - a relatively smooth and easy process.  After receiving the computer back with a RAM replacement, the problem reemerged in less than a day with the Memory Diagnostic once again saying it was a hardware problem.  I called Technical Support and the rep wanted me to perform an autorecovery function which we tried the first time before the RAM replacement and was unsuccessful.  This time, however, the autorecovery function wouldn't work, so I had to wait another week before receiving the autorecovery discs necessary to perform the function.  When those didn't work and I once again called Technical Support, I was transfered between several departments - all of whom couldn't or wouldn't help me.  Finally a Technical Support rep said that he would escalate the issue to Customer Relations and that I would receive a call within 2-3 business days.
    AFTER NEARLY A WEEK, I finally recevied a call from Delfina ****** who left a message and told me to call her back.  I called back every day (several times a day) for a week, leaving a message each time with a phone number and time that she could return my call.  I received no call.  When I once again made another call to her number the day after Labor Day, a new message on her voice mail said that she would be out of the office FOR A WEEK.
    Finally Delfina sent me an e-mail last night telling me that replacing my Ideapad was not yet an option and that I would have to send it back for repair.  She sent me a Fed Ex label but NO ACCOUNT NUMBER for Lenovo in which to deliver it back (which I didn't realize until after spending 20 minutes in line at Fed Ex).
    It's been over a month now that I have had an inoperable laptop and no one at Lenovo seems to care.

    I am experiencing the same horrible service. I have been waiting a month for my computer. I have called tech support daily for an entire month. No one calls back. Finally tacked down someone in the US to help. Still waiting on my computer to be sent back to me. I will NEVER buy a Lenovo product ever again. Most horrible customer service I have ever had. I feel like no one cares. I just want a refund at this point so I can buy a new computer that works. I am afraid once I do get it back if something else goes wrong I will be stuck in this horrible mess of tracking it down again.

  • Trade-in program is giving Verizon a Customer Service a bad Reputation

    The trade-in.vzw.com program is giving Verizon a huge negative customer service problem. I was concerned when I submitted my mint condition iphone 4 in the flimsy envelope they provided. And sure enough, it has been a month today and the check status website still has "not received" it according to the  link. They have it, post office did their job. And those phone calls to 877-247-3846 - wow - what a colossal waste of time for absolutely no information, that's if you do actually get a person who won't give their name and will hang up on you!  THIS IS NOT THE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE HAD AT VERIZON FOR 12+ YEARS!
    Then I come here and read they are shorting their customers in the trade-in amounts - wow again!  Really? It's a sales Promotion and they short their customers amounts like $166 of a $200 promotional trade-in value. Unbelievable!
    They haven't done that to me - yet. Because after a MONTH they are saying they still have not received my iphone.  I don't buy the due to the heavy volume we don't have time to take care of business lame excuse, get some help and get it done! By reading other customer posts they have been using this excuse for some time, well before the Iphone 6 launch.  Bad planning and simply not good business on Verizon's part.
    So I'll wait. Don't have much choice. And I don't have time to take the battle to the media, but some of you who have been so wrongly treated should.
    Damage to Verizon customer service has been done, and continues with each passing day.  My question is 'Has anyone had a good customer service experience with the Verizon Trade-in program?'

  • Is it me, or is Adobe Customer Service really bad?

    I've been working on a project, which has a deadline for tomorrow (Monday).
    Sod's law - I go to open the sequence this morning and it won't open... and neither will any of the other back-up versions I saved (which were all working fine when I left it last night).
    So I contact Adobe online chat customer service and talk to a robot for a few minutes - who's obviously reading from a script of annoying/obvious/over polite answers - only to be told they cannot help. I need to recontact them on Monday.

    Thankfully, it seems to have solved itself - which is a bit of a mystery!?
    I went to cool off and have a coffee - when I came back I tried again - for some reason the sequence opened. All very strange.
    This, along with a couple of other strange occurrences is leading me to believe the PP has a few bugs.

  • Dear Apple, why not fixing basic bugs?

    I was sure that installing Leopard and using the new Mail.app I was finally able to use rich text format with my own font having all my recipients receiving the email message with the correct font.
    This is still not happening!! I can't believe it...
    So, why adding "300 new features" and not fixing this kind of annoying (and really old) bugs?
    I do have the most advanced operating system running, but I still have to "write the message, select all text, and set the font" everytime I send a new eMail.
    Any plan to finally fix this problem, forever?

    There is a bug mentioned there which I think has not been fixed in Leopard.
    If you try to use the font button in the new message pane to set a new font size with rich text for the same font which you have set as the Message Font in the Mail preferences, it will seem to work but in fact the html generated by Mail contains only the size and not the font name. So it will be displayed at the other end in whatever font the user has set for his default. The workaround for that has been to make sure these fonts are different.
    This also seems to happen with Leopard Stationery. If you create a custom stationery for Helvetica 36 while your Message Font in preferences is set to Helvetica, the stationery code will have no font name in it. The way around that is to create your custom Helvetica stationary while your Message Font is set to something else. That stationery can then be used later whatever your Message font is set to.
    Though totally different from the question of having a preference setting for a default outgoing font, this really is something Apple should fix.
