Debug third party source code

Hello Friends,
I have jar files from a third party and the corresponding source code. I wanted to know how I could add the jar files to my weblogic runtime and then debug it by pointing to the source code. I don't want to directly add the source code to the project because that will mean compiling all of them when doing a clean build. I am unable to find a way to do this in workshop?

I'm guessing you're referring to the Workshop for WebLogic 8.1, and not the 9.x series. If not, there'd be a different answer.
You may have to debug your third-party code with a different debugger, like Eclipse or NetBeans. In the IDE project, just add the source code for your third-party code, and connect remotely to the server (make sure you have the correct "-Xdebug ..." parameters on the server). You may not be able to debug the app in both IDEs at the same time.

Installation hangs with Third Party Source component

Hi,
The installation hangs when it is installing Third Party Source (57%) in my environment.
This is my environment:
1. Solaris 10 x86 5/08
2. SunStudio12ml-solaris-x86-200709-pkg.tar
3. Installation method: single user, graphical user interface
4. Hardware: VMware Workstation 6.0.2, CPU 1.5G, memory 400M
I searched in SunStudio12ml-solaris-x86-200709-pkg.tar, and I could not find SPROrdbks package which belongs to Third Party Source component.
I suspect this is the root cause of my installation problem. I restart the installation, and I do not select to install Third Party Source component. But the installation process now hangs when it is installing Performance Library (56%). I don't what is the root cause :P
Can anyone help me?

Hi,
You could find log in the /var/sadm/install/logs directory. Probably it helps you.
(for example: /var/sadm/install/logs/Sun_Studio_Ceres_software_install.B09161643)
Unfortunately the SunStudio12 installer could have problems with virtual environments.
The Sun Studio is distributed as tar.bz2 archive (for latest Express it is wrapped into sh script).
You could just unpack it. The only difference is that there no packages are created.

Also if you use OpenSolaris you could install Sun Studio from IPS.

Connections with third-party source control - will they be retained?

I have RoboHelp installed on my hard drive. Company is swapping out my hard drive and I will need to reinstall it.
All my RH projects are connected to a third-party source control mechanism (Visual SourceSafe).
When I reinstall RH, will the connections to Visual SourceSafe be retained for all my projects?

Just getting the latest version should work. I had a similar problem after a crash. RoboHelp can't detect which projects are in the VSS database, but after getting them, it all worked fine.
You may however still want to backup your projects on a removable media to be sure. After the reinstall, just make sure the VSS client in installed, copy your project from the media and get back to work -- Could it be that simple? Well, it was for me.

Intrgrate third party bar code generator bean

Is it possible to integrate a barcode generator from a third party into reports server? I am evaluating the ones from www.idautomation.com and www.java4less.com since I need to generate barcodes not supported by the report's included bean.
Is there some documentation on how to configure both the reports server and Reports developer to use a third party barcode generator? Where could I find it?
Does anyone has hands-on experience with either of these products (or any other)?

I have been doing exactly that... but found some problems.
First, I did create a sample java program (actually the sample program was generated from a sample included in the third party bean). I did manage to run and generate barcodes from it. Problem is that some of the methods in the bean's interface are inherited from inner object, whose methods are not included in the package definition/body of the imported java class. The code in my report does compile but I get run-time errors whenever I try to run the bean.
Both products I am using render the brcode bit-map (either jpeg, gif or png) to an awt image object... but the sample included in the tutorial render the image to a temporary file and directs the report to include that image via a formula which reads the file into the report. Is that the only way to do it? I managed to do the same thing with the third-party bean but the report fails. Could Reports include the image without first saving it to a temporary file?
ANother thing I am facing (even with the tutorial's sample) is that the included package which is supposed to create a temporary file fails. This is, the line that creates the temporary file in the formula (starting with
myFileName := srw.create_temporary_filename;
Raises a run time error that prevents the report from running.
The very same thing occurs with the third party bean.
What could I do?

Third party source is trying to change my homepage.

I get a pop-up box stating that 'myfuncards' has blocked a third party attempt to change my homepage, then a 'Firefox' message saying someone is trying to trick it into downloading and update.

Debugging into EntityManager source code

Hi,
I often want (need) to debug into persist and other methods instead of skipping over them , as the error often happens in there, and as the framework provides very poor error reporting, I need to be able to debug to the error myself. Is there any way I can configure JDeveloper to debug into the source of the ADF/JEE framework?

Third Party Source Control

Hi there, I'm in the process of versioning the files that
RoboHelp uses into our Source Control. We're using RoboHelp version
5.xx. Is there a document out there that outlines which files are
required to be versioned, and which files are created during
compile time and are not required?

Positioning of third party code/ buttons

does anyone know a html tag that would position a link e.g. counterstat.com always by the end of a page disregarding different height of the pages?
hope i can make it clear what i am talking about. basically the height of my pages varies with the different content. i want to add third party html code (e.g. a button or similar) to my page. i want to have it at the end of each page (e.g aligned: centered)
yet the only way i could move buttons on my page in the code was to configure text boxes with a specific x/y position and then add the link before the div/ of the text box. this is certainly not a comfortable way to do it. any suggestions to make life easier??? remark the button must go still in the page-background area not in the browser background area.

Connectivity between BI 7.0 & Thirty party source Data Stage (ETL)

In 3.x, by specifying Info source in the third party Source system (Data Stage - ETL), we are extracting data to BW system. Now my server is upgraded to BI 7.0. Already existing (i.e. created in 3.x) applications are running fine in BI 7.0.
Without Info source how to connect BI 7.0 & Data Stage. What is the procedure.

I have ALEREMOTE in the ECC 6.0 and RFCUSER in SAP BI. For both I have kept password 'INITIAL'.
I am giving following parameters.
Target Computer (S server) --> Here I am providing IP Address
System ID(system name) --> 'D00
System Number                --> 00
Background user Source System --> ALEREMOTE
Password for Source System user --> INITIAL
Repeat password                             --> INITIAL
Background user in BW                RFCUSER
Password for BW user                  INITIAL
Repeat password                          INITIAL
and then click on 'Right' symbol and system is poped up with the small window with message
'user alaready exists in SS only continue if profile and password r correct'

after system again poped up with the window and message
' RFC Destination already exists in SS, Do u want to use same Destination....' and three buttons to select 'Use', 'Check', and 'Cancel'.

After this the system is giving the Error message "RFC User Logon failed, check the connection - BI 7.0", and the screen is of
RFC Destination maintenance. This RFC Destination is of SAP BW but in the right left corner of the the message line, system is ECC.
so, I don't uderstand what is the reason for this error.
Can u suggest me in SM59, RFC Destination (SAP BW) maintenance, on 'login/security' tab for 'Logon' information which USER ID and password I should enter? Currently, I have kept RFCUSER.

can any one provide an example ABAP source code to connect to third party systems using web service calls? The base system is CRM.

Do you want to call a web service in a remote system, or do you want to provide a web service?
If you want to call a web service you should create a proxy object via SE80. Open your development package, right click on the tree entry and choose: Create -> Enterprise Service / Web Service -> Proxy Object and provide the needed information (including the WSDL description file). You may then use the proxy object to call the web service (if the connection and everything else works right).

Calling a third-party library from JNI-enabled C++ code

Hi everyone,
I have some existing C++ application code that extracts data from a file in a special format (HDF5). This code uses a static library (third party) to decode the file format. I would like to wrap this application code in a JNI wrapper so that I can call the code from Java. So I have a situation like this:
Java front end -> application code (C++) -> static library (C++)
I have compiled JNI headers and modified the application code accordingly. I created a shared library by bundling the application code together with the static library (using gcc 3.2.2 on Red Hat Linux 9):
g++ -shared hdf5_jni.cc -o libhdf5_jni.so -I<include path> -L<static library path> -lhdf5
(the <static library path> contains the static library libhdf5.a). This creates a shared library which contains the application code and the relevant bits of the static library.
When I call the Java front end, the shared library (libhdf5_jni.so) is correctly found and accessed. However, I get an UnsatisfiedLinkError which I don't understand:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: <blah>/lib/libhdf5_jni.so: <blah>/lib/libhdf5_jni.so: undefined symbol: _Z4formPKcz
at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1560)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1485)
... etc
I have no idea what the undefined symbol "_Z4formPKcz" represents. It's not part of the application code or the static library.
Here's some more info that might help diagnosis:
1) The problem seems to be due to the approach of having a three-step process (Java code calling bespoke shared library which includes unmodified 3rd-party code). I get an identical error (including the mysterious "_Z4formPKcz" symbol) when trying to do something similar with a different 3rd-party static library.
2) When I simply have Java code calling C++ code which I have written myself (no calls to static library methods), I have no problems, i.e. there doesn't seem to be a problem with the way I set up the JNI wrappers or the application code, or in the way I create the shared library.
3) When I simply have C++ code calling the static libraries (i.e. no Java wrapper) I have no problems, i.e. there doesn't seem to be a problem with the application code or the static libraries.
4) The static libraries were compiled from source using the same compiler that I used to compile the application code.
5) I'm using J2SDK 1.4.2 on Red Hat Linux 9, although I've tried other versions of the SDK and had the same problem.
I've done a lot of web searches on the "_Z4formPKcz" symbol and have turned up absolutely nothing (zero Google hits!).
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I should have mentioned that I tried this too and it didn't solve the problem. You're right though, I should be compiling with -fPIC anyway.

How to minify code in DW CS6 without using third party tools?

I work in a secure environment without access to the internet or third party plugins. We just have access to Dreamweaver CS6 and I am looking for ways to minify (remove all the white space) in my code (CSS, JS, HTML, etc). I did see a tutorial about simply selecting white space in the code and then doing a FIND AND REPLACE and clicking the "REPLACE ALL" button to remove the white space, but that did not work on my system.
Does anyone have any solutions? I am open to copying and pasting the code in something like notepad if there's a way to remove the whitespace that way, I could also possibly copy a php script to my system, but that will take some time to get cleared by the IT folks.

Use Edit > Preferences > Code Format > Tag Libraries to set up how you want your code to appear. Then use Command > Apply Source Formatting. It won't minify your code to the extent that other on-line minification tools will, but it might help a little.
Removing all white spaces from scripts can cause them to fail so I don't think doing a global Find & Replace is what you want.

I need to reinstall FrameMaker 11 after a system crash. At 99% of the installation process, I get the following message.
(For my understanding, downloading a new DistillrStarter.exe should solve the issue.

Hi Mylenium,
from the notifications, IMHO, FrameMaker installation failed because of a corrupt DistillrStart.exe file in the installer.
What I did not know, in the installation options, I could disable PDF maker.
I do not need this module, that is already installed with Acrobat Pro on my system.
In the support chat, I was not pointed to this, either. Although I asked if I really had to uninstall
all Adobe software from my system before re-installing, even Acrobat...
Thank God, my company's administration remembered this issue from a previous installation.

CO-PA issue in Thirds Party Sales & Cross Company Code Sales

In Third Party Sales with Shipping Notification and Cross Company Sales the CO-PA report is not reflecting the correct material cost. CO-PA is updating the material cost directly from the Material Master. Cross Company sales condition type PI02 & IV02 is using for pricing. IV02 is working perfect, but PI02 is not !
In detail, for Third Party Sales with Shipping Notification, no material is available in the stock. In material master the material cost display as $ 10/EA. But the Purchase Order value is $ 15/EA. During Goods Receipt time system is taking the cost as $ 15. While Billing time to the customer, system is posting to the CO-PA the material cost as $10/EA. FI postings are perfect, but CO-PA posting is not correct. CO-PA and P&L reconciliation is not matching due to this issue !
