Debugging flash with FlashFirebug
Hello All,
I'm reposting this from the Flash forum based on recommendations from the friendly folks there.
We're the developers of the open source FlashFirebug FireFox extension and would like to gauge opinions, critique and suggestions on improving the extension for future development. We thought there's no better place to do that than here where Flash/AS3 masterminds are found. This is the extension's homepage:

oh, my appologies. i thought the link was for the discussion. you're correct it would have been appropriate to comment here.
so, i'll start. i saw the op's message and installed flashfirebug. i didn't give it a fair run-through but i did test it. and while it may supply some info more useful than flashbug, i noticed objects were not being displayed with their instance names. after thinking about it, that was probably because i don't often assign a name to dynamically created objects. so, i was looking at flash default names without seeing their flash reference name. ie, something with reference name loader (and no name property) is listed as instanceXX which limits the amount of info gained. i could either change my coding habits or, is there some way to toggle reference names instead of instance names?

How can I make an ant file that launches an AS project app in a debug flash player that traces to the flex console?
Basically I like the control over the compiling process that I get by using Ant - but I really want traces to come up immediately without having to switch contexts.
I have an ant file that successfully launches a swf in the flashplayer - but I don't know how to make the flex console start displaying the trace output. I assume that I will have to point it to the appropriate trace output file - but I am not sure how to have ant even address the console. Is this possible?
Here is the the target node from my ANT file:

Stop and Play All Child MovieClips in Flash with Actionscript 3.0
I am stuck with the ActionScript here. I have a very complex animated flash movie for eLearning. These contain around 10 to 15 frames. In each frame I am having multiple movie clip symbols. The animation has been created using a blend of scripting and also normal flash animation.
Now I want to create pause and play functionality for the entire movie. I was able to create the pause function but when i try to play the movie it behaves very strange.

Help:How to publish a Flash with full screen HTML
Please, guys, be kind enough to teach me how to publish a
Flash with full screen size in HTML. I have tried to search the
board, but so far no luck.
Originally, I want my .SWF to keep changing its background.
The solution I got was placing colored stage-sized rectangles on
the bottom layer. Then I don't want the viewers to see the HTML
area where I cannot seem to control smooth color changes.
So, after I construct a Flash file with backdrop-color
changing by the method I mentioned above, how do I publish it with
full screen mode in HTML, as you can see
here? Help!

Flash with wmode="transparent" doesn't work with non-US keyboard (like FF)
Safari has the same issue as FireFox (which they are finally fixing) :

If you use Flash with wmode="transparent" then it treats all keyboards as if they are US keyboards.
For example try G.ho.st http://G.ho.st/vc.html with a non-US keyboardI too am having issues. I am using Shockwave Flash 11.4.402.287 on Firefox 16.0.1. I am running on Windows 7 Enterprise. Disabling the plugin allows me to load pages quickly, but I am not able to view videos or play games. Firefox freezes upon loading a page that uses Flash. It remains frozen for an unacceptable length of time, then it will unfreeze on its own accord. The freeze affects the entire computer. I cannot interact with the desktop or the Windows start bar, and can only close Firefox by forcibly ending the "firefox.exe" process via Task Manager.
This is not the first version of Firefox that has displayed this problem to me. Firefox 15 also froze upon using Flash.
I had hoped that the latest Firefox update would solve this problem, but apparently not. Until then, I am forced to use Chrome, which is quite inconvenient for me as I am not at all familiar with that browser and am constantly clicking the settings button when I want to to go to my home page.
These freezes are incredibly frustrating and annoying. If Mozilla wishes to build a better Internet, they should try to make their browser a program that doesn't tempt me towards rage-quitting YouTube. -
On start-up apple signal alternates/flashes with do not enter symbol
I have not been able to enter safe mode.
During startup tv apple flashes with the do not enter symbol. It goes on and on. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Text on some sites flash with yellow background
Since upgrading to 3.1.1 I've noticed that some pages have text areas that flash with a yellow background when loading or when an ad on that page changes. Huffingtonpost.com is the most common offender, but it has happened on other sites as well.
The yellow background "flash" seems to be contained within a box or frame in which the text sits. It's brief and then the background reverts to white.
Just to be clear, I'm not referring to any graphic that is Flash-based. I mean an area on the page that flashes a different color before reverting to its normal white.

Can KN3 export flash with sound?
I'm working on a presentation in KN2 and I need to export a .swf file with sound on each slide. I know I can export to Quicktime with sound, but I'm working with another company that only accepts a .swf files.
Is this fixed in KN3? Any suggestions on how to solve this in KN2?
Mac OS X (10.4.4)ok, I just bought KN3. Opened my KN2 file that has narration on each slide. Saved it in KN3. Exported to Flash with sound.
However at the end I got a error box. "The following problems occurred while trying save document. Export Warning- A media file in slide 1 was not exported" This error occurred with all of my slides.
My audio files were recorded in Quicktime 7.0 Pro as "mov". Should the audio files be saved as a different format for Exporting to Flash?
Can "kworley" let me know the audio format that worked? -

I have read all the news groups and it appears that WLS 4.5.1 does not
support debugging Servlets with Jbuilder 3.0.

Unable to debug procedure with parameters
I have created following dummy procedure to reproduce my problem

I am following these steps for debugging
1. Open procedure in edit mode
2. Compile it for debug with an icon “compile for debug”
3. Add breakpoint on select.
4. Click on lady bug icon to start debugging.
5. Parameter window pop-up with following pop-up error message i.e.
An error was encountered performing the requested operation:
Fail to convert to internal representation
Vendor code *17059*
What I understand about problem is:
It is related to data type conversion of parameters. When Oracle SQL Developer tries to create anonymous PL/SQL block for debugging any procedure with parameters it does not able to translate parameters data types properly. I have checked Tool--> Preferences -- > Debugger but did not find any help. Any one who could able to solve this issue?Dear K,

This PL/SQL block is generated by OSD for a procedure, not function, without parameters. I have to edit it like following to move on with debugging.
