Debugging in z RFC

hi,
i am extracting more fields from EKPO(source) than in target LT_EKKO?
how to correct this error?
how to add fields in that table?
thanks
Ruban

Hi Ruban
the two are incompatible.  EKPO is the PO line item and EKKO is the header.  For any PO you will have only 1 ekko record and one or more EKPO records.

  • Debugging with several RFC hops

I have a central application on system B, which is called from system A. The application needs in addition some special data again from A, so there is an RFC jump back to A ti get the required data,
In short: A calls B, B calls A back to get some data. I' able to set a breakpoint in B, and system stops. After that i'm unable to step into the rfc funcion call back to A, it always executs the FM in one step. Setting a breakpoint in A reveals the Message "Debugging not possible".
Am i doing something wrong or is there really a limit regarding the RFC hops? In this case, one RFC is working, but the second back to A doesnt stop at the breakpoint.
    Any idea?

    hi ruber
    good question
    try out like this
    core code modification required.
    in the standard program
    SAPMSSY1(subroutine pool)
In the form you need to insert a code like this.
    FORM REMOTE_FUNCTION_CALL USING VALUE(TYPE).
      DO.
CALL 'RfcImport' ID 'Type' FIELD TYPE.
    ***inserted
        perform check_for_debug in program XXXXXXXXXXXX.
    ***inserted
        PERFORM (SY-XFORM) IN PROGRAM (SY-XPROG).
        RSYN >SCONT SYSC 00011111 0.
      ENDDO.
    ENDFORM.
and the XXXXXXXXXX program is in turn a subroutine pool
    form check_for_debug.
      TABLES: *******.
      SY-SUBRC = 0.
      WHILE SY-SUBRC = 0.
        SELECT SINGLE *
               FROM ******
               WHERE UNAME = SY-UNAME
                 AND FNAME = SY-XFORM.
        if sy-subrc = 0.
          do 1000 times.
          enddo.
        endif.
      ENDWHILE.
    endform.
And in the z table you can create a 2 fields for which you can maintain table maintenance generator and in that you can add your RFC user.
and in these both systems this is should be maintained
and for this a heavy effort was put up by me
    is it ok 4 you
    try out
    all the best

  • RFC Adapter Debug

I would like to trigger a debug in the backend R/3 system for an RFC coming in through the RFC adapter in XI 2.0.  Does anyone know how this is done.  I suspect that it should be an option in the RFC Adapter configuration similar to RfcAdapter.trace, but I cannot seem to find one.

    Hi,
I also wanted to debug the RFC coming from BW system to XI. We raised an oss note to SAP , and they said that its not a background job , but it is a module pool . So I am also stuck over here.
The only debug option is RFC trace Log file , where in the end it gives a message , what went wrong .
    Thanks,

  • How to debug Adaptive RFC

    hi folks,
How to debug an adaptive RFC connection and plz leave some idea about the Bapi_Input and Bapi_output structures
    thanks in advance
    nikhil

    Hi
If you want to debug the backend then put and external breakpoint in the abap code.
make your jco connect to a single instance
login using the user which is configured for jco.
    For the front end
put a break point in your code before you call the execute method on the RFC and after it and use the debug perspective to evaluate the values.

  • Internet Sales 4.0 RFC specific debugging problems

    Hi all!
Has anyone succeeded in using the modification-config.xml file to debug a single given stateless RFC function set as a parameter to the following structure:
    <param name="jco.client.abap_debug.func" value=""/>
We have succeeded in debugging all by just setting the following in place:
    <param name="jco.client.abap_debug" value="true"/>
But if we try to debug a single RFC by specifying as per the documentation:
    <param name="jco.client.abap_debug.func" value="RFC_GET_FUNCTION_INTERFACE"/>
The ABAP debugger does not get launched. We have tried this with a number of functions, in upper and lower case characters, etc. but this only seems to work if we choose to debug all the RFCs by leaving the value parameter empty.
Again: Are we missing something here or is does this just not work? Could this have something to do with the JCO downgrade that SAP had us do for the SP6 release?

    Hi,
The following threads could be of help:
    Re: Internet Sales 4.0 (R/3 Edition) & ECC 6.0
    Upgrading ECC5.0 to ECC6.0 and Internet Sales ISA4.0 CRM4.0
The JCO settings need to be configured and pay special attention to the password issues (lowercase causes the login to fail)

  • RFC Call not returning in normal exec;retunrs in debugger

    Hi all
i m sorry for posting it twice, due to my ignorance
i first posted it in wrong forum
i had a requirement to invoke a RFC Async and recieve the results in my program with a condition that the name and parameters of RFC are determined runtime.
To meet this requirement, i generated a the RFC call and return form code dynamically and called that code from my program via a subroutine.
The problem i am facing is that, whenever i execute my program in debug mode the RFCs are called and the parameters are returned( perform on end of task edition is used)
via subroutine, but when i execute the code via F8 the program goes in indefinite wait for return parameters.I am calling 2-3 RFcs at same time, and all of them are on local host.
the Functions are working well and the RFC destination is also working well.
But this amalgum of my program and dynamic calls is not going through.
I read in documentation that if we change the program context or the roll area then the results are not recieved by main program. by the way i am using WAIT to receive the results.
For the moment if i consider, my program context or roll area is getting changed because of dynamic code generation then also the dynamically generated code is the one containing the RFC call and its revieve subroutine, therefore there shall be no problem with that, the other thought i am getting is that in debugger implict commit work happens, is the program working because of that in debugger?? i dont know....
Can any one help me with this, in the above long paragraph if anyone gets confused..i can again try to restate my problem.
One more thing..i have checked the ST22 and SM50 for any abnormalities, couold not find one.
    thanks in advance
    praveen

WAIT statement also triggers a DB commit like debugger.
Are you using WAIT UNTIL <condition>?

    Greetings Experts,
I'm having trouble with calling an RFC with table input.
Here is my code so far:

I can call the RFC, it actually returns a value, but not one that I expect. I think the table data is not being passed at all?
Ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    HI
try for external debugging of you RFC , and whether you are able to pass you data to the RFC ,

                                  new com.kaisa.mwci.models.updatezpsmur.Zps_War());
// here instead of creating a element ,  there would be some Class

                   ZIIm_Warmatin   target = new IIm_WarmatinElement();
                      target.set(...);
                     wdcontext.nodeIIm_Warmatin.bind(target);
try this .          or  you can set the source data to the element created for the target .
           hopefully should work

  • Custom Metadata Extension with RFC call

    Hi all,
I am trying to create a custom metadata extension that pulls data from ECC via an RFC call and returns values as a IMetaValueList in the getAllowedValues method.
    Does anybody have any experience?
    Thx
    Ismail

    Hello Sanjeev,
    - I Kept External break point in SRM where we are calling RFC Call for ECC, I am able to debug untill the RFC call,
    - But, on RFC Call ( CALL FUNCTION ZABC destination <Destination>), when I press F5 it is not going inside the function module.
    - I am getting Export parameter values, means ctrl is going to ECC, but not able to debugg our BE system -ECC.
Pls suggest. Thanks for your quick reply.

    Hi,
i have made some changes to the SAP developed webdynpro application as per the requirement,
when the user changes the personal information in the ESS personal information screen the Standard RFC is getting called but, if the user made any chanegs to the First name or last name or martial status the Z rfc is getting called and the work flow triggers and the notification will go to the corresponding manager for approval once the manager approves the request then the changes will appear in the portal and also saved in the backend system.
bu while making changes the first name and last name or martial status and clicking the save button the following error is coming,

i have checked in the backend the RFC is available and executed successfully.
    Cheers,
    Apparao

    Hi
did you check the RFC in the backend with the same inputs ,  is it working fine .
RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE An exception occurred that was not caught ,
this would occur if there is problem from your RFC side ,
put the code inthe try catch and try to test the application(which you are passing to the RFC) ,
instead of  application throwing  the runtime exception , you would figure out the exact exception .
even  check the RFC in the backend with the same values you are passing , and execute the RFC .
or  even you can put a external debugging where the RFC get called and check whether the
values are  passed to the RFC , or other thing you can do it test the application inthe webdynpro
with hard cording the values .

  • JNI calls using dll build in DEBUG mode

I have deployed a filter which loads a dll in the init method. The dll is build in DEBUG mode. The doFilter() method is never called. But If I build the same dll with out DEBUG parameter the doFilter() method is called. what is the issue? I need to debug the dll by attaching it to Visual Studio.

    > i had a requirement to invoke a RFC Async and recieve
    > the results in my program ...
That is not possible. When you call an RFC async, you cannot receive the result of the RFC. If you want the results, you have to call the RFC syncronously.
When you debug, the debugger calls the RFC synchronously, to enable you the debugging of the RFC.

  • VERTEX RFC server not available

Hi we are using vertex on crm 6.
we have ocnfigured vertex and when i m creating order, im getting error VERTEX RFC server not available.. in crmd_order tcode
how to debug the vertex RFC calls? where can this error be raised. how to debug?? is there any way?

Yes, SM59 connection is working fine.
Basically i have checked hte SM53 use exit logs and it is showing exception thrown
The Java user exit is throwing exception while calling RFC: RFC_CALCULATE_TAXES_DOC as tphost missing and RFC_INVALID_PARAMETER(19) in the SM53 logs.
The java user exit: com.sap.taxes.taxCall.ExternalTaxCalculationRFC is where it is calling above RFC and when it is doing function.execute it is throwing this exception.

  • RFC output node always empty

    Hi Experts,
I created a web dynpro program and i've verified that the data i'm passing as input to the RFC is correct. however, no matter what input to the RFC though, the output node is always empty. What could I be missing that would cause the output node to be empty?
    Cheers,
    Alfonso

    hi
have you checked  in the backend by passing same input to the RFC  and is the RFC
giving you the data in the output node. , check the mandatory parameters in the RFC
and you can even ask your ABAPer to give the TEST data to pass to the RFC from the
      webdynpro .
try to hard code the data with data taken from abaper and check whether RFC is giving you the
data ,  even try to debug the application , provide a external debugging in the RFC and
and perform external debugging and check the data getting passed to all the mandatory parameter
    and the output node .

  • Help with XI calling an RFC

    Hello Experts,
I have inherited the following situation that is currently not working - and I need to resolve it.  We have a 3rd party program that stores data in a MySQL 5.0 database.  A java proxy server is set up to send jobs from that database to XI.  Then XI is supposed to call an RFC on our SAP 6.40 system.  Somewhere along the way there is a problem.  I can debug the ABAP RFC code myself, but the problem is before any job gets to the RFC.  How can I tell if the RFC is being called at all?  How can I tell if jobs are being stored in a queue on XI?
Any help as to where to begin would be greatly appreciated.  I am very new to XI, so even things you might think are obvious would help.

There are some cases when re-executing the message makes it pass successfully.
For such errors, just schedule the program RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES, so that such messages can be re-started and don't block a queue.
you've to set the parameter MONITOR/QRFC_RESTART_ALLOWED to 1.
Now Coming back to Queues getting Blocked I dont hink Queue Prioritization is a ggod Idea, We have to manually Deal with Queues and the Data in Ind, remember if are force to delete any data from the Queues Delete the Complete LUW rather then individual message.

But how exactly can I create when T90CLNT is not active? Help please.
Yes, you would need to check with BASIS team how they have created an alternate source system (for debugging) & prepare a RFC b/n these systems. Can you just check the settings in the source system and BI source system...and check the source system for the same BI system. Right click > Check and then do a restore or take the help of basis to fix it. What I think is a possible solution is : RSA1 > Source system > Search System > Right Click > Activate
