    HOW CAN I UPDATE THE FIELD:cust_geo_location,
    WHICH TYPE IS: SDO_GEOMETRY;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

    Hi Guys,
    Dont forget to close your stmt and connection after execution
    Use this as a template if you like:
    try{
         /**make connection**/
         ServerConnection sc = new ServerConnection();
    Statement stmt = sc.conn.createStatement();
    /**create statement & execute**/
    String insertstmt = "insert into .......";
    //execute
    stmt.execute(insertstmt);
    /**Close and catch exception**/
    stmt.close();
    sc.conn.close();
    catch(SQLException sqlE){
         sqlE.printStackTrace();
         System.out.println(sqlE.getMessage());
    As for the string "insertstmt" itself, this is where your standard SQL statement goes
    So get it working using a standard SQL editor first, then copy and paste it in to this string variable. The string should be a series of concatenated strings and variables to recreate the SQL atatement in Java. For example
    the SQL statement:
    insert into Mytable(SESSIONID, TIME1) values ('300', '4.45pm' );
    assuming the values are stored in variables called 'sessionnumber' and 'time'
    will become
    String stmt =
    "insert into Mytable(SESSIONID, TIME1) values ('"+sessionnumber+"', '"+time+"')";
    Hope this helps.
    E
    Ps. Do a system.out.println after you create the stmt. The statement printed out to the console should be a valid SQL statement that you can use in your editor. (minus the ;)
    ...keep working on the string until you can do this.

  • Best option to push Mass data using Java API

    Hi All,
    Can any one let me know how Java API push data to MDM? Is it a good option when ti comes to perfromance point of view? We have around 2000/5000 records to be imported every time using Java API and wondering what would be best way to acheive this using Java API?
    Is java API is best option than Web services?
    Thanks
    Rajeev

    Rajeev,
    It is perfectly fine to use API to push data into MDM, you just need to make sure that your API does all those tasks which import manager does by default. For example, it should know when to insert and when to update. if an error happens during insertion of record, you should be able to notify the users.
    Having said that, where does the number 2000/5000 comes in? will you be creating users in batch and then invoke MDM API to store these in a single shot or willl it be a delta insert/update from Java to MDM?
    Thanks
    Aamir

  • Is it possible to run Go URL SQL and return raw data using Java?

    Hi All,
    I just got GO URL SQL working in HTML, when i type the following URL on to the address bar.
    https://odsau.oraclecorp.com/analytics/saw.dll?Go&SQL=select+"MFG Serial Number"."Job Name","MFG Serial Number".Item+from+"Supply Chain Management"
    It prints out a table with all the data that query from the database in a HTML page. However, I want to be able to manipulate these data in a JAVA script.
    Is there a similar function i can use in Java script and return raw data so i can store them into a variable for data manipulation?
    Or is there a work around that someone has already done ?
    Thanks

    You can excute SQL statemetns throught JDBC, but that doesn't have a facility to read those statements from a file. You'd have to write code to read the file and create and execute statements through JDBC. That should be pretty straightforward though.
    It's conceivable that there's a third party library out there that does it, if you know what to look for.
    If you're not familiar with JDBC, check out http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Database/JDBC20Intro/

  • How to read data using SQLGetData from a block, forward-only cursor (ODBC)

    Hi there.  I am trying to read data a small number of rows of data from either a Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server (whichever is being used) as quickly as possible.  I have connected to the database using the ODBC API's and have run a select
    statement using a forward-only, read-only cursor.  I can use either SQLFetch or SQLExtendedFetch (with a rowset size of 1) to retrieve each successive row and then use SQLGetData to retrieve the data from each column into my local variables.  This
    all works fine.
    My goal is to see if I can improve performance incrementally by using SQLExtendedFetch with a rowset size greater than 1 (block cursor).  However, I cannot figure out how to move to the first of the rowset returned so that I can call SQLGetData to retrieve
    each column.  If I were using a cursor type that was not forward-only, I would use SQLSetPos to do this.  However, using those other cursor types are slower and the whole point of the exercise is to see how fast I can read this data.  I can
    successfully read the data using a block forward only cursor if I bind each column to an array in advance of the call to SQLExtendedFetch.  However, that has several drawbacks and is documented to be slower for small numbers of rows.  I really
    want to see what kind of speed I can achieve using a block, forward-only, read-only cursor using SQLGetData to get each column.
    Here is the test stub that I created:
    ' Create a SELECT statement to retrieve the entire collection.
    selectString = "SELECT [Year] FROM REAssessmentRolls"
    ' Create a result set using the existing read/write connection. The read/write connection is used rather than
    ' the read-only connection because it will reflect the most recent changes made to the database by this running
    ' instance of the application without having to call RefreshReadCache.
    If (clsODBCDatabase.HandleDbcError(SQLAllocStmt(gDatabase.ReadWriteDbc, selectStmt), gDatabase.ReadWriteDbc, errorBoxTitle) <> enumODBCSQLAPIResult.SQL_SUCCESS) Then
    GoTo LoadExit
    End If
    Call clsODBCDatabase.HandleStmtError(SQLSetStmtOption(selectStmt, SQL_CONCURRENCY, SQL_CONCUR_READ_ONLY), selectStmt, errorBoxTitle)
    Call clsODBCDatabase.HandleStmtError(SQLSetStmtOption(selectStmt, SQL_CURSOR_TYPE, SQL_CURSOR_FORWARD_ONLY), selectStmt, errorBoxTitle)
    Call clsODBCDatabase.HandleStmtError(SQLSetStmtOption(selectStmt, SQL_ROWSET_SIZE, MAX_ROWSET_SIZE), selectStmt, errorBoxTitle)
    If (clsODBCDatabase.HandleStmtError(SQLExecDirect(selectStmt, selectString, Len(selectString)), selectStmt, errorBoxTitle) <> enumODBCSQLAPIResult.SQL_SUCCESS) Then
    GoTo LoadExit
    End If
    ' Cursor through result set. Each time we fetch data we get a SET of rows.
    sqlResult = clsODBCDatabase.HandleStmtError(SQLExtendedFetch(selectStmt, SQL_FETCH_NEXT, 0, rowsFetched, rowStatus(0)), selectStmt, errorBoxTitle)
    Do While (sqlResult = enumODBCSQLAPIResult.SQL_SUCCESS)
    ' Read all rows in the row set
    For row = 1 To rowsFetched
    If rowStatus(row - 1) = SQL_ROW_SUCCESS Then
    sqlResult = clsODBCDatabase.HandleStmtError(SQLSetPos(selectStmt, row, SQL_POSITION, SQL_LOCK_NO_CHANGE), selectStmt, errorBoxTitle)
    Call clsODBCDatabase.SQLGetShortField(selectStmt, 1, assessmentRollYear(row - 1))
    Console.WriteLine(assessmentRollYear(row - 1).ToString)
    End If
    Next
    ' If the rowset we just retrieved contains the maximum number of rows allowed, there could be more data.
    If rowsFetched = MAX_ROWSET_SIZE Then ' there could be more data
    sqlResult = clsODBCDatabase.HandleStmtError(SQLExtendedFetch(selectStmt, SQL_FETCH_NEXT, 0, rowsFetched, rowStatus(0)), selectStmt, errorBoxTitle)
    Else
    Exit Do ' no more rowsets
    End If
    Loop ' Do While (sqlResult = enumODBCSQLAPIResult.SQL_SUCCESS)
    The test fails on the call to SQLSetPos.  The error message I get is "Invalid cursor position; no keyset defined".  I have tried passing SET_POSITION and also SET_REFRESH.  Same error.  There has to be a way to do this!
    Thank you for your help!

  • Writing the file using Write to SGL and reading the data using Read from SGL

    Hello Sir, I have a problem using the Write to SGL VI. When I am trying to write the captured data using DAQ board to a SGL file, I am unable to store the data as desired. There might be some problem with the VI which I am using to write the data to SGL file. I am not able to figure out the minor problem I am facing.  I am attaching a zip file which contains five files.
    1)      Acquire_Current_Binary_Exp.vi -> This is the VI which I used to store my data using Write to SGL file.
    2)      Retrive_BINARY_Data.vi -> This is the VI which I used to Read from SGL file and plot it
    3)      Binary_Capture -> This is the captured data using (1) which can be plotted using (2) and what I observed is the plot is different and also the time scare is not as expected.
    4)      Unexpected_Graph.png is the unexpected graph when I am using Write to SGL and Read from SGL to store and retrieve the data.
    5)      Expected_Graph.png -> This is the expected data format I supposed to get. I have obtained this plot when I have used write to LVM and read from LVM file to store and retrieve the data.
    I tried a lot modifying the sub VI’s but it doesn’t work for me. What I think is I am doing some mistake while I am writing the data to SGL and Reading the data from SGL. Also, I don’t know the reason why my graph is not like (5) rather I am getting something like its in (4). Its totally different. You can also observe the difference between the time scale of (4) and (5).

    The binary data file has no time axis information, it is pure y data. Only the LVM file contains information about t(0) and dt. Since you throw away this information before saving to the binary file, it cannot be retrieved.
    Did you try wiring a 2 as suggested?

  • Access database using Java from HTML webpage

    Hi,
    I've got to create some online maths tests to be taken by students with their marks being stored in a database.
    I've wrote some simple java code which can add/remove and modify entries in a test mySQL database that I made. What I now need to do is be able to add entries to the database from a html page.
    The math tests will be java applets with the students having to interact according to questions, press submit and their score will be output. The score will then be entered into the database.
    The problem I'm having is that with an Applet their are all sorts of security issues (I'm having problems getting images to load in an Applet) so assume I'll face the same security issues when I try to access a database through an applet.
    So, could someone please help get started.
    Cheers

    MVC - I assume you mean model-view-control and not Marvel vs Capcom :)
    If so then does this mean I should completely seperate the user interface (the actual applets that will contain the test), the database (that will store the results) and the link between the two?
    is it possible to acheive this using Java, Java Applets, Java Script and the database (in my case mySQL) and could you give me some tips on how best to tackle the problem.
    Thanks

  • Using java from command prompt

    Hi, I have used command prompts for a long time, though not recently. But this has never happenned to me, and I may have been using a different OS the last time I really used a command prompt. I am currently running Windows XP.
    Anyways, when I try to simply change a directory, you know cd "filename", it tells me:
    Parameter format not correct - "filename"
    Basically, it won't accept any strings as a parameter. I'm really surprised at this. Is this normal? In any case, I got around this by using the short names for files. For example, I used the name docume~1 instead of "documents and settings".
    Then, when I got to the folder where my java files were stored, it told me it was an invalid directory but nonetheless allowed me to use it. However, no commands worked except for cd..
    Java did not work, nor did basic commands like dir or help. Do you have any idea what is wrong with my command prompt? I know this is not specifically a question about Java, but I can't use Java without this.
    thanks.

    Basically, it won't accept any strings as a parameter.

    Check that you are using cmd.exe not command.com. Ie, from
    Start->Run... typecmdAnd not command.
    Try the javac command and if the computer says'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.then will have to set your OS path (not CLASSPATH - do not set
    CLASSPATH at any time or the command prompt will likely never work
    again).

  • Problem with setting date using java 1.4.2

    Is this a bug?
    under java 1.4.2,
    executing System.out.println(new java.util.Date("01-JAN-1950")) displays
    Sun Jan 01 00:10:00 SGT 1950
    but under java 1.3.1 the same statement displays as Sun Jan 01 00:00:00 SGT 1950 which is the desired result.

    I'm just citing an example using Date().
    In fact, whether I use DateFormat or Calendar, it shows the same result.
    When I set the date to 1 Jan 1950 0 hours 0 minutes 0 seconds,
    jdk1.4.2 will always return me 1 Jan 1950 0 hours 10 minutes 0 seconds.
    It works correctly under jdk1.3.1
