Is it possible to run Go URL SQL and return raw data using Java?

Hi All,
I just got GO URL SQL working in HTML, when i type the following URL on to the address bar.
https://odsau.oraclecorp.com/analytics/saw.dll?Go&SQL=select+"MFG Serial Number"."Job Name","MFG Serial Number".Item+from+"Supply Chain Management"
It prints out a table with all the data that query from the database in a HTML page. However, I want to be able to manipulate these data in a JAVA script.
Is there a similar function i can use in Java script and return raw data so i can store them into a variable for data manipulation?
Or is there a work around that someone has already done ?
Thanks
John Lau

You can excute SQL statemetns throught JDBC, but that doesn't have a facility to read those statements from a file. You'd have to write code to read the file and create and execute statements through JDBC. That should be pretty straightforward though.
It's conceivable that there's a third party library out there that does it, if you know what to look for.
If you're not familiar with JDBC, check out http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Database/JDBC20Intro/

    Hi All,
Just wondering if it is possible to run netflow version 9 and version 5 at the same time (to different destinations) on the same router please?
    Thanks very much

    No Amanda,
we cannot simultaneously configure both versions of NETFLOW on cisco ios. After configuring firstone when you try to configure other version it will override the previously configured version.

Is it possible to transfer music between iPhones and iPods with out using iTunes

Nope.  Both require iTunes on a computer to sync music from.
Unless the iPod is an iPod Touch and the music was bought from iTunes.  In which case the Touch can simply go to the iTunes App, under Purchased  and download the purchased songs for free.

  • Write / store xml data in Xe and retrieve stored data using pl/sql

    Hi to all,
    i'm searching a tutorial on:
A - how to write / store xml data in Xe and retrieve stored data using pl/sql
I don't want to use other technologies, because i use htmldb and my best practice is with pl/sql.
I was reading an ebook (quite old maybe) however it's about oracle 9 and it's talking about xmltype:
1 - I don't understand if this is a user type (clob/varchar) or it's integrated in Oracle 9 however i will read it (it's chapter 3 titled Using Oracle xmldb).
Please dont'reply here: i would be glad if someone can suggest me a good tutorial / pdf to achieve task A in Oracle XE.
    Thanx

    Thank you very much Carl,
However my fault is that i've not tried to create the table via sql plus.
Infact i was wrong thinking that oracle sql developer allows me to create an xmltype column via the create table tool.
however with a ddl script like the following the table was created successfully.
    create table example1
    keyvalue varchar2(10) primary key,
    xmlcolumn xmltype
Thank you very much for your link.

A 10.5 era machine is better left on 10.6.8
I don't advise upgrading it to 10.7 as you'll have to buy all new versions of software for a older model machine, some are not ready yet and some of your third party driver software may not be available for your other hardware.
10.7 is slower and requires 4GB of RAM actually.
10.8 is being released this summer and it won't run on certain older graphic cards, so shortly you will be behind again.
Save your money for a new 10.8 machine. IMO
These rapid OS X upgrades are for those who like to be on the cutting edge and can afford to buy new hardware often, you didn't even upgrade to 10.6, so your not that sort of person obviously.
But you do need to upgrade to 10.6 for security issues and faster video. It will run your 10.5 Rosetta software, but 10.7 will not.

  • Running Multiple SQL in a Single Worksheet: Can I Selectively Run a Single SQL and Append Output?

In any release of SD, if I have a single worksheet containing 10 sqls. Is it possible to place the cursor on any of the sql and run only that sql, yet, append its output to existing output window. I can then select another sql and execute it and keep appending output. In other words, do not clear existing output or start a new output tab.
As it exists today (in any release), I can either 'run script' which does append, but it executes all the sql (non-selective). Alternately, I can 'run statement' to selectively run a single sql, but it will clear the output window (or if pinned), start a new one. None of this is what I want.
    Thank you.

Select the query you want to run. Execute it via F5. Then highlight the next query and repeat.
The output will append to the Script Output panel.
There's no way to get 2 queries to share a grid, unless you were to run them as a single query a la UNION.

  • Can i run all the SQL And PL/SQL in Oracle SQL Developer?

    hi all
I have heard that Oracle Sql Developer is a free editor for Oracle DB from Oracle.
Is it possible to run all the the procedres and functions in that editor
is there any limitation for that ,can i run all the things that we can run on the SQL Plus
if anybody knows please let me know
    thanks & regards

    Interesting way of putting it.
When it comes to SQL and PL/SQL, SQLPlus and SQL Developer do not really 'run' very much.
Most of the time, these things are just shells that pass the SQL and PL/SQL requests to the appropriate engine (database) which will run the command.
    The challenges are:
    - will the shell interpret the request as something to pass to an engine?
    - will the shell display the response from the engine appropriately?
For answers to those questions, TongucY provided approriate links.

  • Is it possible to run LabVIEW 7.1 and 8.5 under the same Windows installation?

We have an older version of LabVIEW (7.1) which includes functionality for Event Notifications and the base version of LV8.3, which does not seem to contain this functionality.
Is it possible to run both of these from the same Windows Installation?  If not I plan to create a new partition and a new Windows installation just to accomodate the two of them.

Something else to consider is windows compatibility. If you are running LabVIEW on Vista, I would highly discourage installation of Lv 7.1 and 8.5 on the same machine (even if they were different partitions), since there are some significant issues in terms harware compatibility.I am running windows 7.1 and 8.2.1 on a test station with no problems, but the OS is Win XP. My biggest gripe about the dual software system is when a v 7.1 files is opened up by 8.2.1. There is not a system to prevent it from happening, and once we accidentally save a 7.1 app in 8.2,1, going back to 7.1 is a big headache.

    Hello John,
You have not given the database version you are using. If it is Oracle Database 10g Release 3 or higher then you can go with DBMS_SCHEDULER and schedule your script to run periodically.
Following is the Oracle Database 11g Release 2 documentation for DBMS_SCHEDULER:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e25788/d_sched.htm#CIHHBGGI
I found the following blog post of @Tobias Arnhold helpful while creating my first scheduled job:
    http://www.apex-at-work.com/2009/06/dbmsscheduler-examples.html
If you are looking for APEX built-in solution then here is one using APEX_PLSQL_JOB :
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_plsql_job.htm#BGBFGBIB
But I will suggest DBMS_SCHEDULER over APEX_PLSQL_JOB as DBMS_SCHEDULER package has more fine tuning facilities regarding scheduling than the APEX_PLSQL_JOB.
    Hope it helps!

    Kiran

  • Auto Run ignores URL parameters and uses Defaults on first run

We have BI Publisher 11g standalone (not OBIEE).
We have a suite of BI Publisher reports, all set up on data sets with default parameters.
All reports have Auto Run enabled and caching disabled.
The reports are run from a Flex UI application using a URL i.e. URLVariables and URLRequest and navigateToURL.
The required parameters for any report are read from BI Publisher using the web services, then the user makes their selections in our custom UI.
    We use:
                             urlVariables['_xpf'] = null;
                             urlVariables['_xpt'] = 0;
                             urlVariables['_xf'] = 'html';
                             urlVariables['_xmode'] = 1;
The first time any user runs any report in the application the report is generated but with the default parameters NOT their selected values, and it displays the parameter controls when the settings as per above say it should NOT.
Any report generation after that is fine - it runs with the user's nominated parameters values, and it does not display the parameter controls.
Originally we thought it might be caching so along with all report caching settings being disabled, we introduced a parameter to force the uniqueness of each report URL i.e.
                             urlVariables['noCache'] = new Date().getTime();
In Safari, if we Reset Safari then restart the app in the same browser window we can reproduce the problem.
    Any suggestions please?
    Thanks

I'm not sure where the "Enable Document Cache" setting is?
All reports have caching disabled - so for each report in its Report Properties, all items on the Caching tab are checked off.
    i.e.
    Enable Data Caching - off
    User Level - off
    Document Caching - off

  • Is it possible to run OPM 10.4 and 10.2 on same PC?

Our team is dealing with rules designed for 10.2, but would like to see if we can leverage some of the new 10.4 debugging and testing features. For various reasons, we can't just update the rulebase and tools to 10.4 for several months, so we are stuck developing in 10.2
I would like to run the two in tandem, if possible, but the installer throws an error demanding that the previous version of OPM be uninstalled.
I understand I might be stuck finding an additional PC to test with, but figured if anyone has tried this, it's worth asking about.

OPM 10.4 and OPM 10.2 can't both be installed on the same instance of Windows. Many people use a virtualization solution like Oracle's VirtualBox to run both versions on the same physical machine.
