Defaul values and hide fields in SQ01

Hi does anyone know if it is possible (and if yes, how??) to set default values for specific fileds in a query and then hide the filed in the selection screen?

Hi,
Please follow the following steps.
Step - a.
1. Go to transaction SQ02.
2 Give the infoset name(which is assigned to your sap query in SQ01), go to change mode
3. there will be a selections button on the toolbar, click on that.
4. It will open a window there you can give the attributes whether wou want in disable mode or hidden mode.
5. then go to code tab, which is just after the selections tab. give the default value to the parameters.
step - b.
Execute the SAP Query, save a variant, where you can give the default values and hide any field.
then go to SQ01, give the query name, go into change mode and then give the standard variant name.

Hi Hari,
If you choose Select fields, you'll be able to filter this IO in Selection tab of infopackage (set IO's value(s) to be loaded).
In case of hide field you'll not have it in the transfer structure at all.

Dropdownlist box value and display field retrieval question

have a case on a dropdown list where I want to not only retieve the value from the selected item, but I also want to retrieve the display field. I know that you use the the tempDropdownlist.getValue() to get the value, but how do you retrieve the display field?
The dropdown box is bound to a table with id(int) and Name(string).

Yes there's no easy way - but you can loop thru the select items list and find the one that matches the current getValue result... and get it that way - see the tutorial on Using Listbox Components...

Javascript and hide and show.

Is there any way to hide single item on the form (not region)?
I have tried to hide an item based on the condition.
I have radiobutton with value 1 and 0 so I have created on click event that check its value and hides item but:
the item that I want to hide is a date item with the datepicker option. What happens that item is hidden but label and datepicker icon stays.
here is the code

$x_Hide(elementNameToHide); will only hide the element.
To hide label .. edit the label of the itme.eg. suppose lable is MY_LABEL make it
[span id="my_lable_id"]MY_LABEL[span] ( replce [ and ] with < and > )
and make ur javascript code to
$x_Hide(elementNameToHide);
$x_Hide('my_label_id');

Planned value and Basis in Sales Deal VK11/12/13

Hi Friends,
I am creating Sale Deals condition type record in transaction VK11. I attached material in deal condition and when I go to "Detail" of that attached material item I am not able to see "Planned Values" frame and its component in screen. Could you please help solve this problem?
Steps for Reconstruction
1. Execute transaction VK11
2. Enter condition type as "Sales Deal" (KA00)
3. In next screen enter appropriate " Sales Org", "DC", and "Customer"
4. In the same screen look at "Customer/Material with release status" frame of table control
5. Enter appropriate material and amount and hit <Enter>
6. Select the item/row of the entered material and hit <F6> or click <Detail> icon in application toolbar.
7. In the next screen the frame < Planned Values> and its fields like <Planned Basis> and < Planned Value> are missing.
Does anyone know about this situation and can help on this?

Try this..Go to t-code V/04 -Change condition table of ur appropriate access sequence..input ur Table number which description u want to change and press enter...
inside u can see table number on top and its description..near to this description u can find "propose/maintain text icon" enter ur description and save...
Now try in VK11..

Hide subtotal based on the values not the field.

i am developing an ALV(FM) report to display the status of the Sale order (cleared and not cleared). my need in this is
1. i need to show the subtotal of the cleared sales orders values only and hide the not cleared SO values.
2. while sorting by status, i want to show the status for each rows rather than displaying on the whole.
please provide me some hints for this.

Dynamically show and hide detail columns according to master column value

i want to create a page where 2 level master detail.
that is main master region with search option for query (query region)
2nd detail with table
and 3rd detail. (1-2-3)
Here in 3rd detail region, some fields should be shown and some fields hide according to the value of one filed in 2nd detail table(for the current selected row).

show/hide is only beneficial if its optioanl for user to hide or show the fields at your detail region.If it is not , you will have to use PPR and transient VO approach.

HCM interactive Forms - hide fields and backend connection

we plan to implement a personnel transfer workflow based on interactive forms. Because in one step the user should not be able to see a couple of fields, it is possible in interactive forms zu hide fields based on the users role?
I read a lot the last days but what I still havent found out and I hope you can push me in the right direction is, how the connection between backend and Form is working.
Inside of an example form and in the documentation is descriped to use this below code to implement a bushbutton and the send message to create a server round trip. But if I create 2 pushbuttons with the same code, how do I know which button was pressed? Or do I have to create my own events somewhere? Or is there only this one event and I have to set a hidden field with some value via javascript or formcalc to find out whats going on in the form?

I'm not sure it will work - but its worth a try.
Every time i wont to hide some subforms or UI elements - I determine them as "invisible" by default - and when the conditions are right - I turn them to "visible" (negatively way).
Hopefully it will help you.

APEX 4.1 show hide fields based on value of checkbox/radio

I am trying to successfully hide and show fields based on the value of a clicked checkbox. I am using a dynamic action, but it isn't working.
I followed the sample at Does Oracle Apex 4 enable the following AJAX features? (ie without the dev writing the Javascript) - Stack Overflow
I even tried a radio button, but it didn't work. I cannot uncheck the radio button. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for any help you can provide.

     create a dynamic action for page load to hide the item which you wanna hide
     now create another dynamic action
     event : Click
     Selection Type : Items
     Items : P1_Check_box(name of the check box item)
     condition : equal to
     value : return value of the check box item (if you click the check box and the return value is 1 then just add 1)
     in true actions
     Action : Show
    Selection Type : Items
     Items : P1_Text_field(name of the field)
     uncheck fire on page load
     create exact opposite false action, that's it.

How to hide a field based on the value of a field in a different subform - null check doesn't work!

I'm using Javascript to set the actions. I need to hide a text field if the value of a field in another sub-form is null.
- tried checking the value of the other field for null - doesn't work
- tried setting a variable str2 where I know the value of the other field is available then checking that variable when I initialize the text field - doesn't work
What am I missing?

You can do this with "concatenate".
example:
In you code check where you final internal table is getting filled up before that do this concatenate and then append it.
data t_text type string.
t_text = textfield
CONCATENATE 'Xfield'
                 t_text
                  INTO wa_workarea SEPARATED BY space.

Question on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields in the MDT Wizard

Deploying Windows 7 via Offline Media (ISO) to MS Virtual PC's
I am looking on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields which are prepopulated in the MDT wizard via the CS.ini (Not so concerned about the Domain field as I am User Name and Password)
We do need the Computer Name and OU fields to be seen, so skipping the wizard is not a option
The client just does not want these fields to be seen by the end users, they dont want them to even know the account name used for adding the machine to the domain, of course the password is not displayed but it must not be displayed either.
But since we use the fields they must still be fuctional just not seen.

You shouldn't have to edit DeployWiz_Definition_ENU.xml. You should only need to add "SkipAdminPassword=YES" to the CS.ini file and your authentication information.

Refreshing the value of a field in a table and displaying it on the screen.

how do i mimimize calls to the database in the following scenario?
I need to show the latest value of a field in a table in a database through a java program. in a concurrent access environment, there are chances of multiple users getting stale values. how do I overcome this problem through code?
please advise.

There are many ways of doing this. However its worth noting that RDBMS database are not messaging, event driven systems and are not best suited to do what you want to do. You should only consider doing this if you have a low rate of changes.
You can
- Poll the database table and look for changes.
- Add a trigger to the table to record the keys which have changed. The have a query to find just the key which have changed.
- When a field changes, also send a broadcast/topic message.
- Add a trigger which sends a JMS message when a change occurs. (This is entirely DB/JMS specific, you need to find if this is possible)
Again, databases are not ideally suited to event driven, real time updates. There is no simple, clean solution.

How do I get a field to automatically select a value and change color based on another automatic field?

Here is the situation:
I have a row on a form called Finding Risk Rating. In this row are four fields: Probability, Severity, Risk Rating, Color.
Probability is a drop down menu with the following values: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Severity is a drop down menu with the following values: A, B, C, D, E
Risk Rating is a field that I have a custom calculation script:

So, when I pick Probability = 1 and Severity = D, Risk Rating will automatically change to 1D, etc. This works fine on the surface as far as I can tell.
The part where I am stuck, is the fourth field Color.
Ideally, I want Color to be automatically populated depending on the value of Risk Rating. For example, for 1E I would want it to say "YELLOW" and the field to change color to yellow. For 1A it would be "GREEN" with the color green, etc.
I tried doing an if else for all cases, but it never refreshes to the correct value. I then checked using app.alert to see what fields riskRating and colorRank are (see code below), and I noticed that riskRating never changes, even though the value in Risk Rating changes. Is there a way to order script(s) so that if I execute one, the other will follow? I'm new to scripting for forms and haven't done any programming in 10+ years, so feel free to rip my code in favor or something more efficient, or direct me to a good resource I can learn from.
Here's the basis of what I have for scripting on Color. It's brief because I wanted to test it out before writing every 'if else' statement.

One problem is if more than one combo box item has the same number associated with it, you cannot simply set the export value to the corresponding number since they need to be unique (or the user interface behaves weird). One thing you can do is set up an object to associate a list item with a value, and look up the value in code when a list item is selected.
