Default blank rows not shown

Hi there,
I created some master detail forms. When i'm pressing the add rows button the form navigates to the last row, the total rows number in the pagination box increases with 1, but no blank row is shown. Anybody any idea why?
Apex 3.0.1
Kind regards,
Martin Schaap

I have some new information, maybe this triggers someone.
In order to detect the problem, I dropped the master detail form and started all over again. After initial creation of te master detail form the 'Add row' button just worked fine. It also did after some replacement of the fields and adding lookups and formatting.
At last I added an 'search'-field and changed the query to support this search-field.
I entered a search criterium and pressed the 'Add rows' button. It still worked fine. After removing the search criterium all rows where displayed again, but the 'Add rows' button didn't work anymore. Assuming that perhaps something still remains in a buffer or whatever I expanded the query by adding 'or :PX_SEARCH IS NULL', but from this point nothing did help. Even after removing the search-field and restoring the query, the 'Add rows' button still didn't work. It goes to the last record(set) but no default blank line is shown anymore.

  • Identical names in subsequent rows not shown in ALV list

    hi,
    I am new to ABAP,
    i have developed a ALV Program to show the joiners and leavers of a Company,
    here everything works fine, except one thing,
    i have 10 number of colums, 1. PERNR 2.First Name 3.LAst Name 4. DOB ....
    in the Second column(First Name), if the names are similar, like 1.shane Lee  and 2.shane warne, the second persons first name is not getting displyed (that files is blank) but the last name , DOB and all works fine,
    i have used this code "rp_provide_from_last p0002".
    what are all the possibilities to correct this.
    Thanks

    By debugging after rp_provide statement you can ensure name is retrieved properly. If name in second line is not coming, please check whether you have used sort on this field in ALV.

  • Why are inserted rows not shown in order?

    Hi y'all,
    I'm doing some experimenting. I've set up a table with 3 columns: decimal digit, binary digit, and the difference in length between the former two. Then I wrote a small anonymous PL/SQL block with a single FOR loop. It takes in cycles every integer between 1 and 10000, and computes its binary value, the length difference, and then inserts the three (dec_num, bin_num, diff) into the table. However, the records are not in order! The first row after the run is number 1298! The number 1 is computed in the row number 303.
    When I change the code to only compute the numbers from 1 to 1000, everything is okay, but when I increase the upper border back to 10000, this weird ordering takes place. I understand there's some optimization and paralelism going on. But how do I steer it? It's really bothersome... TIA.
    code snippet:
    for dec_num in 1..10000 LOOP
    bin_num := dec2bin(dec_num);
    diff := length(bin_num) - length(to_char(dec_num));
    insert into correlation values (dec_num, bin_num, diff);
    end loop;

    Hello, thanks for the prompt answers, I don't request returning the rows in order, but would welcome having them inserted in order, in the first place! :) Of course, when I use ORDER BY to view the results, all is well. Is it really the only way?

  • Portal report - If rows returned are 1 greater than max,last row not shown

    We are experiencing what appears to be a bug with reports developed from a locally built Provider in Portal...
    If my "maximum rows to return" is set to 20, and my search returns 21 rows/results, the "next" button to navigate to the last row does not appear. Therefore, the last row is not returned to the user....
    We have been able to duplicate this with any number... For example, if we set the "max rows to be returned" to 59, and our results come back with 60 rows, neither the "next" button or last row are returned...
    Bug by chance?
    Thanks in advance for any help offered....

    Hi Varsha,
    Please pay attention when you are requesting motnly period for
    start date : 1st July 2008
    end date : 1st july 2008
    After saving the period is changed to
    Start Date : 7/1/2008
    End Date  : 7/31/2008
    When you are requesting weekly period for the same interval, after sving the dates are changed again, according
    you settings of first day of the week. It it is Monday it could be as following
    Start Date : 6/30/2008
    End Date  : 7/6/2008
    So you are asking data for not quite the same period.
    Do you have data for monthly period in that interval?

  • Export to excel. Subreport blank rows generated.

    Dear Forum
    Hoping you can help with a query.
    I have a report that has 3 subreports all are supressed if blank and not shown during preview or print.
    When i try and export the report to excel the returning result is a series of blank rows in excel.
    I know the subreports are the root cause of the issue as when each of them is supressed my blank row count reduces accordingly.
    Is this a know issue or is there indeed a resolution.
    Thank you forum for your assisatnce as ever
    With Kind Regards
    Paul Marks

    Hi Paul,
    Sorry to be a downer but It has been my experience that the more complex a report is the more problems I have when exporting especially to excel.
    Below is a link to the export limitations of Crystal 10...I haven't found a newer version for XI or 2008.  This document doesn't give an exact explanation for each limitation but sometimes it's enough to know that there is an issue related to exporting your report.  In your case there are limitations related to exporting suppressed items to an excel spreadsheet.
    [Crystal Reports 10 - Export Limitations|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/d0b01060-3a62-2b10-73a1-d03a6c634914]
    I don't know how much data you have but my suggestion is to try exporting your report to a csv file instead because suppression is not as much a problem when exporting to that format.  CSV files can be opened directly by Excel you are just missing any nice formatting.
    If you need a nicely formatted spreadsheet, create a standalone spreadsheet formatted the way you want and either paste in the data from your exported Crystal report or link to the data in the csv file.  I have found this type of conversion takes a little longer to set up but is much easier to maintain.
    If you do decide to export to csv format i must also suggest that the report be formatted for export (this also helps with data dumps to excel):
    1. Start rows of data at the left most margin and align any subsequent rows with this position.
    2. Make sure the next column (to the right) always starts where the last column ends.  This ensures no blank columns get inserted between your data.  Subsequent rows should have columns aligned in size and count to ensure proper layout.
    3. Make sure all objects in a row have the exact same height and use the "fit to section" command to prevent extra rows from being generated.
    4. Suppress all sections that do not contain any objects needed in your export.
    5. If your data isn't too wide (less than 256 bytes but it can be more if the printer driver used can print at a high dpi setting) consider using a formula to create each row of data i.e. properly padded for space delimited or with the commas where you want them for csv etc).  This also gives you more control on how each data type is formatted.
    Sorry to be so long winded but I hope this helps with your exporting.

  • Navigation Attribut is not shown in two rows in the Query

    Hello,
    we are using a multiprovider with the infoobject 0material. In the multiprovider we use a navigation attribut MH_PR_ST of 0material.
    Normally, the query rows should show the material number and the corresponding attribut MH_PR_ST, but in some materials in the multiprovider exist some rows where the attribute is shown correctly from the master data table and in some rows the attribute is not shown.
    Therefore in the query two rows are shown:
    Material No. MH_PR_ST Key Figure
    4711           A                    10
    4711           #                       5
    Sum                                  15
    With all other navigation attributs there is only 1 row.
    Do you have any good ideas?
    Thank you very much + best regards,
    Ilona

    Hi,
    Assuming the second row comes from one of your basic cube; since it looks that 0MATERIAL is populated (it is coorectly identified), ensure that the identification of the nav 0MATERIAL__MH_PR_ST is done properly in your multiprovider.
    hope this helps...
    Olivier.

    Formerly I could download YouTube videos by double clicking the largest size page element in the Safari activity window address column . Now in V 5.0.5 page elements are not shown, just the page title, and under that "about:blank".  Also, the activity window used to show sequential activity and now each new page replaces the last. Thanks for any suggestions re how to restore previous activity window function.

    Not all YouTube videos are available for downloading, but:
    There is the Free  iTube Grabber which can capture almost any audio and/or video stream (it says here) but only works with Intel Macs.

    Firefox Download Helper is also supposed to work, you have to be logged into YouTube first.
    and the RealPlayer Downloader that comes with RealPlayer SP for Mac from:

    which also downloads videos from YouTube.
    There is also iTubeX which allows you to download videos (Flash, HTML5 and others), .mp3 and .swf files from almost every website as easily as possible:

  • 3.1 Bug - Add row not working if Sort Nulls defautls to first.

    In some situations when you click "Add" to add a new row of a tabular form you are not provided a blank row, although you can see the row count is incremented in the lower right corner.
    This occurs if the setting of Sort Nulls first/last is allowed to default in the region attributes. By default nulls are sorted first. If your tabular form has a sort on any column and you try to add a row, the new row sorts to the top. If you have more than a screens worth of rows your blank row is not visible because APEX places focus to the last page of the result set. A work around is to go to the region's Report Attributes tab and look for "Sort Nulls" and set it to last.
    But even if you do this you may still run into problems. For example if you sort on a column that has a lot of null values, your blank row may still not appear as the last row and so may not be visible.
    I'm wondering if this is a know issue and if there are plans to correct.
    I mentioned the bug to David Peake when he was out here this week, but I didn't realize what was causing the weird behavior. Too bad I couldn't get his opinion about the cause.
    Thanks!
    Ken

    I'm seeing something that might be related to this, might not. I've setup a tabular form (Apex 3.1.0.00.9) and added a select list (Select list with submit) to help control the number or rows displayed.
    Let's say I select 30 rows to be displayed. Then I click the Add Row button. I'm getting my new empty row at the bottom of the list of records, however I'm only seeing 5 rows of data displayed above my new empty row, rather than the complete list of records (I only have 15 rows in the table right now).
    Another oddity is that the the pagination shown in the pagination select list shows "row(s) 1-15 of 16" even though the report is showing only 5 rows of data. It's almost as if some pagination value has been cached and not updating.
    Anyone got any ideas?

                 Hi there ,
                 If you 're working with advance table then you have an default option to create a blank row , please through topic 'add another row '
                 in jdev guide .
                 If you are working the regular table region then you might follow the below code suggested .
                 Create a new item of the type button ( not submit button ) and handle the event in PFR of your controller class
                String addRow=pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM);   //  "addRow " is an event attached to table
                if("addAnotherRow".equals(addRow))
                      am.invokeMethod("AddRow");
              In AMimplementation class :
       public void AddRow()
        OAViewObject headerVO = (OAViewObject)getsdaPacelineWorkupHeaderUpdateVO1();
        sdaPacelineWorkupHeaderUpdateVORowImpl rowh = (sdaPacelineWorkupHeaderUpdateVORowImpl)headerVO.getCurrentRow();
        rowh.getPacelineHeaderId();
        OAViewObject lineVO = (OAViewObject)getsdaPacelineWorkupLineUpdateVO1();
        Row lineRow = lineVO.createRow();
        Row lineRo = lineVO.last();
        lineRow.setAttribute("PacelineHeaderId",rowh.getPacelineHeaderId());
        lineRow.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
        lineVO.last();
        lineVO.next();
        lineVO.insertRow(lineRow);
        lineVO.setCurrentRow(lineRow);
        lineVO.setCurrentRow(lineVO.last());
      Note : Replace your vo name in place of sdaPacelineWorkupHeaderUpdateVO1()

  • ApEx 4: after upgrade, "when no data found" message on report not shown

    I have a page that displays a tabular form. Initially, the table is empty, and so I have text in the "when no data found" block of the report attributes.
    After upgrading to ApEx 4, this text is no longer shown when no results are returned. It displays the table header, but no rows. So for some reason, it thinks data is being returned -- even though the table is completely empty. I've tried several permutations, but have not been able to find a workaround.
    I'll try to set up a standalone page, but I can provide a pointer to the existing page on apex.oraclecorp.com on request.
    UPDATE: I think this may be related to the bug I reported on tabular forms.
    Is it possible that the empty, hidden row we are adding now counts as a returned row, even though the SELECT statement returned nothing? And thus the report never thinks that there is no data found? This would also explain why it's displaying the table headers, even though no rows are visible.
    Edited by: kswartz on Jul 8, 2010 12:18 AM

    Interesting. I didn't see anything about this change in behavior in the Release Notes. Did I miss something? It definitely didn't do this in 3.2.
    Overall, I think that's actually a very non-obvious change. Seeing a set of table headers with nothing below it looks to me like a mistake. Why would you ever show headers for something when you have no rows? In fact, I thought that was a bug the minute I saw it. With due respect, I don't think the new design is less desirable from a usability perspective than the old one.
    It also doesn't work as you described regarding the proportions: in my case, the columns in the header row did not match the sizes of the columns as I defined them. Although I didn't place anything beside the tabular form, if I had, it would still alter the layout when "Add Rows" is clicked. If you know what the size of those columns is supposed to be (because they are text fields of size xyz, for instance), why wouldn't you define the header cells to use that information? You won't get it exact most of the time, but you can get close, if they're all text fields of specific width.
    Plus, there's nothing on the Report Attributes tab that indicates the "When No Data Found" option won't apply if you are using a tabular form. The textareas should be disabled -- and at the very least, the on-line help should be mentioning this. It doesn't mention anything about this only applying to standard reports.
    Finally, I think you should also put this in the Release Notes, because this requires changes to any application where someone with a tabular form required this. In one case, that was where I provided instructions to users entering data for the first time. Now I have to move it. (Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know that in advance.) On another page, I put a JavaScript block in there to submit and automatically add a row, because I wanted there to always be a blank row if nothing had been entered -- and that was the easiest way. Okay, granted, that's probably not something you intended to support, but there was nothing wrong with it, technically. And, again, it's fixed by moving that block to the header instead and testing for the number of rows in the table -- easy, now that you provide JQuery for us -- but still manual migration work.
    Thanks for the explanation.

  • Excel export contains a blank row for the Report Header

    Hi,
    I am getting a blank row as the first row in my SSRS report when exported to excel. I have already taken care of following things,
    1. I have hidden all of the Page Header items using Globals
    2. The position of Report Body Tablix is 0, that means there is no space between report header and Report Body.
    I have developed this Report in SSRS 2012, please let me know if any more details are required. I think even after hiding Header Items, excel creates a placeholder for page header. I can't remove header from my reports as it is needed to be published in
    pdf.
    Regards
    Mohit

    Hi Mohit,
    According to your description, you are getting a blank row as the first row in your excel report when you export the report to excel, you have hidden all the items in the Page Header by using the Globals, right?
    This blank row is for the page header, although you have hidden all the items in it, but it will still display when export report to excel. Because we can’t hidden the page Header directly. Normally, we can hidden all the items in the page Header, So in
    the design phase we can also see the blank area above the report body when preview.
    We have an alternative way by add the “SimplePageHeaders” setting in “RSReportserver.config” file, after configuration the page Header will not display in the first row of the worksheet but is rendered to the Excel page header. In Reporting Services, the
    “SimplePageHeaders” default value is “FALSE” and it indicates that the page header is rendered to the first row of the worksheet. In order to display the page header in the Header/Footer section of Excel, we need to set the “SimplePageHeaders” setting value
    to “TRUE”. I did a test on my local machine and here are my steps:
    Navigate to RSReportserver.config file: <drive:> Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportserver.config.
    Backup the RSReportserver.config file before modify it, open the RSReportserver.config file with Notepad format.
    Set the Excel rendering extension code like this:
    <Render>
    <Extension Name="EXCELOPENXML" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.ExcelOpenXmlRenderer.ExcelOpenXmlRenderer,Microsoft.ReportingServices.ExcelRendering">
    <Configuration>
    <DeviceInfo>
    <SimplePageHeaders>TRUE</SimplePageHeaders>
    </DeviceInfo>
    </Configuration>
    </Extension>
    </Render>
      4.  Save the RSReportserver.config file.
    Note: Changing the rendering extension parameters only affects rendering operations on the Report Server.
    When I access to Report Manager and export the report(includes a page header) to Excel format, the blank row will disappear now.

  • Blank Row in table during Master Data Load

    I am having some success with my master data loads, but when I maintain the master data I have noticed that every table has had a blank row inserted.
    Does anybody know why and what I should do with the row (i.e. delete it)?

    This blank row is by default created and you can no way delete it.  Though you delete it, a new row with blank values will be appended.  This is required for some technical reason while reading the table within ABAP programs.
    This is applicable only for SAP tables and may not be required for custom developed ones unless you want to use this in screen programs.

  • Enterprise Project Fields Default values do not Register on PDP Pages for mandatory fields

    Is it normal for "mandatory" eneterprise project field to come up as blank in a PDP page, when I have defined it to default value to a specific value in a list?
    I've inserted such fields using the project field web part within the PWA Category.  They display with the red astericks at the end of their name, but the field is blank.  The default value does not appear in the field.  However, if I select

    the problem with this is that you have to manually select the default (or some value form the list) in order to check in the project.
