Default option for password in UME

Hi,
Is there a way that when we create new users in UME, that the default option for password management is set to "Disabled Password" in stead of "Define Initial Password".
We are using SPML SOAP message to create the users and if there is no password in the SPML messgae, the user is created, but no logon is possible as the system expects that you should have a password.
We will like to avoid sending in the password as part of user creation process, as these users will have to be created with no password. These users will never do a basis authentication, but are needed for SSO using HTTP header variable..

On the ABAP side this is possible, so I would expect the Java APIs to offer the same.
Looking in the PASSWORD structure is the wrong place, try the LOGONDATA (if it is done the same way). If you activate it in the call it should delete the PASSWORD regardless.
Sorry, I have an ABAP mentality... but consistent APIs make it easier (to have to understand less concepts) and SAP increasingly does this.

Locking the default options for IMPORT

Could we have a more definitive way to establish personal defaults for IMPORT.
When I import from my camera card, I normally start in the Folder sub-panel of Library and do a right-click "Create a new folder inside ..." and then after that is completed I select the folder just created and right click again and "Import to this folder ..."
This brings up IMPORT with my destination already visually established AND the folder already created within my folder structure and then all I need to do is quickly verify my options and click IMPORT in the lower right corner.
But for the life of me, I couldn't get my options to be sticky ... e.g. preview resolution, destination, etc. I'd set them, do the IMPORT as above, finish it and when I'd go back in they wouldn't have been left the way I set them. But I knew that sometimes this DID happen.
Turns out that if you invoke IMPORT via the button in the lower left corner of Library and complete the sequence (rather than import to this folder via a right-click) ... then options set from that initiation point are sticky and are rembered the next time you go in.
My question is: could we not have a more specific way of saving the defaults on the screen so no matter how you entered IMPORT, you can establish your default and 'lock' it.

The best you can do until Adobe sees fit to make properly sticky is to use import presets. Please forgive if you already knew that...

Does GTC generate default value for Password attribute.??

I am using GTC as trusted source reconciliation.
My doubt is if I don’t map the password attribute does it generate default value to the password attribute in user form??
I have a random password generator in pre-insert, first i tried as below which didn't work later after updating it worked fine.
IF (password=null)
Generaterandampassword
SetPassword= Generaterandampassword
If i use adapter as above it not generating random password. i see that password as 'temp' to all the users.
I am thinking gtc generates a value to password filed even if we don't pass any value... am i right?? Please let me know..

When Safari is first installed, which boxes are checked for "Reset Safari"? Where is this info stored?

You can discover this by the following procedure:
Open your Safari web browser by clicking on the Safari icon in the dock.
Click on Safari in your Safari menu, located at the top of your screen.
A drop-down menu will now appear. Choose the option labeled Reset Safari....
A warning dialog will now appear detailing the items that will be removed.
IMPORTANT:
Do not go any further, but at this point you will see what the original items were (the ones that will not be removed).
That should satisfy your curiosity.
They are most likely stored in a .plist or other such file somewhere. You can probably use SpotLight to find it.

How to set PPT as the default option for saving powerpoint output

I have created a rtf template to produce powerpoint output using Oracle BI Publisher. The problem is that when user tries to save the powerpoint output of BI Publisher, default file type to save it is selected as .mht
So now user have to scroll down the save as list and select .ppt as file type. Is there nay way by which I can set the the default save as type to .ppt by changing the server settings or at template level.

Mavericks mail default location option for adding attachment

When I am writing an email and want to add an attachment, I have always used the paperclip icon to do so, and my desktop would appear as the default option as a place to select the attachment. Recently this has changed so that the default option still says 'desktop' on the side panel but instead displays my itunes library. If I go to my home then back to desktop my actual desktop is displayed, but I'm wondering why itunes is appearing as my desktop, and how I can fix this so that my default option for adding an attachment is my actual desktop.

I agree with concerns but disagree as it is causing a bottleneck for agility and effectiveness addressing user needs.
"A picture is worth a thousand words" (and pictures come in a file).
If we are concerned about disk space, then I feel we need to provision hard disk space and nourish the SAP Community Network to be effective and improved.
For example: Business Objects products often deals with reports and users often enquiry ways to cleverly use our tools.
Imagine how unproductive users find the forum messages when everyone is trying to describe what they see in their screens. And how much misunderstanding happened among all those involved in the discussion of the thread.
It didnt' take me more than a few months to realize that users are all crying out for ways to add a descriptive image into their forum message.
Some are clever and add a link to an external location, some leave their email addresses and some leave their phone numbers!
The other challenge is for Chinese,Korean and Japanese language users. An Asian user seeking for help is unable to describe properly in a foreign language to gain visibility for wider audience, often they are not familiar with the naming of the functionality in english because he/she may never have seen the menus in English.
I recently observed a user describing a problem there were 14 notes back and forth for a very simple matter, it took 3 days. I believe a screenshot with a red circle would have helped in one shot.
I suggest files to be allowed and filters put in place distinguishing file formats to allow right content.

Whereas /etc/default/passwd on the ldap client says passwords must be 8 characters. This is seen with the pam_authtok_check: minimum length from /etc/default/passwd: 8
. It is clearly not using the policy from the directory server but checking locally. So I can login ok using the ldap server for authentication but when I try to change the password it does not use the policy from the server which says I only need a minimum lenght of 6 characters.
I have read that pam_ldap is only supported for directory server 5.2. Because I am running ds6 and with password compatability in ds6 mode maybe this is my problem. Does anyone know of any updated pam_ldap modules for solaris 9?

What is the default username and password for administering my f4500 deskjet printer?

I need to administer my F4500 Deskjet through my web browser, but do not know the username and password. I presume there is a way to default the settings, but I need to know the defaults. Please provide the default username and password for web access.

The default username is Admin, but the password is blank by default. Somehow, a password was added at some point.
You can try going to the EWS and going to Settings and looking for a password reset option in the Administrator Settings section. If it is there, it will be the only way I know of clearing the password on this particular printer.

What is default web access password for HP Laserjet P2055dn

I tried to logon to the printer's web access interface, but do not know the username and password.

Hi Yeldarb, Maybe I do not describe the issue clearly. The "admin/password" is used for accessing gateway modem configuration page. But it is not what I want now. I am wondering the method for changing the default password which modem use to connect the telstra server. I think every telstra boardband client would have one username/password pair for access internet, right?

I am Raghu working in EBP2.0 & I have come across a difficlty and that is of creating a new tab and also the fields 'GL a/c', 'cost centre' or 'internal order' in this new tab.
First of all please let me know whether is it possible to create a new tab for these fields.
The purpose of this new tab is to default the cost centre and GL account with reference to shopping cart.
As per current scenario, user has to enter the cost centre & the GL code as many times as the number of items in a shopping cart. I mean, if you have 10 items in your shopping cart then 10 times user has to input the cost centre & GL account. To avoid this we are required to add new tab so that per shopping cart we can enter the GL account & cost centre only once.

Sreenivas, I checked the 'copy to clipboard' option & its not there in EBP2 and I feel what you meant as cost centre tab is account assignment tab.
