Default value for period indicator in MM01

Hello Gurus,
I have created a transaction for maintaining default value for period indicator in MM01 transaction. User has to maintain the period indicator for Material Type(MTART) and Plant(WERKS) before creating a material master. If it is not maintained, then error message will be generated saying that 'Maintain Period indicator for the Plant and Material Type'.
I have created an implementation for that in 'Y_BADI_MATERIAL_REF'. For Material type 'FERT' it is working fine.
But when i try to create a material of type 'RAW1' , im getting a error that 'Mandatory field Profit center is missing' which is already entered in the material master and is not in the part of forecast view i have created.
During my second testing, i got a different error MRP group 'Y0Y3' is not valid, though i entered it using F4 help.
When i commented my piece of code in the implementation, error disappeared..
Im very new to MM, please help me out gurus..

I know that it can be made as optional entry in OMS9 transaction. But when i deactivated my BADI, that error disappeared.
Is there any relation between the period indicator and profit centre ?
And also while creating a material, when i select the MRP group from the dropdown list(F4), whatever the group i select, im getting an error 'MRP group does not exists'. But when i deactivated my BADI, it disappeared.
Im really confused why am I getting such errors because of this BADI.
Please help me out...

Default values for confirmation control key

Dear forum
I am using a confirmation control key 0004 Shipping notification (standard SAP) in the Purchase order line item (created with ME21n).
When I enter the confirmation data (with transaction ME22n) in the purchase order line item (confirmations tab), I have to type in delivery date, quantity and so on manually, which is standard.
But, what if I want to copy the original delivery date and quantity from the line item in the order, and use this as default value for the line item confirmation data...is it possible somehow?
The reason why I want to do this is for the user not having to go in and update this date manually all the time, but only when the confirmed dates/quantities differ from the desired delivery date and quantities in the purchase order line item. We are not on EDI or using Inbound deliverys for Purchase orders.

The Confirmation is nothing but the acknowledgement.So, its usually entered manuallly by the authorised User allowing follow on documents for Purchase Order.
You can chesk once the customisation of Confiramtion control keys for automatic update indicator.
Yes, you can use User Exit and develop with the help of ABAPERS.

Hello,
I am trying to set the default value for a listbox where multiple items are selected.
If a single item is selected then this.getField("zzz").defaultValue = x; works fine, but you cannot use defaultValue for multiple indicies. The manual mentions the user or export events but I cannot see how that would work.
Any help will be appreciated.

I need to set default values for the field Fiscal Quarter in item level using BADI CRM_CUSTOMER_I_BADI .This Field is created using EEW. The default value is like if the date is nov-2007 the value for this fiscal period is FQ4-2007 .

Why don't you try setting the default value in the List next to the Matrix - item 107
Item 107 is a matrix (a transposed one), I have no idea what list you mean... I am using item 107, not 112. Item 112 is used only to detect a click on the "Add Record" button, which is the last row of the matrix 112.
I don't see the gender column in the grid and I'm also unsure of the id you have for it "12" - are you sure it's correct ( i usually use Item("columnName") )?
Sorry for the confusion. "12" is the name of the standard column "Password" which we have renamed to store the gender.

LSMW input method error-No Customizing entry defined for period indicator Y in logon language

Hi,
I am creating one material through direct input method and its showing error '
No Customizing entry defined for period indicator Y in logon language'.
I am passing PERKZ ( periodic indicator ) as blank from file.
But when i am creating in foreground its automatically taking value 'M' and creating the material.
And also when i hardcode the value 'M' in LSMW then also its showing same error.
Can anyone please help urgently?

Check in O02K what is maintained. As per your error message, External Period Indicator "Y" is missing for that logon language.

Extracting data with zero values for periods without data

Hello Together,
i extracted data from our hfm application from period 1 to 3.
Now i found that some rows begin with period 2 or 3 because there are no data in period 1 or 2.
So my question is, how i can get zero values for periods with no data.
Hope someone can help me.

For the periods with no data, HFM does not have a "0" to offer for the data extraction. Since the default data extract from HFM has each period on it's own row in the *.dat file, I don't understand your comment about rows starting with period 2 or 3. In the *.dat file the row for period 1 simply won't exist. Are you using a custom approach/tool for data extraction?
The only time HFM will offer a "0" where there is indeed no data, is if you extract derived data. You must include calculated data, and even then I believe HFM will only extract a "0" for the first period after a period where there was data, and only for flow accounts (Revenue/Expense). so if you have "100" in period 1, and no data in period 2, such that the derived value YTD for period 2 is "0", then you must include calculated values in the extract and you should see "0" for period 2. However, I don't believe HFM will extract "0" for period 3 - instead it will be blank/missing.
In general it could be very dangerous to force HFM to give zeros where there is no data.

It was a bug in libgnomekbd that has been fixed in the latest version. When you update, the buggy version is uninstalled, triggering this warning. The bug is harmless though.

I have two drop downs. Both are coming from look up fields from two lists. i want to set a default value(first list item) for the first drop down list box and then apply cascading based on the default value for the next drop down list box. where in i can set a default value but i can't apply cascading based on that default value. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

The radio button Service should not be visible.
Also for search help (e.g. search for internal products) where a search should only be possible for product type 01 (goods). The system should not display the product type and internally always search for goods only.

Here we can set defalut value 01 but it is not correct one since same search help is using several places.
We need to limit the search help results only for SC.

The easiest way to set defautl values is to edit the batch class.
Goto the characteiristic and go to update values.
In here you probably have something like 0 - 100 as a spec range.
On the next line enter the default value within this range. At the end of the line, click in the box in the column labelled "D". This indicates the defautl value for the characteristic.
If you need to you can do this in the material classification view as well.
Just to be clear, these values will only show up in the batch record. You can not have defautl values in resutls recording screens.

How to use one variable as a default value for another variable?

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to use one variable as a default value for another variable?
For example:
Variable 1 = current calendar year month
Variable 2 = mandatory input ready variable for calendar year month
I want to use variable 1 as default value for variable 2, but also have the ability to change the month if required.

u can use replacement path variable
in that case u can replace the values of 1 variable with the another variable...
but u cannot do this setting
u cannot make variable 2 as mandatory
u cannot enter value for variable 2
because by default it will take the value of variable 1
u have to make follow settings
variable 2
name , technical name
processing by = replacement path
infoobject = ocalmonth
next tab
replaced by another variable
variable name
offset start , offset lenght
save and hit okey

How to set a default value for a page item

I am working with a facility table that has name and address information. The user can add contact name information on a separate page. Since the address for the facility and contact is usually the same, I want to add a default value for the contact address. The facility page is on 201 and the link to add a new contact row is on page 202. I showed in the default value :P201_street for the contact's address. But, when I run the page, the contact address field shows the :P201_street, not the actual facility address. What am I leaving out? Must be something obvious?!

In the default value, I showed: v('P201_STREET1') with the default value type of: PL/SQL Expression and received the following oracle error ==> Item default is not a PL/SQL expression. Use &ITEM syntax. The v('ITEM') syntax is not valid for item defaults. So I changed it to: &P201_STREET1 and got another oracle error , ERR-9132 error in PLSQL expression for item default code, item=P202_STREET1.
Any more suggestions? Thx.
