Defaulting Hideshow region to Open with appropriate images

I put this code in the region header of my hideshow to programatically default to open when page loads. It works fine, except that it is showing the wrong image in the hideshow region when defaulted to open. The little arrow icon is pointing horizontally instead of vertically. How can I get the richt icon to display?
<script>
if ($x('P0_ALERT_REGION_VIEW').value == 'O'){
hideShow('region5','shIMG15','/i/themes/theme_10/showhide_hidden.gif','/i/themes/theme_10/showhide_show.gif');
</script>

bobmagan,
The code you posted looks correct to me. However, if it's definitely not working, then try swapping the images in the call to the hideShow method and see if that works.
<script>
if ($x('P0_ALERT_REGION_VIEW').value == 'O'){
hideShow('region5','shIMG15','/i/themes/theme_10/showhide_show.gif','/i/themes/theme_10/showhide_hidden.gif');
</script>

  • LightRoom 2.3 Does not show up in "open With" when image right clicked..Why?

    Hi,
    I noticed that when I right click on an image and highlight OPEN WITH LightRoom does not show up as a choice.. Just CS4 and other programs. Is there a way to get it to show up?

    You can do it. Right-clicking and "opening with" LR is no different than dragging a file from Windows Explorer into the grid view. In either case the import dialog will be launched. If it's already in the catalog you'll get that dialog.
    Windows is seemingly unpredictable from time to time as to adding file associations to the context menu. In any case, if you go to the bottom and click "choose program" you can select LR from the expanded list, or navigate to find it if necessary (which shouldn't be necessary).
    Typically once you choose it once, it will continue to appear in the short list for that file type, though it depends what new pieces of software you install and how they're associated with file types either upon or after installation.
    You can also drag the file(s) from your Explorer window into the grid view, or drag onto the LR icon on your desktop or in your quick launch, which will launch LR and bring up the appropriate dialog.

  • Disk image not opening with disk image mounter...

    I downloaded a shareware program and for some reason it reset my dmg files to open with it instead of with the default normal program.
    I cannot find the "diskimagemounter" that is listed in the open with... option (used spotlight to find name). i can have it use the disk utility, but wouldn't that run the disk utility program in the front everytime i mounted an image?
    any help would b greatly appreciated.
    thanks,
    jason Kent

    Choose a .dmg file and then "Get Info" (command-i)
    Under "Open with" set to "DiskImageMounter" and select change all.
    fyi - the app itself resides in /system/library/coreservices.

  • Will EC support setting default file type and Open With from file menu?

    The default file types I can live without, but at least allow for Open With on right click from Windows Explorer.
    I currently have EC set in the Open With programs list, but EC does not comply for any files I opt to open it with (.css, .php, .html etc).
    EC open but not the file I choose.
    Also, even though the above use case is not ideal when if I do attempt an Open With when EC is already open, a new application session starts instead of attempting to open in the currently active app frame. It would be ideal to allow for single app frame, multiple files when Open With is employed.

    Hey Darrell,
    Thanks for the feedback. How Edge Code treats files is definitely something we know isn't ideal and it's something we're looking at fixing soon. There's currently a story on the Brackets backlog that adresses the Open With issue - https://trello.com/c/GhF1Bgf9
    And it based on howit ranks in that priority it looks like we could potentially take that into Edge Code over the next couple of months.
    This is definitely a feature that we think is important before we consider ourselves 1.0 so it's high priority.

  • How do I change the default in Finder for Open With

    I want to set the default ffor a file type in Finder when using Open With.  How?

    Select the file to open, use CMD+i and set " open with" to the application of choice  and " use this application to open all this file type".

  • PS6 opening with gigantic image block

    Photoshop CS6 opens with a gigantic image block that is so big that the lower right corner is not even available to make it smaller.  It just started opening that way a few days ago.  I have no idea why it did that or what to do to get it back down to a working size. Command minus doesn't do anything, but I though I would try it anyway.
    Here is a screen shot.  As you can see the lower right corner cannot be accessed even if I pull the frame all the way to the top edge of the screen.
    The image of my cockatoo below is 8x10 so you can imagine how large that black window is.
    Any ideas?  This is a nightmare, it covers my tools and everything else.
    Thanks.

    There is a "gripper" (ridges or dark area) at the left edge of the Options bar. Move your mouse pointer there, and drag with your mouse or track pad.

  • Print dialogue box not opening with HDR image

    I created an HDR image using HDR Efex Pro 2 a month ago and printed it.  It is saved as a psd file.  I went to print it yesterday and the print dialogue box won't open. I've tried alt tab to check the box isn't open and hidden.  I've re-created the image and the result still won't open.  No other images are causing this problem.  It's probably something really simple and hopefully someone out there can shed light for me.  Thanks

    Thanks for that - I wondered about the 32 bit/channel but am bemused as to how I got the first print a month ago!!  Now toned which and in 16 bit and print dialogue box opened.
    Thanks guys

  • Photoshop CC not defaulting as first priority "open with" when attempting to change all

    Can anyone help, I have both Photoshop CC and Photoshop CS6, when I go to change all files ending in .psd to Photoshop CC it reverts back to CS6.
    This is happening in the info sub-tab when I right-click a .psd file.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advanced

    I think that is an operating system issue with file associations

  • How to Set Default Open With?

    Bridge keeps opening my .png screen shot files with Fireworks, I want them to open in Photoshop — CS4.
    The .png file icons defaults are set to open with Ps.
    Bridge> Preferences> File Type Associations don't even list .png (if that is the place to do it).
    Forum search seems to be hitting on everything but what I am typing in.
    Bridge Help doesn't understand what I am asking.

    Same issue - when I double click a "RW2" file in Bridge my Photomatix application opens the file. Nowhere in the file associations do I see Photomatix or the "RW2" file format for that matter. I reset to default association - still no joy. The only app showing in the "Open With" pull down in Bridge is "Photomatix (default)". How so I change this default to PS4?

  • Open with default options

    Wondering if anyone knows how to set the default 'option' of the "Open

    Always use the selected program to open this kind of file
    By default in windows 7 this is checked. I have found docs online to
    completely remove the checkbox or have it greyed out, but I would like
    to have the option still there, just not checked by default.
    We have had a couple different users somehow set all .exe's on their

  • Right click - Open with...: customize applications list

    I would add an application that's not listed by default when I choose "Open with" for an image file, how can I do that?

    That's not an easy thing to do. The application informs the system what file types it recognizes. If the application doesn't show up in the "Open with" list, it may not be capable of opening the file. What's the application and what kind of image file are you trying to get it to open?

  • Get Info "Change All" button doesn't keep the proper "Open With" app

    I have a small but annoying problem that appears in Leopard 10.5.2 (been there since original 10.5.0 install) that I have tried to troubleshoot but can't solve.
    The problem is:
    -With some of my file types, the wrong "Open With" application is displayed when I view a Get Info for that file type. So to fix this, I open a Get Info window on one of those types of files, and choose the PROPER default application in the "Open With" slot. This works, and then the new proper application name now shows in that slot. So then I click the "Change All" button and apply to all files of that file type. I receive the warning that I will be changing ALL files of that type. I choose "continue" because that is what I desire.
    However, once I do that, (click Change All, then Continue button), the old, wrong application name jumps back the Open With slot! So the new, correct application choice doesn't "stick".
    Oddly enough, it sort of DOES work, because if I then re-click in the Open With slot, although the old, the wrong application is back listed again, if I look up above that name, then my actual desired application is listed in a list, and it has the word (Default) beside it.
    So if I do actually now double click any file of that type, then the proper application DOES launch and open the file.
    But why does the Get Info window still display the wrong, non-default application in Open With? And furthermore, this causes all file types of that kind, to display the WRONG icon in any Finder window. They of course display, the icon of what is in the Open With slot list.
    I am having this problem only with two file types and apps. (Cubase and Pro Tools---DAW audio apps). All of my Cubase files display a Pro Tools icon, and show as Open With: "Pro Tools" when of course it should display Open With: Cubase. As stated in the Open With list, Cubase is indeed there among other programs and it has the word (Default) beside it. So it sort of works when launching files. But I still cannot get Cubase to "stick" and stay in Open With after Change All!
    Can anyone offer any tips on what might cause this and what fix is needed?
    Thanks so much in advance!
    Wade

    Well, I tried rebuilding the Launch services with the command listed but still no luck. After having no luck with that and deleting caches, etc....I also, went to my home (user) directory and in Preferences, I deleted the com.apple.launchservices.plist file. I restarted and checked and still the same result.
    Also, I want to emphasize again that the file type I am discussing DOES actually launch with the correct application. (Cubase files in my example).
    But it is just annoying that ALL of my Cubase files display the Pro Tools application icon, and in Get Info they are listed to open with Pro Tools. But they actually do launch Cubase if double clicked.
    And one other VITAL note....if I open Get Info for one of these files, and change the Open With from Pro Tools to Cubase....then that choice DOES "stick" and retain. (if I "don't" also click Change All)
    It's only when I click "Change All" that it DOESN'T stick and the list selection jumps back to Pro Tools. I hope that may offer some clarity.
    Thanks for the tips but I am still back at square one.

  • Issue with 'open with' bridge cc

    hey all,
    i've searched and all the discussions that 'start' with a similar question, get diverted, or people who are 'trying' to help don't really read the question, so here i hope to make is clear so the correct answer will be provided.
    specs - windows 8, adobe cc suite (all updated), mainly use pshop, ai, acrobat, lightroom, dw.
    BUT i have pshop and ai cs6 STILL installed, because a couple filters / plugins (nik) didn't work on CC when it was initially released.  so now nik (google) is all happy with CC so i uninstalled pshop / ai cs6.  but now in bridgeCC when i right click on an icon / file i'm given only one 'open with' option.  so if it's a pdf that i want to open with pshop or illustrator, it shows the default 'adobe acrobat' to open with, which is correct, but i used to get the option of acrobat / pshopCC / illustratorCC but now only acrobat.
    i KNOW i can go to bridgeCC preferences and change the default to something other than acrobat but then it won't give me acrobat anymore. i want the old options of having a CHOICE as the pdf may be best edited in illustrator or pshop.
    even when going to bridge FILE>OPEN WITH it only gives one option.
    thinking it may have been that i uninstalled pshop / ai cs6, i then uninstalled bridgeCC and redownloaded but it still gave me only one option on 'open with'
    this was caused by UNINSTALLING pshop cs6 and ai cs6.  i know this as fact because i did a system restore and the options came back.  but since i'm not using pshop / ai cs6 anymore, i would like to uninstall them to as i'm not using them.
    i've seen other people with this issue but the answer is never clear or gets sidetracked to a regedit issue, which i don't believe is true as when i right click on a file in windows explorer i can do PROPERTIES and change the associate file with but to be clear in BRIDGE CC i want MULTIPLE OPTIONS of programs / apps to open a file with.
    hope this makes sense and thanks in advance.

    You can add anything you want via scripting, here is an example of setting up Photoshop CS5, Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6 to OpenWith.
    Save the script as PLAIN text and save it with a .jsx extension.  In Bridge goto Preferences - Startup Scripts and click the "Reveal My Startup Scripts"
    this will open the folder where the script should be saved.
    #target bridge

        }catch(e){alert(e)}
    //Illustrator CS6
    var illustratorCS6 = new MenuElement("command", "Send to Illustrator CS6",  "at the end of submenu/OpenWith");
    illustratorCS6.onSelect = function (){
    var illustratorCS6Path = "C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Adobe Illustrator CS6 (64 Bit)\\Support Files\\Contents\\Windows\\Illustrator.exe";
    var sels = app.document.selections;
    try{
        for(var a in sels){sels[a].openWith(illustratorCS6Path); };
        }catch(e){alert(e)}
    Good luck.

  • "Open with" menu displaying the same apps several times...

    I've tried googling this several times but never really found a good answer nor a way to solve this (see image below)...
    As you can see, the "open with" menu displays the GROUP OF APPS several times, not just the apps themselves... Funny thing is, this only happens when I navigate with the keyboard to the "open with" option, i.e., if I highlight it with the mouse a correct menu pops up...!
    Any thoughts on how to fix this?
    NOTE: This has happened to me since Leopard.

    Ok, I will try your suggestion (reinstalling Snow Leopard), maybe not today or tomorrow since this is my work computer but when I have a little time off...
    Just so you can see the "error in action" (the 'insert video' button was disabled, hence the link): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10042917/Error.mov
    It's a screen recording of me trying to "open with" an image file 1st using the mouse and then using the keyboard (NOTE: if the first navigation in the menu is done with the keyboard, i.e., if you highlight "open" using the keyboard and then navigate to "open with" with the mouse I will still get the repeated menu while... in other words, the use of the keyboard always activates the repeated menu.)
    Anyway, thank you for your help

    hi, when you right click on a file, there is an option to open the file with an application other than the default application viz. the ``Open With'' option which brings up a list of applications. How do I add an application so that it appears on this list so that I won't have to click on ``Other..'' to find the app? Cheers.
