Defaulting Rules on Line Type

Hi,
I have set up a Defaulting rule based for line type. This defaulting rule calls a custom package on the database to retrieve the correct value. Everything works fine when creating a manual order, but when an order is created automatically via Workfklow then the rule is not applied.
I added a dependency using the OE_Dependencies_Extn package as documented by oracle, in here I link g_inventory_item to g_line_type as follows:
x_extn_dep_tbl(l_index).source_attribute := OE_LINE_UTIL.G_INVENTORY_ITEM;
x_extn_dep_tbl(l_index).dependent_attribute := OE_LINE_UTIL.G_LINE_TYPE;
x_extn_dep_tbl(l_index).enabled_flag := 'Y';
l_index := l_index + 1;
I can see from some logging I put in that when the custom package is called to determine the line_type that the item_id is not populated correctly!
Anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

From what I have seen the only loop you can use in a SmartForm is a loop over an internal table. Can you provide more information on the "Repeat Processing" you talk about?

  • Default rule in Order type dependend parameters - OPL8 - Order Settlement

    Hello,
We are doing settlement of production orders via Tcode - Ko88.
After execution of the same, system is passing an FI entry to GL - which is mentioned in the Material Master (Valuation Class - 7900) i.e. through OBYC setting.
We have also checked the OPL8 setting (Order Type dependend Parameters - Controlling Tab) in which "Default Rule" is mentioned as - PP1 - Production Material full Settlement.
As the system is passing an entry via "Default Rule - PP1" stored in Order Type Dependend Paramenters:
    1. What is the use of Settlement Profile (OKO7) & Allocation Structure (OKO6)?
    2. Can we make "Default Rule" field as optional (In Tcode - OPL8) ? since all the settlements are resulting in same Material GL.
Waiting for a positive answer. Points will be assigned definitly.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shridhar Sawant

    Hi,
    Settlement Profile:
In the settlement profile, you define a range of control parameters for settlement. You must define the settlement profile before you can enter a settlement rule for a sender.
If you want to settle the costs each time to just one cost center or just one G/L account, you need a settlement profile. As you cannot maintain the settlement parameters during settlement to a receiver, you must save the settlement profile either in the order type or in the model order or reference order.
    Allocation Structure:
During settlement, costs incurred under the primary and secondary cost elements by a sender are allocated to one or more receivers. When you settle by cost element, you settle using the appropriate original cost element.
An allocation structure comprises one or several settlement assignments. An assignment shows which costs (origin: cost element groups from debit cost elements) are to be settled to which receiver type (for example, cost center, order, and so on).
You have two alternatives in settlement assignment:
You assign the debit cost element groups to a settlement cost element.
You settle by cost element - that is, the debit cost element is the settlement cost element.
This is a good idea, for example, if the required capital spending for an asset you are building yourself is to be monitored. These costs are settled by cost element to an inventory account in Asset Accounting at the end of the year, or when the measure is complete.
Each allocation structure must fulfil the following criteria:
    Completeness
An allocation structure is assigned to each object to be settled. All cost elements in which costs are incurred, must be represented in the appropriate allocation structure.
    Uniqueness
Each cost element in which costs are incurred may only appear once in an allocation structure. Only one settlement cost element may be assigned to a source within a particular allocation structure.
    Source Structure:
A source structure contains several source assignments, each of which contains the individual cost elements or cost element intervals to be settled using the same distribution rules.
In the settlement rule for the sender you can define one distribution rule, in which you specify the distribution and receivers for the costs for each source assignment.
    Thanks,
    Rau

  • Default settlement rule with settlement type as FUL for service orders

    Hi Folks,
Could you please advise me on the below issue?
Requirement: setting up of default settlement rule with default settlement receiver as u201CCOST CENTREu201D and settlement type as u201CFULu201D for the maintenance orders (Order category u2013 30).
I was trying to configure the same in transaction KSR3_ORI to assign the strategy to the service order type by clicking u201CNew Entriesu201D system not showing the drop list for the status column which is a mandatory field.
We have applied the below notes:
Note 313454 - Info: Default value for settlement type
Note 851975 - Settlement use automatic generation creates
Could you please guide us to get the default settlement rule for service orders along with settlement type as u201CFULu201D

I was also with this problem in 2013 january and only found some information about this, here.
Our solution was change the Maximum number of distribution rules in Maintain Settlement Profiles to 1, because we wanted the FUL rule and it is always in the first line.
Now, for curiosity, I was search for another solution and found the SAP note 2028108 that explain that is not possible to change the strategy for PM/CS orders.
This note was released at 09.06.2014

  • ALV Graphs: How to set line type graph as default graph

    Hi All,
I need to develop a line graph. The fields on the X-axis will change dynamically. Some times they may be 10 field and some times they may be more than 100 fields. I tried with Function Module GFW_PRES_SHOW_MULT. But I can only display maximum 32 fields. Can anyone tell me exact program which helps me to full fill my requirement. It will be a great help if you could told how do display line type graph as default graph in ALV.  In REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY there is a Exporting parameter MT_CHART_TYPES but this help you only to enter description for X-axis and Y-axis.
    Many thanks in advance.

I would call GRAPH_MATRIX_2D with options depending on representation you wish
look at the program GRBUSG_1 to see how to use it
there you have some options to display bar chart, but you could use other values (complete list of options is available in documentation of function module GRAPH_MATRIX_2D - click on parameter OPTS in help display to see full explanation)
    exemple:
P2TYPE = LN to display lines

  • Default Order Line type

    Hi
When I create a SO with a certain order type from where does line type default , without entering any line positive and negative.
And can we change this default order line type.
As of now by default SO is taking Default line type as +ve hence for shippable items.
I want to change default line type to -ve for returnable items.
    Please advice.
    Thanks
    Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
This comes from your order/transaction type setup in OM: when creating any order header transaction type you specify a default line type. If the order category = Order, you select an order line type, if = Return, you select a return line type. If the category is 'Mixed', you specify both default order and default return line types.

  • PL/SQL API + Defaulting Rules in OM

    Hi,
I want to default custom rule in Sales Order from whenever I select Item. After selecting item from the sales order from, it should populate Warehouse value in Shipping tab. I am using custom PL/SQL API option. I wrote one function and kept in package. I was disabled all defaulting rules. Now If I select Item in sales order form, I am not getting warehouse value.
    The steps are:
Step 1. Select Warehouse attribute and define defaulting rule

    Select Attribute as Warehouse
    Click on Defaulting Rules

  • Defaulting Rule - Help Needed

    hi,
I want to default the Order Line based on specific Item. I have created the Defaulting Condition Template specifying the item for Entity Order Line.
At the Item Type : I have added a new defaulting condition with a precedence later than the Regular Line and have added a constant value as the order line type.
But it doesnt seem to work out. I have compiled the defaulting rules. But it still does not seem to work out.
Can any one help or atleast point out how to get this thing working ?
The idea is to have separate line type created for manufactured shippable items and separate line type for service items. Service module is not being implemented.
since, the number of service items are not large so I am planning to hard code with the service items.
I am not sure how the PL/SQL process would work. But if somebody could point out the PL/SQL usage for this with pseudo code. I think it might help out.
    Thanks,
    Dhiraj

    Hi Dhiraj,
I understand that you are looking for different line types for different item types. This can be easily set up in the transaction type definition form itself. You don't have to setup special defaulting rules for this.
In the transaction type form , when you assign line flows, it lets you choose item type. So you can set different line types for each item_type.

    Swapna.

  • What is difference process constraints and hold and defaulting rule.

    hi,
what is difference process constraints and hold and defaulting rule.
please give me a brief about all three.

Your question is quite broad but I will try.
    1) Processing constraints are rules that you can define in OM that help you control the actions you can take on Order Headers, Order Lines, Invoices etc.
e.g. you can setup a processing constraint that says if you have picked an order, then you cannot cancel it.
Oracle comes with some seeded constraints but you can define your additional constraints as well.
    See http://www.oracleug.com/user-guide/order-management/holds for details
    2) Hold is a way of stopping progress on an order. e.g. If the customer's credit limit has been exceeded, you can have a hold applied to it. This will stop the order from getting shipped.
    See http://www.oracleug.com/user-guide/order-management/holds for details
    3) Defaulting rule is a mechanism to default values on sales order headers / lines etc. You can specifiy defaulting conditions and associate them with custom actions. e.g. you can say that if order type is INTERNAL then default the SUBINVENTORY on the order line to SPARES. Again, Oracle comes with some seeded ones. You can write your own. The defaulting rules also let you encapsulate complex logic in a pl/sql function and invoke it to default fields.
    see http://www.oracleug.com/user-guide/order-management/defaulting-rules for examples
    Hope this helps,

  • Creation of New Default Rule in OPL8

    Hi,
In TC : OPL8, in cost accounting tab we maintain the default rule.
Can we create our own default rule?
The issue is we are using the CO-Product scenario in IS MILL. There the two default rules are PP5 and PP6. Both are Full settlement type.
But as we are using Cost Object Hierarchy, we cannot use the Full settlement type. So we want something similar to PP2 but having te features of PP5 or PP6.
Can we achieve this in any way by creating new default rule or how to acheive this.
    Regards
    Kami

    Hi
You can change it in OPL8 when you create New Order Type
Even if you dont change, it will be overwritten by PER when you use Cost Obj Hierarchy

  • SRM 4.0- How to set the default values for product type (01) only for SC

The radio button “Service” should not be visible.
Also for search help (e.g. search for internal products) where a search should only be possible for product type 01 (goods). The system should not display the product type and internally always search for goods only.
How to set the default values for product type (01) only for SC
We needs to use Search help BBPH_PRODUCT which having parameter PRODUCT_TYPE
Here we can set defalut value 01 but it is not correct one since same search help is using several places.
We need to limit the search help results only for SC.
    Kindly help out me ASAP.

The easiest way to set defautl values is to edit the batch class.
Goto the characteiristic and go to update values.
In here you probably have something like 0 - 100 as a spec range.
On the next line enter the default value within this range.  At the end of the line, click in the box in the column labelled "D".  This indicates the defautl value for the characteristic.
If you need to you can do this in the material classification view as well.
Just to be clear, these values will only show up in the batch record.  You can not have defautl values in resutls recording screens.

  • How to change line type on EAM Purchase Requisitions

When an EAM Work Order is released, we get Purchase Requisitions with the Line Type as the Purchasing Options default. This can be changed on the req but there is no option to select the req line type on the EAM Work Order page.
There's a Line Type field on the EAM Work Order page but it's different from the Requisition Line Type.
Just wondering what are our options to give users the ability to select req line type from EAM Work Order page. We know personalization is an option but we'd need to add a brand new field and even if we do, we are unsure that ReqImport will actually use this new field.
Workflow extensions could also be a solution and was hoping that someone out there would have some tips and tricks to share.

I think the only way is to:
    1) read the address data from Matrix 178 and keep the data in your Add-On
    2) delete the original address (activate the menu item (ID = 1293) or send Ctrl-K via Application.SendKeys)
    3) "click" on "Define new"
    4) and enter the data you have read in 1) into the cells of Matrix 178 again...

  • AP: Invoice Imports/ Miscellaneous Invoice Line types

    Hi All,
I had two issues while I was importing my invoices in AP through AP Invoices Open interface:
    1. Freight Charges
    2. Some Unit Royality Charges.
Both of these things are not included in my PO, so I needed to create additonal invoice distribution lines with in the same invoice and also had to assign a GL account while creating the invoices. The other Item type lines get the GL account code from PO while matching is done during AP Open Import process.
The Freight charges problem is resolved. The solution for that is as follows for your reference.
    Functional Steps:
    1. With Accounts Payables Manager responsibility , go to
    Setup->Options->Payables.
    2. Select Invoice from drop down list box.
    3. In invoice region Ceck the Automatically Create Freight Distribution Option.
    4. Supply default Freight Account for Freight Distributions.
    Technical Steps:
    1. Create an additional Invoice distributions line for freight in AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE table which should not have the PO level information.
    2. Set AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE.Prorate_across_flag = 'Y'
    3. AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE.line_type_lookup_code = 'FREIGHT'
    4. Set AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE.LINE_GROUP_Number as same in both the ITEM and Freight Invoice distribtuion line which are interrelated.
The above resolves the Freight issue and you can reproduce it in your environment.
However, I have another amount from my supplier which is called "Royality Charge" on every item which are also not present in my PO. My supplier sends these charges with Invoice lines the same way Freight charges are sent. I am thinking of creating additional Invoice lines marked as "Miscellaneous" Invoice Lines type for this charge. The problem I am facing with Miscellaneous Lines is that I cannot find a place where I can setup the Account code for such Invoice distribution lines, like I got for Freight Type Distribution lines as described above in Functional steps. Can anyone guide me in this regard or can give me an alternative workaround to handle my Unit Royality Charges?
    Thanks
    Faisal .

Apologies for the late response, have only just spotted the question.
You will need to register "line-item job-level chains of approval" under payables transaction type before you can select it from the picklist:
Setup\Action Types\"Use Existing Action Type" button, then select action type and continue.
Hope this helps (if you haven't already resolved yourself)

  • Configurator Assigning Line Type in Sales Order

    Hello!
Our business needs certain items on a PTO configuration to populate on the sales order lines with a specific line type.
    Example:
Part # X BOM Sales Model
    - Part # A Option Class
    - Part # 123 Needs line type with workflow for 'Line Flow - Generic'
    - Part # B Option Class
    - Part # 567 Needs line type with workflow for 'Line Flow - Return for no-credit
    with Receipt'
From having read some of the documentation, it seems that this might be possible by using Configurator Extension Rules...
Has anyone successfully populated line types on the sales order through the configurator?
    Thanks!!
    Lacey

    Hi Lacey,
    The answer is yes, but...
The Oracle Telecommunications Service Ordering (TSO) flow has this capability, where an extension (CX) supplied by Oracle Development writes out line type data. The line type assignments are specified using a set of specific properties and values. You can look at Document B14384-01 for more details, and Metalink Note 333976.1 for the source code for the extension.
However, I suspect you're not using the TSO flow. And without that, you won't be able to use the code above and have everything just work. Order Management won't automatically populate the line types from the configuration results for non TSO models (also known as Container models).
I think you can emulate the approach, but you may need to both use a CX as well as a customization on the OM side. Rather than use the extension I mentioned above, you may be able to just generate the line types you want as attributes of the selected items. It depends on whether the line types are dynamic during your configuration session, or static - and bound to the selected item. If they're static, you don't need a CX, you just need a customization in OM to retrieve the line type from the item.
If they're dynamic, you could use the attributes CX to write out the line type you want for each selected item, then use the OM customization to retrieve the line type from the configured attributes. In either case, you need OM to pull the data.

I want to set default value in product type drop  down box
    in component PRD01QR.
    view  SearchHelp.
I tried with setter and getter , but not working
    they are using query string.

    Hi,
You can achieve this by redefining the method GET_VH_PRODUCT_TYPE() in IMPL class of searchHelp view. Just copy paste the implementation of this method from super class and now control the internal table as per your requirement like
comment out the line       APPEND INITIAL LINE TO lt_ddlb. (line no: 47)
as it will add an empty line at the starting of internal of product type values which you dont want. In you case there should be some default value for product type field, so arrange the inetrnal table values according to you requirement and what ever value you want to default for product type that should be the first value in the drop down without empty line and add an empty line at the end of the internal table.
No need to call super->GET_VH_PRODUCT_TYPE() in your implementation as you have written all the required code in your implemenation itself.
    Hope this would help you!
    Regards,
    Ajay
