DefaultTableModel mix-up?

hi, i have a JTable that I build using a function:
               //DTM is defined as: DefaultTableModel DTM;
          Object runTypeInfo[][]          = RTR.getRunTableData();
          int rowCount = 0;
          if(runTypeInfoTable != null){
               rowCount = DTM.getRowCount();;
          }//end if
          for(int i=0;i<rowCount;i++){//if there are rows already in the table, lets remove them 1 at a time...
               DTM.removeRow(0);
          }//end for
          if(runTypeInfo!=null){
               for(int i=0;i<runTypeInfo.length;i++){
                    DTM.insertRow(0,runTypeInfo);
               //if(runTypeInfoTable==null)
                    runTypeInfoTable                = new JTable(DTM);
               //else
                    //runTypeInfoTable.setModel(DTM);
          runTypeInfoScroll               = new JScrollPane(runTypeInfoTable);
          System.out.println("new row count: " + runTypeInfoTable.getRowCount());
I call the above code at initialization, but if I call it a second time (i use this
same function to add a row, since i read the table info out of an XML file.)
Then any subsequent calls to:
runTypeInfoTable.getSelectedRowCount(); //returns 0
// or
runTypeInfoTable.getSelectedRows(); //yields an empty array, even when rows are selected!i have a hunch it has to do with the fact that i am changing around the DefaultTableModel, but I don't know why.

Hi,
Im getting the same problem and im not sure why. I refresh my JTable by creating a new TableModel and from there i go:
myTable.setModel(newTableModel);
The table looks fine and all the data is displayed...but getRowCount() returns 0.
getColumnCount() returns 0...setSelectionInverval(0,0) throws IllegalArgumentException: out of bounds.
So i dont understand how it can display the correct data after a refresh but have 0 rows and columns !!!
